Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Horde of Horrors. Enjoy the 2300-word chapter. I don't own She-Ra, Mattel and a few others do.

(Fright Zone)

Brennus and Catra sat across from each other as they tried to figure out what the other was going to be up to. This had been a lot more interesting than they considered as of the second.

Catra was the one who had broken the silence, asking the Vorutain prince something he couldn't begin to fathom at the second.

"So, what's 'Voruta' like? You keep mentioning it over and over." Catra said as the prince looked up from his sword which he had been sharpening.

"It's a death trap where almost everything tries to kill you, real nice real estate." Brennus acidly and amusingly said before smiling under the armor.

"Was that a joke?" Catra asked, a wry smile spreading across her face.

"Yes," Brennus said before he hummed to himself. "There's mostly mountains, deserts, and oceans. One part of the planet supports forest life, I don't think the other parts do. There are giant spanning cities over everything. I am… Not a fan of them, I used to sneak out and go exploring the desert, without the armor." Brennus said as Catra raised an eyebrow.

"Prince has some claws," Catra said before Brennus chuckled.

"I'm not lying when I've said I had to fight to earn my place. You'd fit in fine, being so crafty and skilled." Brennus said before he placed his blade to the side. "I am also not lying about meeting the Magicats, they are… Similar to you enough to make me want to question some ideas I had come up with." Brennus stated as he crossed his arms.

"What are they like? These Magi… That name is so stupid." Catra said as Brennus hummed and looked at her.

"I did not name them, Catra," Brennus said before glancing at the ceiling. "And resourceful, prideful, crafty. I do not know if they had ever been in battle. I do know my father spoke warmly of them. If he respects someone enough to speak of them? Then they are very powerful or VERY dangerous." Brennus said to which Catra looked down.

"Why are you sad as commander of the Horde?" Brennus asked before he hummed. "You crave more power, recognition as a warrior who commands the entire Horde. I see now." Brennus said as Catra hummed.

"How do you just look at someone and… Know them?" Catra questioned before she noticed more Horde soldiers marching past.

"The same way you do. I look at their face, any changes, any small detail that marks them as a warrior, their eyes widening, their frowns, twitches." Brennus stated before he hummed to himself. "You're very vocal when it comes to those expressions. It is part of the reason I wear this armor, if nobody can see my face, they have a harder time reading and predicting me in combat. It is an advantage which I find to be most amusing." Brennus added before he tilted his head to the side.

It had been something interesting to him to see her in this state, even more so when he considered the idea that she had a lot of history with them as a result.

Still? There was a lot more on the mind than this. A lot more had to be handled. It was going to be harder to handle at the time. He had to question what to do next.

He hummed before he cracked his fingers. He had been interested in it as of the second. He leaned on the wall while he cracked before he looked at the others. There was far too much to handle. This wasn't going to end the way he expected, nor would it be the fight he wanted it to be either way. No, this would end with fire as of the second.

He had been interested in what to do next. There was honestly curious as of the second. It had been as of the time before he seemed to question before this ended.

Still? There was more on the second that had been handled as of the second before he tilted his head before he clicked his tongue as of this needed before this ended.

It had been a lot more interested as of the second while hummed to himself before he sighed as of the second before this ended.

Brennus said while he hummed before he tilted the second while he tilted his head to himself. There was more on the second.

"We need to be ready for anything they throw at us. Anything else will be easy to deal with… Not being ready means, they hit us before." Brennus stated before he tapped a few keys.

The console in front of them lit up as Brennus started to question what to do next. Catra joined him as the two Horde officers looked over the data.

"They still unwilling to attack after they lost the city… Which is bad." Brennus added before he hummed. "They are either preparing for an attack or they are preparing to sneak around. Sending out patrols will not help; they will easily overpower any of the rank and file." Brennus stated before both heard the sound of footsteps.

He rested his hands on his sword as Catra's claws extended towards them. Both turned only to be greeted by Hordak as the Horde leader glanced at both of his two officers.

Still? He was curious. He knew very blasted well of their bond and the fact that they were to handle more military operations. He had a mission either way.

"Speaking of the rebels. We have located them towards the Fright Zone. I want you to force them to leave." Hordak stated before he hummed to himself. "There will be a lot more to say and do. Scorpia, your brother, and Entrapta are returning either way. Just make sure they don't bring the rebels inside with them." Hordak ordered before he questioned the time.

He knew damn well that there would be a lot more to do next before this was said and done. He had a lot more on his mind than this topic when all of these plans she questioned before he seemed to tilt her head. He hummed before all of this. It'd be a lot more as of the time. This war was going to be tedious and a lot more had to be done next as of the second before he hummed.

This was going to be a lot worse if they hadn't yet been pushed into the battle before long. They had to be ready when this came down to it.

"We need to question what to do next," Brennus questioned before he seemed to look.

"We need to handle this, then," Brennus stated before he cracked his fingers. "This is going to be a lot more to say and do next," Brennus added as he slowly started to march forward.

"Where are you going?" Catra questioned before she tilted her head. "We still need to talk," Catra said while he turned.

"We can talk and move," Brennus said while humming to himself. "No? we need to move either way. They're going to get here before long if we don't get there anyway." Brennus added with a sigh.

There was so much to say and do before today was done. If they were smart? They'd know this, find a way around it before it all went wrong. They had to be a lot more to do next.

There was more to do at the time. He questioned before he hummed before all of this.

This was a lot more to do when this pain was all said and done. There had to be something to the madness. Still? if that was the game that had to be played? He'd damn well play it. they had to either way. Anything else is insanity.

"You expected them to come here," Catra stated which was given a nod. "Why?" Catra asked before Brennus hummed.

"Because if someone went after my friends? I'd want to get them back." Brennus said before he frowned and turned towards the door.

"And Scorpia and my brother aren't here which means we need to split up… I'll protect the detention blocks. You will need to handle them outside. That will be the only way to properly protect them." Brennus stated before this was all done.

He drew his blade from his side. This was to be something that couldn't be entirely dealt with. He had to keep striking. Keep hitting the princesses and their allies until they were nothing more but a memory.

Catra looked at him as he turned to her. There was a small raise of his eyebrow before he slowly started to turn and march towards the cellblocks. He knew better than this. Catra was a lot more interesting before it came down to it.

"I'm sure Adora will be by the prison section. She might be inexperienced, but she is more dangerous than any of the soldiers in the horde besides people like you or me." Brennus stated before he sighed.

This had to be done and dusted. He had to be ready for whatever tricks they had. The Vorutian knew that an enemy who was further backed into a corner often brought up new tactics, and tried new methods to win. That much was obvious. They would come and if he didn't usher the soldiers guarding the prison barracks out? They'd just become victims of the princesses. He had to be ready.

"And you think it's better to just let me go outside," Catra said as Brennus turned around.

"No. that is why you should find Scorpia and my brother. Take them into a trap. Your smart, your hunt them better than they hunt you." Brennus added before he cracked his fingers.

He knew for a fact that they could be handled as of the time being. She was smart as were they. Catra didn't rely on her powers, she didn't have any yet it seemed. He'd be curious if her strategies were as skilled as they appeared. Magicats were very skilled hunters and soldiers from what little his father had told him about them… Very dangerous if left to their own devices.

Still? if he was to win? He had to match her as a hunter. The war hadn't yet spiraled before now. This had been a lot more interesting war when it came down to it. Brennus rather enjoyed the prospect of another clash with the enemy. A bigger war than now.

Catra flexed her claws at Brennus who had been simply smirking under his armor and glanced at her through the lenses of his armor before now. It had been a lot cooler than all had been done and dusted before now. It'd be a lot cooler when what he had next.

"We're be alright, we just need to focus on the mission," Catra added before now.

He had been oh so interested in how she'd fight. Brennus could tell a warrior when he saw them and he knew more than anything that she was a very skilled warrior. The problem came from her inability to handle the problem and her need to make it a problem. It had been a lot more interesting war for now. It had come down next to it.

There was a lot more to say and do next and the next. The battle hadn't yet been a lot more of an interesting turn.

Another sound made him turn just in time to greet one of Adora's sword swings before he tossed her back with a single kick, her sword digging into the ground as he rolled his eyes at her.

He had been a lot more questions as of now. It'd be something insane when he considered his options. Whatever came next certainly had his attention as of now. it wasn't exactly the most elegant of plans, but it had been a lot more interesting as of now.

"Somehow I expected you to show up," Brennus stated before he dodged another swipe and blocked the third one with his blade. "And with the same average fighting skill. You're not even trying to improve on what you can do, arena you?" Brennus questioned before he tilted his head to the side.

"Where's Bow?" Adora questioned as Brennus hummed.

"Don't know," Brennus responded as he flipped his blade up in his hands. "I do know you're not getting to her or the princess. You broke in here and expected to defeat the entire Horde? My, how arrogant you are with no skill in your combat style besides smashing every single little thing to pieces." Brennus added before he dodged another strike of her blade.

He easily managed to dodge around another strike which almost seemed to clip his side. It didn't make him seem to question before now just how odd this had been… If she had wanted to be more of a warrior, she'd need to make sure he put in much more effort than he had been before now. It had been something of a fight, but not anything more than he had been used to. This fight was easy to a degree since she didn't seem to bother to consider making it appear to be.

He laughed to himself.

Author Note

Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show both Brennus and Adora brawling and Catra both of them bonding and more of their connection. Until the 900-6500 words and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
