Chapter 2. Some more material
On a planet, surrounded by a forest.
"How does she know that?" – Damon asks, obviously perplexed.
Leo can't come to a good enough answer in words. Therefore, he chooses the easygoing tactic of responding to unorthodox methods of knowing – flaying of hands to the side. Quickly after, encourages Damon to come with him after Maya.
After a reasonable distance, the 3 Humans arrive at a clearing or the end of the forest. What is in front of them? An army of Stingwingers and 5 gigantic porcelain white metal containers with massive chains holding them to the ground. The shackles do serve a purpose. Judging by the sound coming from the porcelain white containers, there are living beings trapped in them.
"We've got to free them." – Maya voices with deep concern.
"Maybe we should give this some thought. Whatever they are, they don't sound friendly." – Damon gives a more rounded perspective on the matter at hand.
Currently, it's 1 vs. 1.
"We need a distraction." – Leo states.
Final results, Maya's idea is chosen. The tribe originated female takes Leo's support as a sign to express a plan.
"I'll draw them away; you go in and brake the chains."
"Wait!" – Damon shouts.
To no avail, since Maya had already made up her mind and dashes away from them.
"Man, that girl's crazy!"
"And so are we."
Now it is Damon's turn to flay both hands to the side. At this juncture in time, the trio's dynamic is quite crude. With Leo, the red saber possessor, it is the simplest case. He values both Damon and Maya as colleagues, just based on the evidence prefers the latter's ideas far more than the former's. Damon is on edge with Maya, while she does not seem to care in the slightest for his confusion. Sadly, the green saber possessor is clearly the most rational one of the trio. The lone Human female's trait for empathy and fair treatment of beings powers her on past the traditional roadblocks to achieving one's goals.
20 minutes later. The 3 Power rangers appear to have successfully gotten Scorpius's Stingwingers & their commander away from the cages.
"I've almost got it."
Unfortunately, Damon's unlocking of the cages is postponed due to several explosions right by their feet.
"Aha! I've caught ya. Nice try, but you three cool cats don't have what it takes to fool the Super Cool Radster. Aha!"
Leo, the newly appointed leader after his brother's demise at Furio's ravine, tilts his head down a little, an unfaltering conviction appears in his eyes before he relatively screams:
"Ready?!"
The other two achieve a similar state.
"Go Galactic!"
In a fast sequence, the Humans transform into their Power Ranger suits. Their strongest opponent takes notice of this.
"Nice move,… But let's see if you can dance with this."
He points his sword at the Red Ranger; suddenly, Kai & Kendrix come flying in, kick the Super Cool Radster back a few steps.
"Oh baby." – the commander expresses in an old Wild West accent.
"Thought you could use some help."
Leo takes Kai's comment as a kind gesture; yet, the statement following it is more befitting a confident leader.
"We're fine. But these guys need some lessons in manners. Quasar Sabers."
The 5 Humans takes their weapons, stretch them out.
"Hyah!"
Make a stance.
"Come on."
The fighting ensues.
Out of the battle area, At least 100 meters (~330 feet) back, in the forest stand two bipeds. From the side, they appear to be overseeing the Ranger's battle with Scorpius's forces, though, not talking about it. The air around them is no unobstructed by sound that one could easily notice the barely gushing wind.
"They look after each other on the battlefield."
"So it would appear, my comrade."
"The one with the red outfit."
"Yes. What of him?"
"From the way I observed the green one's & yellow one's movement after his speech, lead me to conclude that he is that groups leader."
"I'm disposed to that view."
"In your opinion, is that enough for us to make a call to the Demigods?"
"It is not worthless, my friend, but we shouldn't leave them be. Who knows? Maybe in the several minutes we spend notifying them we might lose out on more vital information."
"Then I shall go."
"And I will stay."
One of them nods and darts away from his origin point, while the other remains vigilant of the battle nearby. Admirable coordination from a neutral's point of view.
Less than 30 minutes forward. Feeling the sense of victory, the Power Rangers decided to multi-task. During their battle against the Super Cool Radster, in quick succession, each of them broke a chain from a porcelain white container. What was hidden in there? Living beings, massive ones – to be exact. The 5 Humans stood and gaged at them after Scorpius's forces had retreated.
"Wow!"
Kendrix, the Pink Ranger, is in awe of what she is seeing in front of her.
"They're amazing." – Kai expresses.
"Do you think they're gonna eat us?"
"Don't be silly." – Maya calms Damon down.
Back in the distance, the recon person reanalyzes the revelation.
"What an odd development. The colorfully dresses Humans have gained a new ally. By every simple deduction attempt, this enlarges the threat that they may pose to the Demigods. I must reposition myself as not to be seen."
Curiously, Kendrix was the one that instinctively took a glance at the direction where the scout was standing. At that moment, he was already gone.
"Kendrix. What is the matter?"
The Human female was feeling a substantial anxiousness, most likely, coming from her subconscious.
"Something daunting has transpired."
"Daunting? Explain it in another way?"
"Unsettling. In addition, I suspect it is far closer to its reveal than we would assume."
Kai was the lone person to overhear Kendrix's voiced nervousness. He felt a disjointed about this affair. On one hand, it was hard to suspect that there was another threat in the background simply observing their battle with no intent of getting involved. On the other hand, surprises, especially ones that significantly alter their future, were becoming a custom. So, keeping an open mind on the situation appeared to be the best solution. Luckily, that is what the Blue Ranger chose to do.
"As of this moment, the only aspect we need to reconstruct is that the one that wields the red Quasar saber is the leader of the group?" – Polus inquires, just to be sure.
"Yes."
"This could prove to be worthy in an altercation with them."
"Maybe, brother."
Polus's eyes narrow on their scout.
"Where are the Humans now?"
"They're venturing away from their recent planet through space."
"You're keeping your distance?" – Atlas questions.
"Of course. We must remain in the shadows as to not put them on alert about our existence."
"Well thought."
Polus eyes become unstressed, he instantly concocts a new path.
"I'm going to overlook their next battle personally."
"Fine by me. Just be discreet about it."
"You can bet on that. I have not the slightest urge to make them aware of our existence. It would make my formal introduction to them… Less devastating."
"All's done. Make sure you don't lose the Humans' ship."
"You've got my full commitment to that cause."
Sometime later, on Terra Venture. Furio & Radster appear on the Humans' space station, instantaneously start causing damage to buildings all around them. The Military try to intervene, but quickly find themselves at a massive disadvantage in their conflict with Scorpius's duo. Leo gets an uneasy feeling that something grim is unfolding on Terra Venture.
"Alpha. How long till we reach Terra Venture?"
"We're still a long ways away." – answers the robot in a childish voice.
Suddenly, an image comes up on the Main Screen.
"Look!" – Alpha, the robot assistant of the Astro Megaship, lightly screams.
Realizing the threat that Scorpius's poses to their base, they launch their ship faster towards it.
"We must not lose them."
"I'm well aware."
Soon, the Power Rangers appear on a higher ground compared to Furio & Radster; crucially, the duo easily notice their existence.
"Now get their Quasar sabers and return to the ship." – Furio states in his common angry tone before ruby red lightning appear.
In a few seconds, he was gone.
"Piece of cake,… Baby."
"You don't belong in this Galaxy, buddy." – Leo expresses.
"But I got a header especially for you."
Radster shoots at the Red Ranger, the five of them drop down and the battle commences.
In the middle of the battle. The two scouts are positioned expertly again when a figure in prominent gold armor walks up behind them; yet, they show no initiative against the newly appeared figure.
"Demigod Polus."
"In the flesh." – he confidently states.
The male takes notice of the current battle stage. At this point, the Super Cool Radster's blue laser was being countered by a massive red animal's fire burst.
"Who is that being that has created such a flame?"
"It is one of the beasts that the Humans freed on their last planet."
"Hmmm."
Polus realized the significance of what he was witnessing. The Type I Humans, as Crius would categorize them as, added another layer to their encounter. By this point, the gold armored male counted 3 layers: their non-transformed one, their transformed one and, now, a synchronized one with gigantic beings. A rush of satisfaction came through; primarily, due to the fact that the Rangers had progressed from his talk with one of the scouts.
"Crius has not even taken their existence into his examination. Whether or not that is the preferred path, is irrelevant. Hah… I've still got to give credit to him for upholding the agreement that we made 20 years ago. His memory has withheld Atlas and, to a lesser extent, Rhea from going above the rest of us as 'Superior Ones'.
Polus feels even more delight. Soon, refocuses back on the current battle.
Not even a minute passes. The battle is over; the Super Cool Radster is destroyed, victory goes to the Power Rangers.
"They defeated a monster of that size so quickly."
"So it would appear, but I wouldn't exaggerate their accomplishment."
"Please elaborate."
"If you insist."
Polus locks his sight onto the scout that wanted an explanation of his view.
"Was the monster huge? Yes. But was he powerful? Not by my estimation. That is why, to me, their threat barely increases after such a victory."
"Should we return to the Palace right now?"
"That is the smartest move; one that I intend to enact right now."
Without any more words, the trio turn around and leave Terra Venture quite fast.
Back on a space ship. Furio comes face to face with Scorpius.
"Your Greatness. Now that we know where the Quasar sabers are, it is only a matter of time."
"Once we have them, we can destroy the rangers."
"Ble-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!"
Furio's pompous, triumphant laugh is followed by a peculiar gage from another person residing in the room. Said person is playfully maneuvering a knife in their hands.
"Well, father,…"
Redirection of the face.
"…Looks as though you've finally found a worthy General."
"Time will tell, my sweet daughter. Time will tell."
Terra Venture. While Leo and Damon are entertaining themselves with a humorous card game, Maya is staring out into the lifeless, grandiose area know as 'space'. Kendrix sees her colleague, guesses she is pondering something of worth and decides to confront her about it. What's her firs move? Nudging the Yellow ranger's lushes, long brown hair.
"What you thinkin' about?"
"Miranoi. I wonder if I'll ever see home again."
Kendrix completely understands Maya's sentiment and shows it off with a empathetic, caring, diagonal smile. Yet, the addressed female feels that her colleague is also worried about something.
"And you, Kendrix? What has you troubled?"
"Nothing factual, I assure you."
Maya does not believe her.
"Not to sound harsh, but I don't believe you're being honest with me."
Figuring that a fast retort is her best choice of action, Kendrix says:
"Well,… After our battle near the creatures, which we freed, I felt that there was something watching us… From a far."
"Hmmm. Not a wild assumption, Kendrix."
Both of their attention is fractured, when Damon laughs loudly to their left. Understanding their current situation, Maya decides to leave the topic at peace for today.
"Maybe we'll talk about it when such a thing happens again."
"I'll appreciate it."
The Pink Ranger was satisfied with her response, to a degree. Honestly, she had no clue, who or why was someone acting in such a way. The only aspect that made sense to her was that, whoever the person was, they did not send signals of peacefulness.
Somewhere else.
"Yes! YEEEEES!"
From out of nowhere, a Human launches both of his hands upward with enthusiasm.
"What is it, Professor Eyelawn?"
"Yeah. What has fascinated you that much?"
"I've done it!"
The two other beings in the room quickly decoded what the 'it' was.
"Are you sure?"
"Bare minimum of 80%, my friends."
"Credible enough."
"I've finally cracked the inscription! Demigod Crius will soon hear the greatest news he's heard in a long time."
What was Crius searching for? And did it impact both the Rangers & Scorpius?
