- Not What You Think -
"Vala!" Daniel screamed. He rushed to the woman and dragged her away from the big falling rock that was about to smash her.
Vala fell on her back. Daniel placed his body over hers, to protect her from the dust and other falling projectiles. The big rock broke into pieces right where Vala had been standing a few seconds earlier.
The tremor stopped. The two members of SG-1 coughed because of the dust on and around them.
Daniel, still above Vala, looked at her and asked, "You're all right?"
"I am." Vala confirmed. Noticing the configuration, she smirked. "Daniel, I knew you were looking forward to it, too, but I was thinking we could do this in a more comfortable place." she teased.
Jackson rolled his eyes. Why was this happening to him, now, and with Vala? The archeologist and the latest addition to SG-1 turned their heads to the entrance of the cave. Cameron Mitchell had just arrived after a quick run. He was holding his P90 as if to fire. As a matter of fact, he was using the weapon light to better see the environment.
"Vala, Daniel, you're okay?!" the lieutenant-colonel shouted before he could clearly see his fellows on the floor. He lowered his weapon. He looked at them in a curious way. His colleagues' position was quite ambiguous and amusing.
Daniel tried to clarify, "That's not what you think."
"Oh, that is exactly what you think, colonel." Vala contradicted Daniel, delighted to play with the man's nerves. She earned a glare from him.
Mitchell's radio activated. Carter informed that Teal'c and she were okay, then, asked about Mitchell and the others.
"I'm with Vala and Jackson, we're okay." Cameron replied into radio, while Daniel and Vala were standing up and removing the dust from their outfit. "I'm coming back to check on the villagers." Mitchell finished.
Carter added she and Teal'c would join Mitchell in the village.
The CO of SG-1 looked at his companions in the cave. "Well, I'll go to the village." he stated, then, made his way to the exit. He stopped after a few steps and turned around. "Maybe you two should get a room." he jokingly suggested, gesturing with a hand from Vala to Daniel and vice versa.
The Air Force officer left, proud that he contributed to this funny situation. A grin appeared across Vala's face. Daniel sighed. Who was he working with?
