Good afternoon,

I did in fact write another chapter this afternoon and I did leave out the spider prank as it seemed too childish for the maturity I am trying to convey in this rewrite.

I chose to write a Clarisse POV to have a filler between more Percy and Annabeth POVs so enjoy a different perspective.

Clarisse I

I couldn't understand why the gods in all of their godliness would think this could possibly end any other way but badly. My mother was a classic Barbie. She could easily pass for a daughter of Aphrodite if she really wanted to, which explains why my father took such a keen to her. She was a model but she was also a very peace loving person. When I was younger I would get into fights with kids at school, always winning of course, and she would just look at me with a disappointed look. Then I would get a lecture that fights lead to broken noses which can lead to bad plastic surgery. All she cared about was looks. I walked down the hill towards my cabin with my parents trailing behind me. My mom was doing her stupid little giggle she does when she's flirting and it made me want to puke. I am so glad I ran away when I turned 13 and it's a miracle I found a satyr to take me to Camp.

"So this is Cabin 5" I said and came into my cabin "the Ares cabin."

"Yeah" my dad crossed his arms and grinned, taking in the trophy wall and the weapons cases filling every open spot in the room "my cabin has to be the coolest."

"Oh no no no no" my mom said and shook her head which made me grit my teeth and repress a groan "Clarisse. There is never a need for this many weapons. This cannot be safe around such young children."

"If they get hurt then that's on them for being stupid" I said. I walked in and my siblings were wrestling or polishing shields and armor, Jacob was sharpening a dagger.

"That's what I say!" my dad laughed and clapped me on the back "but no child of mine is stupid enough to hurt themselves on a weapon."

"Ares are you kidding?!" my mother exclaimed "This cabin is a death trap!"

"Oh please" I scoffed and rolled my eyes. I was just about to sit down when I realized what was about to happen.

"Shit!" I said and stood back up "hey you losers!" I shouted "Why the Hades does MY cabin look like a pig sty?! Do any of you really want to be on dish duty for the week?! It's Piper doing inspection and you know how nit picky those Barbie Dolls are about cleanliness! Get a move on!"

Everyone scrambled to their feet and started cleaning the cabin.

"Clarisse!" My mother scolded as I made my bed "that is NO way to speak to those below you!"

"They're below me for a reason mother" I shot back "I am the Counselor of this cabin. They follow my orders and those that don't, get punished with the worst spot during Capture the Flag and get hill duty for a month!"

Everyone started cleaning faster.

"This is not how I raised you!" my mother said and sighed, I had been waiting for that sentence to leave her perfectly painted, pink lips.

"You didn't raise me!" I said and looked at her "I raised me! Then Camp raised me! You were too busy with Paris Fashion Week or whatever."

"Are all your children hellions or just the one we created together?!" she turned to my dad who just laughed.

"They're meant to be hellions" he said "anything less is not accepted as my child."

"Ugh!" my mom threw her arms up in exasperation and sat down on the bed I made for her.

"Knock knock" I heard Piper McClean's voice say as she opened the door "inspection time."

"If you give me a low score like you did last time I will destroy you" I glared at her, not in the mood to deal with this bullshit today.

"Actually you won't" she said, not using her Charmspeak on me because she knew better "because then you would be answering to Chiron as to why you retaliated against me for your own inability to have a clean cabin. Out."

Piper was one of the few people at Camp that didn't back down from me, it made me respect her. If she wasn't always attached at her boyfriend's hip we probably could have been friends the way Silena and I were.

"Fall out!" I announced and everyone, including my mother and father, walked out of the cabin. She was only in there for a few moments before she came out writing on her clipboard.

"4" She said and I swear my blood boiled.

"Why?!" I asked and snatched the clipboard from her.

"Because" she snatched it back "there is trash under every bed, pieces of armor scattered everywhere but the wall hangings where they belong, and the windows are filthy" she said, glaring up at me.

"Bullshit" I spat and turned away from her "not all of us are Barbie Girls."

"Call me a Barbie Girl one more time and I promise it'll be the last thing you ever say with that tongue" Piper shot back and walked to the Athena cabin. I scoffed and we all walked back into the cabin.

"Are you sure she's not mine?" Ares asked, looking after Piper.

"Trust me" I said "I'm sure. So! Our cabin has practice in the arena right now. If you would like to join you are more than welcome to." I put on a smile and my cabin filed out. We walked to the arena and we each picked a partner. Our father watched us from the sideline with his arms crossed, occasionally calling out suggestions. I fought hard, releasing all the pent up frustration out on the sorry sucker that agreed to duel me. I noticed my dad never called out a suggestion for me but it was because I was one of few people who knows what she is doing. My opponent quickly fell and looked up to my sword point aimed at his neck.

"And you're dead" I said "and when you're dead you are useless to the cause you are fighting for and someone will have to clean your body up during the aftermath."

"Enlightening" he grumbled and stood back up. I had barely broken a sweat but he was drenched almost head to toe in it. I looked around and all around me the fights were ending.

"Everyone go shower! I don't want to smell your asses when I'm trying to eat my brisket tonight!" I shouted and they all cheered and ran to the showers. I stayed behind to take some more anger out on a dummy.

"I chose a great leader for my cabin" Ares said and I scoffed as I hacked away at the dummy.

"You didn't choose me, I chose me" I said "I am the only one that ever chooses me."

"Think whatever you want Clarisse" he shook his head "I am a god. I don't have to hear your pathetic whining."

I stopped and looked at him.

"Pathetic?" I asked him, anger burning in my chest "I have earned my spot in this camp."

"And yet you can't beat Jackson" he said and I clenched my jaw.

"Neither can you" I snapped and I saw his eyes burn red like little flames in his head "Jackson is good and no one can deny that. I am the one who came to his rescue in the First War."

He came up to me, closing in the distance between us quickly. I flinched when he got close enough I could feel a heat radiating off of him. Fortunately the Apollo cabin came in and I avoided the blow I knew was going to come.

"Never" he said quietly and dangerously "speak to me like that again. Understood?"

I nodded and he backed up. I let out a sigh of relief and I followed him out of the arena but when he continued down to the cabin I turned and went to the showers.

Please, if you liked the story so far, leave a review so I know how I'm doing. Let me know if there is anything I should change as well!
