Haru always hated hospitals, stark white and heartless. There was barely any colour as he waited outside Rin's door, faces were downcast and he could almost hear their thoughts.

Abandon all hope.

That's all the hospitals ever said to him. Rin's parents left her in the hospital, it was only pain that this place brought, it made him sick to his stomach.

She doesn't need this, he thought, doesn't need sad faces and dull eyes, she needs sunshine and love and she needs, she needs to be with me.

"Or do I just need to be with her?" he thought aloud to himself. He could do nothing but wait and watch the people go by, he saw an old couple walk by and wondered if they would ever get to do that, walk hand in hand together, not worrying about a thing.

Then he tried to imagine the look on Akito's face if he ever saw them. One day, we'll be free. And I'll carry you whenever you fall.

He heard a soft coughing inside and almost tripped over himself to open the door.

The room was white like the rest of the hospital, the room cast into dull oblivion by closed blinds. The sight of her hair against the sheets was amazing, throwing all of his senses into sharp relief; he could smell the metallic aroma of blood, his eyes filled with tears at the sight of her, covered in bandages and bruises.

She doesn't need this, he told himself, she doesn't need to be here.

"I'm sick of this, I'm sick of you, I don't need you."

Haru smashed it all, smashed the chair the cabinet with his jewelry on it, the mirror, slashed the curtains, threw his belongings everywhere. He collapsed to his knees, beating the floor with a bloodied fist.

"Doesn't need me."

Smash

"Doesn't need me"

Smash

"Doesn't..." he broke off with a choked sob "But I need her."
