A couple of days had passed since Chloe traveled to the Hoenn Region with Ash and Goh. And ever since then, she's been traveling more and more. She and Ash even got to witness one of Goh's 'Protect Mew' Missions, although they were careful not to intervene. Ash explained it to her the best.
"Goh has said he wants to get to his dream on his own. So, I'll let him do whatever he needs to do to reach it! I'll only help him if it's necessary."
She admired how mature Ash was, even if it didn't seem like it most of the time. But even then, Ash still wanted to help out Chloe as much as he could, even allowing her to join in on his training sessions. She also got to meet some of his other Pokémon!
"Gah!! H-Hey!" Chloe freaked, as Garchomp lightly nibbled on her head. "I just did my hair today!"
Ash, Pikachu, and Eevee tried their best to pull him off of the young girl, but that only caused Chloe to get flung into the air. However, she was stopped mid-air by the move Psychic from Ash's Gardevoir, being safely lifted back down on the grassy terrain.
"Hah... Thank you, Gardevoir." Chloe blessed.
Pikachu jumped on Ash's shoulder as the boy ran over to Chloe, along with her partner Eevee, looking very relieved and scared at the same time. "Sorry about that!"
Chloe looked at the boy, as Eevee crawled onto her lap. She giggled joyfully. "It's fine, Ash. Don't worry about it."
Ash gave off a sigh of relief, as he grabbed Chloe's hand and helped her up from the ground, with Eevee squirming to climb on Chloe's shoulder.
Chloe gave a light smile. "As I said before, you have some interesting Pokémon."
Ash grinned. "Thanks! They're some of the best Pokémon you'll meet! At least, in my opinion."
"I wouldn't doubt it!" Chloe responded.
Ash put his fingers together and stretched them. "So! How about a little sparring?" He asks her.
Chloe put her hand on her chin. "Oh, I don't know..." She said, with a very obvious joking tone. She then smiled and threw her fist in the air. "Absolutely!"
Ash smirked as he turned around and returned Garchomp and Gardevoir, leaving only Pikachu and Lucario, the latter of which was relaxing in the grass.
"Hey, Lucario! Want to spar with Eevee?" Ash asked.
Lucario opened her eyes as she looked at her trainer. She smirked, before barking as a sign of acceptance. She stood up, and she walked over in front of Ash.
Chloe looks over at her partner. "Eevee, Let's Go!"
Eevee nods, as she jumps off of her shoulder and onto the ground. "EeeeVUI!!" Eevee said, thinking her growl made her frightening and menacing. However, everyone else just heard a cute squeal.
Ash smiled. "That's the spirit, Eevee! Lucario, use Bone Rush!"
Lucario puts her paws behind her back, as she takes out two large bones. She pressed her feet against the ground, then leaped forward with tremendous momentum, as she reels back her arms.
"Eevee! Counter with Shadow Ball!" Chloe calls out.
The Evolution Pokémon opens her mouth, as a shadow surrounds her. The powerful purple blob appears in front of her mouth, as she then forces it from its stance, sending it hurdling.
As Lucario finishes her large smackdown with the bone clubs, they clash against the Shadow Ball.
"Dig!" Chloe shouts.
Eevee began to burrow below the ground, as Lucario hit the large Shadow Ball away. Although the group can't see it, the thrown-away attack hit something or someone.
Lucario looks around as Ash calls out, "Below you!" The Aura Pokemon looks down, as Eevee flies from out of the surface below, landing a damaging hit to her face.
"Nice one, Eevee! You too, Chloe! You used that time correctly." Ash praised the duo. "Now, use Aura Sphere!"
Chloe lightly threw her right arm forward, in a similar manner to how Ash performs it. "Eevee! Copycat!"
As Lucario cupped her paws, Eevee opened her mouth. And just like with her Shadow Ball, the Aura Sphere is generated at the center. The Aura Pokemon's ball of aura formed as well, about to send it toward the Evolution Pokémon. However, suddenly, tremors were felt at random.
"Huh?" This caught both Ash and Chloe's attention, as they turn around to see Goh's giant Golurk. They couldn't tell by facial expressions alone because, well, it didn't have a face. But by its feel alone, they could turn it was enraged. The two could only assume it had something to do with Eevee's Shadow Ball.
"H-Hey Golurk! We're sorry about that!" Chloe apologized.
"Yeah! Please don't be—" Ash tried to reason with it too before it began to charge up what seemed to be Flash Cannon.
However, once again, another someone enters the scene. It was Yamper!
"Yam! Per, per! Yamper!" He talked back.
As Yamper barked at the gigantic Automaton Pokémon, it eventually lowered its Flash Cannon and lightly went back to its side of Cerise Park.
Chloe sighed. "Phew... Thank you, Yamper." She said, showing gratitude toward the Puppy Pokemon.
Yamper smiled, as it then showed a relaxed expression, being pet by his owner.
"I'm surprised Yamper was able to calm down Golurk so easily. Although I guess size doesn't matter in the long run." Ash commented.
Chloe looked up at him and smiled. "I've noticed that Yamper has taken charge at the park while we're gone. I guess he's tired of just slumping around and wanted to do something for himself."
Ash smiled. "It's cool you can tell how he's feeling, just like that!"
Chloe smirked. "You're one to talk."
But suddenly, there was a large rumble once more. "What now?" Chloe asked audibly.
"Yam?" Yamper hops off of Chloe's lap as he then sprints toward the sound of the tremor.
Chloe stands up, as Eevee runs after the Puppy Pokemon.
"H-Hey! Eevee!" The girl calls out, before sighing annoyingly. But Ash pats her back.
"No worries." He says. "Let's go after them!"
Chloe smiled. "Alright!" She said. She rushes after the two Pokémon, with Ash, Pikachu, and Lucario soon following close behind.
The four arrived, and they then see Yamper and Eevee holding back Goh's Darmanitan and Boldore respectively. Even some of his other Pokémon were watching one, like Raichu, Heracross, and Pinsir. In the middle of the ground was a single Oran Berry.
"What's going on?" Chloe questioned.
Eventually, the two small Pokémon were flung away, then caught by Chloe.
Darmanitan and Boldore begin to wrestle, neither one seemingly backing down.
"Lucario!" The Aura Pokemon roared as she smashed her paws against the two, sending a powerful but purposefully restricted Force Palm, knocking them into the trees nearby.
"Good job, Lucario! Although, maybe next time don't be as forceful." Ash tells his secondary partner.
"I wonder what they're fighting about," Chloe wondered.
"It probably has to do with the Oran Berry sitting there." Ash guesses.
Darmanitan and Boldore rise, as they stare each other down. However, Yamper steps in between them.
"Yamper!" He said as he picked up the Oran Berry in his mouth.
He then lays on his back, as he places his paws on the berry, seemingly pulling on it. The fruit then proceeds to split in half, the force of which causes the halves to fly at the Blazing and Ore Pokémon.
"Dar?" "Ore?" The two inspect the halves, as they inspect the pieces. They give off an immediate smile, as they nibble on the berry.
"Wow. Nice work again, Yamper!" Ash praises the pup.
Yamper lightly blushed, as Chloe bends down and rubs his belly. However, his stomach then rumbles. Chloe couldn't help but chuckle.
"I guess you're hungry, aren't you?" Chloe asked, with the Puppy Pokemon nodding.
Ash smiled, as he grabs some paper bags. "Luckily, I have just the snacks to fill up some empty stomachs!"
Ash and Chloe sit down on a nearby log, as the boy hands Eevee, Pikachu, Lucario, and Yamper treats. They looked similar to gingerbread cookies, but they were a Pokemon safe brand.
"Pika!" "Yamper!" "Rio!" The three squeal in delight, as they bite into their snacks.
As the two trainers watched on, Ash made an amusing comment. "You know, Yamper reminds me of a lot of one of my Pokémon."
Chloe turned her attention toward Ash. "Oh? How so?" She inquired.
"Well, when I first started my journey, I caught arguably some of my greatest Pokémon. Not even in strength, but ambition, personality, and more. Although one was a bit stubborn. That was partly my fault." Ash explained.
"One of them was Bulbasaur, well, I guess Venusaur now. It's been a while since then. But anyway, while I went off to new regions, he'd always take care of Professor Oak's lab and the other Pokémon there. And Yamper kind of reminds me of his early times doing that job."
Chloe stared at the boy as he finished explaining. "It's nice to hear you have such great Pokémon."
"Can I ask you something, Chloe?" Ash asked.
Chloe nodded before Ash spoke. "Do you think you're going to catch any Pokémon?"
The girl took in his words, as she pondered for a little while. Would she catch any Pokémon? Well, the first Pokémon that comes to mind is Ponyta, but she has a mother caring for her at the moment.
"I don't know. It's not something I've given much thought about." Chloe answers.
Ash grinned. "It's fine! Take everything one step at a time. No rush."
Chloe smiled and nodded, as she looks at the four Pokémon playing with one another. Lucario and Eevee were doing a little sparring, with Pikachu and Yamper running around with one another.
"Ee? Eevui!" Eevee gains a jealous expression, as she runs under Lucario's legs, almost tripping the Aura Pokemon.
"Pi?"
"Eevui!!" Eevee squeals as she playfully tackles Pikachu, with the Electric Mouse Pokemon laughing hysterically.
Yamper seemed a little confused but didn't seem to mind it. Just then, Goh's Cubone came up to Yamper and handed him another Oran Berry. Yamper looked at it, before smiling. He put it in his mouth, before splitting it in half as well, sharing it with Cubone.
"Yamper seems to have really gotten along with Goh's Pokemon," Ash stated.
The little Puppy Pokémon and the Ground-Type run around playing, as Ash and Chloe look around, seeing that the sun was setting.
"Wow. Time sure does go by fast." Chloe said.
Ash got up and stretched. "Yeah. But, just means we'll have more to do tomorrow!"
"Yeah, you do have a point," Chloe replied. "Alright Eevee, Yamper, let's get ready for bed!"
Eevee squeals happily, with Yamper lightly barking. Yamper waved goodbye to Cubone, who does the same, as the Puppy and Evolution Pokémon run out of the park into the laboratory. Ash and Chloe chuckle as they slowly walk out of Cerise Park.
"Hey, where has Goh been today?" Ash asked Chloe.
"From what he told me, he's staying with his parents for the weekend, since they're off work." She answered.
Ash gave a big smile. "That's nice! He's told me how he misses them when they are busy, so it's nice they get to spend time together."
"Yeah, we've had similar conversations," Chloe said.
"You know Chloe if anything is ever bothering you, we can always talk," Ash tells her.
Chloe was a little taken aback, even blushing a tiny bit. "R-Really? Are you sure that wouldn't be too much of a burden?"
Ash simply shook his head. "Of course not! Why would it?"
Chloe took a few seconds to process what he had said but quickly smiled. "Alright! Just make sure you do the same with me."
"It's a deal!" Ash replied.
"Are you sure you want to sleep at the lab? We don't mind waiting for you to come home." A voice said over Chloe's Rotom Phone. It was Professor Cerise's.
"It's fine, I promise," Chloe replied.
"If you say so. Goodnight, Chloe." And with that, the phone was hung up.
It was time for bed! After getting her sleeping clothing on, she walked into the room where Ash and Goh would usually sleep, Eevee and Yamper following behind her. However, Ash was nowhere to be found. Let alone Pikachu and Lucario.
"Huh? Ash? Ash!" Chloe calls out.
"I'm in here!" Ash called out, a slight echo occurring.
Chloe and the others behind her walked back over to Cerise Park. They could see Pokémon sleeping in their little homes, but more distinctively, Ash was in a sleeping bag with Pikachu, and Lucario was laying in the grass.
"What are you doing out here?" Chloe questioned.
Ash turned to look at her with a grin. "I just like the outdoors more. Well, at least, partial outdoors."
Chloe lightly smirks. "I think what you're trying to say is that you love the environment of nature."
"Yeah! That's right!" Ash replied, snapping his fingers.
Ash's eyes then widened as he raises his right hand's index finger, signifying to Chloe that he was telling her to wait for a moment. The girl stared at the boy, wondering what he was doing, as he then pulled out another sleeping bag.
"I was hoping we could camp out together?" He requested, smiling brightly.
Chloe looked at Ash. That smile couldn't let her say no. Not like she was going to, but looking at the expression, it almost felt like an obligation to do so. Or maybe it was just because it was too adorable to dismiss. Whichever it was, Chloe smiled at him.
"Sounds fun to me." With that, she took the sleeping bag and laid it out on the grassy terrain. She yawns as she climbs inside of it, before zipping it up. Eevee and Yamper quickly ran over and snuggled up next to her on the left and right sides respectively.
Ash takes a deep breath, smelling the fresh air of Cerise Park. "Man... nature sure is wonderful."
"Yeah, it sure is. I'm not too used to it, but it's certainly a joy." Chloe replied.
"Yeah! It makes me want to go adventuring every single day!" Ash speaks ecstatically.
Chloe raises a brow, with a laughable smirk. "You mean like you already do?"
Ash couldn't help but giggle at her comment. "I guess you have a point, haha."
Silence filled the air, with Chloe speaking up after a couple of minutes.
"Hey, Ash... Will I ever find my dream?" She asked with a frown.
Ash turned his head to look at her. He looked and saw her sad expression, but in return, have a bright smile.
"You will. Trust me." Ash said. "You know, I once had a friend who was struggling to find her goal. But, she eventually did. And trust me, she's great at it!"
Chloe seemed to express intrigue. "Oh? What was she like?" She asked.
Ash smiled as he looked up to see the stars through the park's protective glass sphere. "She was very nice, hard-working, always moving forward. You're kinda the same way, but also different! I like that about you!"
Chloe lightly smiled, although couldn't help but look a little taken aback. "T-Thanks Ash." She replied.
Ash smiled back at her. "Whatever you decide to do, whether that's battling, or something different. With Eevee, or with her and new Pokémon. I'm sure you'll succeed."
Chloe grinned gleefully, before hearing Ash audibly yawning.
"I guess it is a bit late." Chloe realized.
Ash laughed. "Yeah. We better get some rest for tomorrow."
The two lay down, as Pikachu and Eevee curl up in Ash and Chloe's laps respectively. As Ash begins to speak, Yamper's left eye slightly opens, as he listens in.
"Hey, Chloe! Wanna train some more tomorrow?" Ash asked.
Chloe thought it over. "Of course! I want to see how much higher me and Eevee can go." She said.
Yamper frowned, seemingly deep in thought. He was thinking about the times Chloe was training. Then all the times he has tried to help Cerise park. But, he shook his head, as he closed his eyes.
Morning came, and Chloe opened her eyes to the bright rising sun. It was rather late into the morning, only around a quarter to 10. She yawned, as she glanced around the park, seeing Ash's Dracovish and Lucario training. She, along with Eevee and Yamper, stood up and watched on.
"Dracovish, Dragon Rush!" Ash commands.
As Dracovish roars, it surrounds itself in a purple aura, with a dragon figure. Ash then calls out to Lucario.
"Lucario, dodge it and use Aura Sphere!"
The Aura Pokémon jumps back high, as Dracovish rushes under her. She then lands behind and cups her hands together, firing off the ball of energy.
Ash smirks and cups his right hand. "Ice Fang!"
Dracovish opens its mouth wide, as a pair of icy fangs elongated out from its jaw area. As the aura attack approaches, it bites down on the ball, crushing it into little twinkles of light.
"Ice Fang, one more time!" Ash tells the Fossil Pokemon.
Dracovish rushes in once more, its newly grown fangs blistering with cold energy. Lucario attempts to guard until... Dracovish seemingly stops its attack and playfully nibbles on her right arm.
"Draco! Vish! Vish!" It said playfully.
Ash and Pikachu, along with Chloe and Yamper just look hysterically dumbfounded. Lucario looked on at Dracovish, before smiling and patting the fossil's head.
Ash looked over, seeing Chloe awake. "Oh hey, good morning!" He said to her.
Chloe gained a cheerful grin. "Morning! Eevee and I are ready to start the day!" She said ecstatically.
Ash smiled, as he looked at Dracovish. "Hey, Dracovish! How about you help Chloe and Eevee train?" He asked.
The Fossil Pokémon gained a serious expression, as it attempted to do a sort of military salute, but to no avail, due to its very short fins.
"Yamper!"
However, Yamper spoke up. He ran in front of Lucario, taking a battling stance at Dracovish. Ash and especially Chloe were taken aback.
"Yamper... You want to train?" Chloe inquired.
Yamper looked toward her, with a very confident look. But, behind that confidence, was also something resembling a somber feeling. Something had happened that Chloe wasn't aware of.
But, Chloe smiled. "If that's what you want, then we can do it." She then turned to Eevee. "Do you mind sitting this one out?" She asked.
Eevee had a large smile as she always did, nodding at her trainer in response to her question. Chloe gives her a light pet, as she walks over to Yamper.
"Now this is exciting!" Ash said as Pikachu and Lucario sat down to watch the training.
"But, uh, Yamper only knows Spark, if I recall correctly," Chloe tells Ash.
Ash puts his hand on his chin. "Well, maybe Yamper has more to him than you've seen! Or maybe he'll learn something new!"
Chloe sighed. He couldn't tell if Ash already knew and was just testing her, or if he genuinely didn't know. But, she decided to play along anyway for his potential amusement. As this was all happening, other Pokémon in Cerise Park began to watch.
"Okay... Yamper, use Spark!" Chloe commands.
Yamper crouches, his paws piercing into the dirt. He then pushes his feet off the ground, before lunging at the Fossil Pokemon. A yellow electrifying aura surrounds him, as he speeds toward Dracovish.
"Dracovish, let's do this! Counter with Fishious Rend!" Ash shouts.
The goofy fossil Pokémon surrounds the gills on his face with water, as he then slashes his head with immense power. The two Pokémon clash, but Yamper is easily overpowered by the large dragon type.
"It's fine Yamper. We can try a different way of attack." Chloe told him, trying to remember what attacks Yamper could produce.
"Let's try Bite!"
Luckily Chloe was right. Yamper ran around Dracovish as he then jumped from behind, landing a forceful bite. However, the weird amalgamation of old Pokémon simply flung Yamper into the air.
"Dracovish! Dragon Rush!" Ash yells.
Dracovish looked up at the flying pup, as it was engulfed in a purple dragon-figured aura. He then jumps off the ground and blitzes at Yamper, hitting him with immense power and knocking him to the ground.
"Tch... Ummm..." Chloe tried her best to think of her next move, but Yamper seemed impatient, as he uses Spark.
"A-Ah! Yamper!" Chloe called out.
Yamper rushed in, but Dracovish dodged with ease. Ash and Dracovish look at one another and nod, with the Fossil Pokemon's jaw opening, producing cold fangs of ice. Dracovish then lunges himself at Yamper, landing the ice fang, sending the Puppy Pokémon tumbling back, with bits of ice falling from his body.
"This is really out of character for Yamper. I've never seen him this worked up." Chloe thought.
Yamper has trouble standing up, as he looks at Chloe. He noticed her worried expression, which caused his expression to change from desperation to one of sadness. He then noticed the other Pokémon around.
"Yam... Yamper..." He simply sat down, looking defeated.
However, he felt the light pet of Chloe's hand on his head.
"I think I finally understand what's going on." She said. "You want to protect everyone, but feel like you aren't strong enough."
Yamper's eyes widened, as he looked up to Chloe, who was lightly smiling. Ash looked on a little surprised.
"Trust me. I've had a similar feeling before. I didn't think I could be strong enough for Eevee, just as you feel you can't be strong enough for the Pokémon."
Chloe's words hit Yamper right at home, as he looked both sad and almost embarrassed. But, his facial expression brightened, as Chloe picked him up.
"You don't have to worry. You have me, Eevee, Ash, and his Pokémon. We'll be here to help you." Chloe assures him.
Yamper looked speechless, before gaining his usual goofy smile. He begins licking Chloe's face. "Hahaha! Hey! Glad you're feeling better."
Now fully motivated again, Yamper stands firm as he barks at Dracovish.
"I think Yamper is ready to continue, Ash!" Chloe shouts to him.
Ash looked on at Chloe and Yamper, before grinning. "Alright! Dracovish, use Ice Fang!"
As Dracovish opens his mouth and creates four freezing canines, Chloe quickly calls out to Yamper.
"Wait for it to charge in!"
Yamper nodded, as he stood his ground. Dracovish rushes forward.
"Jump!" Chloe shouts.
As Dracovish chomps down, Yamper springs up with elegance, before turning around midair.
Chloe smirks. "Now, use Spark!"
"Dragon Rush!" Ash commands.
As Yamper charges up his electricity, Dracovish surrounds himself with a large purple dragon figure. The two then sped off at one another, clashing with each other. Yamper, however, was being pushed back.
"Yam... YAM... PER..." The Puppy Pokemon pushes on, as the electricity around his body begins to turn somewhat transparent, before beginning to extend outwards.
While Chloe is confused, Ash immediately recognized this development. "Wait, is that...?"
"YAMPER!!" Yamper roared, as the electricity around his body extends outwards, hitting Dracovish and causing him to fall to the ground.
Yamper lands on the ground, looking rather confused. "W-What was that?" Chloe inquired.
"It was Discharge!" Ash answered with pure delight.
Chloe tilted her head. "Discharge?" Just then, her Rotom Phone beeped.
"Discharge! An Electric Type Special Attack! It's described as a flare of electricity that is loosed to strike all Pokémon in battle. It may also cause paralysis."
Chloe looks on at Yamper. Her mouth turns into a gleaming smile.
"Let's keep it up, Yamper! Use Discharge!" She shouts happily.
Yamper sparks with electricity, as the flaring shocks spread outward from his body into an electrifying bubble.
"Dracovish! Use Dragon Rush and push through it!" Ash tells him.
As the Discharge spreads out, Dracovish is enveloped once more in the aura of a dragon, then sprints forward and crashes against it. Although the power of the electric move was extraordinary...
"DRACO!" He breaks through the electricity and hits Yamper, who was sent flying backward.
Dracovish was just on another level compared to Yamper.
Chloe gasped, as her legs instinctively moved towards the floating Puppy Pokemon. She then jumped into the air to catch him, skidding across the ground in the process.
Yamper had swirls for eyes but quickly regained his senses. "Yam..." He looked very disappointed. But, when they got up, the other Pokémon were running over to him.
"Cu! Cubone!" "Gant! Liligant!" "Greedent!"
Yamper was confused. The smiles on their faces, the way they seemed impressed.
"Seems like you don't care whether you win or lose. The effort you put in seems to be what they look up to." Chloe explains.
The electric puppy looked on, before smiling brightly. Just then, Professor Cerise and Talia walk into the park.
"Hey, kids! Lunch is ready!" Talia calls out.
Chloe looks on, as she hears the sound of a Pokeball retrieving a Pokémon. She turns to see Dracovish retrieved and Ash walking over. He extends his hand out, with Chloe smiling and taking it, being pulled up.
"You and Yamper did great!" Ash praised. "Pika pika!" Pikachu agreed with his trainer.
"Eevui!" Even Eevee joined in.
"Thank you, Ash. I know I'm not on your level but..." She commented.
Ash waved his hand, however. "Sure, but if that were any other trainer near your level, you would've won no doubt. That has to mean something!"
Chloe pondered the statement, before nodding. "Yeah! I think you're right!"
Chloe and her family, along with Ash, were sitting and eating lunch for the day. Pikachu and Eevee were eating, while Yamper and Lucario were just sitting around.
"You and Yamper battled??" Parker asked Chloe, sounding rather astonished.
Chloe smiled brightly. "Yeah! He even learned a new move."
"It was incredible! Like *blam!*" Ash commented.
"Pika!" Pikachu said, agreeing with his trainer.
Professor Cerise and Talia looked at one another and laughed. "Didn't know little Yamper would be such a guard dog."
"Well, he wants to protect the Pokémon of the park. It makes all the sense to me!" Ash said.
As the five continue talking, Yamper waddles next to the professor, before jumping up and hitting his coat's pocket. A Pokeball fell out.
"Ah! Hey!" Professor Cerise looked on confused, as Yamper picked up the ball by the mouth and walked over to Chloe.
"Eevui?" Eevee looked at the Puppy Pokemon, rather confused.
Chloe did the same, tilting her head as the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. She was rather taken aback.
"Yamper... are you sure? Don't you want to stay and protect the park?" She asked.
Yamper nods, Chloe still looking on, before grinning. "I think I get it. You want to train to get stronger. To protect the others."
The Puppy Pokémon barks happily, indicating that she is right. The girl smiles, as she picks up the ball.
"Alright then. Dad? Is it alright if Yamper comes with me for a little while?" Chloe asked.
Talia and Professor Cerise look at one another, before turning back and smiling gleefully.
"I don't see why not." The Professor confirmed. "What about you, Parker?"
Parker, although a little saddened, still gave a huge grin. "If it's what makes Yamper happy, then I'm okay with it!"
Chloe feels satisfied, as she turns to Yamper, crouching down in front of him. "Let's get stronger together, Yamper."
She taps the Pokeball on his head as he then enters it. It didn't wiggle, as it was his original Pokeball, but something compelled her to do it. As a sort of confirmation.
"Awesome capture, Chloe!" Ash praised.
Chloe smirked. "I mean, it wasn't really a capture if he was already caught."
Ash shrugged. "True, but it's the actions that speak a ton! At least to me!"
Chloe looked at the boy and couldn't help but let out a laugh. "I guess you're right."
The two giggle as they then give each other a high-five, with Pikachu and Eevee doing the same. Yamper, on his own, came out of his Pokeball to join the high-five too.
Just then, the door to the lab opened.
"Hey, guys! I'm back!" Goh shouts. He then pauses to see everyone at the table.
"Oh! Looks like I came at a good time." Goh stated.
Ash and Chloe looked on with confused expressions. Pikachu and Eevee did the same.
"What are you doing back early, Goh? I thought you were visiting your parents." Ash inquired.
Goh nervously scratches the back of his head, sweat dripping down his face. "Well you see, to be truthful, I kinda started to miss you guys. So I came back early to reunite!"
Ash and Chloe stare at each other, before cracking a smile. The two then run over and hug Goh, which made the latter feel happy, a smile forming on his face too.
"Pika!" "Eevui!" "Yamper!" "Lucario!"
The Pokémon jumped in for the hug as well. Chloe's family couldn't help but have beaming smiles all around.
Chloe especially felt the happiest she had ever been. This group, her two arguably best friends. Especially Ash. Her feelings were recognized as pure delight. And she couldn't wait for whatever came next.
