CHAPTER 5

(QUAGMIRE'S P.O.V)

As I glanced around the restaurant which was Fuddruckers, after taking another gulp of my beer. Tonight was karaoke. Peter, Joe, Cleveland, along with their families were out enjoying the festivities. I realized despite being in a heart warming event, I was in a bad mood. To be frank, it was about Lois. Not the way you're thinking, because I have certainly learnt my lesson. Lois was having a dinner party, which she usually invited Joe, Cleveland and myself. I found out recently from Peter who, by the way, was not supposed to tell me. I understood that not every event Lois had she was obligated to invite me to, however I was puzzled and offended as to why there was so much secrecy.

"Goodnight everyone," Mr. Pewterschmidt greeted the audience. "This song is dedicated to all the underdogs." The music came on as if on cue. "You want to Bamba, you want to play with the big boys," Mr. Pewterschmidt sang (song by Nektunez ft. Goya) making the audience go wild. "Hey Quagmire," Lois greeted me as I took another gulp of my beer. "I've been so busy that I didn't get a chance to say hi." I glanced at her a moment then turned back to the stage in a bored manner. "I thought we were friends Lois," I said nonchalantly. I kept telling myself to let the matter go, however the alcohol started to loosen me up, which made me decide to confront her on the matter.

"Of course we are friends," Lois said, surprised at my statement. "Then why did you hide the fact that you are having a dinner party from me?," I said standing up, as I folded my arms, more upset now.

"Quagmire," Lois responded, then sighing uneasily. "I didn't invite you because my dinner party consisted of married couples," Lois explained. "So what?, you act like i've never been around married couples before." "Every wife on my guest list you have slept with," Lois informed him dryly. "What!,`` I exclaimed, not expecting that explanation. "See? This is why I didn't invite you. I didn't want to make you uncomfortable." "I'm sorry Lois if i jumped to conclusions," I apologized now getting the full picture. "But I can handle myself." "Ok," Lois chuckled, shaking her head, not convinced of my explanation. "What, I'm serious!." "Do you really think that's smart being in a room full of women who might possibly despise you?." "No but I want to prove something. I've changed Lois." Lois sighed and rolled her eyes. "Don't believe me?!, invite me and let me prove it." "You know what?, you're right, the dinner party is tomorrow night at 7pm. Be there on time, don't come crying to me after I warned you." Deep down I knew this wasn't a good idea, however I needed to prove this not only to Lois but to myself.
