CHAPTER 6

(Quagmire's P.O.V)

The night had finally arrived, of Lois's dinner party. I pulled into my driveway with my 1957 Chevrolet Bel air, accompanied by Chloe, who I recently picked up since this is our first date. To say that I was nervous was an understatement. The old Quagmire wouldn't have cared what impression he would have made. However the new me didn't want to embarrass myself, thus hurting Chloe in the process. I didn't even want to think about Lois. If i failed it would only prove Lois was right. Lois and I have been close friends quite sometime now, and it was obvious that she had long given up on me when it came to finding true love and marriage.

She wasn't the only one though, my close friends and family felt the same way as well. To be honest I was tired of letting everyone down…

Tired of letting myself down…

"If you like, our second date I could give you a tour of the plane's cockpit and fly us somewhere exciting." I offered, as we walked up to the Griffin's house. "That would be fun," Chloe smiled. "I'm looking forward to it." I then rang the doorbell, as we waited patiently. Seconds later the door opened to reveal Lois. "Glad you made it," Lois smiled warm heartedly standing aside for us to come in. The Griffin's living room had transformed from the average lower class American living room, to a well decorated sophisticated room.

"Wow Lois," I said, taking in the view. "You really outdid yourself this time." "Thanks," Lois smiled looking at her guests. There were about a dozen couples mingling with one another. "Oh where are my manners," I spoke up, glancing from Chloe to Lois. "Chloe, this is Lois Griffin, our hostess tonight, and one of my closest best friends." I introduced. For a split second I saw hesitation in both Lois and Chloe's eyes, which was weird. "Nice to meet you." Lois greeted Chloe. "Thanks for inviting me to your shindig," Chloe complimented Lois. Then there was an awkward silence. I frowned and glanced at Lois. "Oh i see a friend of mine, i'm going to say hi," Chloe stated and quickly headed over to say hi to her friend.

As soon as Chloe was out of earshot I turned to Lois. "You wanna tell me what the hell was that?" Lois sighed and took the last gulp of her drink. "Why would you do this Quagmire?," Lois asked matter of factly. "Do what?," I responded totally confused. "Why would you date Brian's ex Chloe Tanner." (Season 13 episode 2).

"Brian's ex…" I echoed staring at Chloe incredulously. This had to be Karma. Of all the women that I could pick from, why did the one I choose to make a fresh start with, have to be Brian's ex?!. This night wasn't going to end well. There's no way Lois was going to believe me considering my old ways. If anything she probably thought I was worse than shit now.

"Look Lois, I had no idea that Chloe was Brian's ex," I protested as Lois's eyes narrowed, suspicious of my protest. "Despite that being the case, I really want to date Chloe genuinely." "That's a terrible idea Quagmire!," Lois sighed in disbelief. "All the women who have dated Brian were floozies including Chloe." I sighed in defeat knowing very well that Lois was right. "To prove my point here comes Brian approaching Chloe. Let's move closer subtly, and listen to their conversation. You'll see why Chloe was a bad choice."
