Hello everyone. Nice to be with you. As always, many thanks for your appreciation for this story. I'm really touched that you liked it so much. If you have any ideas of your own for the next chapters, I'm always willing to listen. Special thanks to my dear friend Barbara, who gave my an inspiration for today's chapter. Hope you will like it ;-)

Each morning of their honeymoon, when Elsie was waking up, she felt, that she has never been that happy in her entire would wish those days could last forever and that they could stay here, all alone, without their job, problems and away from everyone else.

She watched sleeping Charlie and her heart was filled with pure love. She was wondering, how was it possible, that she had any doubts about marrying Charles? Maybe it was because they were both so happy and so very much in love and maybe it was because they were far away from every day burdens, but his grumpy side has vanished here and Elsie would want him to stay that way forever. Her sweet, dear Charlie...So tender and loving and making her every wish come true.

Everything about their stay here was simply wonderful. Days filled with laughter, great fun and various adventures-things they did here, would be unthinkable to do at the Abbey. Nights filled with love and passion, as they were uniting in the mutual goal of showing themselves how much they mean to each other.

When Charles started to wake up and the first thing that he saw, was the radiant smile of his wife, he couldn't help, but to have the same thoughts that he had everyday here, that it was the best time of his life. That he would have given his whole career and everything that he achieved so far, just to stay in Scarborough forever, with the love of his life. Undoubtedly, Elsie was the love of his life. Even though he knew her for so many years and he always enjoyed her company, this was something entirely new. To be here with her, spending magical days the way they wished and even more magical nights, was something that he never wanted to end...

"Hello my love...What caused such beautiful smile in the morning?"

"I'm not sure...Maybe it was that yesterday's lovely walk on the beach, or maybe the delicious dinner that we had last night, or maybe the fact, that I spent most of the night in the arms of my loving husband..."

"I'm voting for the arms of loving husband...It feels so good when you are nestling into me Elsie...Have you slept well?"

"Never better...When you are so close, I drift off to sleep so easily...Not like when I was alone and I was tossing and turning, trying to get myself into sleep..."

"Luckily for you my love you will never have to experience it again...I'm your best sleeping pill..."

"Not only Charlie, not only..."

"I should hope so, because beds like that are made for something more than sleep!"

"Mr Carson, this is quite an indecent talk for such an early hour.."

"Mrs Carson, I can certainly give you something more indecent if you like, I can give it to you right now..."

Charles started to tickle her sides and Elsie burst with laughter, asking him to stop...They were rolling in the sheets, feeling freely and light hearted, when their wonderful beginning of the day, was suddenly interrupted by the room service, who delivered their breakfast..

When they ate and decided to got up, they were hesitating what to do with such long and promising day and Elsie suggested, that they could visit the center of the town, just to look at the shop windows and Charles agreed...

They were walking across the town, when Elsie suddenly stood still, mesmerized by the sight of the dress, in the window of one of the shops, that they were passing. It was the most beautiful evening dress that she has ever seen. Elsie was not crazy about fashion, but this was a real piece of art...

Charles noticed her reaction and he instantly knew, that he has to buy it for her...However, he was aware, that it will be kind of a struggle, to convince his frugal wife, to spend money on something, that she will probably think of as unnecessary expense...

"Oh Elsie, this is such a beautiful dress...Do you see that color? It matches your eyes perfectly..."

"You really think so Charlie? It is lovely, but I'm sure it's rather expensive..."

"Elsie this is not important...I can see that you like it and I want to buy it for you..."

"Charlie, there is no need for you to spend your hard earn money on such trivial things..."

"There is every need...A big need of spoiling my wife...Elsie...Please, I want to see you in it..."

"Where am I even going to wear it Charlie? To the dinner at the hotel? It's too fancy..."

"I have an idea...Look Elsie, there is a concert here tonight, at this restaurant nearby...We could go and have our dinner here and listen to the concert...Look, it's right here on the poster..."

Elsie looked at this direction..She read it and a wide smile appeared on her face...

"Really Charlie? Jazz concert? Charles Carson wants to be at the jazz concert?"

"Oh, I didn't realize, that it's jazz concert...It really doesn't matter...We can go out and have fun...That's the idea of our trip anyway Elsie...To do the things we do not normally do?"

"I guess you are right, I would love to listen to jazz"

"In that case, you will allow me to buy you the dress?"

"All right Charlie, but just this once...We will not waste money for things like this..."

"Sweetie...A money spend on my beautiful wife are never wasted..."

Elsie finally gave up and they went to the shop and bought the dress, when Elsie tried it on, it fitted perfectly...

As they headed to an end of the day, they both took a bath, got dressed elegantly and went for a dinner at the restaurant...The dinner was delicious and they certainly didn't regret the decision about eating here... As soon as they finished eating a dessert, the band appeared...

Elsie looked closer and to her amazement, she noticed, that one of the players was Jack Ross, who they met at Downton a while ago...

"Look Charlie, it's Mr Ross...Do you recognize him?"

"Oh yes, that's him...What a coincidence!"

They looked at each other in astonishment and it didn't bother them to have some great fun...Elsie was really curious about it...Jazz was something new to her and something that she was curious about, because unlike Charles, she couldn't enjoy the music of Mr Ross when he was at Downton.

Charles was a little bit skeptical himself, but he decided to enjoy this moment. The sight of Elsie in her new, blue dress itself, was worth to come here...She looked so beautiful, that Charles still couldn't believe his own happiness...To be honest, he was more focused on Elsie, than on the music.

When the musician had taken a break, both Charles and Elsie were amazed, to see Mr Ross heading their way. He must have noticed them from the stage and he apparently wanted to say hello.

"Mr Carson, Mrs Hughes, you are the last people that I would expect to meet here...So good to see you..."

"Hello Mr Ross...We are quite happy to see you too..."-Charles shook hands with Mr Ross..."Just want to make a small correction here, Mrs Hughes is no longer Mrs Hughes, she is now Mrs Carson, my wife, we are here on our honeymoon.."

"This is such a great news! Congratulations to both of you! Mr Carson you made the best choice, I already noticed, how wonderful Mrs Carson was, when I visited Downton. You can consider yourself lucky!"

"That's exactly what I think Mr Ross and thank you very much.."-Charles was beaming from joy and pride...

"How are things with you Mr Ross? Is everything all right?"-Elsie asked...She always liked this young men...He had her sympathy from the start...

"Quite all right Mrs Carson, thank you...I'm still with the same band...We are taking a tour through England and trying to convince people, that jazz is not so horrible..."

"You are doing a very good job in that area Mr Ross...If Mr Carson is having fun, then you know that you won..."

"I'm glad to hear that...How is Lady Rose? I haven't heard from her for a while..."

"Very well...She got married and left for New York...She is very happy..."

"It's wonderful news...She deserves nothing less, as are you Mrs Carson...Once more congratulations for both of you...Will you excuse me, I have to get back to my band..."

"It was very nice to meet you again Mr Ross and we both wish you good luck in your life..."

"Thank you, that means a lot to me...Enjoy your evening..."

Jack Ross went back to the scene and Charles with Elsie continued their fun evening of jazz, when the concert ended, they left the restaurant, heading slowly to the hotel...

"It's really amazing that we met Mr Ross, isn't it Charlie? He seems happy and relaxed.."

"He does...I wish him well..He is a decent fellow...And his music is not that bad..."

"Quite a compliment Mr Carson..."

"Do you want to hear a real compliment Mrs Carson? You are the most beautiful woman in this town"

"Only in this town?"

"In the whole wide world...Thank you Elsie...For another unforgettable evening, that we spend together..."

"Thank you too Charlie...It was simply lovely and the best part is, that the evening is not over yet..."

"How long it is to our hotel?"-Charles asked impatiently and they both burst with laughter...He took her hand and they went back to the hotel, in the light of the shining moon...

That's all for today friends...I think, that it was a fun night for the Carsons...Charles listening to jazz...Boy, do I like to stretch the durability of his character in that story ;-) That's the whole point of it anyway...I want them to have fun and meeting Jack Ross was a cherry on the cake. Hope you liked it a bit and if so, you can always tell me...Have a nice weekend!
