After two months, I've finally got out of my writers' block and Chapter 6 is out! Sorry for the long wait. I plan on releasing a new chapter each weekend (As stated at the end of each chapter now), until this is complete! I'm also starting another PAW Patrol fan-fic about [my theory on] Skye's Backstory! visit my profile to see it!
Skye repeatedly dabbed Chase's bloody wound with the newspaper she covered with at night. Chase had been clawed by Waldo the cat attempted escape from Galvin's grungy garage.
"Okay," she said. "I think it's stopped bleeding now."
"Kay, but what will you use as your blanket tonight?" Chase inquired.
"I'll just use Liberty's," Skye lightheartedly replied. "And anyways, I'm sure they won't be coming back here."
Chase opened his mouth to possibly retort, but shut it back down.
"You know what, Skye?" he said
"What?" Skye answered
"Surely having somebody, like Zuma or Marshall here would be nice," Chase started. "But having you here is wonderful."
Skye responded, with pink cheeks: "Do you really mean that?"
Chase nodded, positively.
Skye hesitated for a second, then gave Chase a little lick on his nose. Chase's face changed from a rosy pink, to a bright red. For a moment, Skye thought Chase was overheating, but she realized it was just him blushing.
Their moment didn't last long, as Galvin busted open the door.
"Here's you grub," he murmured, as he set down a container of dog food for each pup. Chase sniffed it, reacting with disgust, while Skye reluctantly took a bite, and barely succeeded swallowing it.
Meanwhile, Liberty and Zuma were tiredly walking besides a road. They had successfully escaped from Waldo & Galvin, and spent most of the night traveling to get as far away as possibly from them.
"Hey, Zum'," Liberty said, trying to get Zuma's attention.
"Yeah?" Zuma replied.
"My paw's bleeding again,"
"Aw man…"
Liberty had severely scraped the front of her paw, during the escape from Waldo and Galvin. Zuma had been carrying Liberty on his back, up until only a half hour ago. Zuma stopped walking and inspected Liberty's paw. He scanned the area to find something to sop up the blood with, but stood unsuccessful. He thought about using leaves, but the only ones around were a part of a storefront display. Anything that could do the job would infect her paw, making the wound worse.
"I guess I'll just use my paw…" he announced.
Liberty responded with an unreadable expression.
Zuma dragged the front of his paw over Liberty's wound. The lukewarm blood on his paw didn't feel good, but he wanted to hide that. Over the last days he spent with Liberty, he had grown very fond of her. The last thing he wanted to do was make her doubtful in him.
"There," Zuma said. "I think it's done running now."
He shook his paw, then regretted doing so. The bit of blood that now speckled the sidewalk and white brick by them made it look as something bad happened.
"…Let's go before someone thinks I'm the one that hurt your paw," Zuma told Liberty.
Liberty climbed onto Zuma's back.
Then, just a few minutes into their walk, Liberty noticed something peculiar coming from an alley.
"Hey, Zuma. Look at that!" She pointed towards the alley.
Zuma saw it, too. They inched closer towards the alley, and were met by an array of emotions.
I'd be delighted if you left a review, follow, and favorite! I update this story every weekend!
