A/N: Hmmm so I was in the mood for something sad…
Miley stood looking out over the ocean. A tear ran down her face. From here on in, Life would never be the same. Not without her best friend by her side. A breeze stirred up, blowing her skirt around in the wind. It whipped around her legs, but she barely noticed. She was too wrapped up in her memories of Lily. She couldn't believe that she had literally taken a bullet for her.
It was just a concert… It was just a simple, Hannah Montana concert. Well, she was done with all that now. After all that had happened. She didn't think it was possible for someone to hate Hannah Montana so much to actually try and shoot her. And Lily had taken the bullet. She had been a true friend, and now… Now she was gone. And she was never coming back, no matter what.
She held a jar of her ashes in her hands. Lily had wanted her ashes spread out over the ocean. That's why Miley was even up here on this cliff in the first place. She looked down at the jar and thought about how two days ago that pile of ashes had been her best friend. She burst out in tears. She missed Lily.
She felt a hand on her shoulder. She hoped it wasn't her dad. He would be so mad if he found her up here. She turned around and found not her dad, but Oliver. From the looks of him, he had been crying too. He wiped her tears with his thumb and cupped her face in his hands. He tilted it upward so he could look down at her. Her eyes were still wet, and it looked like she could start crying again at every moment.
"Miley, were all gonna miss her…"
"I Know, Oliver, But I just can't get over it. She's never coming back, and its all my fault!"
"No! No, Miley, No! It wasn't your fault! It was that jerk who tried to shoot YOU!"
"Maybe… but they didn't even catch him!
"I know, I know… Well we can at least grant her her request. Do you have the jar?"
"Yes"
Opening the jar took forever. She kept having flashbacks of all her memories with her. The day they met, When she found out that Miley Was Hannah, The Camping Trip, And everything else… up to seeing Lily lying lifeless on the stage. Horrifying and Tragic. She shuddered, and broke down crying again. Oliver held her steady as she got the lid off. Then he put his arm around her waist, and they watched as what was left of their best friend floated down into the water.
Miley couldn't take it. She started sobbing hysterically. Oliver was crying now too. She buried her face in his shirt. He wrapped his arms around her, and held tight to her. He never wanted to let her go. After seeing what could've happened to her… What happened to Lily… He was scared.
And now that they had both lost their best friend… The only thing left of her was their memories.
"C'mon, Miles. Let's Go."
"Okay… I have to say goodbye to Lily first."
She walked over to the edge of the cliff to say her final goodbyes. She was never, ever going to see her again. That hurt. She looked over at the water. She would never think of the water as nice, calm, and peaceful again.
The breeze started again. This time calming her a bit. She realized that Lily would be okay up there. She would always miss her, but she was in a better place. One free of murderers, and bad people. And Guns.
"Goodbye, Lily…" she whispered, for the last time. "Goodbye."
"You Coming?" Oliver asked.
"Yes, I'll be right there."
Miley walked slowly over to where Oliver was, and they walked off just as the sun was setting.
A/N This story was so sad to write! If you want me to continue, I will. Just say the word! It can go either way. Its good just like this, or I have some ideas to continue it.
