Aboard a Smuggler's Space Station

Obi-Wan had made a deal he would have thought unthinkable before. Bail Organa had a contact: a space-craft smuggler. In return for his Jedi Starfighter – he anyway could not hold on to it in Imperial space – the smuggler, Robar would not report him to the Empire, and would allow him to board a supplies transportation that was headed for Eriadu.

The journey to the outer-rim in a vessel that didn't possess a hyper-drive would at least take a day.

"Well Master Jedi, you no longer are one. You're just a supplies worker carrying food and water. I daresay they may need it there soon." Robar smiled in mock courtesy.

Kenobi, a master of engaging in frivolous banter with the most dangerous foes and in the most dangerous situations, was not inclined towards it today. I will never recover, he thought. Even if… Anakin is defeated. Or captured. This will never end.

I have to rescue this girl. That's all that's on my mind and my goal right now.

Before he knew it, the supplies ship which he was not a crewman of was on its way. He covered himself with the faded brown cloak over his beige Jedi tunic.

"You're new here, friend," said a crewman, cheerfully. "Who would you be?"

Racing through his mind, the Jedi Master said, "Sheev." How in the galaxy the Emperor's first name came to be in his head, he couldn't fathom. Well, few knew the name; just as few knew his true as identity as… Darth Sidious.

"None of us can believe what's happening to our galaxy, Sheev. It's breaking down! It's gone.

"Now, there's some trouble in Eriadu too. I won't lie – I'm scared."

"If we're smart, we'll be safe." Obi-Wan only said that.

After a few moments the man said, "True… brother. I will try my best."

Obi-Wan merely nodded and then walked away.

His transmitter rang. It was Organa.

"Obi-Wan – there's been a hurdle in rescuing Voax's daughter. She's dead.

"But you will abandon not this mission, I know. Word around is that two Jedi were spotted in a rescue attempt. They're in the middle of the battle in the city."

I have come closer to the end goal, than I had just thought, Obi-Wan breathed in. I can only hope I am ready.
