CHAPTER 17
Gabby was quite worried, Matt was taking so long to arrive...
Besides, as soon as she got home started to rain... heavy rain, which could cause difficulty to drive...
Maybe, Anna had wakened up and asked him to stay with her, or he was stuck somewhere waiting for the rain to stop...
Gabby wanted to call, but he would be driving, he won't pick up her call. She was starting to sound desperate...
To calm down her nerves, Gabby decided to make a hot chocolate, the perfect drink for a cold night...
Minutes later, Gabby heard a knock at her door...her heart was heart beating fast, she was nervous, opening the door with a huge smile on her face...
"... Sorry to bother you, would have some sugar?" Mrs. Maggie, her neighbor, made the question.
"Sure, yeah..", Gabby said flat, "I'll be back...".
A moment later, Gabby was back with sugar... Mrs. Maggie thanked her and went back to her apartment.
One hour later, Matt hadn't called yet... Gabby drank all the hot chocolate she had made...
The few times she tried to call, her calls went to voicemail every time. Giving up, Gabby locked her front door, turned off the lights, then going to her bedroom, she put on her pajamas.
Laying back on her bed, she didn't feel sleepy but closed her eyes, tomorrow she is back to work, it was time to get some rest... A couple of minutes later she dozed off... Suddenly a knock woke her up, then another knock...
"Matt?!" she murmured.
Turning on her bedside lamp, Gabby sat down... putting on her robe, she walked out of her room, walking up to the front door, on her way Gabby turned on the lights, next she opened the door.
"Matt...", she whispered.
"Sorry for taking so long...", he was soaked from the rain, though the small bouquet in his hand caught Gabby's attention as well...
"Come in, I was so worried...", Gabby admitted.
"I was buying these flowers when started to rain... I got stuck at the store. Finally, when I was on my way here my tire flattened... Were you sleeping? Of course, you were...".
"It's okay, don't worry about me...", she wiped his face with her hands.
"Tomorrow I'll buy you more flowers these are not that great anymore...," he said embarrassed.
"I loved them, please give me them...", Gabby took the flowers from him
Opening his jacket, "Look, I managed to save them...," he said smiling. It was a chocolate box.
"I can't believe you thought in everything, and as much as I wanted to kiss you right now, we have to dry you off, we won't have you sick, not on my watch... I'll get a towel for you... Take off your clothes...".
When Gabby came back she was him only in his underwear.
He put his clothes on a pile, "Gabby?", she stood there staring at his body.
"Babe...", that word grabbed her attention.
"Yes? Yeah... here the towel... I have this t-shirt and pants, I think they fit you...", she turned around to give him some privacy.
"Thank you...".
"I'll be in the kitchen...".
She made more hot chocolate for him. Minutes later...
"... think this will warm you up. Give me your clothes, I will put them in the dryer...".
When Gabby walked back, Matt was drinking his hot chocolate as sat down on the couch.
"Come here", he said.
Smiling at him, Gabby got closer, and Matt pulled her to sit on his lap. Wrapping an arm around her waist, Gabby threw an arm around his shoulders.
Touching his chin, "... I thought you weren't coming...".
He frowned, "... And miss this?" he referred to the mug in his hand.
Gabby scrunched her nose, as slid her fingers into his hair.
"I would come even if I have to fight beasts and dragons...," he joked.
"You'd be my hero...", Gabby gave him a peck on the lips. "I need to know...", Gabby had a serious expression, "... you forgive me for before I-", Matt silenced her with a wet and long kiss.
Pulling back, "... We are starting over today...".
Gabby nodded as cupped his neck, moving in his lap to straddle position.
Smiling, Gabby brushed her lips against his, she opened her mouth to welcome his tongue...
Matt circled her waist with his arms, there is no space between them...
Moaning Gabby tilted her head to give Matt access to her neck, where he gave her several open mouth kisses...
Gabby gasped when he licked her neck, her underwear was wet already, "... we have shift tomorrow...", though her words didn't stop his moves, and he went back to kiss her on the lips...
Wrapping her arms around his neck...
Out of breath, "Let's call sick tomorrow...", Matt suggested.
"I wish... remember... we are good citizens... we do our ...", she said between kisses.
"Okay, Gabriela Dawson...", he pouted.
"Call me Gabby...", she said caressing his chest up and down.
"Gabby... Baby...".
"I like that...", they a couple of times.
"... Ready to sleep?" Matt massaged her back up and down.
"I'll get you a pillow and a blanket...", Gabby stood up, went to her bedroom, and came back quickly.
Pushing herself up on her feet, Gabby have Matt one last kiss. "Good night...".
A few hours later... the sound of thunders woke up Gabby..., frightened she got up and headed towards the living room...
Another thunder broke the silence inside the apartment...
"Gabby?" Matt squinted his eyes at her.
"... I woke up with the rumbling thunders, this thunderstorm is far from over, would you like to join me in my bedroom, ..".
Getting into a sit position, Matt smiled softly at her. intertwining their hands, Gabby led him to her room...
"Thank you...", Gabby looked over at him.
"I'll protect you...", Matt cuddled her and kissed her head.

Matt woke up early because he had to go home to shower up and change his clothes... Matt informed Gabby he was leaving.
When Gabby arrived at 51 she couldn't find him... He was late...
Shay and Gabby were doing the inventory when he showed up, they exchanged a look, keeping things professional, then Matt went straight to his office.
Gabby was writing down on the checklist when her phone buzzed in her back pocket.
Matt had sent a message asking her to go to his office.
"... You can take from here? I need to go to the bathroom...".
"Yeah... Go ahead...".
Gabby knocked on his door, opening it, she closed after.
"Morning... again...", they kissed on the lips. Gabby grimaced, "your lips are warm...". Gabby put the back of her hand against his forehead, "... I think you have a fever... How do you feel?".
"I'm feeling hot, but I think it's because of you...", he laughed and kissed her.
"Matt, I'm serious. Wait here...". Gabby came back with a thermometer.
"Let's check your temperature...".
"You will be my nurse?", he asked pouting.
"Would you like that?" Gabby rested her hands on his hips.
"Yeah...", Matt licked his lips.
"Let me see the thermometer...".
"Oh, you are sick, I'll give you something, if you don't get better we talk to Chief Boden, okay?".
"You're the boss here," he said pulling her into his arms.
"Really?" she laughed.
They kissed a couple of times, then locking eyes, "What I'd do without you here?" angling his head to give her one more kiss...
Abruptly the door was open, "Casey and Dawson, what are you two doing?" someone in shock exclaimed.
