If it starts with an A and ends in Lagaesia, CP owns it.
By the time we had let everyone know and landed, it was well into night. It was decided we would check on it in the morning. But all the two-legs were more attentive in looking for danger that night.
There was also this weird... smell in the air. It was musty, I think? Ive never smelt it before. It was almost like... Eragons feer after a bad day of walking or his spars.
Regardless the next day saw us up bright and early with the sun. Saphira and I flying above to guide the walkers below to the hut we found yesterday.
Man, I would give a scale or two, for a saddle. This is much to slow for my liking. I said to Saphira.
There was a couple smoke rings that flew from her nostrils from her laugh. A Dragon willing to part with a scale. Are you sure youre a real Dragon.
I snorted at that. Of course im a real Dragon. Youve seen how I hunt and wrestle. Can you deny it?
She side-eyed me while flying. I supposed I cannot. She finally replied.
Of course. I let out a mechieveous grin. But since we are on the subject, you should take more care of your own scales. I can see from here that many are dirty.
It was very amusing watching her frantically search for her dirty scales. What a vain Dragon.
It took her longer than I would have thought to figure out I was jesting. But afterwards, was a tiring exercise of trying to dodge the best flyer I knew. Taking a couple draconic body slams while in flight.
Eventually a call came from Arya to decend, putting and end to our ariel game.
Descending through the tree tops, I touched down gently, and as quietly as I could near my Rider. Giving a happy hum as she stroked my snout.
"The hut is just on the other side of this brush, we aren't sure who lives here so let's error on the side of caution." He looked pointedly at us Dragons. "Dont show yourself unless necessary."
I gave a slight nod, even if I felt uncomfortable letting Arya go in there without me.
See if they have any leather we can trade for. I would be happy to hunt new deer to replenish their stock.
Brom just gave me a deadpan look, apparently he was getting tired of this line of thought. "Yes, yes, fine." He mumbled as the two humans and elf walked away. Saphira and I hiding in the brush.
It was maybe only five minutes later that I started to get vary degrees of anger, slight panic, and impatience flowing through our bond.
What's going on? I asked, with no response. I waited for a few moments just keeping my mind on what she was feeling, ready to leap into the air in a matter of seconds. My claws were digging into the earth, crushing small dead branches on the ground. I gave a slight growl as I slapped my tail on the ground in my impatience.
Everything is all right, we are on our way back, stay there. Just as I was about to say fuck it and fly there.
I pretty much gave the equivalent of a grumble for a Dragon. However that works. And settled down to wait, Saphira seemed a little leary of her. Although I can't really blame her, I don't think I've felt that agitated before, at least since becoming a Dragon.
Can you tell what happened Saphira?
She looked at me and I could feel her confusion. How would I? Ive been here with you the whole time.
He didnt tell you either?
No, he just told me he was comming back around when you settled down. What was that about anyway?
I felt that Arya was angry and slightly panicked, so i was getting ready to fly to them. I told her. You didnt feel anything from Eragon?
I felt more of her confusion. No... Should I have?
Now I knew that Riders of old, from the books I had read, that Dragon Riders shared practically everything. But I didnt need her know that.
I... Dont know. I told her. All I know is that ever since I hatched Arya and me are always sharing with each other. When we are apart its mostly emotions, Unless something exciting or memorable happens. Then we'll share memories. Except for a few I believe. Some I keep for myself, and others she for her. It just feels... Right, to me.
She looked at me for a moment before she looked away, assumingly thoughtful, hard to tell with Dragon facial features.
It wasnt long after that our wingless companions ambled through the bushes. Brom looked grouchy, but I mean that was basically his default. Arya had a tightness to the features in her face, and Eragon had-
IS THAT LEATHER!? They had some? Is it for saddles? I turned to my Rider. Is it? We will fly soon?
"Not now Silvren, later. For now go catch us two full grown deer. You cannot damage anything but the head. Think of this as precision training, Saphira go with him and help."
But-
She placed a hand on my snout, looking into my eyes. Please my friend, we are all in a foul mood right now. Give us time to clear our minds. This needs to be done regardless, its payment for the leather.
I looked back into her eyes for a few seconds, before letting out a breath, ruffling her hair. It got a slight upturn to her lips.
Of course.
Thank you.
I hummed a calming sound, or what I thought was one, for her. I could feel her appreciation, before pulling away and taking flight. Saphira not far behind me, on our way to catch a couple of deer for some reason.
I was gonna write a bit more at the end here. But if i didnt end it here i would of had to keep going, and for some reason long chapters are so... i dunno lol. harder to write? im basically pulling most this out of my butt while on smoke breaks or before work lol so. anyway that was a ramble O.o
