HEY GUYS!
It's TheDL2912 here!
You might have heard this phrase over and over again, so let me say it again.
The words "I'm sorry" are not big enough for leaving you guys hanging when it comes to writing my fanfics. Rest assured, a lot has happened since my last update. So, here we go!
Back in 2018 after I uploaded the last chapter, I was just writing the next one when we got the worst news of all time: we lost Stan "The Man" Lee.
If you guys have been immersed with the comic book world or the Marvel Universe, then you would understand how deeply upset when this happened. This caused me to not only grieve in private like all of you guys, but it causes me to halt my stories. I have to say that I wanted to meet the man himself but just like Robin Williams, I will never get that chance. He has touched our hearts in so many ways. It is such a joy and an honour to have a hero like him in life. Please keep making more comics up there for God to enjoy!
2019 came along and I decided to get back into writing. I managed to do only a little bit. That is when I hit the writer's block. How many times is that? I do not know. I lost count after 5 or 10. Anyway, it is hard to get the motivation on, to get the ball moving and also, more ideas are coming and going for who know how many times.
But something good also happened. After 6 six years, my brother has FINALLY tied the knot with the love of his life. We had the wedding at the beautiful Hamilton Island where we spent a great week there. The beach, the sun, the resort, the wedding. It was all amazing. You guys should really check it out when you have the chance. Also, I worked on my videos which there were a lot if you are subscribed to my YouTube channel.
I thought 2020 would be a clean slate. Guess again.
First off, the bushfire here in down under happened (No big surprise as every summer is always bushfire season. But every year, it has been very severe with the whole global warming rising and climate change is the cause of it all. I am trying to educate myself to better understand it and find ways to fight back). I do believe our planet will be saved. We just need to work together.
I'm not a huge basketball fan or player but Kobe Bryant, his daughter, Gigi, and a few others who died in that helicopter crash was devastating. I have played netball for years and a bit of basketball in high school so I am a bit sad that we have lost a great icon and it must very hard to lose not just one but two family member in either the same day, timeline or place. Believe me, I have been there with my relatives. Whenever you guys are shooting hoops, wearing the Lakers jersey or something yellow and purple, always think of the Black Mamba himself.
And then,…the whole world went on a lockdown. Lives were loss, everyone had to stay home. Not to mention, jobs were also as many others have to step down. I have to temporarily leave my two jobs for a while but at least I have my supermarket one. That kept me busy and finance-wise (sorry if that work didn't make any sense at all).
And you would think I would be using the time to get back into it. Right? Nope. Wrong again. The company I work with was given the contract to work with the City of Melbourne to sanitize the city. You would have seen us walking around CBD; wearing the yellow vests, wiping down crossing buttons, poles, benches, doorknob, and handles. I started at early April and I must travel into the city almost every day at 6 in the morning. Good hours, money and great experience to add to the resume. We are also the "Unsung Heroes of COVID" if you haven't seen the news. I am one of them! And so is my mother who is working as a nurse at an old folks home.
Another death has actually rocked me. Hard. Chadwick Boseman. Do I need explain how devastating this news is to me? I was just finishing off work for the day, got on social media to see what's happening in the world to see Chadwick and Black Panther treading on Twitter to find out the news.
The Black Panther star's death was very unexpected but understandable. I do know what it is like to lose someone to this deadly and horrible disease. If you guys remember back in 2014, I lost my nana to Cancer and it was tragic for me and for my family. We all clearly had no idea that he was sick and for four YEARS! He was doing all those movies during those time and fighting it like a hero. He did lose a lot of weight and my first thought was is he losing weight for a movie role. When the news of how he died came to light, it all came rushing back of the memories of my Nana. Losing weight is one of the signs of cancer. Please, make sure to get yourself check out for any signs or any symptoms for any form of cancer. It might just save your life. My heart goes to the family, friends and co-stars of the man himself. I do hope Stan is taking good care of you. Wakanda Forever, my King.
(Why. Why do we have to lose so many good people in the world and left us with the crappy ones? *looks up to God*. You better explain, man? Heaven better be a party up when we get up there.)
2020 may have been a bitch in some cases,…but there are some are worth telling.
Before the world went on lockdown because of COVID, I manage to go to Supanova in the city to meet the one and only KEVIN EASTMAN! That's right! The co-creator of TMNT has taken a trip to Australia to spread Turtle Power! I managed to use the time before to create my Ninja Turtle cosplay (I went as Leonardo at the con and the man himself loved it!) I might fix it up next year and maybe go as Jennika (the new NT on the block if you guys haven't read the latest IDW comics) next year or the year after that. But that's not all!
At Christmas of 2019, my family has received the best news that spark some good vibes.
WE ARE HAVING A BABY!
It was an early Xmas present and the best one that yet. She was born in August 2020 and she goes by the name Matilda. We call her Tilly. I might call her MJ when she gets older but we'll see. But we didn't get to meet her until she was three-months old as the boarders were closed between Victoria and NSW. My sister and mum were the first one who went up and my dad and I went up the next week as I have my last day of school to finish.
And I finally had a chance to meet her at last just last weekend. And she was the most ADORABLE THING I HAVE EVER MET! I can't wait for her to come down. She won't be celebrating her first Christmas with us but my birthday is straight after that so that's something to look forward to.
And also,…where is the line to kick the Orange Oommpa Loompa out of the White House cause WE GOT A NEW PREZ IN THE HOUSE! Yes, that's right! If you haven't been paying attention or don't watch news or don't like politics, you should know that Joe Biden is your 46th president! Man! I speak for everyone when I say, "Talk about a heavy weight off your shoulders and can finally breath easy again". And I have been hearing that some of you guys don't really like Biden, but he's a better choice than having someone like Trump being the leader of the Free World, am I right?
I am also on tiktok if you guys want to add me. It is almost the same as my Twitter handle ( zowise/jop/risefam/blm). Just take out the forward slash "/" and that's me!
Hopefully, I will get either a chapter or two up before the year has ended and I do hope 2021 would be fresh start. I might also rewrite some chapter on past stories as I wanted to fix them up. So, I might take care of those first before I get back into the others.
I hope that everyone is hanging in there after everything that we have been through this year. And remember: The first rule of 2021 is that we do NOT talk about 2020.
Until we meet again,
The DragonLord2912
