Chapter 8: Allies Good and Bad

Ash and May met up back up with the others and they headed to the police station. Ash looked at it from a distance and took a deep breath.

"Wow. That sure brings back a memory huh Pikachu?" he asked.

"Pika?" it looked at him in confusion.

"Oh right. You were unconscious," Ash said.

"What are you talking about?" May asked.

"Oh well this is the first Officer Jenny I ever met," Ash said. "Remember I told you that story about how Pikachu and I got attacked by Spearows?"

Both she and Max nodded, as they'd heard the story of that on their trip to the Tree of Beginning. Dawn however listened carefully as she hadn't heard it before.

"It was the day I arrived in Viridian City. I was running down the hill trying to get to the Pokemon Center so Pikachu could be healed. He was really hurt badly from the battle with the flock of Spearows. I was grabbed by my first ever Officer Jenny from behind as I was running. She thought I might have been stealing Pikachu. But then I showed her my pokedex which was also my ID and she took us down there herself."

They entered the station and found Norman and Brock sitting down with Officer Jenny who was on her lunch break. Croagunk stood behind Brock's chair, a poison jab ready to hit should Brock try to flirt.

"Well well! Ash Ketchum!" the 'first ever' Officer Jenny said. "It's been a long time!"

"It sure has Officer Jenny! I've seen at least a hundred of your cousins across all the regions!" Ash said.

"Seems only yesterday you came down the road with that Pikachu in your arms! I see its still with you!" she noted seeing him.

"Pika!" the mouse Pokemon greeted.

"So, I hear from Norman here that you've been made a prime target by Team Rocket!" Jenny said.

"Yeah, I can deal with the usual three but they said their boss is targeting me now. So..."

"Team Rocket's Boss huh?" Officer Jenny said. "Well in that case, I'd like to offer you guys a police escort to Pallet Town. But there is something else, Ash." Officer Jenny said.

"What is it?" Ash asked.

"I've heard a lot about you from my cousins in all the regions. You've lent us a hand more times than all of us could. How would you like to become an honorary member of the Pokemon Police Force?"

Everyone gasped.

"Really?" Ash asked.

"You assisted us so many times. I'd say you're more than qualified. You're already pretty much an unofficial police as it with all the help you've given the law. So, what do you think?"

"I'm not sure," Ash said. "I mean, I'm trying to become a Pokemon Master after all."

"Well, you don't need to answer right away. As for becoming a Pokemon Master well, you can still be that. Besides, Pokemon Masters are often called upon to help us in times of trouble."

"That's right. I've worked with the Officer Jenny in Petalburg city to catch a criminal or two," Norman said. "It provides a nice little bonus to your salary as well."

"That's true," Brock said.

"Well just think about it Ash," Jenny said.

A limo was brought to the police station with two police cars escorting it. The limo could fit seven people altogether. Perfect for Ash, May, Max, their parents, Brock and Dawn to all fit in comfortably. They drove to Pallet Town.

"Hmm… it's kind of strange. We haven't seen any Team Rocket members since we were in the Diglett Cave," Brock said.

"Maybe Jessie and James were just pulling our legs and trying to get us worried!" Max said hopefully.

"I hope so. Or maybe they're putting together some evil plan to really get us!" May wondered.

"Hey, they said they were after Ash not us! So, no need to worry!" Dawn said her usual catchphrase.

"Don't forget Dawn they've always tried to steal our pokemon when they have the chance even if their main target is usually Pikachu!" Brock said.

"Uh-oh."

After about an hour they came to Pallet Town, the cars pulled up in front of Ash's home. The group got out and Ash immediately ran to the door. He opened it.

"Mom!"

"Ash!"

She walked into the entry room, Mr. Mine behind her.

"Oh thank goodness!" Ash said as he saw her. "I was worried that maybe something bad might happen to you. Maybe Jessie and James were just pulling our legs."

Then someone else came into view behind Delia Ketchum and her pokemon assistant. A girl with orange hair tied in a sideways.

"Ash!" she said.

"Misty!" Ash greeted.

They hadn't seen Misty since the Mirage Pokemon Incident back when Ash and Brock had been traveling with May. The coordinator looked at the Water type Gym Leader with a bad feeling. That she had competition for Ash.

In Giovanni's office, the leader of Team Rocket waited for his newest ally to come in. The door opened and he smiled as two people entered. One a fit looking blonde woman in a black Team Rocket uniform. His right-hand agent, Double O-Nine Domino. Beside her was a very large older man with a blue beard, which was Giovanni's cue she'd succeeded in the mission he'd sent her on only days ago.

"Aw. Welcome. Thank you for bringing him Double O-Nine," Giovanni said.

"Sir," she said.

"Well Phantom the Pirate… I heard you were imprisoned thanks to Ash Ketchum. This could very well be your chance at revenge," Giovanni said.

The giant man who had tried to steal the Sea Crown clenched a fist. "There are two types of men in this world. Those that are strong enough to get revenge, and those that suffer from revenge! I will be the one who gets revenge! On that boy and his bandana wearing girlfriend! They'll pay for taking the Sea Crown from me and locking me behind bars!"

"You'll get your revenge, I promise. As for the Sea Crown I cannot offer anything in that regard. Though if you agree to work for me I could use someone of your experience to lead a sea base."

Phantom huffed. "Fine. If I can at least have a shot at those two!"

"You will, but don't bang up Ash Ketchum too bad. I have plans for him and his Pokemon," Giovanni stated.

Uh-oh Phantom has entered the story as well! I thought it would be fun to have him come in as he was the main antagonist of my favorite movie, Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea in which Ash and May co-starred. Boy he gave me chills when I reread his dialogue. I also included Domino from Mewtwo Returns. Hope you guys enjoy these villains and their parts to come. Will Mewtwo and Manapy return in this fanfic? Probably, wait and see.
