Chapter Ten A Double Confession
Thank you to the person who answered my question last time on Ash not needing to store a pokemon away. I will have to make some edits to the earlier chapters as I mentioned he had Staraptor and Gliscor at the same time but in the chapter where he saves May but I forgot about Glyscor in the previous chapter. Ah well, that's been corrected.
Officer Jenny observed the security camp around the Ketchum residence.
"Get some of those listening machines up! I want to hear inside the house as well just in case Team Rocket manages to come inside!" She ordered.
"Yes ma'am!" Two of her officers said.

Misty took Ash upstairs to his bedroom. She closed the door most of the way behind them as she did so.
"Misty, what's this about?" Ash asked. "I'm starving and ready for my mom's snacks!"
"Pika! Pi!" Pikachu agreed from Ash's shoulder, he was hungry too.
"Do you think about anything but your stomach?" Misty asked with an annoyed expression. She recalled the endless times Ash would bring up food during their travels.
"Of course, being a Pokemon Master!" Ash said immediately.
Misty sighed. "Some things never change huh?"
"So… what did you want to talk about?" Ash asked.
Neither of them saw a young brunette girl with a green bandana on her head peeking through the slightly open door.
Misty blushed. "I-I…"
"What?" Ash asked.
"I… I like you, Ash Ketchum!"
The words hung in the air for a moment. Ash looked at her in disbelief, an expression shared by Pikachu. May, meanwhile, cringed. She'd feared this from the moment she saw Misty in Ash's house. Now she had a love rival, one that was legal age to date Ash while she still had a bit over six months!
"And in case you're your usual dense self. Let me make this clear," Misty continued before Ash could respond. "I like you… as more than a friend."
Even as dense as Ash could be, that made it through his thick skull.
"That means you like me… AS A BOYFRIEND?" Ash asked.
"Yes," Misty said.
"Pika?" Pikachu uttered.
She nodded, her face a bright shade of red. "You… you've always been a bit of a special person to me. Sometimes you would drive me crazy… but at the same time I've… never known anyone like you."
She used the exact words she'd said to herself all those years ago when Ash had evolved his Caterpie into a Metapod and he'd said hello to it so eagerly. That must have been the time when she'd begun falling for him. He cared so deeply about his Pokémon, and even if he was reckless and even stupid at times, he was also selfless and never gave up.
"Misty… I… I don't know what to say," Ash said, as he too blushed.
Ash had never really given romance much though. He'd always been more focused on catching and training Pokémon. That had been his only real dream, he'd never really thought about the possibility of someday falling in love, getting married, and having children.
"You seriously didn't realize it after all that time we traveled together? Well guess you still need about a million years to become a Pokémon Master!" Misty teased.
"Hey!" Ash said.
"Just kidding!" she said. "But I did send you a couple hints! You remember when a girl actually fell for Brock and wanted to marry him? That got me talking about us being married someday too."
Ash had practically forgotten about that. He hadn't had time to question Misty due to something coming up right after she said that, and that saying had been driven out of his mind.
"And I was really upset when my sisters called me back to the Gym and I had to stop traveling with you. But what really upset me was when I got my old bike back and you said I could be on my way quicker," Misty said as some tears appeared in her eyes at the thought. "It made me feel like I was just the girl following you because you destroyed my bike!"
"I'm sorry Misty, I didn't mean it like that," Ash said with a remorseful expression.
"I know," Misty said.
"Misty you were always one of my best friends. I-"
May couldn't take anymore.
"Ash!" she walked into the room.
"May?" Ash exclaimed in surprise.
The young Pokémon Coordinator knew that it was now or never. She didn't care about the age gap anymore. Whatever came she had to confess.
"Ash, I like you too!" May practically screamed.
"What?" Ash and Misty both exclaimed.
"Pika?" Pikachu looked petrified now.
May now turned red as well. She'd just confessed at last! It hadn't gone like she'd hoped.

Outside Officer Jenny listened to this conversation with interested eyes.
"Perhaps we should turn this off for now Officer Jenny," one of her deputies suggested. "I feel a little wrong about eavesdropping on private conversations."
"No keep it going. We will not bring this or any of their conversations we hear up in discussion," Jenny said before adding. "Unless they happen to discuss something that goes against the law."
Unfortunately, that happened all too quick.

Ash stood between two girls that had just admitted to liking him. Pikachu remained on his shoulder, just as shocked as his trainer. What was Ash going to do?
"Hey no fair May! Did you just follow us up here to spy on my confession?" Misty asked angrily.
"Yeah! I was planning to confess my feelings for Ash sometime during the stay!" May shouted.
"Well back off he is mine!" Misty said taking Ash's arm.
"He is not! You are not his girlfriend yet!" May shot back as she took Ash's other arm.
"Maybe not! But you're just thirteen and he's nearly sixteen! You can't legally date him!" Misty reminded her. "But I can!"

Jenny heard that and frowned. "I have to see to this."

"I'll be fourteen in just a few months!" May said. "I'd planned to tell Ash now and ask him if he'd be my boyfriend from then on! But now you've forced my hand!"
"Well sorry to ruin what could have been a perfect confession! Like you did! Now if you don't mind I was waiting to hear Ash's answer!"
"Girls, please!" Ash tried to mediate the situation. "We got a party downstairs! Can't we just hold off on this?"
Misty and May for the first time in their friendship, glared laser eyes at each other. Then suddenly the door to Ash's room opened and Delia, Norman, and Caroline all appeared.
"We thought we heard raised voices! What is going on in there?" Delia asked. "There's a party waiting for you downstairs Ash! Professor Oak and Tracy have just arrived as well!"
Norman meanwhile, frowned upon seeing May in Ash's bedroom, clutching Ash's arm. "May, get out of there!"
May looked at Ash who looked very confused, no surprise given the pressure of having two girls fighting over him.
"May, do as your father says," Caroline said.
While she supported her daughter's pursuit of Ash wholeheartedly, seeing her in a bedroom (where one could do very intimate things) was cutting it a little close even for her taste. Norman had agreed to let his daughter date Ash when she turned fourteen, if he accepted her, but until her next birthday they would have to remain friends. May hesitantly let go of Ash, leaving Misty there clutching his other arm. She'd not imagined this being the circumstances of her confessing her feelings. She'd imagined it being less… forced. Hearing Misty confess had forced her into action. She'd been afraid of this happening, but prayed Ash would remain dense and luckless until her next birthday.
Ash looked at Misty, then pulled his arm out her grasp (to her disappointment). He slowly walked out of his room, suddenly less eager for the food which only minutes ago had been the number one thing on his mind. Now he had two girls in his head, girls that were his best friends, and they had special feelings for him. What was he going to do?
As he stepped out of his room though, Officer Jenny suddenly came up the stairs.
"Alright, who is the girl too young to date Ash?" she asked.
Uh-oh Jenny heard it! Now what's gonna happen? Is May or even Ash gonna be arrested? Find out next Sunday night or Monday morning. Those should be the times when this fanfic updates for a little while now. I've decided to put my Star Wars Self Insert fanfic on hold for a little while as I've gotten another day at work and my schedule has been reworked so working on three fanfiction stories plus my original work at once was too much. Please review and I will work on editing past chapters as well as this one at some point when I can.
