This started as something small and then it got away from me.
It was almost a nightly ritual to sit together on the couch of the Vega residence watching tv. It had started as a way to get to know each other and establish a friendship, but it became so much more as time together increased. It was strange now, looking back, that they ever disliked each other. Their friendship became a relationship that neither of them had seen coming. Of course, their dynamic didn't change much. Jade still liked to mess with Tori, but as always, and to Jade's satisfaction, she would retaliate. It was part of why she fell for her in the first place. She seemed gentle and peaceful, but boy was she feisty when the situation called for it. Jade liked to push her buttons solely to see her reaction. Tori started catching on and refused to give her the satisfaction of a reaction beyond agitated, but that didn't stop Jade from trying new ways. Today they had gotten into a disagreement over who could outsmart the other. Jade clearly thought she would be the victor, but Tori was confident that she would be.
"There's no way you could outsmart me, Vega. You can't even pull off a simple prank," Jade pointed out. Tori frowned.
"I can too be tricky! Just because I don't come up with the best pranks-"
"You thought switching Trina's favorite lip balm with a knock off was a good prank," Jade interrupted, unimpressed.
"That's because it was! You don't know Trina like I do. She completely spazzed out when she realized it wasn't the real deal," Tori disagreed, crossing her arms. Jade rolled her eyes.
"Whatever," she grumbled, sliding down in her seat and resting her feet on the coffee table. Tori grumbled under her breath and slapped at Jade's thigh.
"Off," she demanded.
"Make me," Jade snapped back, her eyes never leaving the tv, yet a smirk pulled at her lips. Tori fumed but stopped herself from letting her temper ignite. Jade was purposely trying to goad her. Instead of getting angry, she would get even. And maybe prove her pranking mastery. She smiled slyly as she returned to watching the tv, ignoring Jade completely. Jade glanced at her, intrigued and confused by Tori's lack of reaction. She wondered what she was playing at until her phone vibrated from its place on the kitchen counter.
When she came over, the first thing she needed to do was put it on a charger before it died. It was left there ever since. But the reminder of its location caused Jade to get up and see why it was going off. She wasn't terribly punctual when it came to going home, but angering her parents was sure to get her in trouble which would keep her from seeing Tori. So, with a sigh she trudged over to see if one of her parents were calling her home so soon. She picked up the device and looked over the few notifications. She found the text icon and opened it up. It was from Tori.
While you're in there, could you grab the chips? Thanks! ;{)
It took Jade a moment to realize what happened. Tori knew she was always on pins and needles, waiting for her parents to ruin her fun. The little gank knew she had no choice but to get up to check her phone. She capitalized on it by expecting her to fulfill her request for a snack. Tori smirked knowingly from her place on the couch. Her phone tucked close to her side and out of view. She was aware how Jade hated to get up for no reason. The text was a trick. Now she had a choice. She could deny Tori's request and sit back down, or she could make the trip useful and grab the chips sitting right in front of her before returning. Jade gritted her teeth, wanting so badly to go back without them, just to rub it in Tori's face that her scheme hadn't worked. But then she would have gotten up for nothing. She growled under her breath, agitated that Tori had actually done it. She tricked her and she walked into it so blindly.
"You okay in there, Jade?" Tori called to her, mirth poorly hidden in her voice. Jade made her decision and snatched the bag off the counter. She stomped back into the living room and sat down heavily next to Tori but kept space between them. Tori held out her hand expectantly, a smile on her face, but Jade ignored it. Instead, she popped open the bag and started eating the chips herself.
"Hey!"
"Oh, did you want some?" Jade asked innocently, eating another. Tori glared and Jade chuckled.
"You thought you could get away with it without some kind of retaliation? As if," Jade sneered, throwing a chip in her mouth and biting down slowly to tauntingly draw out the crunch. Tori's eyes dropped to her mouth before zeroing in on her eyes.
"I'm not done yet," she vowed.
"Face it, Vega. You're plan backfired," Jade drawled, another chip in hand. Tori reached over and crushed it, sprinkling the remains on Jade's lap. Her eyes widened at the mess before narrowing at Tori.
"You didn't," she stated evenly.
"Oh, I did," Tori challenged. Jade lifted the bag, fully intending to crush them all in her iron grip, but Tori shoved her over in an attempt to wrestle them away from her. In the tussle, they were beyond saving. Most ended up scattered across the couch and floor by the time Tori could free the bag from Jade who laughed at her failure. Tori huffed out a breath and tossed the bag then tackled Jade, forcing her on her back.
"You make me so mad," she hissed through her teeth, pinning Jade and leaning so close their noses brushed. Jade gasped out an exhale, amused and pleased.
"Wipe that dang smirk off your face! I won!" Tori stated firmly, fingers digging into Jade's shoulders.
"I admit, you came pretty close, but it looks like I turned it on you," Jade protested. Tori's nose scrunched in that adorable fashion Jade liked as her anger peaked. She watched as Tori sat up to wave her hands and rant in Spanish, still straddling Jade's middle. She propped herself up on her elbows to admire the cute temper tantrum. She let it go on a few seconds longer until she was unable to wait any more. She pulled Tori against her by her shirt and kissed her hard. Tori instantly responded, biting at her bottom lip. Jade groaned, deepening the kiss. Tori allowed it for a minute before she was pushed back, panting.
"You can't just shut me up with kisses."
"I just did."
"Well, I'm still going to yell at you."
"Good. Keep going. You're hot when you get angry."
Tori let out a sound of agitation and pushed off Jade to stumble to her feet. She should have seen that coming a mile away but Jade always succeeded in getting her worked up. She looked back at her stupid cocky smirk and rolled her eyes.
"Come on, Tor," Jade coaxed, holding out a hand. Tori turned her nose up at it.
"Not until you admit that I tricked you."
Jade's smirk wavered. That was neither yelling nor something she would admit to.
"It's more of a tie at this point," she persuaded.
"We aren't talking about now."
Jade stared at Tori and she stared right back, stubborn and unmoving. She wasn't going to give Jade what she wanted. She would stand her ground, but she would do it calmly. Jade could see that she wasn't going to give in and sighed.
"Fine. You did manage to trick me…" she began.
"Ha!"
"But in the end, I still won because you didn't get a single chip," Jade finished, eyeing Tori with her own challenge.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
Tori stalked closer and climbed over Jade, feeling her chest hitch under the hand traveling up her midriff. She pushed up Jade's already lifted shirt and leaned down. Their eyes stayed locked as Tori picked up a half-broken chip off Jade's stomach with her teeth and then flicked it into her mouth with her tongue.
"You were saying?" she questioned, the single chip crushed behind a smirk of her own. Jade matched it and then pulled her into a heated kiss, tasting the salt on Tori's tongue. Tori hummed happily against her mouth, fully complying now that she took back the title of winner. Even if it was only in her mind.
