After a short night of sleep as Daniela had been fussy through the night, Matt felt bad when his alarm went off, as it was Gabby's first day off after another long late shift. Rolling over, she smiled at him though.

''Goodmorning handsome,'' she smiled, kissing him.

''Sorry for waking you up,'' he said softly.

''No, it's fine. You get ready for work, I will check on Daniela,'' she smiled as she got up from the bed. As tired as she was, she was also glad with the family she had now. As Matt got ready for work, she took Daniela from her crib and started to get her dressed.

Daniela was smiling and laughing as she got her dressed. It was so nice to see her smile after the state she had been in when they had found her on Puerto Rico.

Walking into the bedroom to take his last stuff, Gabby sat on the bed, holding Daniela in her arms.

''I can drive you to work,'' Gabby said, yawning as she was tired, but worried about him making his way to work.

''Na, I will be fine taking the L,'' He assured her as he didn't want to disturb her cuddles with Daniela. She had been working so hard the last few days. The last thing he wanted was for her to have to worry about bringing him to work. Sharing a kiss, he left soon.

Walking towards the L, he was glad things were going well between them now that their life was falling back into normalcy. Even though he wasn't back on his normal job, he was working in arson three days a week now.

Arriving at the office, he sat down at the desk he had been assigned. It was one he shared since he didn't work full time yet, but there was a picture of Gabriela and Daniela that immediately got a smile out of him. It was still unbelievable that half a year ago, he had had to go to Puerto Rico after Gabby had left him. Now he had a family with her, something they had always wanted. Erven though they had always wanted this, it was still something neither of them had expected to ever happen for them.

Working through the reports in the day, he couldn't wait to come home again.

Walking towards the L again, he started to feel tired again. He was not sure if wat the broken night as Daniela had been crying or the walk to the L, but he couldn't wait to be home.

His heart melted as he walked into the living room, Gabby reading a book as Daniela was sleeping beside her in the nest pillow they had gotten form the firehouse, so she could safely sleep on the couch beside Gabby.

Smiling as he saw his favorite two people in the world, he walked towards the couch.

''Mind if I join you,'' He said as he sat down on the couch.

''How was your day?''

''It was fine, boring,'' Matt admitted as he whispered, not wanting to disturb Daniela. Sitting down, she remained asleep on the nest pillow that they had gotten from the firehouse. Holding out his hand, it wasn't long before her little hand folded around his pinkie, Daniel staying contently asleep.

''She has been really good today, only just fell asleep, just fed her too. I wanted to wait for you but she was hungry.''

''Well, that's fine, and she needs the sleep,'' Matt smiled as she had kept them awake for a large part of the night.

''Looks like you need some sleep as well,''

''It's fine, really,'' he said as he didn't want to complain. She had been working so hard.

''Probably should put her to bed, we can have dinner and watch a movie,'' she offered. As much as both had been tired after the broken up night, she had slept a few times during the day. He looked exhausted still.

''Come on, you carry her. She must've missed her dad,'' Gabby encouraged him.

''Ehm,'' Matt said nervous as he wasn't sure about carrying and walking with Daniela in his arms still.

''Come on, it will be fine, I will walk with you,'' Gabby encouraged him as they got up. Carefully, Matt took Daniela in his arms as they started to make their way to the nursery. Thinking of every step he was making but he was walking easily, putting Daniela down to get her changed. Gabby stood against him, her chin on his shoulder as she smiled, just looking at the both of them making her so happy.

Changing Daniela in her pajamas, Gabby was smiling as Daniela's arms were reaching out to him as she smiled and laughed.

''She keeps on smiling at you,''

''At you too,'' Matt said with a smile. As much as they wanted to put her to bed, seeing her smile and laughing, Gabby took her in her arms instead.

Gabby took her in his arms, rocking in the rocking chair as Daniela was falling asleep in her arms. Putting her in the crib, they

''I am really tired,'' she admitted with a yawn. Matt laid her arm around her.

''You should go to bed, if you are tired,''

''We still need to eat,''

''I can cook something up,'' he offered, knew that she was tired.

''oh come on, we can order something in. We are both tired,'' She smiled as she took his hand and they sat down on the couch. Switching on the TV, they weren't really watching the show, instead just enjoying laying together.

''Are you sure? I can still get you something?'' Matt asked. She had done so much for him and he wanted to repay it. As much as things were perfect between them, he still did worry he wasn't doing enough.

''I am really fine with ordering in,'' she assured him again. Settling in the couch and laying against him, she buried herself under his arm, Matt quickly putting it around her and kissing her on top of her head. After the long day in arson, he didn't mind going out either, happy to stay at home with Daniela.

''What do you wanna get?'' he mumbled, holding her close.

''Anything is fine, really,'' Gabby said as she laid against him.

''How about some alfredo from that place down the road you really like?''

Gabby looked at her, not saying anything but he could see she wanted it. Kissing her on her forehead as he got up.

''Matt-''

''Getting it for you, you just relax okay?''

Before she could protest, he left to go get the food. Walking to the restaurant, he leaned against one of the tables as he waited for the food to be ready. As much as his leg throbbed after the long day, he was glad since he had been walking a lot more.

Going home with the food, he got up again to grab her something to drink.

''Matt, it's fine, just sit down,'' Gabby said concerned.

''Come on, I can get it, I just want you to be happy,'' Matt said as he walked to the kitchen, she worried as she looked after him. As sweet as it was, she was wondering what was going on.

''Matt, what is going on?'' She said concerned.

''I just wanna make sure, I do anything I can do to make you happy,'' Matt admitted, seemingly concerned. She wasn't sure if it was the lack of sleep, but it broke her heart.

''You make me happy every day, really,'' she said, smiling at him with tears in her eyes. It hurt her to know that he still doubted sometimes and she knew she was partly to blame for leaving him. Kissing him, she loved him so much.

''Please don't worry about it Matt, you do everything and more. I am sorry for leaving like that, that is not going to happen again,''

Matt didn't say anything as he stood with the glass in his hand, finally nodding and smiling.

''Thank you,'' he said, appreciating that she calmed his worries straight away.

Eating the food and laying against his chest after as they settled on the couch again, she turned on her stomach so she was facing him.

''Seeing you with Daniela, I think the lucky stars every day that you too the chance going to Puerto Rico,'' Gabby smiled as she laid against him. Holding him close, she felt so at home. As much as she didn't regret going to Puerto Rico as she knew that things would probably not have ended the same between them, she was so happy to be together with him as well. Puerto Rico had not only grown her personally, but their relationship as well.

''If you had never left me, I am not sure how our relationship would have looked now and we still wouldn't have met and adopted Daniela,'' He smiled. He wanted to think that if she had never left, they would be fine now. But he was aware that there had been problems in their relationship and that spending time apart was maybe one of the reasons they were together and a happy family now.

He caressed over her head still, kissing the top of her head as he set up a little more. Choosing a movie, he hold her close, so glad what they had just talked about.

The title card of the movie had barely made it on screen before they fell asleep. It was just past midnight as they woke up from crying.

Sitting up as Daniela started crying, Matt was hold back by Gabby.

''You did enough today, I am going to get her,'' Gabby said as she got up.

''Gabby, come on, you are tired,''

''It is fine Matt, really,'' she assured him. Taking Daniela from the crib, she handed her to Matt, who laid her down on his chest as Gabby went to prepare another bottle of formula. As much as she was gaining weight from being underfed when they had found her, she was still hungry a lot.

Handing over the bottle to him, she sat down by him again as Daniela immediately started to drink from the bottle.

''Not really the party life anymore,'' Gabby laughed as both of them were yawning.

''I am fine with that,'' he smiled. Laying together with the three of them, he was so grateful as well that he had her and they had Daniela.

''I am sorry getting so insecure again, just…''

''It's fine Matt, really. I shouldn't have left you that way and I know it hurts because of your parents.''

He smiled appreciative, glad how understanding they had become of each other.

''No use keeping apologizing about it, I just gotta stop being so insecure about it.''

''And sleep a little more, that might help too,'' she winked. Their heads laid against each other as they looked at the little girl in their arms, neither of them sure if life could get any more perfect than this.
