Ch12: The Ball & The Bold Maiden

They didn't understand what was going on at the moment. Reason being while the rest of them while having been going to these balls. Every time they were held like usual Kouki was being swarmed by young noble ladies from different houses around here. The same to some extent was to Ryuuatoru and the rest of them as well either young noble ladies or men for the respective girls of their class. Even their sensei who is oblivious to her situation has various handsome or late teens noblemen trying to chat her up. While they were successful in talking with their sensei, the overall outcome as to why they did so would shortly fall out of reach.

What they couldn't believe was that Hajime who never once attend these balls for as long they've been staying here. Arrived two hours ago with their combat instructor Meld and Liliana as her escort. Which for some reason caused a slight commotion throughout the entire older noblewomen and men throughout the ball. Hajime came looking like he belonged around her since he dressed the part. It seems he even brought ceremonial swords alongside him as well. This was odd considering the lot were told to dawn their respective armors and gears given to them from the kingdom. So they assumed that's what the kingdom gave Hajime for his gear. From there they all had their eyes drawn attention towards him as he walked Liliana towards her father the king, mother the queen, and younger brother the prince.

Thus while they couldn't hear what Hajime said to the three of them after he greeted them. It seems Liliana's father and mother were slightly but pleasantly surprised with Hajime considering the smile dawned on each of their faces. The same could be said with the Hoelscher Empires' envoy's royal family and the church officials being the pope and archbishop.

From there he withdrew from greeting all of them and stood beside Meld as if it was the natural thing to do. Thus over the two hours slowly but surely various older noble men and women went towards Hajime in speaking with him. Each had ten minutes or so speaking with him before a different noble took their place and the cycle continued till now. Though every time once each of the nobles was done speaking with him each had thoughtful but amused intrigued expressions on their faces.

Though for some reason the last person that greeted Hajime was one of the dukes from here along with his wife. Left a knowing grin on his face while Hajime simply had his gaze linger on the duke with a slightly amused grin on his own. Almost if they knew a joke neither them nor nobles around wouldn't be told about.

However, a few within the class knew what Hajime was doing as well as the potential risk that came with it. Them being Shizuku, Eri, Endou, and surprisingly their sensei Aiko who was slightly overjoyed at seeing her student joining the rest of them.

But none of them moved to speak with Hajime not because he was occupied talking with the nobles around here at the moment. It was because they didn't know what to make of him at the moment. That and some were slightly terrified of him after the shocking display he put on for everyone earlier in the morning. Or other's mainly Kouki was trying to think of a way of getting Hajime to fight for this world's humanity. Since in his eyes, Hajime was in the wrong for not using his hidden strength for this world. Against the supposed demons that humanity was fighting and was nothing but a coward. Though unknowing to him that was his own of coping the slight feeling of jealousy that was beginning to creep upon him.

But it was then the King began to garner the attention of everyone. As such everyone stopped what they were doing and turned their attention towards him.

Eliheid "For one I thank you all for coming this fine evening. As you know the apostles of god amongst you have been training hard with exceptional results. All of them proving to be exceptional than any of us could imagine. Breaking limits that would have taken the majority of our years or decades they simply did so in a matter of weeks." he says to all of them in an informing but regal voice with a slight smile on his face

Eliheid "Including one apostle who the majority of the time didn't train like the rest of them. And instead, soak up the knowledge of our history and researching material to help benefit his fellow apostles. Which let be honest none of us really held this certain apostle with reverence than the others. But earlier today this apostle proved all of wrong going toe to toe against one of our best fighters humanity had to offer. The reason became abundantly clear why this apostle didn't join the others. Not because of the synergist vocation or jobclass he was given to him. But genuinely had no need for it since out of all the apostles he was already well trained and prepared from the start. As such we gravely insulted him in think he was like the rest of them. So for that, we have to apologize for our misunderstanding" he says to the lot of them while looking towards Hajime whose standing beside Meld.

Meld hearing this scorned the crowd of nobles who were in slight deep thought but mostly agreeing with what their king is saying. However, he looks toward his left where Hajime who through all of this. Merely has a slight smile, however, judging from the way how tightly he's gripping the glass of wine. He isn't very pleased with how the King is interpreting his actions these past weeks. Or rather how his twisting his actions to his benefit.

Eliheid "As such, I have two announcements to make this fine evening. The first is that the apostles being lead by our army's commander Meld Loggins and a small squad. Will head towards Orcus Great Labyrinth to him into their next phase of training and gaining actual field experience. At first light tomorrow and perhaps conquer it as well." he says to them in an informing but commanding voice

Eliheid "The second and perhaps most important one. The apostle Nagumo Hajime has proven he is more capable than what previously thought he could achieve. Well-versed and experienced in combat has been proven against our ally Emporer Gahard D. Hoelscher. Who he along with the rest of the Hoelscher royal family and envoy escort. Give their utmost praise which is something very difficult to achieve. As such with reaching an agreement between the Heiligh Kingdom and the Hoelscher Empire with the Holy church as witness." he says to them in informing but commanding voice

Eliheid "Apostle Nagumo Hajime in one month's time after accompanying the rest of the apostle to Orcus. Will have the honor and the first apostle to be sent towards the front lines in hopes that his strength and wisdom will push back the demon threat. Off of human claimed lands by the demons and perhaps make a foothold into Demon territory." he says to them all in an authoritative but informing voice

At his announcement, all were stunted for just a moment. Before long cheers rang out throughout the ballroom. Hajime's classmates could not for the life of them believe what they just heard. It was not about them going to Orcus that had them in disbelief. No, it was the announcement about their resident open Otaku Hajime. All of them turned towards where they last saw Hajime. However, they didn't see him by Meld's side. It took a few minutes before they spotted him talking with Gahard and his family. Some of the classmates had to stop their sensei Aiko from making a scene since they knew now wasn't the right time. The others simply stared at Hajime with either questioning, envy, pity, or regretful eyes after what they heard.

But to the person in question who was in a small conversation with them as their surroundings returned to their festive mood.

Gahard "I guess you right when they wanted you out of here," he says to him in an honest but respectful voice

Hajime "As if you ever doubted my words. Honesty look at how happy the king of this kingdom is along with the pope and archbishop are. Now that I would be out of their hair. As well as not being a sore sight for their eyes that might hamper their interference with my classmates. They already have their hands full with my sensei." he says to them in an honest but respectful voice

Baius "I usually don't really ask such questions. But you have proven your worth so I have to ask. Who trained you from this Kingdom. It certainly wasn't Meld since he's occupied babying the other apostles" He asks him in an honest but curious voice.

Hajime "If it was Meld it would have to be a one on one training regiment. But even then it wouldn't be enough, it was various sensei's, and masters that trained me to have the necessary skills I have now. As you can tell by sheathed swords. Being proficient with the spear is the only weapon I could use. He'll give me a bow and I promise you that no one within this kingdom is a better marksman than I" he says to them in an honest but informing voice with slight nostalgia within it.

Tracy "It doesn't explain your experience though. But well all of here can guys you foughten to the death before," she says to him in an honest but respectful voice

Hajime "It seems it wasn't just Meld that caught on to that. I seriously losing edge. You could say I have but not in the traditional sense. But that's as far I go in the matter." he says to her in an informing but respectful voice

Gahard "If you don't mind me asking but the gear you have on isn't something this kingdom has given you. Much less the crest you have on it isn't something I'm familiar with. So I'm assuming that it was you who made this gear?" he asks him in a respectful but questioning voice

Hajime "No. I don't have the necessary skills to replicate the creation of this gear I have. That honor has to go towards an insane but a loving genius woman who I knew very well. The same goes for the suit you saw earlier today. She made that as well. The most I could do is repair her works but that is all." he says to him in a nostalgic voice

Hajime "As for the crest, well you could say It was a noble house that I and everyone else I knew belonged to. Regardless if they were good or evil, sane or insane, logical or emotional, male or female. Man or beast and clashing beliefs or religions. All were unified under one goal and everyone enjoyed each other's company. I wore this today since to show where my allegiance stands between this Kingdom or your Empire." he says to them in an honest but proud voice with nostalgia hidden within

Gahard "Respectable, but from the sounds of thing they aren't around anymore," he says to him in questioning but a suspicious voice

All there see Hajime's face form a slight self-deprecating smile before it's replaced just for a moment one cold and emotionless. It then changes to one of indifference before speaking

Hajime "Sad to say but I'm the last person that will perhaps ever know they existed in the first place. The last one who will forever keep their memories alive. Betrayal is something sadly one should expect even when you save your supposed allies twice. Only to have a blade run through you for the sole greed and slight fear you represent. As a form of payment and honor for all the hard work, you've done to keep them alive. Such is the way of human nature." he says to them in an indifferent but informing voice

Gahard "Is that so, it seems your allies were stupid in betraying the noble household you were a part of. Still it mean much from me or my family. But sorry for your loss" he says to him in a respectful but honest voice

Hajime "You could say that they were...but thank you for your words nonetheless. You don't mind if I excuse myself, it seems I may ruin our pleasant conversion if this continues," he asks him in a questioning but respectful voice

Tracy "I'm sure my brother or father won't mind you leaving. Though do inform the King of this place since he was the one hosting this event," she says to him in an informing but respectful voice

Hajime "I'll be sure to do so, Princess Tracy, prince Baius and Emperor Gahard. It was a pleasure speaking with the three of you. I hope you'll take care of me in a month's time when I reach the empire." he says to them in a respectful but honest voice

Baius "Not all, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself more when you reach the empire." he says to him in a respectful but honest voice with a knowing grin on his face

Gahard "It was a pleasure as well. Till then future captain Nagumo Hajime," he says to him in a respectful voice

Hajime "Captain huh. Didn't think I would receive such a position already. Till then my future commander," he says him in a respectful voice

After they see Hajime give the three of them respectful bows. They see him fade into the crowd of nobles before reappearing before Eliheid and Liliana. Most likely to excuse himself from the ball entirely.

Tracy "So then father what are you going to do?" she asks him in a questioning voice

Gahard "What I had planned for him remains the same. Though only this time it seems I'll have to be careful when seeding him out to the frontlines. He's a survivor after all, as such dealing with such individuals more cunning and troublesome to deal with." he says to them in an informing voice

Baius "So then what do we do about the gift we told the escort to buy for him at the market?" he says to him in a questioning voice

Gahard "Luckily for us it seems he's isn't disgusted by such things like his other apostles. At least it seems he's more understanding of how things are run around here. Send it to his assigned private carriage for him tomorrow. Honestly, I'd say the gift would honestly enjoy it will enjoy the small amount of freedom that Hajime will give it." he says to him in an honest but informative voice

At his words, they quiet down as they see Hajime say something to Eliheid, his family before departing from them and leaving the entire ballroom entirely.

On a different side, Shizuku was watching Hajime's movements the entire time up till he left the room. However, she was mostly here to keep an eye on her childhood friend Kaori who looked throughout the entire night wanted to say something to Hajime. However, she always made sure subtly she didn't get a chance to. Since it could already make Hajime's situation a whole lot more complicated or worse depending on who you ask within their class. She was honestly thankful that Kouki didn't pull his usual stunt like he always does during today's ball.

However, she noticed that when the announcement was made much like expected. The various reactions from each of her classmates were varied from person to person. Though she made sure when she could keep an eye on Daisuke and his group since they had more. Extreme reaction as in they weren't pleased out of everyone. However, it was then her thoughts were broken out of when she heard Kaori speak up.

Kaori "Shizuku, I'll be heading off now since I wish to rest for tomorrow," she says to her in an informing but slightly tired voice

Shizuku "Want me to accompany you? After all, you know I only showed up because of the announcements made," she says to her in an honest voice

Kaori "That's okay, someone needs to bail ou Kouki from being dragged away from here from the young ladies here. After all, I'm sure you wouldn't want some unknown bug...I mean noble lady take away Kouki don't you?" she says to her in an honest but informing voice with a slight smile

Shizuku merely blushes a bit at her words neither confirming nor denying Kaori's words. So she simply lets out a forceful cough a bit before a smile dawns on her face and speaks up.

Shizuku "I guess your right. Kouki is dense about such things so he might end up doing something stupid entirely. Then I'll see you tomorrow, have a good night," she says to her in an honest but warm voice

Kaori "Night Shizuku, tell Kouki-san and the others good night for me as well." she says to her in an informing but honest voice

Shizuku "Will do," she says to her in an honest voice

At her words she sees Kaori give her a warm smile before turning her back towards her and proceeds to head out the ballroom as well. After that, she turns her attention once more to the currently surrounded Kouki who trying to defuse a situation between the various young noble ladies. Only like usual begins to fan up the flames even more unknowingly.

Shizuku (Might as well save. Why did I have to fall for a dense brick idiot like you. Might have been better if you were at least aware like Nagumo-san is) she says to herself mentally in an honest voice

It took him about ten minutes to reaches his room where his maid was waiting for him. Though not in the mood indulge in manipulating her into thinking she had been having sex with him. Along with the fact he knows Shiro, Rin and Sakura are still in there. Most likely already finishing their routine with Shiro still standing. So he doesn't want her to see the extra uninvited guest that would have broken his bed. He knows this because Shiro still hasn't messaged him that they have already left.

Ava "Turning in for the night Hajime-sama?" she says to him in an honest voice

Hajime "Yes Ava-san, unfortunately being at today's ball has made me a little tired than usual. So, unfortunately, I'm not in the mood of indulging your sexual hunger this evening. Hope you can understand," he says to her in a warm but caring voice

Ava "Can't be helped I suppose, then may you have a good rest Hajime-sama. I'll see you in the morning" she says to him in an honest but respectful voice

Emiya "They can't since that's what trying to outlast a servant does to you. So then Hajime what's the next move considering the ball is still ongoing?" he says in an honest voice while hopping out of the bed and materializing his servant attire.

After Hajime makes sure both Rin and Sakura are covered up who look like wish to say something but can't for obvious reasons.

Hajime "At first light or tonight, the Duke I mentioned will have to be assassinated. Since that's when all of us are supposed to be up heading towards Orcus tomorrow. So we only have a short window in killing him" he says to him in a blunt but honest voice

Emiya "I see, and the rest of his family members along with staff?" he says to him in an honest but questioning voice

Hajime "If we could advoid killing them that would be best. However, if something goes south or blows our cover then they'll have to disappear as well sadly." he says to him in an honest but cold voice

Emiya "...So then what do you need me to do?" he asks him in an honest but questioning voice while narrowing his eyes at him

Hajime "Scout out his compound and mark out the guard detail patrolling the area. All you have to do is get me through the front gate and courtyard. Once I'm inside the compound leave the rest to me. All you have to do is snipe any guards that might discover the dead bodies or signal the alarm. At least that is the more risky option anyway." he says to him in an informing voice

Emiya "I'm assuming the second option you have at first light tomorrow?" he says to him in an honest but confirming voice

Hajime "That's right. It's mostly just you either sniping the duke from a far away highpoint when he reveals himself or you blowing up his carriage on his way to the royal palace from his compound. Though this second option will only be done once I and the rest of my classmates within the carriage caravan leave the city walls and gained a far enough distance. Since it would be problematic if we were delayed for a time." he says to him in an honest voice

Emiya "I suppose that's true. In that case, I'll go scout out the compound for now and I'll let you know if you can sneak in based on what I know your ability can handle." he says to him in an honest but informing voice

Hajime "That's fair, then I might as well clean up you the mess you guys made in my room while I wait." he says to him in an honest voice

All he gets is Emiya having an amused grin before disappearing from his sights. It took him a couple of dozen minutes of cleaning up the mess and organizing the curtains and putting various stuff back where they were. As well as folding Rin and Sakura's clothing nicely and putting it on top of the bed. However, it was then he heard a knock on the door. Which caused him along with Rin and Sakura who were barely gaining feeling all over their bodies. To go either wide-eyed or narrow their eyes. From their Hajime still in his outfit along with having both his sheathed golden "swords" as he slowly made his way towards the door. The reason being he felt two presences outside his door. With one in front of it and another a little ways down the hallway.

Hajime "Who is it?" he asks out loud griping one of the hilts of the swords in a questioning voice

Kaori "Um it's me Shirasaki-san...I wish to talk to you about something may I please come in?" he hears her asks behind the door in questioning but slightly desperate voice

Hajime (Out of all the people it had to be you first. I guess this is preferable than having Amanogawa at my doorstep) he says to himself mentally in an honest but curious voice

Hajime "Sure I guess. Just give me a minute since I need to put away a few things," he says to her in an informing but honest voice

Kaori "Okay" he hears her say back in a confirming but understanding voice

After hearing her words he goes over towards the bed to where Rin and Sakura having their eyes wide-eyed look towards him and the door trying to say something. probably like if he's suicidal or crazy at the moment. so he speaks up

Hajime "I'm going to place an obstruction bounded field around the bed so that she can't see you. But You'll have to be quiet though out what my classmates want to say to me. Hajime "Please coming in I'm sure it's freezing cold out there. I'll have warm tea ready for us in a moment," he says to her in an inviting but honest voice.

Kaori "Thank you sorry for arriving at such an hour." she says back to him in a slightly guilty but honest voice as she walks past him into the room.

As soon he sees her enter he closes the door to the room and makes sure he locks it along with placing a silencing bounded field on it. Just in case Daisuke has any funny idea of trying to hear what they're going to talk about. Not his problem is a hormonal teenager gets the wrong Ideas of what's going on in here.

Kaori after walking through into Hajime's room notices how nearly clean it is along with the number of empty alcohol bottles and a golden ashtray with a golden lighter next to the ashtray. And on top of the said ashtray is smoking engraved pipe in ivory blue and black. Also smelling the strong scent of perfume along with something else. She also notices the widow doors to the balcony are open almost as if letting out the smell. Though outside the balcony is a table and four chairs that overlook the city below them.

Meanwhile, Rin and Sakura regained a full thought process than thinking indecent thoughts almost half an hour ago. The shame hit them like a truck as they turned bright red with embarrassment. However, they are slightly grateful to Hajime for covering their naked bodies up when Shiro didn't bother with it at all. However, it seems Hajime isn't a pure teen they thought he was or is a man. All he sees is her nodding before moving towards the small table within the room with two seats. That now just noticing how the empty alcohol bottles along with the pipe, lighter, and ashtray were on the table. Alongside his two "swords" on top of the said table as well. Well, that was going to be a pain to explain. However, as was warming up the tea he heard Kaori speak up

Kaori "...I didn't know you drank and smoked Hajime-Kun. Did your parents know?" she says to him in an honest but questioning voice

Hajime "They didn't. Just letting you know I'm drinking and smoking in moderation. So don't go thinking I'm an alcoholic or heavy smoker." he says to her in an informing voice while still warming up the tea

Kaori "It is a recent thing?" she asks him in questioning but an innocent voice

Hajime "No it's I've been drinking and smoking for a while," he says to her in an honest voice

Kaori "So you were doing this back home. Didn't really expect that honestly...why?" she asks him in a questioning voice

Kaori "I see," she says to him in an understanding voice probably knowing the reason why.

Though what's she's thinking couldn't have been more off from the truth if she ever found out why he did so.

Kaori "So is there a reason why it smells of unknown woman perfume in here?" she asks him in questioning but an unknowingly dark voice

Haering such a thing in an unexpected voice from her. He speaks up

Hajime "You do know we all have assigned maids right? it probably her perfume you're smelling in here since she does clean my room after all." he says to her in an informing voice

Kaori "I guess. Sorry I just thought you brought unknown bu...I mean other women in here. I know you wouldn't do that," she says to him in a slightly guilty but honest voice with a smile on her face

Hajime (You were going to say bugs weren't you? Huh didn't know you were this protective or defensive about me. I better watch how I interact with a woman in the future when she's around.) he says to himself mentally in an honest but slightly nostalgic voice

Hajime "The tea is ready, so what is it that you wish to talk about?" he asks her in an honest voice handing the teacup to her as he sips his tea

Kaori sips the tea from the cup Hajime giving her which warms her body a bit. She then speaks up.

Kaori "It concerns about our supposed next training phase tomorrow and how you won't be with us in a month." she says to him in an honest voice with a slight smile

Kaori "Hajime-kun please don't come with us tomorrow and stay here in this room. So that once I come back we could run away together." she says to him in a slight desperate but genuine heartfelt voice while looking at him with concerned eyes

Hearing her say such things, Hajime merely sets down his teacup on the table making sure it doesn't spill on top of the swords on the table. so with a slight clam but serious expression on his face. Be looks away from Kaori's slightly desperate but heartfelt expression towards outside before he speaks up

Hajime "Of all the things you would say Shirasaki-san. But please may I why you say such things, the Nagumo Hajime you thought was weak disappeared today as you know." he says to her in a questioning voice before turning his face to face her once more with a calm expression on his face

Kaori "I don't care for that. I had been having nightmares these past few days about how no matter how hard I was trying to catch up to you or help you. Something prevented me from seeing you get hurt or you distancing yourself from the others and me before one day you simply vanished. Sometimes its you ending up dead or your nowhere to be found anywhere as one by one everyone turned their back to you expect me in trying to find you. Almost as if you deliberately left us...me behind" she says to him in a slightly terrified but genuine voice

Kaori "No matter how much I screamed to you to never go or come back you never once acknowledged or heard my voice. The only every time I saw is the slightly tired but wistful smile you gave me before your either found dead or never to be seen again" she says to him in a slightly heartbroken but honest voice with a slightly sad expression on her face

Hearing her say such things to him with genuine emotion. He gives her a slight smile of comfort before speaking up

Hajime "Didn't think you could think of such detailed nightmares about me Shirasaki-san. But that's they are nightmares nothing bad is going to happen" he says to her in an honest voice

Kaori "No don't just discard my words like that. I'm scared something bad is going to happen if you come with us. So please just stay here where it's safe," she says to him in a slightly loud but honest voice with a slight heartbroken expression on her face

Hajime "Shirasaki-san, Meld-san is going to command and coming with us as we head towards Orcus great labyrinth. Plus there be strong people like Amanogawa-san accompanying us as well. I'd say it's our foes who you should be worried about. Not mentioning how capable I've shown myself to be today." he says to her in an honest but informing voice with a slight smile on his face

Kaori "I don't care how much stronger you appear to be Hajime-kun. To me, you'll always be the one who put his life at risk even though you were weak back in middle school. When you dogezaed in front of them to pacify that stronger and terrifying delinquent who tried to take how his anger on mother and her child. Simply because the child made the mistake of bumping into him and spilling his drink on his clothes." she says to him in an honest but genuine voice with a slight happy smile on her face with a slight flush on her cheeks

Hajime (That did happen didn't it. Damm it feels like ages remembering that day. Still, who knew she was within the ungrateful coward of people who didn't wish to help the woman and her child. It seems I had some qualities of a hero considering I was terrified by that person, my body simply moved on its own. Good times) he says to himself mentally in a slightly shocking but nostalgic voice

Hajime "Didn't know you saw me embarrassing myself" he says to her in an honest but slightly embarrassed voice with a slight compacted smile on his face

Kaori "It was not embarrassing, you were the most heroic and amazing person back there. There can be many strong people who would've seen such a situation and easily used violence to defeat the problem. People like Kouki-san or Meld-san for example. But you a person who's weak was such a moving but heroic site to see with my own eyes. Knowing how much the odds were against you, yet regardless of you getting hurt you'd still went through with it anyway" he says to in an honest but praising voice with a happy smile on her face

Kaori "That day I saw everything happen but I was terrified to move and do something. So I had hoped that the various around me would do something about the situation because I was weak. But no one moved to help the woman and her child or simply ignored it. Everyone else but you, hence why when I found you we went to the same high school I was happy. Though every time, in the beginning, I tried to talk to you you were always sleepy or tired. However, in our second year of high school, a little over six months ago you suddenly disappeared for a week with no one knew where you had gone. However, the following week you'd somehow returned and changed somehow. No one for the first few weeks couldn't talk to you even me since you had this air about you that made it difficult. Though once it was gone you somehow were able to speak like you've gained some sort of confidence." she says to him in an honest voice

Kaori "You were actual for once we're able to speak naturally to me without a stutter or looking like you wanted to leave the room for some reason. However, ever since that day when you saved that mother and her child. Now and then you have always been the strongest person in my heart Hajime-kun and nothing will ever change that" she says to him in a warm but heartfelt voice with a genuine smile and eyes showing her love towards him with flush cheeks.

Hajime (Heh so that's how it is...this was the reason she felt the need to speak to me at this hour. So there is only one option left for both our sakes) he says to himself mentally in an honest but slightly complicated voice

Hajime "It seems in your mind I'll always be the weak but heroic person that day no matter how much stronger I may seem to you. So in hopes to ease your concerns and worry. How about we make a deal instead Shirasaki-san, I'll put my remaining hope in you that you'll always protect me." he says to her in an honest but informing voice

Hajime "Your occupation or jobclass is Healer right? since I'll always get hurt where ever I go and look that frail kid back then you'll protect me with your abilities. It's embarrassing for a man to admit he needs protection from a woman. So when we go to Orcus I'll make a promise to you that I'll get even stronger for you to recognize that I won't need protecting. Until then you'll always be there to protect me until that time comes." he says to her in a warm but honest voice with a promising grin on his face

Seeing him make such an expression on his face, Kaori with a smile but determined expression on her face she speaks up

Kaori "I don't know if you'll ever make me change my image of you. But fine I promise you that I'll protect you Hajime from anyone who wants to harm you or take you away from me. As such let's make plans as to how we'll disappear from Tortus and everyone else" she says to him in an honest but determined voice with fire in her eyes

Hajime "Still haven't given up on running away?" he asks her in a questioning voice with a slightly complicated smile on his face

Kaori "I said I'd protect you didn't I? So I have a month to figure out how to protect you from the Empire since they are going to take you away from me," he says him in an obvious voice while looking at him like he was a helpless child

Hajime "What about Yaegashi-san and the others?" he asks her in a questioning voice but still has a complicated smile on his face

Kaori "They'll understand," she says to him in an obvious but honest voice

Hajime (No no I don't think they will. Great it seems Shirasaki had a terrifying hidden side to her as well) he says to himself mentally in an honest voice

Hearing everything till now along with the current ongoing proto escape plans that are Kaori and Hajime being slightly forced? to help in making said escape plans. Rin, Sakura, and Shirou who came in the middle of Kaori's and Hajime's conversation only had a thought going through their heads.

Shirou/Rin/Sakura (Run Hajime!) they all thought in a slightly concerned but honest voice.

Finally done with writing this chapter...so tired. Sorry IRL work schedule had me working on a tight leash. Still, though I hope you guys thought this chapter was decent enough for you to enjoy. Hope you guys thought the character interaction wasn't too forceful in your opinion. Anyhow the next chapter should open up with either a flashback or the following morning. As to when the next chapter comes out who knows. Anyways since new servants have come out since riding this story, I'll be adding them to Gudao and Gudako's harem list soon in the next chapter.
