Chapter 16: Introducing Rei

Previously

"Lum!..."The strange, handsome alien said as he chased after the oni princess.

Danny saw this and blinked in confusion as the girl who claims to be his wife is being chased by this mysterious male oni.

"Uh, who is this guy?..."He asked, looking lost.

"He's...uh...Lum's ex-fiance..."Ten whispered, surprising the two earthlings.

"Wait... what?!..."Danny let out as he suddenly felt like things were about to get crazier.

Present Time

Jazz could hear what sounds like running coming from her brother's room and sighed.

"Pretty noisy...I'd better go check before they wake up mom and dad..."She said as she went to her brother's room, hoping to break up whatever is happening.

However, once she got there, she could hear the sounds of chasing and screaming...coming from Lum...

"I'm not going back! Oh! Leave me be!..."Was heard.

Jazz blinked in surprise.

"What's going on in there?..."She questioned out loud.

She got her answer when she opened the door and soon saw someone chasing Lum in her brother's room...while her brother, Ten and Sam just watched.

Lum also looked very upset as this guy chased her around the room.

"Go away! Go away! Go away, Rei! Go away, I hate you!..."She shouted as she tried to avoid him.

"My gosh, who is this guy?..."Jazz asked as they watched the chase.

"Supposedly, he's Lum's ex-fiance..."Danny said as the alien girl kept trying to avoid the mysterious intruder.

The alien man soon stopped for a moment when he heard someone entering the room, that's when Jazz finally saw his face for the first time...once she did, she was stunned and felt her face turn red.

"Oh my, how handsome!..."Jazz said as she blushed and had hearts in her eyes.

"You're turning red, Jazz..."Ten couldn't help but comment.

Jazz got annoyed by him and turned to the baby.

"Quiet..."She hissed before turning to the handsome new guest.

"Why don't I...uh...get us some snacks?..."Jazz said, still blushing as she left the room.

Danny noticed his sister's behavior and got concern.

"I just hope this isn't another Johnny 13 incident..."He muttered, annoyed.

A few moments later

Things were still tense. Thankfully, the power came back but it didn't matter as they seem to be having their own sort of trouble as their latest "guest" was still here.

Lum was on the floor, crossing her arms and sulking while Rei sent her longing looks. Ten just looked wary while the earthlings were uneasy about this.

Once again, they were trying desperately to get Lum to drop her fantasy of marriage and go home.

"Lum, you and Ten should just go back to your planet..."He said for the thousandth time, but the alien refused to hear any of it.

"Nope!..."She said stubbornly.

Sam got annoyed and started complaining.

"I don't get it. Danny isn't bad looking but even I'll admit that your ex-fiance is really handsome..."Sam said, since she couldn't lie about that.

She always figured that spoiled brats like Lum would go for guys with the best looks and even she is willing to admit that this Rei guy is really hot...in a superficial way that she is not interested in...but she's till handsome to Sam's eye and even she can't help but admire the intense look in his eyes.

Lum, however, turned and looked insulted.

"No way! He might look handsome right now but he turns into something really weird when he gets excited!..."She said in anger and disgust.

"Something weird?..."Danny thought, wondering what this guy could turn into that even Lum would find weird.

To his dismay, the alien girl turned to him and knew what that meant.

"Oh no, she's got that look in her eye again..."He thought as the oni girl spoke again.

"Besides...I...I...I want Darling instead!..."She declared passionately as she pounced him.

Danny, however, just barely managed to avoid her.

"Stop calling me that!..."He shouted as he tried to avoid her.

"But you're mine!..."Lum shouted as she tried to get a hold of him.

Rei saw her go to the ghost boy and the handsome looking boy got angry as his fangs grew larger and his horns elongated, his good looks were beginning to chance...which the alien princess notice.

"See! His real self is coming out!..."She accused.

Danny and Sam had noticed his face briefly turning animalistic and terrifying before he tried to calm down. Still, Sam was seeing a chance to be rid of Lum and she persisted.

"So what if he turns into some monster...you shoot lightning and invade people's personal space...Sounds like you two are perfect for each other..."She said as she gestured between the two.

Lum looked insulted when she said that and became very angry.

"No we're not! Don't insult me!..."She yelled at the goth.

Before this argument could continue, the door opened and Danny briefly panicked that it was his parents. To his relief and surprise, it was his sister Jazz...for some reason, she was wearing make-up as she carried in some snacks.

"Hey everyone...I brought some tea and cookies..."Jazz said, trying to sound more womanly as she walked in.

Despite all the craziness happening right now, Danny just looked shocked by his sister's actions.

"Jazz! What are you doing?..."He exclaimed as his sister approached them and placed the snack tray in front of Rei.

"Oh...I...decided to try my hand at cooking and I thought we could all use a snack..."She lied quickly but her eyes were still on their guest.

"Jazz, it's 9 at night..."Sam pointed out.

"So? It's never too late for snacks, especially for our guest..."She said before turning to Rei and blushing again.

She noticed his staring and became shy around him.

"H-Hi...I'm Jazz..."She said as she presented him the food. "Here, help yourself..."She said as she tried to be polite to the very handsome boy.

Danny saw this and rolled his eyes.

"I don't believe this..."He muttered at how his sister is behaving.

To everyone's surprise, Rei suddenly took Jazz by the hand.

"Uh...what's he doing?..."Danny asked as he got into protective-brother mode.

To everyone, sans Lum and Ten's shock, Rei brought Jazz's hand and pressed his lips against it.

Danny's jaw dropped while Jazz's entire face turned deep red.

"Oh my! You're so bold!..."Jazz said as she acted like an embarrassed, lovesick school girl.

Danny gaped at that as he watched his sister bashfully leave the room, acting completely out of character.

"What's gotten into her? She didn't even act this weird around Johnny that one time..."He mused before he noticed Lum glaring at Rei.

He soon had an idea on why she's not so keen on getting back together with him.

"So, I'm guessing this guy is pretty smooth with girls, huh?..."He asked.

To his surprise, Lum shook her head.

"Not in the least..."She said before getting angrier. "He's just INCREDIBLY tacky!..."She yelled.

"Tacky?..."Danny and Sam both questioned.

They soon saw Rei was looking intensely at the tea and cookies that Jazz had left...and all of the suddenly, he started wolfing them out, eating them in a voracious manner.

"Uh...you're right..."Danny admitted while Lum looked exasperated as she watch her ex make a pig out of himself as he stuffed his face.

"No way can I stand such a tacky man! No way! No way!..."The alien princess yelled, looking even more disgusted at Rei's actions.

Suddenly, Rei stopped eating and now had tears in his eyes.

"Is he crying?..."Danny thought, almost feeling sorry for him.

"Lum, don't be so mean...you're making him cry..."Sam said in Rei's defense, thinking the alien girl's words hurt him.

However, Lum knew better.

"He's just crying tears of joy because the cookies taste so good!..."She yelled, still crying in anger.

Rei stopped his crying and just nodded, confirming her accusation.

"Uh...I see..."Danny commented. "At least, he's honest about it..."He added.

To his shock, Lum suddenly started banging her hand on the ground in frustration, yelling and crying in outrage.

"He hasn't changed a bit!..."She yelled as she kept hitting the ground, shocking Danny by her outburst.

"Sheesh, this is getting really dramatic..."Danny commented as this continued.

He was also, once again, grateful that his room is now sound proofed.

Sam, on the other hand, just watched and rolled her eyes at the alien princess's tantrum.

"So he's got bad table manners...He's still the most handsome guy I've ever seen..."Sam muttered.

"Is that all you can say?..."Ten asked.

Sam realized that she must have said that out loud and blushed, before frowning.

"Well...I can't deny it. Plus, it t seems to be his only redeeming quality..."She said, still hoping that this guy can make Lum leave.

Lum, on the other hand, still refused to go to her former fiance.

She was still crying and but managed to hug Danny, showing favoritism towards him.

"Darling, I don't want a man like him!..."She cried as she clung to him.

Danny was too flabbergasted by her crying and reaction to Rei to phase out and he tried to calm her down.

"Well...uh...I'm not so sure he's that bad..."He tried, only for Sam to interrupt him.

"Lum, let him go right now!..."Sam snarled, not seeing that Rei was right behind her, looking furious.

He also looked feral again but Lum refused to let go.

"I want to be next to Darling..."Lum said with a familiar smile.

Danny got annoyed and tried to pull away.

"Lum, let go!..."He demanded as he tried to push her off of him.

"No! I don't want to leave my Darling. We're meant to be!..."She shouted as she hung onto Danny while Sam and Rei tried to force the Oni princess to let go of the half-ghost.

"NO! NO!NO! Absolutely no way! I won't leave! I won't leave my darling for that pig!..."She shouted as she refused to let go.

"Yeah? Well I don't want you to stay!..."Danny said as he phased out and tried to keep out of her reach, while Rei just looked furious and was panting heavily again.

Sam, on the other hand, was very annoyed by Lum's stubbornness and still saw this as a chance to be rid of her.

"Oh, come on! I thought all a shallow princess want are just good looks! Isn't that enough for you?!..." Sam complained, while thinking the following.

"It worked for Paulina, so why not this spoiled princess?..."She mentally added.

"I don't want him!..."Lum refused again as she tried to reach for Danny but he tried to keep out of her reach.

"Well, just get away from Danny then!..."Sam shouted as she glared at the oni girl.

While she can't force Lum to go back to her ex-boyfriend, she is NOT going to let her think that she can just claim Danny as her own.

Danny, who was now hovered to keep some more distance from Lum, spoke again, this time, trying to help her see reason in a not-angry tone.

"Umm... not to sound racist or anything... isn't it better for you to marry within your own species? Or at least a guy who actually wants it?..."He said, trying to drop a hint.

Lum heard this and got angry at his constant refusals. Her mood was also bad because of the presence of her ex and whom she viewed as her love rival. A strange gleam was in her eye that even made Ten nervous.

"Oh boy, I know that look...she's getting desperate..."Ten thought, worried that she's about to say something that'll make things worse for Danny.

"No, it's not!..." Lum protested before she had an idea... "BECAUSE I'M CARRYING DARLING'S BABY IN MY TUMMY!..."She shouted for all in the room to hear.

The entire room went silent and cold while Danny looked horrified, Sam lost all color, even for a goth, on her face and Rei became shocked and not moving.

Sam, who was still in shock and color still drained from her face, tried to speak for a few seconds before words finally came out.

"Lum...what...did..you...say?..."She asked in a slow, empty and horrified voice.

While Danny was too frozen in shock by her latest stunt, Lum just cackled wickedly.

"Oh, are you shocked? I'm pregnant!..."She declared in an arrogant way, not seeing how wrong that sounded or how this was making things worse.

Seeing the smug look on Lum's face, Sam's expression changed into one of pure anger as this finally sunk in.

"Why that...that...that little-..."The goth's angered thoughts soon turned to rage and fury as she snapped.

"YOU WITCH!..."The enraged goth shouted as she got up and jumped Lum in a fit of anger and pulling her away from Danny.

Lum, who had been looking smug, was shocked by the sudden attack and soon found herself on the ground with the angry goth girl, who was attacking her, was also being careful not to aim at her stomach while she tried to let out her anger, making sure not to strike a child that supposedly belonged to Danny.

"You violator, you spoiled brat! You used your weird tech to force Danny to do it without him wanting, didn't you?! You lying, evil, shameless little alien shrew!.."Sam shouted in irrational anger as she started pulling at Lum's hair while Lum forcing Sam's mouth painfully wide.

"It was an act of love!..."She insisted as she kept taunting the girl. "Oh, what's a matter? Upset Darling didn't do the same for you?!" Lum shot back pulling on Sam's hair.

"Shut up, you filthy brat!..."Sam yelled as the fighting continued.

It got so bad that even Ten was getting nervous as he flew to Danny for protection.

"Danny... I'm scared..."He said, holding on tightly but his hero didn't notice.

Only Danny's mind seemed to have shut down from hearing Lum's declaration, thinking in loop: "This is a bad dream... worse one since Nocturne..."

He managed to snap out of it when he saw that Lum was about to do to his friend with her powers and his protective kicked in.

"Sam, it's a lie! She's lying!..."Danny shouted as he tried to break the fight before anyone got hurt.

Hearing that briefly brought Sam back to sanity as she looked at Danny, seeing the look on his face to make it clear he was the one telling the truth.

"What? Really?..."Sam asked, looking hopeful and relieved.

"Duh..."Danny said as he pulled Sam off of Lum...just in time to save her as Lum was about to strike.

"1...2...3...Devine retribution!..."Lum shouted as she used her lightning powers on the goth girl who attacked her...only to see that she zapped Danny by mistake.

"AHHH!..."He yelled.

"Danny!..."Sam shouted in concern.

"Darling?!..."Lum said in worry as she went to him.

She then glared at Sam.

"Look at what you made me do to my darling!..."She accused.

Sam got furious.

"What I did? You did that yourself, you lying witch!..."She shouted. "Plus, you were going to fry me!..."She yelled.

"You're the one who attacked a pregnant woman!..."Lum accused.

"She's not pregnant, It's all a lie! I'd never do that!..."Danny insisted, ignoring the offended look from the alien princess.

"No kidding, you get too weak-kneed to even talk to girls, much less even think about doing that..."Sam said, showing that she believes him.

"Exactly!..."He said in relief, before he realized what she said. "Wait, what's that suppose to mean?..."He asked but was ignored.

"STAY AWAY FROM HIM!..."The two girls yelled at each other while the ghost boy groaned as the girl drama continued.

"What else can happen?..."He thought, unknowingly jinxing himself.

While everyone had been Sam and Lum's cat-fight, No one noticed Rei's temper was rising and he was beginning to lose control of himself as he began to change.

"L-Lum!..."He thought, his anger getting the better of him.

Ten didn't help much when he went to Rei, trying to make him leave.

"Don't know if you noticed Rei, but Lum says three weeks developed..."He lied, hoping it would make the male Oni to leave.

It didn't work as Rei just started panting heavily again and snarling before he exploded. Unable to keep it in any longer, Rei let out a animal like roar as he changed from an handsome man into a beast

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!..."Rei let out as he changed into what looked like a fusion between a tiger and a bull and started growing to giant size.

Danny, Sam and Lum saw this and had differing levels of shock and worry.

"Oh man!..."Danny exclaimed as he suddenly put on his game face.

"I'm going ghost!..."He said as he changed into his iconic hero form

Once done, Danny then grabbed hold of Rei and phased the growing shapeshifter out of his house with intangibility before he destroyed his house and before his family got squished.

Once they were outside, Lum was happy to see Danny taking care of Rei while Sam sent a glare at Ten.

"Why did you say that?!..."She demanded and Ten looked sheepish.

"I thought that it would help make him go away..."He said while Sam sent him a dirty look.

Lum, on the other hand, looked out the window to see her beloved and her hated ex-boyfriend facing each other.

"Darling..."Lum said in concern as things were about to get even crazier.

Outside

Lum (who quickly put on her disguise), Sam, Ten and even Jazz ran out the house, the latter due to hearing the loud noise.

"What's going on?..."Jazz asked, having been shocked by loud sounds and what she briefly thought had been an earthquake.

"Apparently, Lum's ex is shape-changing monster and he's angry since Lum lied to get him to leave..."Sam gestured to the large, tiger-cow monster who was trying to smash Danny with his claws.

Jazz's jaw dropped when she saw him.

"THAT'S Rei?!..."The red-head exclaimed in horror as the female witness was seeing what used to be a handsome man who is now fighting her brother.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!..."Monster Rei kept shouting as he grew to giant size and was now a huge monster on a rampage.

Danny tried to calm him down.

"Rei, chill out! Lum was lying, she's not pregnant! I don't like her, much less want to have a kid with her!..."Danny tried to reason with him, mostly because he was still hoping he could take Lum away.

The tiger-cow-monster-thing didn't listen as it roared at him and tried to swing. Danny managed to dodge and he glared at the large, oni monster.

"Okay, I see that you're not in the mood to listen...so I guess I'll have to knock you out..."He said as he knew that he was going to have to fight him.

He tried to send some ecto-blasts and ice blasts to the jealous alien, who was still on a rampage.

Soon enough, citizens and the media witness the battle, and as always, Lance Thunder was there to report the scene.

"Why do I always have to do everything except weather, which is what I signed on for?!..."Lance complained, not happy to report these weird things before he realized they were on.

The weatherman/news reporter soon sent a serious look to the camera as he spoke.

"This is Lance Thunder, coming to you live near Fenton Works. It seems that Danny Phantom is once again facing off against another ghost monster, who that is by far, the most bizarre looking one yet..."Lance said as Rei continued his rampage.

Sam heard him and sighed.

"At least they think Rei is a ghost, not an alien..."She thought, happy to have one problem resolved.

They now had to get back to their bigger one...mainly a giant, rampaging alien beast who was trying to crush Danny.

"RAAHHHH!..."Rei roared again as he tried to hit him.

Danny dodged a swipe from Rei's paw. He then dodged another swipe from Rei's other paw.

The male oni snarled at him as he crawled on all fours before he tried to pounce and crush Danny. However, the halfa went intangible and Rei hit the ground hard. The Oni shook his head to regain his senses before seeing Danny and glaring.

"Is this what everyone on your world is like? Girls are lightning shooting lunatics and boys turn into tiger monsters? If that's so, now I know for sure that I don't want to have a kid with her..."He said.

Rei didn't say any words, he just roared loudly again, making it clear that he was just a wild beast now and lacking any higher thinking...not that he did when he was in his oni form either but he's less capable now.

"GRRAAARRGH!..."Rei roared with his claws bared as he tried to swing at him again.

Danny turned intangible and the paw easily went through him...and Rei accidentally ended up hitting part of the wall leading to the backyard, breaking one of his window's in the process.

"Hey! That's the bathroom!..."He said before getting angry.

The ghost boy then realized that he had to take this fight someplace less domesticated before this guy caused any more damage to the city.

Rei tried to grab Danny again, but Danny rolled out of the way before blasting him in the face. Rei shook his head and tried to resume his assault, only for a fist to connect with his stomach, making him pull back and clutch to it hard.

With his feline foe distracted, Danny grabbed him by the tail and spun him around with increasing speed before sending him upward and making him crash to the ground.

"Who said grabbing the tiger by the tail was a bad thing?..." Danny asks before, once Rei was close enough, roundhouse kicked him.

Lum saw this and grinned.

"Such amazing skill, my future children will be lucky indeed..."She said dreamily as she watched the battle, ignoring the glare from the goth female.

As Rei tried to recover from the crash, a certain ghost boy decided to send him flying, hopefully to a less populated area.

"Take this, Mr. Hyde!..."Danny shouted as he flew fast and managed to sucker punch the alien monster.

He managed to send a powerful and Rei was soon sent flying until he was out of sight. Lancer Thunder saw this and smiled in relief.

"Thankfully, it seems that local hero/vigilant, Danny Phantom, is handling this matter and with any luck, there will be peace again and no need to get the Fentons involved..."He said, almost used to this by now.

Sam and Jazz looked relieved while Ten looked amazed and Lum looked love-struck after what they just witness.

"Danny is so strong!..."Ten said in admiration.

"Oh, Darling is so noble!.."Lum said with hearts in her eyes.

Sam and Jazz sent her a dirty look at that.

"Don't think that you two are off the hook, it's your fault this happened..."Sam said, still angry at her lie.

"What did Lum do this time?..."Jazz asked, guessing she had something to do with this.

"I'll tell you later, first we gotta help Danny..."Sam said, knowing he needs help.

"I'm coming too!..."Lum said as she followed behind.

"Me too..."Ten said.

"Whatever, but don't think your lie is gonna be forgotten..."Sam said as she started running.

Lum glared at her.

"It won't be a lie for long..."Lum said as she crossed her arms.

"I don't think you have a good chance of that anymore..."Ten said under his breath, which his cousin didn't hear.

They soon left to the direction where Danny and Rei had gone...or rather, where Danny had sent him.

All the while, They were unaware as a robotic insect flew after them recording everything.
