Those Obnoxious Ghosts

Chapter 17: Danny vs Rei

Rei had landed in the woods near Amity Park.

He was dazed and in pain, so much that he changed back to his oni form.

The very handsome oni was also very stupid, he is also very stubborn.

He only had two loves in his life...food and Lum and he would not let ANYONE take either away from him...

Especially that earthling whom impregnated his beloved...and who also was the one who sent him flying and crashing landing here.

"Ouch!..."Rei let out as he hissed in pain from the punch.

No one has ever managed to hit him with such power and force...expect Lum.

He didn't like it and would not let it stand.

"Angry..."He thought in what passes for his mind.

The oni male was very angry and hungry, even more than earlier...until something very...uh...alien...happened to him.

It's something that seldom ever happens, due to his mind being more focused on food and Lum but his rage seemed to have opened up the possibility for him to get back at that weird earthling..

"Idea..."Rei let out as he got up and made his way back to where Lum and his rival are.

He had a score to settle and a bride to win back, one way or another.

With Danny

The ghost boy flew around and tried to find signs of Rei.

"Where is he? How hard is it to find something that looks like a rejected Pokemon?..."He asked out loud but didn't see him.

The ghost boy soon landed in a clearing and looked around. Soon, Sam, Lum, Jazz and Ten arriving via Jazz's car.

"Danny!..."Jazz, Sam and Ten said in relief.

"Darling!..."Lum said as she tried to hug him.

Danny frowned as he moved away from her, crossing his arms.

"Don't think I forgot that you made this worse than it needed to be..."He said, still mad at her for that.

Lum frowned.

"I had to! Rei was never going to leave me alone and this girl was ruining everything!..."Lum said as she pointed to Sam.

"Excuse me?! You're blaming me for the fact that you lied that you and Danny fooled around and you're carrying the end result of that mistake?!..."She shouted.

"Wait...what?!..."Jazz exclaimed. "Did you seriously lie about being pregnant?!..."She exclaimed.

"So what? All that matters is that Rei still thinks it and I'm off limits..."Lum said, not believing she did anything wrong.

Danny growled.

"Because of you, I just made an enemy I didn't want and we now have to deal with a crazed tiger-cow monster that now wants me dead!..."He yelled.

"Don't worry, you are WAY stronger than Rei and while his beat form might look bizarre, he's not that strong..."Lum said dismissively.

"Tell that to my house..."Danny said sarcastically as recalled the damage made.

Before they could continue with this argument, someone suddenly appeared to the scene.

It's Rei.

He was dirty, his handsome face was marred with the bruises from Danny's punch and he also looked tired.

"Suddenly, he's only 50% less hot..."Jazz thought, no longer feeling as giddy around him as she was earlier.

"You again?!..."Danny said as he got ready.

Rei pulled out what looked to be a gun and aimed it at his foe.

"Gun..."Was all he said, still pointing at Danny.

"What is that? Some special gun from your world?..."Danny asked as he got ready for anything.

"He's challenging you to a duel..."Lum said to her beloved.

Rei nodded to confirm what she said, while he kept pointing.

Danny frowned and rolled his eyes.

"If you want me to kick your butt again, then let's do it some other time..."He said, not in the mood to deal with this drama.

"You'd have to do it now, otherwise he would shoot you right then and there..."Lum explained.

Danny rolled his eyes again.

"So it's either fight him or be shot at...not much of a choice, is it? Definitely hard to pick..."He muttered sarcastically as he charged his fists with ecto-energy.

"Okay, you ugly rejected cereal mascot, let's get this over with since some of us have to get some sleep..."He said, wanting this over with.

Lum swooned at this.

"Oh, Darling...how wonderful of you to fight to protect me..."She said as she kissed him on the cheek.

Danny frowned as he pushed her off, wiping his cheek clean.

"I'm not doing this for you..."He said, before turning to Rei.

The two males glared at each other and readied for battle..

Deep in the forest

Danny demanded that the duel be held far away from the city and witnesses. Rei agreed since he only wanted to defeat his foe and as quickly as possible.

They were now in the middle of the forest, away from any innocent civilians and only Sam, Jazz, Lum and Ten were here.

"Hate..."Rei let out in only one word.

"Just get on with it..."Danny said impatiently as the oni male then made his move.

Ordinarily, Rei would have challenged this guy to a contest to withstand being shocked by lightning in hopes of ending him, but seeing his powers are so unique, so he had to try something else..

"Wait..."The male alien said as he briefly said something in the oni-language.

"What's he saying?..."Danny asked.

"He is saying no flying! And no being untouchable!..."Lum explained.

"Fine but I don't see why I should listen to him..." Danny said as he changed forms, just wanting to end this.

He then watch Rei form a large dirt circle and gestured for Danny to enter.

"Huh?..."He let out, confused.

"He's challenging you to a contest of brute force. It's like your Earth's sumo wrestling..." Ten described.

"That means you cannot use most of your powers. If you leave the circle, you lose. He must figure if you can't fly or phase out, you'll be easier to push out..."Lum explained further.

"Just the physical stuff... I can deal with that..."Danny said as he faced his new foe.

The match began and the two males began their fight.

"Darling, don't lose!..."Lum called.

"Be careful, Danny..."Jazz said in concern.

"Show no mercy!..."Sam called out.

"Go Danny!..."Ten cheered in a fanboy kind of way.

The ghost boy sighed as he just focused on winning this fight and getting rid of this jerk.

"Okay, Stripes. Time to get out muscled..."Danny said as his eyes glowed green.

Rei tried to grab Danny, but he kept himself safe by creating a large dome of ice.

"You said no flying or intangibility! I got more powers than that!..."Danny taunted.

The alien growled as he turned to his beast form.

"Hurt! Kill! Destroy!..." Rei said in a semi-coherent growl. "WANT LUM!..."He bellowed.

"You can have Lum.. after I boot you out of here!..." Danny said.

Hearing him say that, Rei tries to throw a fist, only for Danny to bob out of the way in time.

"Hang in there, Danny!..."Jazz yelled to her brother, hoping he'd be alright.

"You seem to be over Rei now..."Ten pointed out.

Jazz frowned.

"That creep tried to kill my brother and he nearly destroyed my house when he turned into that...that...whatever you call that thing!..."She pointed out. "A woman would have to be out of her mind to still like a guy like him, no matter how handsome he is..."She said and Sam agreed with her.

"You still called him handsome..." Ten muttered, but was ignored.

"Seriously? Who'd be stupid enough to still fall for that guy's charm after knowing about this?..."Jazz wondered as the battle continued.

Meanwhile

In Japan

In the Moroboshi home, Ataru's mother was busy cleaning while her husband read the paper and her son was watching TV.

The middle aged woman suddenly sneezed, getting the attention of her husband.

"Are you alright, Dear?..."He asked his wife.

"I'm fine...someone must be gossiping about me..."Mrs. Moroboshi said, glaring at her son.

"Wasn't me, Mom..."Ataru commented before going back to his show.

Back in America

The battle continued and Rei was no closer to winning.

"Fall!..." He said as he charged at his foe, only for Danny to smirk and fire ice beams out of his eyes, freezing his face.

"RARGH!..." Rei shouted as he dropped Danny and tried to pull the ice off.

"Okay... time to get serious..." Danny said as he became invisible

Rei got angrier as he went and broke his head out of the ice.

"LOSE!..." Rei shouted as he grabbed what he thought was Danny.

However, it turns out that not who he thought. It was a duplicate of the ghost boy but he didn't know that yet. Holding him by the leg, he felt victory was his.

"RARGH!..." Rei went, throwing Danny out of the ring, only for him to disappear after a smile and wave before hitting the ground.

"RUGH?!..." He went, seeing his foe gone.

"Down here, Kitty!..."Danny said in a taunting way as he floated near the ground.

Before Rei could attack him, Danny fired a ray to the knee, making him cry out in pain and land on his knees, giving Danny a better shot at winning. A blast to the face knocked Rei out of the ring.

"Looks like I win!..." Danny said.

"RARRRGGGHHH!..." Rei went, throwing a tantrum.

Before he could grow giant size, Danny sucker punched him again and sent the the monstrous Oni flying.

"No one likes a sore loser..." Danny said, rubbing his fist with his hand.

Rei, who was still in his monster form, fell and was now passed out on the ground.

The others saw this and started to cheer.

"Yeah! Rei's down and out! Darling's the winner!..."Lum cheered.

"Alright!..."Ten said happily while Sam and Jazz were relieved that it was over.

"Darling!..."Lum said as she ran to Danny, with the others right behind her.

Lum, Sam and even Jazz embraced Danny.

"You kept your promise to protect me, after all..."Lum said happily, only to be angrily pushed away from a still fuming Danny.

"I wasn't doing this for you. I just did this to stop a crazed alien monster before he destroyed the town, no thanks to you!..."He said in anger.

Lum blinked in confusion.

"But Darling..."Lum tried.

"Don't even try and weasel your way out of this!..."He said. "Do you even comprehend how much trouble your lie caused?! My house nearly got destroyed and your ex-boyfriend was about to tear Amity Park apart all because you made him think I got you pregnant!..."He yelled.

Lum huffed at that.

"I had no choice! I had to make him leave...Plus, it wouldn't have to be a lie if you'd just do your role and agree to lay with me in your-..."She said, only for her to be cut off by a flash of green from Danny's eyes.

"LUM!..."He yelled as Jazz covered Ten's ears and Sam sent her a disgusted look.

"You're unbelievable...your lie made me think you either seduced or forced yourself on my best friend, nearly got the city destroyed by your jealous ex and now you act like you're innocent?! Plus, you talk about getting impregnated by another teenager, and with Ten around?! You're actually worse than Paulina!..."She yelled at her.

Lum frowned.

"Don't be ridiculous, I actually care for Darling!..."She insisted/

"Stop calling me that!..." Danny shouted.

"But you ARE my darling...Plus, I'll give birth to a wonderful child once you realize we are ideal for each other..."Lum said.

"You're still under the belief Danny's your husband?!..."Sam yelled in anger. "I think it's clear now you two are so wrong even Paulina has a better shot than you!..."She yelled.

Lum was about to yell at her, only for Ten to float to her...albeit hesitantly.

"Umm... Lum?..." Ten asked.

"Yes?..."She asked.

"I... I think you did go too far here. I... would like you and Danny to be happy together, but you clearly upset him..." He said.

It's strange, had it been before he got to know Danny, he would have been rooting for Rei to tear him apart, but he actually likes Danny and even he could see how upset his hero was about Lum's lying almost getting him and others seriously hurt or worse.

"What? No! Darling will-..."She was cut off when her crush started yelling again.

"STOP! CALLING! ME! THAT!..." Danny shouted, his voice echoing and making Jazz and Sam pull away.

Lum was surprised by outburst before glaring back.

"You dare to yell at your wife?!..."She yelled at him.

"You are NOT my wife! You're not my girlfriend! You're not even my friend!..."He yelled at her and the alien girl got angry and soon resorted to her trump card.

"Need I remind you that I know your secr-..."She was cut off when the boy glared with glowing eyes.

"So tell everyone! I don't care! Just get out of my life!..." Danny shouted, pointing upward.

Lum growled and lost her temper again.

"Acting so defiant can only be cute for so long before you need reminding what I can do!..." She screamed.

"1...2...3...DIVINE RETRIBUTION!..."Lum yelled as she fired her electricity, only for Danny to raise his arm in time and block it with his shield, much to her shock.

"What the?!..."She let out, unable to believe her signature move failed.

"You shouldn't have done that so much... because I know now how fast you are and how you aren't much of a fighter. Plus, according to my parents research, they think ghosts can build up enough resistance to something like electricity if they get hit enough..." Danny said, crossing his arms.

Lum growled and was upset that he was fighting back and now had resistance to her strongest attack.

She refused to give up, though.

"You best apologize to me, and agree to provide me an heir as soon as possible, preferably as soon as we get home, less you wish to feel my planet's wrath!..."She said, losing it while the ghost boy rose a hand at her.

She scoffed.

"Ha! You'd never-..."Lum's overconfidence was shattered when she felt something hit her on her exposed stomach, making her hit the ground.

"LUM!..."Ten shouted in concern as she slid on the ground, kicking up dirt.

Everyone gasped as green smoke came out of Danny's palm, his eyes still glaring at Lum. The alien girl got on her knees, eyes widened in shock and almost ready to cry.

"You... you struck me?..."She let out, feeling like she's no longer in control.

The ghost boy didn't care, he had enough of her.

"That was a warning shot. Not enough to hurt, but enough to push... I've tried to be calm, I've tried to be nice... but you've pushed me too far. Let me make this clear... one... last... time. I did not propose to you, you misheard me repeating something my dad told me about comparing a fight to proposal and I didn't even know you were there!..."He yelled.

"But I-..."She was cut off when he kept yelling at her.

"Why would I even WANT to marry you, anyway?!..."He shouted, those words hurting Lum more than his blast did.

"You invaded my planet and didn't mind picking a random person to challenge you, regardless of what he could do. You also broke your promise by staying instead of leaving when you were suppose to and pretty much try to force yourself into my life with your unwanted hugs and kisses, the borderline harassment whenever you tried to get physical with me and you stoop to try to exposing yourself when I didn't want it and actually made me afraid you really would have done something to me in my sleep!..."He said, letting his pent up frustrations out in his rant.

"In addition, you kept threatening to expose my secret, forcing me away from my friends, shocking me for refusing to do whatever stupid thing you wanted and making me eat food I'm pretty sure would have KILLED me at some point! On top of being the biggest pain ever that not even stripping yourself would have changed my mind! And it didn't!..."He yelled as he swung his arm sideways, showing he was done with it all.

"I don't want to marry you, I don't love you, I don't even like you... I don't even want to have ever KNOWN you! I don't want you to be around me, much less have my kid. Now, for the final, final, FINAL time. Get... off... my planet. I don't care if you're the princess, I don't care if you come with a fleet since I'll just fight each and everyone of them to protect my home and I don't care if you spill my secret... I don't EVER want to see you again!..." He said in anger.

With those words, Lum felt her heart shatter into a million pieces as the ghost boy looked her in the eye. She can see no love, only something closer to an emotion she didn't want him to have for her... hate.

With that, Danny turned his back to her, not even bothering to look at the alien girl starting to cry.

Silently, Lum got up and flew away, no doubt to her spaceship.

Sam and Jazz, though relieved that it looks like she's gone, were still in shock at the way Danny handled it. They were lucky he cared for them, as he was more frightening than most ghosts they've seen.

"That was... not as satisfying as I thought..."The both mused as they remained silent.

As Ten watched his cousin leave, both in sympathy and disapproval, he slowly started to go.

"I'll... make sure she goes..." He said, not wanting to risk being yelled at either.

Danny saw him and sighed. Unlike Lum, Ten has done nothing to justify this outburst, and clearly did not agree with what she did. As such, he knew there was at least one oni he didn't mind.

"Ten?..."Danny said in a calmer voice.

"Yes, Danny?..."The little boy asked.

Danny sighed as he spoke to him.

"Listen, you at the least had good intentions, even when you caused me trouble, and you admitted she went too far. So, you... are welcome to come by... she's not..."He said, not having it in him to yell at him the way he yelled at his cousin.

He's just a kid and while a brat, even he seemed to understand what happened tonight was wrong.

Ten nodded.

"Okay... thank you..."The little boy said, glad that his hero didn't hate him like he feared he would...even if he's upset about what happened with his cousin.

With that, he flew off.

Danny then walked past Sam and Jazz, not even bothering to look them in the eye. They both remained quiet, unsure what to say.

After a moment, Danny stopped in his tracks, alerting the two.

He was silent for about a few seconds before speaking up.

"Do me a favor and tell Tucker about this... I don't feel like repeating this..." He said, but before anyone can answer, he levitated off the ground. "I'm going... I dunno... just anywhere but here... if Mom and Dad ask, say anything..." He said.

Before they could answer him, he flew off, leaving the two unsure whether to enjoy that Lum seems to be gone for good, or uncomfortable with how he handled it.

"I hope he'll be okay..."Jazz said, worried for her brother.

"Danny's tough, he'll be fine. What matters is that spoiled brat is gone..."Sam said, still hoping she's gone for good.

As they left for home, they had no idea that Vlad's spy bug had recorded the entire battle and Danny's argument with Lum.

The villain smirked as he saw an opportunity.

"My, my...seems like Daniel has lost a perky ally..."He said as he saw footage of the heartbroken alien girl.

"Poor girl...she will likely be an emotional wreck..."He said before smirking again as more ideas formed. "Someone should take advantage of that..."He said before laughing wickedly.

The evil half ghost then disappeared as he went to work on the next step of his latest evil plot.
