Alexander entered and glanced about to the room of piles of bones, metal, and stone before moving forward to the next passage where two giant statues towered in guardianship, but it was from atop these headless statues that voices came, the first from the left with glowing azure eyes peering upon him. "Look brother! It's been ages, but we finally have company!"
"I see that!" The voice from the right answered with glowing amber of eyes as Alexander glanced between the two.
"We must entertain our guest!"
"You're right! We have to gracious hosts!" Both paused in Alexander tightening his jaw at the clear pause as well before Blackmorre extended a claw and Alexander took the deck of the Killer Clown's from the emerging claw before shuffling it with its return as Azure spoke in hesitance.
"What should we do?"
"How do I know? We need to come up with something!" A less patient man would be pacing and sighing at the act before them, but Alexander just continued his shuffling, playing tricks with the cards and even sending a few flying about him before catching them again as he glanced between the two as the left one spoke.
"Brother, is our guest... bored?"
"BORED? What is BORED?"
"Well, Bored is when..." Alexander stopped with pocketing the deck and spoke.
"I am sorry about that, you two are doing rather decently in making conversation and I plead that it is just me letting you both have your fun, but sadly, I am kinda looking for answers." He pocketed his hands as he spoke. "So, bottom line here, I request permission to pass through, is that acceptable?" It may have been the wrong answer, but they made it clear as from the top of the stone, shifted something else with the ground shaking.
"Our job here is to guard this door!"
"That's right! We cannot let you pass!" What stood up were burly figures of warriors, both differing in color in teal and red, but they were headless and what was talking were the heads on the hilts of the scimitars pulled free from their resting before both jumped down and Alexander nodded with awe.
"Not bad... a bit unusual, but I am new here, so I can accept that." Both charged at him and he dodged the attacks before his arms were covered in Blackmorre's power and he punched, one sliding to the attack while the other jumped for a slash for Alexander to flip past the swing and delivered a kick to the back, landing to the flaming fury that came right for him before he snatched the blade in a grip, glancing behind to the second charging with a swing before he flipped over and the blade slashed against his brother as he spoke with launching himself free with a thrust of a kick. "Hate to say it, but I am going to have to step up my game if I am going to get through, no hard feelings, guys?"
"None at all, it has been ages since we had some fun and encountered such a skilled fighter." The turquoise head on the pommel of his scimitar answered as the orange one followed up with that.
"Whatever you have to battle us, we will welcome it with great interest!"
"Alright then." Alexander breathed in generating his power and clashing his fists together in a jolt of lightning, it cascading about his body before forming around his boots, giving them a serious case of spiked fronts and wings before he dashed, the two barely having time to counter to the sheer increase of speed before he went into a flurry of electricity, whirl winding on the orange torso before delivering a drill kick into the teal body, both shattering as the blades went high up and planted into the ground behind Alexander as he dusted himself off and made to continue on before one of the voices spoke.
"Wait!" Alexander paused in turning at the orange head added to it.
"Yes, wait!" Alexander fully turned as the heads went about their routine, pleading with him. "We have been waiting for a long time!" he walked over to the planted blades as the turquoise head added.
"Yes, a very long time!"
"For someone stronger than us." Alexander stopped again, in front of the blades as they continued their plead.
"Someone who can control us." Alexander hummed with folding his arms as the orange head addressed himself.
"My name is Agni!"
"And my name is Rudra!" Rudra exclaimed as he demanded/begging with Alexander with his brother. "You shall take us with you!"
"We could be a great help to you!" Both answered as Alexander hummed before he smiled as he spoke.
"Well, when faced with such demands, who am I to deny you both?" Alexander answered with him taking hold of the handles and bringing them up in testing out a few techniques that would work with them, he hadn't fully trained in wielding scimitars, but with some footing and speed, he turned that small experience into a maelstrom of fire and wind before shifting them into a swallow and spiraling with them in hand before finishing up with him reverse gripping the blades in a crouch before Rudra spoke in awe.
"Impressive..."
"It was adequate, but I am not much of a wielder in scimitars, you guys." Alexander answered with flipping them back around and sheathing them on his back, as though he felt it on instinct to place them on his back and they stay there as he pressed on. "So, Agni, since Rudra is more of a modern-informed brother, what can you tell me of this world?"
"You are saying that you were truly not from here, Master, curious..."
"If he had said from these parts, I would have believed him too, Brother, but you possess a far greater aura than what any Demon or Human is able to possess, so Brother, what would be your take?" Alexander glanced about and a name came to mind of the chamber past the Firestorm, the Mute Goddess' Chamber.
Alexander hummed in pondering why that would come to mind now as he pushed on to the sculpture in the center, an object pointed toward a pile of rubble while onward was another door as Agni finally made a connection. "I believe that our new Master is solely Human but is either from a bygone age or from a different world, much like this world, but with a greater history or fable to magic and sorcery, he did conjure lightning and those cards and that great demon claw!"
"Indeed, I am pleased that it would be the case, and I am thankful for being given the opportunity to speak freely!" Alexander trailed about the base in glancing between upper door and the stand.
"That is until he tells us to be quiet, if we chatter his ears off..."
"Oh dear, that would be very rude of us, to banter on without consideration of our dear Master!"
"Well, your master has a question." Alexander tapped the stand in voicing. "What exactly is this thing?"
"A focus for the demonic weapon Artemis."
"But it would seem that someone has used it recently to block the way and removed the three essences from it, we will need to enter the Chamber of Three Trials to get the Essences back and insert them into the focus so that it may free the way and, perhaps, allow us to take up the Devil Arm once more."
"Devil Arm... Is that what you two are, Devil Arms now?" Alexander inquired with heading up the way where the three trials must reside as Agni answered the question.
"Indeed, Devil Arms are the last remains of a strong or powerful Demon's will, manifesting into weapons of great power and ability!"
"Some Devil Arms are forged, by a bygone time of the world around us, while others are created from those same remains, as a way of entrusting our power to another." Alexander nodded as he entered and spied three passages with pedestals in front of each stairway as Rudra spoke. "The left passage is the Trial of Wisdom, no one has... actually figured out the riddle that is there, Egyptian I believe it is." Alexander could think of one riddle that it could be as the wind scimitar continued. "The center passage is the Trial of Skill, you must prove your skill in evading."
"It makes quite the point!" Both laughed as Alexander chuckled a bit himself at their joke as the last passage was described.
"The last one is the Trial of the Warrior, it tests your strength and wit against foes that come, these trials are not simple, but they are what must be done in order to process with our journey, Master."
"Call me Alexander or Alex for short, you may be bound to me as your master, but I will treat with respect, if I can uphold that."
"Fair enough."
"As you wish." Alexander headed into the Trial of Wisdom and smirked at entering a four-way box and huffed.
"Of course, it would be this riddle." Both brothers answered with a 'huh' as Alexander headed through the door with the four flames above it. "The riddle is a famous one, 'What goes on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening'. The answer is Man."
"Wait... four... two... three... but a man would only walk on two legs." Agni answered as Rudra was just as confused with them appearing in the same room before heading for the door with the two flames.
"It is a famous riddle... four in the morning, two in the afternoon, and three in the evening... could the riddle be speaking of age then?"
"Exactly." Alexander answered with finally going through the door with three flames, they arriving to a chamber with a glowing blue orb in the center of the room. "At the cusp of life, man crawled on all four of his limbs as a baby, he grows up to walk on two legs as a adult, but when his age starts to wilt and grey his body, he is forced to use a staff, a cane, or even a stick to walk on, making it the third limb in the riddle." He reached out and picked up the orb, the Essence of Intelligence pooling into his mind before he turned around in pocketing it. "Now, let's check out the other two.
The other two trials were quite perilous as the Skill trial had him evading emerging spikes from the ceiling, walls, and floor before getting the Essence of Technique before they were accosted by more demons, Agni and Rudra exclaiming to the demons. "Hell Gluttonies, it would appear that they are starting to emerge from the Tower."
"But the Bloodgoyles are not meant to be awakened currently, someone has activated the power for the tower, the wellspring of blood must now be coming up to animate these demons!"
"Great, then let's clear them out." Alexander answered in drawing them and slashing through the ranks, even dodging the breaths of sand from the Gluttonies before they headed for the final trial, The Essence right there before getting closed up with a wheel with the stairs blocked with another wheel before Hell Prides formed and the wheels stopped, a dark aura shrouding the Prides as Alexander readied for a fight. "What is that aura...?"
"A unique power to overcharge a demon's natural abilities, also known as a Devil Trigger, Master."
"It is likely that the damage wheels were regulating the triggers, but with them ceasing function, these demons will be stronger, smarter, and faster than before, Sir."
"A Limit Breaker then, this is good to know..." Thankfully, the Prides were sluggish still as Alexander revved the wheels to life and the aura dissipated and making them easy to take down as Wraiths, Gluttonies, Lusts, and Sloths came out for a fight as well before they were fully cleared out and the barriers fell to them getting the last Essence.
They returned to the focus and inserted the Fighting Essence... to no action, but when Technique was placed in, Artemis charged up and destroyed the rubble with Alexander whistling to the laser that just emerged from the weapon before he placed the Intelligence Essence and the focus compressed itself inward and lowered itself before they pulled it off, getting Artemis in hand before they continued on, Alexander pausing in a strange statue to the side as Agni spoke up to it.
"Ah, that is a Combat Adjudicator, perform a high enough threshold of strikes and blows, and this will reward you with fragments of Blue Orbs."
"What Blue Orbs are is a way to heighten the body's natural limits in combat, we would be unsure if this will work for a human, but we have seen growing devils use these crystalized forms of life energy to strengthen themselves to great limits!" Alexander shrugged as he drew the two, suspecting that they were needed for this one, it clearly seemed like it.
"Well then, I better not dawdle with getting it high enough, just to see if I can." He took a breath and went in, striking with a flurry of slashing and spins before it shattered once all of the flames on it went out, the Fragment floating there before Alexander picked it up, it glowing brightly for a second before settling as Agni spoke.
"Interesting... that only happens with other devils."
"But you are fully human, we can feel your humanity..."
"So what are you really, Master?" Alexander hummed before he heard steps and jumped up into the rafters, perching on the beams as someone had arrived, he resting his finger to his mouth and both scimitars acknowledged the request as Alexander took in the features of the newcomer, the one with the suppressed energy.
He donned a red trench coat that was totting what must have been a shotgun, forgoing a shirt with a pair of dark brown jeans on, with black combat boots on, but it was the weapons that caught his attention, a sword that was folded into itself at the hilt, a pair of pistols that were clearly custom-made to a T as locks of silver adorned his head, seeming more like a casual wanderer than a warrior or even a hunter for the time being as Alexander kept in the shadows to observe as the sound of gunfire echoed from higher up and the young man stepped out onto the exposed balcony in staring up before he lashed out a hand, catching a crimson boot of a young woman, totting a large rocket launcher on her back who, on reacting to the figure who just caught her, aimed both a pistol and a submachine gun at him as he comment with some amuse. "Well, this is my kind of rain." He peered up as he continued, fearless of the guns aimed at him. "No wonder the sky looks so funny today." He peered back down as the woman demanded.
"Let me go!"
"Let you go?" He chuckled as he answered back just fine. "But it'd be a waste if you ended up as just a pretty stain." That wasn't a good answer it seemed as she fired off a shot, right into his forehead, dropping her and toppling him to the ground, the sound of some slashing through stone grinding out before it stopped, Alexander blinking as the young man... got up with a clear gush of blood from his forehead as he peered down in shouting, likely at the woman who just shot him. "What the hell was that for?! Here I am trying to help you, and you show your thanks by shooting me?!" Another shot rang out and Alexander expected the bullet to lodge itself in his face, so catching it with his teeth was not too far off as he spat it out and disregarded the now hanging woman. "Whatever, do as you please." He walked away as he mumbled, dashing a bit of blood on the wall before it dripped down as a seven. "I'm beginning to think I've got rotten luck with women."
"Most humans consider getting shot in the skull to be a death sentence." Agni spoke and both Alexander and Rudra deadpanned as the young man stopped in his tracks before Alexander facepalmed.
"Agni... you just out'd us..."
"...Whoops..." The click of guns told Alexander enough as he lifted his head and spoke.
"Hold your fire..." Alexander leapt down from the beams as he spoke. "I, and my Devil Arms, mean you no harm... or at least, harm not aimed at you in any way, Sir."
"Sir...?" The stand-off lasted for a bit before the young man stashed his pistols, both being M1911's with chambers designed for the .45 ACP rounds, with a playful huff. "You here to taunt me as well as that clown or are you friends with my brother?"
"Frankly, if he was with the one who raised this tower again, he would be up there right now."
"But as you can see, he has little interaction with a 'clown' or being friends with whomever is your brother."
"Agni, Rudra, please don't defend me when I can still speak..." Alexander huffed with running a hand down his face as he spoke. "And yes, orange scimitar is Agni while his brother in turquoise is Rudra, Devil Arms I defeated in combat and so, they are along for the ride with me." he folded his arms as he spoke. "I'm Alexander and who are you?" The guy chuckled as he answered the question.
"Name's Dante and good luck keeping those boneheads quiet, I don't work well with anyone who got a bigger mouth than me."
"And I have pegged you as a womanizer, shocking..." Alexander answered with walking past Dante, the guy blinking before he turned in Alexander passing on his way with glancing over to him. "I am not going to stop, but if we are going to make treks, you better pick up those boots." Dante laughed in following and overtaking Alexander as they soon dropped down the tower of open space and jump pads to a library, getting confronted by statues that were modeled like either chess pieces or sentry guards, Dante finding some strange fragment on the ground, underneath one of the Damned Pawns and bringing them all the way up the tower to another open balcony, Alexander glancing over the edge with a whistle.
"Whoever that woman was, getting tossed off this high should have killed her, if you hadn't caught her, Dante."
"Yeah, well, she was lucky that I saved her petty ass, getting shot for my kindness is not something that I would like to repeat." Alexander nodded in sympathy for the guy who, though might be a perv, he was a good-natured one as they pressed on past more Pawns into another room that suddenly sealed shut with a red aura at the doors as Alexander inquired.
"Dante... what exactly could be here to cause that sort of reaction?"
"Demons..." Dante answered with whipping out both pistols and sweeping the area. "It's only fair, I am a devil hunter, after all." Alexander didn't know what a 'Devil Hunter' was meant to be, but if it was in any relation to a 'Vampire Slayer', then the concept were not so foreign after all as they approached the statue of what may have been a mermaid amongst the caskets before a low grunt rang out, both turning to a Hell, but it was carrying an iron maiden that it swung about before planting, it opening up to a ghastly light that released souls into the air before landing on the ground and forming new Hells. "Damn, some spawners in this game, we better put them down quick, I like a decent two in my party."
"Either he is talking game logic or he is just a party man." Alexander shook his head as he joined in putting them down, Dante actually making things interesting as he peppered the Hells with his dual pistols, Ebony and Ivory, and quick drawing the shotgun, being a Coyote-A, for maximum damage, but it was his skills in his claymore, the Rebellion, and the nunchakus that he had obtained with defeating the guardian Cerberus, that made him shine against the demons as Alexander picked up the pace with the twin scimitars or even using Artemis in quite amusing ways, bouncing off the lasers to hit multiple foes which was easier against the Hell Greed, after Alexander somehow got the knowledge of the demon with Dante killing it. he didn't want to showcase his other powers until he was sure that Dante didn't suddenly decide to spike him, which was likely for him right now as they finished the demons off and something clattered to the ground from the mermaid and the barriers shattered as Dante picked the strange bottle off the ground of the statue before Agni spoke.
"Ah, a Siren's Shriek, that bottle is only good for one use, due to the age of this place, but it is said that they can douse the gravest of flames without question."
"But where would such a flame be?"
"Right at the entrance, I saw some serious fire down there myself."
"You're the leader here." Dante chuckled in keeping the way going, they finding the next room to be a lift and, using the fragment of Orihalcon in what must have been a reactor or the like, the shutters opened to an elevator and they headed down, into the main hall where Dante entered after beating Cerberus and found the door inflame, dousing it and heading on in before busting down a cracked wall to a mass crypt of bones and a damage wheel, Dante showing off some serious style before a large ball dropped and the two of them shrugged at each other before beating up the wrecking ball, it shattering to drop a skull made of crystal and they picking it up to the room sealing to more Hells dropping in to kill them, Alexander was surprised that Dante got shot and lived, but when Pride scythes cut right on through his body and he didn't so much as yelp in pain, more like just ripping the blades out to quickly-healing flesh, Alexander knew right off the bat... that he was NOT in the company of any normal devil hunter, it was a devil hunter who was BORN as a mixed race, a hybrid of human and demon.
The barrier went down and Dante chuckled to the shocked look on Alexander's face as he spoke. "Surprised by how well I handled those demons?"
"More like I was wondering how bad you got hurt in your childhood." That answer dropped a frown on Dante's face and Alexander grimaced as it was clear that what was just said was a bad choice of words. "Sorry, bad choice of words, just that... I have never really seen someone walk off bullet shots and even bladed weapons to a quick healing, I was just... taken by surprise, I mean no offense." Dante hummed as they returned to the lift and headed back up to the crypt room, clearing it of demons again and heading for the other doorway, where the skull was used to open the way, with a mild shock show before they emerged back outside and Dante paused in looking over the city, Alexander pausing with turning to him before he spoke.
"When I was eight, I forgot who I was." Alexander didn't answer back as Dante spoke. "The only things I still had after whatever happened to make me forget were my sword and my mother's amulet." He lightly grasped the amulet in hand as he spoke. "It had been that way and calling myself Tony Redgrave until last year, when my brother did something that killed a lot of people, I feel like he had changed for the worse, but he is... still my brother..."
"I see..." Alexander answered with folding his arms, this was a private thing to hear and Redgrave... was that the name of a city or a person? He would need to investigate this a bit deeper before long as Dante continued with letting the amulet rest on his chest again.
"And now, he is here, I don't know why, I don't really care, we are going to fight, and that is it." Dante rested a hand on Rebellion as he walked past. "So don't get in the way, unless you want to square up." Alexander remained where he was before turning to the leaving Dante and spoke.
"I knew someone like you and I helped heal them, don't make the mistake of thinking that all you have will be enough, it was never not enough to be ready and prepared for what else was in the world." Dante didn't hear him as a barrier formed on the door and Alexander peered out as the rain started to come down in liters. "Dante... Sapphire had hate in her heart for me before I told her... I hope you would hear me out as well, when the time comes and you do hear me..."
Dante continued his trek up the ramp and up the stairs to the open space, where a figure with slick-back silver hair waiting with a blue trench coat on before he glanced to the side as he spoke. "You showed up." Dante drew Ivory as the figure, his brother Vergil, fully turned to face Dante, a katana in hand, as Dante ranted off.
"You sure know how to throw a party! No food, no drinks, and the only babe just left."
"My sincerest apology brother." Vergil answered as he spoke with a stoic tone. "I was so eager to see you, I could concentrate on... preparations for the bash." Dante huffed as he walked about before turning back to Vergil.
"Whatever, at any rate, it's been a whole year since we last met." He spread his arm out a bit as he asked. "How about a kiss from your little brother?" The tone got hostile as he flipped Ivory about before aiming the white pistol at Vergil with a click. "Or better yet, how about a kiss from THIS!" Rain poured over them as thunder roared overhead as Dante commented with the tension. "So this is what they call a heartwarming family reunion, eh?" Vergil peered down a bit as he answered back.
"You got that right." He flicked the blade out and the battle was on. They, the brothers of blood, fought with differing ideals behind their blades as the thunder rumbled and roared with every strike, with every blow as if they were destined to fight for all time before they started to tire out before Dante charged again, Rebellion clashing with Yamato before Vergil, his hair falling to match Dante's, sent Dante flying into one of the stone statues there before Ebony came free and Dante fired, Vergil catching the bullets on the edge of Yamato, laying four down before flicking them at Dante at the same speed, Dante reacting just as fast in slashing them in half and they sputtering in the dark air as Vergil demanded. "Why do you refuse to gain power? The power of our father Sparda?" Dante scuffed with standing back up as he retorted.
"Father? I don't have a father. I just don't like you, that's all." Once more they clashed, their blades growing smolderingly hot with friction before Vergil disarmed Dante, Rebellion spinning through the air before planting into the stone, just as Vergil ran his brother through with Yamato, blood falling to the stone as Vergil lectured his pierced brother.
"Foolishness, Dante." He stabbed it further to Dante's grunt of pain as Vergil continued. "Foolishness..." Dante panted as Vergil made his statement. "Might controls everything. And without strength, you cannot protect anything." He snatched the edge of the coat to Dante's pain as he finished. "Let alone yourself." And he shoved in pulled Yamato out, toppling Dante backwards as Vergil reached out in taking Dante's amulet and when Dante reached for it in vain, Vergil slashed his hand as Dante dropped onto the stone with blood pooling out as Vergil stared at the amulet, resting it to his forehead before smoothing his hair back to its slick style as he sheathed his blade and started to walk away, picking up Rebellion in the process, just as Dante started to get back up, only for Vergil to turn about and rammed Rebellion into Dante, pinning him into the stone with Rebellion jutting out of his chest and the blood pouring out, Vergil releasing as a voice called out.
"Do you finally have it?" Vergil turned to Arkham approaching as Vergil admitted it.
"Yes! Now the spell Sparda cast will be broken!" Vergil answered in walking past the bald man with a severe facial burn, resting his book to his chest to the body of Dante before turning to join Vergil in going.
The rain poured over the body with Rebellion stuck in it before Rebellion suddenly shifting in appearance, as if awakened as its cross guard extended out into a proper one, the demon skull on one of the sides suddenly opening its mouth in screaming with a flash of red from its eyes before a gush of water sent the blade flying up and Dante charged right for Vergil, he quickly blocking the feral punch with losing some traction for a moment as Yamato slashed through Dante's hand, but healed instantly as Vergil commented in amuse. "I see a devil inside you has awakened as well." Dante was heedless as he ripped his hand to pieces, it healing just as well before he held the blade and tossed, Vergil soaring for a bit before attempting to fight the feral Dante before he was stopped by Arkham.
"Wait! We should leave." Vergil eased up as Arkham finished. "For the moment, we have all we need." Dante stomped about with a white aura about him as he panted with hazed eyes, Vergil acknowledging the statement as he turned and leapt off the tower with Arkham following, Dante pausing as the aura shifted red before going white again as he let out a shout, his form shifting into an armored being before fading back out and he toppling to the ground, blood pooling out once more, but it was healing more quickly than before...
Dante grunted as he got up and ripped off his sleeve as Alexander spoke, having been beside Rebellion as he leaned against one of the stone statues. "So... how did your little fight go...?" Dante disregard him as he picked up the altered Rebellion and placed it on his back. Alexander kicked off as he noted. "Not good, I see..." Dante peered over the tower edge before he grunted in rage in slamming a fist into the statue and then looking at it, just as it erupted into dust, he pulling away in seeing no damage before he smirked.
"It didn't go so well, but if you are a smart aleck, then you can help me out, we got some skills to work out!" With that, he launched himself off the tower, Alexander huffing before he followed, Dante breaking through some of the wind barriers before he got to ripping through the Bloodgoyles with ease, shredding them with his guns and Rebellion perfectly well, even a mob of the demons couldn't stop him as he blitzed those devils before hurling his blade, spiking three, and adding a bullet for good measure as it blazed through so many more before he ran straight for his blade, both going at speeds that would surely burn a normal human on impact before he launched himself into the air... right into the mouth of the flying whale, Alexander just following Dante in as both landed in the belly of the titan as Agni spoke.
"Oh dear, why did we have to go into Leviathan, there is a reason why this Evil God-Beast was sealed away in the first place!"
"Yes, its body serves as a passage into the Hell of Envy, envious souls are the source of this weapon's power, and it is a weapon, not a demon, just an organic weapon which will also bring forth Hell Envies to fight us."
"Cute story."
"I wouldn't doubt it, Dante." Alexander answered with taking Rebellion off Dante's back, now that they had a moment to gather their thought before proceeding on, turning the cross guard about in inspecting it. "Okay... I think I got a brief picture to Rebellion now."
"Do tell, Al." Alexander didn't rise to the nickname as he spoke.
"The sword was in a dominant state of energy, but it must have been awakened by your own blood, melding demon and human together properly, so it would stand to reason that what I just heard before I arrived to your mending body is you unlocking your Devil Trigger correctly and tapping out for it to finish mending and augmenting your body to increasing levels as demons seem to be at a set level of power and strength, humans can expand on that, and hybrids..." Alexander offered Rebellion back and Dante took it as Alexander finished. "Hybrids shattered the threshold like brittle sugar cane."
"Okay..." Dante answered as they took out pustules that must connect to a passage through the behemoth. "But what about my brother, what is Vergil after really?"
"Good question, and I think I have a general answer." Alexander spoke in them heading on through and avoiding the 'pools' inside the intestinal tracts. "Rebellion is a strong blade, embedded with your father's power, if the truth of Sparda is real, so that means that your brother's blade is just as strong, but that doesn't answer my question..." Alexander hummed before Agni broke the thought.
"Hmm... The Dark Knight Sparda sealed the passage between the Human and Demon Worlds with a fraction of his power, power similar to what that sword is containing, the Perfect Amulet that he divided in half, his own blood, and the blood of a human priestess. I feel like I am missing something else here, Master, but I can't recall if-"
"No, Brother, you are correct, we are missing a blade, we are missing the Sparda in this matter as we have only seen brief sightings of this 'Yamato' and the Rebellion is right here, we are missing a sword."
"My dad had a sword?" Dante raised a brow as both heads answered.
"He was the Dark Knight Sparda, his greatest weapon was the Devil Sword Sparda, the source of all of his great and limitless power!"
"If that is the case, then Vergil must be after that same power..." Alexander tapped his jaw as he spoke. "But you said that he would need three things, the amulet, his family blood, and the blood of the priestess which, may I point out, we have no clue as to WHOM is the heir to it?" They passed what must have been the Heart and Lungs behind a protective gland before pressing on, Alexander arming the Artemis and blasting behind them, the Gigapede that emerged from behind them screeching in death at the laser shredding through the soft tissue inside and giving up Red Orbs for Alexander to see about converting properly, if you could convert crystalized demon blood into modern currency. " So does he know or is he in the dark about it, only after the blood of Sparda and the Amulet?"
"Who knows, though considering my brother, he may have undergone tunnel vision once the word 'power' was hurled out there..." Dante hummed before he spoke with them continuing on. "I... used to live in Redgrave City, just my father, mother, Vergil, and me." They arrived to more of the tissue assimilating various things into the creature as Alexander questioned.
"Does this have to do with your past? Are you sure?"
"Positive, you have been a good ear and you are keeping the chatterboxes quiet, so I can give you a bit of backstory." Dante answered with a smirk before a frown. "We were happy, a great family, but then Dad went elsewhere, and our home was attacked... the last thing I remembered back then was my mother going to try and find Vergil, but nothing else, I was left with the body of my mother and Vergil was nowhere to be found, just like Dad." He huffed as he continued. "I became a mercenary, got these custom guns because normal guns broke in my hands too often, and donned the name of Tony Redgrave... until recently." Alexander nodding as Dante commented with them taking something that was in the retina and the whole place going instantly dark. "Geez, who turned the lights off, I get I can deal with late-night jobs, but this is just silly."
"Perhaps that orb we just grabbed was the power source for this thing, but that could be our key to getting to the Heart and Lungs and bringing this thing down, we do need to catch up to Vergil somehow." Dante chuckled at doing that as they headed out, Dante the one to kill the Gigapede that tried to chomp on them, blitzing it into pieces with Ebony and Ivory which were actually accustom to his demonic power and were powerful together or alone as well as never needing to reload, as they pressed on through the darkness and back to the organs, the semi-permeable wall receding and waking the organs to the danger as Envies and a beam was directed at them, they needing to damage one of the lungs enough to unshielded the Heart and wail on it, a cycle of back-and-forth before they finally destroyed the heart and both braced as they knew that the biological weapon was going down...
