Alexander took his time in both learning more of the world, but also adjusting his already extraordinary power to the reality, especially with the fact that he had lost a portion of his humanity to the new 'Grim Trigger' he has which was both awe-inspiring and terrifying for demons and humans alike, but the current matter at hand was this... finding out something that Nevan had let slip.
A year was what it took to get it out of her, but it was something else. It turned out that, while Vergil had been walking through the Temen-Ni-Gru, she had noticed how the young man was much more... open, she had seen it happen with sheer clarity that Vergil had been busy elsewhere and the scent was of a fine wine. Now, any wine would have been a toss-up, but the 'freshly pressed' gave Alexander a narrow line and he had informed Dante of checking something out, just to investigate something out of the norm.
While he had left it up to Dante to think on, Alexander did want to check it out and his search further narrowed down to an isolated island, by the name of Fortuna. The reason why was on the fact that, due to Sparda himself having reigned over Fortuna, a militant organization by the name of 'The Order of the Sword' had been growing in strength and voice which was why Alexander was seeing them as militant as much of the populace prayed and worshiped the name and figure of Sparda while he had been there, sealing the large black tablet in the town shut and for good reason.
Alexander frowned to the Hellgate and was concerned on if there were more about Fortuna that must be destroyed before things got bad before he focused on his task again, searching about for any trace of Vergil that either had left a mark or something else. So far, nothing was turning up and he wondered if he was just looking for a goose chase before he heard it.
"I don't understand why that child is so upset, and why anyone would even want such a grieved boy."
"No one knows and, frankly, I wonder if the mother had abandoned him in the first place." Alexander's ears heard that as he looked to find two woman, their hoods up as they conversed, likely heading from the place they were from. "If that is the case, then no one is fessing up to having the boy, but it would make little sense, we are not poor, rather well-off for a small home, but it concerns me all the same."
"Of course, though I do wonder if the dirty white hair is from the mother or father." They passed by, but Alexander frowned in checking things out a bit more. The tone and sound made it all too clear, there was a child abandoned at the orphanage, possessing white hair which was uncommon and the timing to it was a year or two, a mere baby, and that is too concerning to even process as Alexander peered about and even made a more-demonic Peeping Eye to check it out, his left eye preforming the observation from the Eye before he found the child and it was... the little babe was calming down, but it was clear that he wanted someone to feed him ad play with him, he humming before blinking, creating a like-image of the statue Sparda plush and dropping it behind the fussy boy, the crying stopping as the child turned to the plush and laughed in playing with it, Alexander nodding as he held out his hand and spoke. "Vision, welcome back, my old friend."
The Peeping Eye chirped happily in the new form and Alexander laughed atop one of the spires. "Indeed, it has been too long since we had an adventure together, but I do apologize for sending you to scope out a possible lead." Vision chirped with gripping maintained talons and resting on Alexander's shoulder before the bottom of the orb opened and shut in rows of teeth as he deadpanned. "...It seems that you are going to be a right horror on the world now..."
The point was that Vision now looked more like a Ahriman than a Peeping Eye, but that was perhaps for the best in blending into the world as he headed back out with Vision filling in the gaps. "Yes, I suspect it as well and I would tell Dante... but I want to make a better man out of him, not much of a slob to be honest, nothing much I can do with his need for scant pics and demon trophies."
Vision chirped again and Alexander nodded as they left the island behind. "True, it would work with focusing on what he does, but in isolating his skills to only that, he would be running the risk of running out of funds." A whistle and Alexander shrugged as he spoke. "Sure the jobs would be dirty and all of that, but understanding them and finding alternate ways of payment is of the best and logical, probably even morally correct course." Vision chirped happily as Alexander just beamed, all the while it was clear that he was scaring the other passengers with both his intimidating form and his little demonic orb.
It could be likely that he wouldn't be visiting Fortuna again unless he learned how to fly or teleport to the city again...
Turns out there were a lot of dirty jobs to be done, sure the clean-up and other tasks of picking up the city and rebuilding were in perfect order, there was also the gun running, drugs, and other stuff that was sure to get him in trouble, but it seemed that whenever he picked up a task like that, he had the habit of also encountering demons trying to pick a fight, finding the clients in danger of said demons, or just demons trying to drift their little fiefdom about the city for their own control.
That started to circulate into a real rep for him, enough to get Dante moving as well and having the two start competing to complete the jobs and everybody learned that they are VICOUS in competing, but at the same time, they had the good conscience to question the deliveries and the goods as well as the mending and the fury that comes with putting cocky thugs and hoodlums in their place. Even had a thing go down with a joint bank account and some robbers trying to pick a fight, coming inches of their lives when both glared at them with rage in their eyes and they may have been projecting strong enough auras to manifest a form of Dante's Trigger and a demonic Blackmore, that may have spread the word of devil hunters had limits and they would do well NOT to push them too poorly.
Still, Alexander used the time to fully catalogue the Devil Arms Dante and he had found. The first was not the Rebellion as Dante kept that blade close on hand and wanted its secrets to himself, his 'heritance' in a way. The first Devil Arm was Cerberus and that was fascinating. Despite the clear ice element to the nunchaku, it was possible that the race of Cerberus grew to inherit a number of elemental abilities, three in total for each head with the current King Cerberus wielding fire, ice, and lightning in conjoined combat, but that one was set to roam the Demon World until one called forth the Qliphoth, a demonic tree that connected the Human and Demon worlds together, absorbing both sets of blood to form an expanding series of roots for demon and nourish the coming of its Fruit with human, a fruit said to be the equal of a god, the same power Mundus used to conquer one half of the Demon World while the other was controlled by a being known as Argosax, a being of supreme evil, both having been defeated by Sparda while he reigned in the Human World.
The next were Agni and Rudra, the scimitar brothers who embody fire and wind respectively and could be combined to create a 'firestorm', Alexander knew that he could experiment a bit and improve those limits, it was a challenge, but he liked being given that sort of issue when he ran the Fallen Armory.
The Artemis was unique in the fact that it was mainly using a laser to attack, sure that there were trick shots and blind shots here and there, but that was it for it, a straight laser and a rain shot, so there was a trial run to understand.
Nevan was a... thing, she was familiar with Sparda with a lustful tone, from what Dante had told him, and worked as a vampire with lightning, considering her attire was hair and bats barely up the lower waist, it just felt wrong, but Alexander worked with it, the Succubus and Lilith souls were in the same rating and he didn't dare deal Astarte into this, that was one lust demon that he didn't need.
Beowulf was Vergil's, it attaching to Dante when he went and picked it up from the gap where Vergil had fall knocked out, but the light element and the strong power made the gauntlet and greaves an open book with any number of tricks and techniques that would be suitable to improving the fighting style or even switching it up.
As for ballistics, Dante had gained the twin pistols Ebony and Ivory from a old gunsmith, Nell Goldstein, who worked on them to the very end and in Dante's arms, stole the shotgun Coyote-A from a bar connected to a strip club, the Spiral which was picked up inside the Temen, the weapon an anti-tank rifle, and the brief handle on the Kalina Ann which functioned as both a rocket launcher and bayonet. With that in mind, Alexander breathed in coming to a firm standing, if he was going to compete or even match up with Dante's machine gun trigger finger, he needed to make a weapon for himself, he leaning back in thinking on it for a feasible idea to work with.
He stood up and put on some music before making tracks across the interior in thought, looking like a decent office over Dante's increasing need of demon skulls and poster girls, before he plucked the laying chair up and setting it back up before resting in it with hands folded in front of him and his brow narrowed with closed eyes. The problem went to what needed to be his trademark as he debated on the weapon types before he stopped and straightened up with rested his hands over the table and it glowed before turning into a rift for him to pull out parts and pieces, things he obtained with finding metals and ores that were on the same level as the Devil Arms, more exactly a metal called Gilgamesh, and started to forge the pieces into a shotgun.
The single barrel extended out with the stock more like a flexible stock before the method of rounds phased into the weapons as well, a revolver action, before he breathed to the finished product, breathing it all in before he started to take it apart with the rift closing, each and every pieces detached and disassembled before him, even showing some hidden pieces of a scythe installed in the weapon before he took another breath... and reassembled it, etching out each and every part to memory, committing every touch to it to be an imprint of himself on the weapon before he flipped over the table in launching the weapon, snatching it before firing at makeshift targets of demons around the shop, a way to hone his aim and train his skill, the shots toning out to himself falling into the groove and slashing and dicing through the target with swift and deadly aim before a click was heard and he moved, steel meeting steel as Alexander's vision cleared to Dante, holding his ground with Rebellion before Alexander spoke with leaping back, the scythe retracting back in and returning the shotgun to its usual form. "I am so sorry, Dante! I didn't mean to attack you like that!"
"Good to know..." Dante chuckled with getting up and checking the blade over before he spoke. "I heard the shots and thought you were fighting something in here..." He looked around to the shattered, slashed, and destroyed targets around them. "Something indeed, but you know..."
"Nothing like live action, I know..." Alexander answered with holstering the shotgun on his back, like a natural movement for him. "I wanted to have a weapon of my own as you have both the Rebellion and the dual pistols of Ebony and Ivory." Dante raised a brow as he asked.
"What about the weapons you conjure up on the fly?"
"They are average in nature, they could easily thwart any number of foes, but they are more for on the fly, I needed a weapon on hand, didn't need me to just conjure up with a clear show, and would fit the motif I have." Dante nodded with a smirk and Alexander breathed. He smiled back as he inquired. "So, would the expert devil hunter show me some tricks?"
"Can do, it's the least I can do for a friend and companion in this business." The both them them headed out ot get Alexander a bit mroe familiar with his new weapon Reaver and to fill Dante's pockets a bit more in the long run...
