10,000 Miles
By Melody Rasnake
Trowa sat looking at the hole in the ground just 4 feet in front him. Duo was standing to his left crying in to Heero's chest. Wufei was standing to his right tears running down his face but he paid them no mind.
Fare the well
My own true love
Fare well for a while
I'm going away
But I'll be back
Though I go 10,000 miles
Trowa watched as each of his friends past by the hole and threw a white rose in to it. His eyes filled with tears and his eyes looked hollow. His arms hung by his side. The rose he had once held now lies on the muddy ground.
10,000 miles
My own true love
10,000 miles or more
The rocks may melt
And the seas may burn
If I should not return
Trowa collapsed as he past the hole. The pain on his face coming out as he screamed and sobbed. Duo rushed to him and wrapped his arms around him holding him close to his chest and letting him cry.
Oh do you see
That lonesome dove
Sitting on an ivy tree
She's weeping for
Her own true love
As I shall weep for mine
Trowa sat alone in his room looking at a picture. Tears streaming down his face. A shadow show in the corner. It to was crying. The shadow moved to stand behind Trowa to get a better look at the picture he held. It was a picture from Quatre and Trowa's wedding day.
Oh come ye back
My own true love
And stay a while with me
If I had a friend
All on this earth
You've been a friend to me
The shadow slowly moved out the window.
"Fare well, my love" it whispered as it faded in to the night and rain.
"Quatre….?" Trowa look to the window at what he thought was a voice but there was nothing there.
The shadow floated over the once hole and slowly it dropped down on to the ground and faded in to the earth. At the head of the once hole set a stone, the inscription read:
