Chapter 1:

"Danny?"

"Yeah, Sam?"

Sam grinned at her husband in the bed next to her, "Danielle was asking if she could have a brother again."

Danny rolled his eyes but grinned at her, "She does know we have very limited control over that right?"

Sam smiled, "I explained it to her when we first adopted her, but I don't think it quite sunk in."

Danny sighed, "I mean, I wouldn't mind having some other kids."

Sam smirked, "Except for the fact that some Fentonworks inventions are still a little too dangerous, even for half-ghosts like us."

Danny nodded, "Yeah... Both Dad and Tucker are still prone to some flops."

Sam rolled her eyes, "That you and your Mom then have to fix while Jazz keeps up one of her telekinetic force-fields around just in case they melt down and end up turning you and your mom into whole ghosts."

Danny shrugged with a grin, "Sometimes even the flops work as good hand grenades against Skulktech."

Sam sighed, "I still can't believe those two teamed up like they did in that alternate timeline."

Danny nodded, "And it is still a yikes like Tucker said when we first saw it."

Sam then grinned, "Speaking of Tucker, his and Valerie's kids should do for now as Danielle's 'cousins' until we actually manage to have some other children."

Danny put his arm around her and pulled her close, "At least it will be easier than adopting her..."

Sam pushed away slightly and gave him a mock serious look, "Maybe legally speaking."

Danny chuckled and pulled her in again, "That is what I was gonna say."

Sam snuggled into him and they lay there like that for a few moments, and then she spoke up, "Do we have to get up?"

Danny nodded, "Yeah... we do..."

They laid there for another couple moments, and Sam said, "At least it is for good reasons today."

Danny grinned down at her, "Are you saying, Mrs. Fenton, that fighting off the Box Ghost isn't a good reason."

Sam tilted her head to look at his face with a mock serious look on hers, "With his combat capabilities, Mr. Fenton?"

Danny chuckled, "I don't know, he is getting better."

Sam rolled her eyes, "I have kicked his, the Lunch Lady's, and their brat's butts back into the Ghost Zone while partially asleep."

Danny smiled, "Well... I don't exactly have access to semi-sentient plants, now do I?"

Sam grinned and pushed off of him as she sat up in their bed, "Nope, and don't you forget it."

Danny playfully groaned, "Awwww, now it is cold."

Sam rolled her eyes and grabbed her purple bathrobe off the post at the end of their bed, "Danny, you don't shiver when we are in the Far Frozen where the temperatures are regularly below zero."

Danny watched his wife get up and put her bathrobe on before asking, "What is it that we need to do today again?"

Sam threw her long black hair out of the back of the robe, "Are you asking cause you genuinely don't know, or cause you want to stay in bed with me all day?"

Danny sighed over-dramatically as he got up and put on his own galaxy themed robe, "...I just want to spend the day loafing about with my beautiful wife. Is that so much to ask?"

Sam rolled her eyes and walked over to the bathroom door in the wall of their slightly messy bedroom, "I thank you for the flattery good sir, but I highly doubt we would be doing much loafing."

Danny teleported over to her and wrapped his arms around her from the back, "You know me so well, it also isn't often that we get a morning like this, in spite of my semi-recently acquired frenemy status with most of the ghostly regulars."

Sam leaned her head back on his broad shoulder, "No, but I think seeing to our daughter's education is a little more important than trying to give her siblings."

Danny sighed, "I know... Is Lancer still there?"

Sam nodded, "I wonder what he thinks of another Fenton coming through his school."

Danny grinned, "Are you kidding, he'll be beside himself with horror."

Sam rolled her eyes, "Right, can you go get Danielle up while I get ready to take her to the school for her tests."

Danny nodded and leaned down to kiss Sam, "Sure... In a moment..."

Sam smiled and sighed, "Danny, as much as I would love to get in touch with your flirtatious side, we don't have the time."

Danny pouted, "Awww..."

Sam snorted, "As cute as that expression is on our daughter, it doesn't quite have the same effect when worn by a certain six-and-a-half foot tall inventor who also needs to meet up with his parents about something in an hour."

Danny sighed, "It always works for my Dad on my Mom."

Sam gave him a pointed look, "They aren't normal and you know it. Now go get Danielle, I would rather she not start her school career with your kind of record."

Danny backed up a little, "Harsh, but I'm going... After this!"

Sam swiped at him after he kissed her neck, but missed cause he went intangible and invisible with a laugh, "Daniel James Fenton! You better be going to get Danielle up and not staying in here."

Danny invisibly grinned at her, "I'm going, I'm going."

Sam rolled her eyes, "I don't know if I could handle anymore little yous running around."

Danny floated through the wall out into the hallway towards Danielle's room, "What are we going to be doing? Cloning me again. Plasmius already proved that was destined to fail."

Sam phased her own head through the wall, "Of course, we just need Tucker to start building the machines in his lair."

Danny smirked back at her, "Build them? As long as they are a part of his realm he can basically just imagine them into existence."

Sam rolled her eyes and stuck her head back into the bathroom, and Danny opened the door to his daughter's room, "Danielle, you awake yet?"

Bright blue eyes that were still weary with sleep poked out of equally blue bedding, "Who would be able to sleep through all that racket you and Mom were making?"

Danny shrugged unapologetically, "It got you awake without me even needing to be here right?"

Danielle grunted as she rolled over to face the purple plushie spider Sam had gotten for her for her first Christmas after they had adopted her, "I hate having super-senses sometimes."

Danny chuckled, "I lived without them for fifteen years of my life, you only went without them for a day thanks to one of your Grandpa's experiments going wrong."

Danielle nodded, "Yeah, but I got to know what it was like to be able to sleep through one of you and Mom's morning fights with Skulker."

Danny nodded, "True." He went over and sat on the edge of her starry bed, "How are you feeling about your placement tests today?"

Danielle sighed, "Why couldn't we have waited until I actually started growing to do them?"

Danny shook his head, "Not an option anymore, you still have three years until your soul catches up to your body and you start growing like other kids, Danielle. As it is we have had to fudge some stuff legally to be able to keep you out of school this long."

Danielle grinned, "You put Grampy F's fudge on some paper!"

Danny rolled his eyes, "Smart-alec. Even though you are small for your physical age some folks have noticed your unusual maturity for a supposed nine-year old."

Danielle shrugged as she sat up, revealing a set of Danny's old NASA pjs, "Not like I can help that, Dad."

Danny gave her a stern look, "Danielle..."

She hid a little under the covers, "Sorry, Dad."

Danny put a hand on her shoulder, "I am not one of our enemies and this is not a fight; the sarcasm, though perfectly understandable, is not appreciated. I am just trying to protect you and explain the situation to you."

She hid a little more, "Sorry..."

Danny sighed and pulled her to his side in a hug out from under the covers, "I am also not the Fruitloop who will punish you extremely for the smallest of reasons. I love you, Danielle. Your mom does too, which is why we are both trying to teach you to be better than us. I know these exact circumstances aren't what any of us would have wished for, but they are what we have been given, and your mom and I are doing our best to raise you as our own as if you had been born to us the normal way. Please just listen to us and try not to terrorize Mr. Lancer too much today."

Danielle hugged him back, "I won't, Dad, but speaking of being born..."

Danny rolled his eyes, "Do your mom and I need to give you a refresher talk?"

Danielle shook her head, "Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope!"

Danny grinned at her, "That is what I thought. It will happen when it is supposed to happen, don't try and push us cause there is nothing we can do about it unless you want us to act like a certain Fruitloop and get them illegally."

Danielle shrugged with a grin, "Well, that is how you got me."

Danny rolled his eyes, "As I told your mother, your Uncle Tuck's kids will have to do for now."

Danielle sighed, "Yeah, but honorary cousins aren't the same thing as little siblings."

Danny chuckled, "No they aren't, but trust me that once you actually had them you would quickly end up annoyed by them. From what your grandma said, they would be twenty times worse than that baby doll of yours and you wouldn't be able to turn them off."

Danielle gave him a sassy, disbelieving look, "I somehow doubt that."

Danny shrugged, "Believe what you will, but I do hope to prove you wrong some day."

Danielle pouted, "I hope you don't."

Danny grinned, "Ah-hah! So you don't want little siblings then."

Danielle's eyes turned green as she glared at her father and floated into the air a little bit, "DAD! That isn't what I said!"

Danny grinned, "I know."

Danielle started pouting a little bit, "So not fair."

Danny shrugged, "You should know by now that you can't win in a war of words with me."

Danielle sighed, "I know."

Danny chuckled, "Go get ready for the day, Danielle."

Danielle phased out of her sheets and flew over to the wall which had her bathroom on the other side of it. She grinned back at her dad and flew through the wall in such a way so that her clothes bunched up against the wall while she was going through it and fell down after she was through. Danny rolled his eyes at that and got up off of her bed and walked through the open doorway. He then walked downstairs to begin making breakfast. It wasn't long before he felt his wife behind him hanging onto his back.

She smiled at him when he turned around, "How did getting Danielle up go, and what is on the menu today?"

Danny chuckled, "Once she was finally up she decided to be a showoff and flew through the wall, leaving behind her clothes in a heap on the floor."

Sam shrugged, "She is proud of how good she is at using her powers."

Danny sighed, "I know, but I can just imagine her doing that one of these times when Mom or Dad are over. I can just imagine their reaction to a certain naked little ghost popping out of the wall in front of them."

Sam chuckled, "What? Do you fear a repeat of what happened the first time they saw her in ghost form back in our highschool days?"

Danny nodded, "Them and surprises don't exactly mix well together."

Sam sighed as well, "They do tend to go a little overboard, but I think they have calmed down a little."

Danny pointed at his own hair, "When we surprised them for my Dad's 50th birthday I ended up with a ton of ecto-slime in my hair. It took a week to get it all out and in my ghost form it made my hair green and act like fire for as long as it was in there."

Sam grinned, "Skulker and all your fans thought it looked cool."

Danny rolled his eyes, "Like I would want to look cool for either him or my fans."

Sam slyly grinned at him, "Am I not included among your fans?"

Danny shook his head, "Nope, you are my wife. That means you are family, not a fan."

Danielle poked her wet head down through the ceiling, "What about Uncle Tuck?"

Danny rolled his eyes and moved the pan away from where she almost dripped on it, "He also counts as family, now get your head back in the shower and away from the food."

Sam chuckled as her daughter's head popped back through the ceiling, "So, about that food?"

Danny grinned, "My specialty omelet."

Sam gasped in mock horror, "What, no Phantom Toast."

Danny shuddered, "That contraption my Dad made that cooks my symbol into food is a travesty against all toast, even if I did like the stuff."

Sam grinned, "Danielle inherited your dislike for it as well, and I thought it was sweet how thoughtful your Dad was being with that gift."

Danny rolled his eyes, "That ended up being bought, patented, and turned into a marketing tool by the Amity Park based Ghostly Paraphernalia Corporation that my parents consult for."

Sam chuckled, "Yeah, but you still own the prototype."

Danny sighed, "Doesn't mean I am going to use it."

Sam chuckled, "Well… looks like your omelet is done, and you got to go meet your parents soon, so you should probably eat your portion and not wait for little miss thirty-minute-showers to get done."

Danny shrugged, "Maybe I could send a duplicate with you guys to watch over you?"

Sam rolled her eyes, "Danny, no. Go have fun with your parents, whatever it is they are going to drag you off to do, and don't worry about us. Me and Danielle are more than capable of taking care of ourselves, even if the likes of Skulk-Tech show up."

Danny nodded, "I know, but I am allowed to worry though right?"

Sam rolled her eyes, "And people think I am the mother hen in the family. Just eat and get going."

Danny held up his hands, "Alright, I am going, but…"

Sam rolled her eyes again, "If any trouble happens we will call you for help."

Danny grinned sheepishly at her, "I love you."

Sam sighed with a grin, "I love you as well, now eat."

Danny cut the omlet into pieces and slid some onto a plate, "All right, all right, I am going."

Sam shook her head with a silent laugh and thought, Nothing is going to happen, Danny. You need to have a little faith sometimes in us, after all we are half-ghosts now as well. Then again, I guess you wouldn't be the man I married if you didn't.
