Metropolis

Kon and Mon packed what few things they had from Kara's old apartment into boxes and placed them in the car. "This place gives me so many memories...of home invasion," Kara said of the apartment.

"We made love for the first time in this bed," Mon recalled.

"Really?" Mara shook her head dismayed.

"In Insane culture, men and women would both discuss their sex lives to the entire clan with overly exaggerated tales," Mon said to her.

"Why are we driving all the way to Smallville when we can fly?" Kon asked.

"A just question," Mon agreed.

"So, we can interact more with each other as a family," Kara told them.

"Kon's just going to play games on his phone the whole time," Mara pointed out.

"No, he's not. We're going to see the scenery, listen to the radio, feel the wind in her faces, and enjoy the rich smell of farm life," Kara told them.

"Who's driving?" Mon asked.

"Well, I'm not driving," Kara scoffed.

"If I drive, someone will definitely be killed," Mon assured her.

"You know what? Fuck it. Mon, do your thing," Kara said pissed off.

Mon instantly teleported them all with their stuff to the Smallville house.

Smallville

Upon arriving at the house, there was more family bickering. "Why are we even here, again?" Kon asked.

"Because the studio blew its budget in the first episode," Kara mocked. She then noticed Mon flying to the roof to fix something. "No flying outside," she yelled at him. "This is going to end before it begins," she clutched her hair.

Kara and Mon met up at the barn. "Clark made so many memories in this barn," Kara said reflectively.

"I put a mattress in the basement," Mon said helpfully.

Kara couldn't help but smile. "So...thoughtful of you."

That night, the four of them ate Chinese food for dinner. "I forgot my softball," Mara realized.

"Mon, go get it," Kara ordered.

"The fuck I will. I'm not some delivery man," Mon refused.

"It's fine," Mara said attempting to calm things down.

"They're putting me in French instead of Spanish. French is so gay," Kon said immaturely.

"I haven't even looked at my schedule," Mara admitted.

"We have some concerns about you going to school. You see, we're here to bond as a family and train your powers," Kara said.

"What more training do I need?" Kon scoffed.

"You need to learn to lower your power level so you don't kill someone when you brush past them. These are fragile-as-fuck humans you will be dealing with," Kara said. "Also, you nearly killed a bunch of kids with a sudden release of energy."

"I don't know how it happened. I must have been really excited," Kon smirked.

"That sounds like bullshit," Kara disagreed.

"So, I'm not going to school...because I nearly killed some kids," Kon realized.

"I feel you're rewarding inappropriate behavior," Mara remarked.

"You know, I thought coming to this time, we could start over. But I guess I'm just a freak that can't be controlled like always," Kon said with false outrage.

"Kon, do you feel you're being treated unfairly?" Kara asked as Kon took off.

He turned around genuinely spooked. "No," he said softly.

"Sit down," Kara ordered.

Mara noticed Elisa calling her back from Metropolis. "Elisa is calling me. May I be excused?" she asked.

"You may," Kara allowed.

As Mara left, Kara and Mon wondered what kind of friendship Mara really had. "I told Kon I would be there for him, but I don't know what he really needs, right now," Mon admitted.

"Yeah, still here," Kon said annoyed.

"He just needs his dad," Kara said.

"Still here," Kon said feeling ignored.

"That Stranger-guy really got to you, didn't he?" Kara asked.

"It's rare for me to let an opponent live," Mon mused.

"Well, General Lane will give us a heads-up, and then you can kill him for good," Kara said brightly. "In the meantime, let's do what we came here to do."

Moldova

Supergirl landed in an old weapon's storage facility and noticed several men dead on the floor. She scanned them with her X-ray vision and saw concussive damage to their internal organs. Looking around, she saw a large number of bullet casings on the floor. She examined a vault and found more weapon containers. Upon hearing a noise, Karina turned around and noticed a survivor.

"What happened here?" Karina asked in Russian.

"A man in a black suit attacked us. He was looking for Kryptonite but there is none here," he said and then died in front of her.

"I will avenge you, comrade," Karina embraced the man.

Smallville

Mara went to school while Kon stayed behind. "If anyone asks, Kon is sick," Kara said to her.

"Destroying my reputation already," Kon said peeved.

Mara and Kara left leaving Mon and Kon behind. Mon suddenly teleported himself and Kon to the Arctic. "Why does Kon get to go to the Fortress and I have to go to school?" Mara asked enviously.

"He doesn't get to go, he has to go," Kara corrected.

At Smallville High, Mara scanned the building with her X-ray vision. Suddenly, Sarah interrupted her. "You lost?" she asked.

"Quite the opposite, actually," Mara replied coldly.

"Is Kon not coming today?" Sarah asked hopefully.

"He's sick," Mara said vaguely.

"That's weird. He didn't seem sick the other day," Sarah doubted.

"Well, he's sick in the head is what I mean. You should probably stay clear of him," Mara suggested.

Mara and Sarah bumped into a crew of bullies. "So, you're the new softball pitcher. You know what they say about softball girls," the leader joked.

"I do," Mara nodded.

"So, yeah...," the leader said awkwardly.

"Is that all?" Mara asked.

"We'll be staring at you at your games," the leader said as he took his crew and Sarah away.

Kara was minding her own business in a diner when she noticed someone watching her. She ignored her and continued her research on Morgan Edge. Kara had a mixed history with Edge. In one timeline, Mara was Edge's apprentice and inherited his estate after he died. In another timeline, she killed his ass. Now, she was uncertain what to do with him.

"Hey, Kara. How is everyone doing?" Lana broke up Kara's thoughts. Kyle was also with her in his firefighter uniform.

"They're adjusting," Kara lied.

"Well, if you need anything, just call," Lana offered. "You know, you all should come for a barbeque, tomorrow."

"Yeah...great," Kara said uncertainly.

"You writing more about Morgan Edge? He's bringing jobs to Smallville so that's good enough for me," Kyle said with hostility.

"He's not that awesome," Kara bristled.

The mayor happened to walk by. "Mr. Mayor," Kyle addressed.

"You ready for tonight?" the mayor asked.

"It's going to be big," Kyle said excitedly. "Excuse me," he said to Kara.

"There's a big city council meeting tonight," Lana explained. "So, tomorrow?"

"We'll bring booze," Kara said lazily.

Fortress of Solitude

Mon took Kon deep inside the cave inside the fortress. "When my mother died, I felt lost. I had a lot of questions about myself that needed to be answered. How could I be stronger? How could I defeat your mother? I found some of my answers here," Mon said.

Mon activated the computer using Kara's password and showed a hologram of the Insane homeworld, Mon. The hologram showed how planet Mon had been destroyed by Darkseid with an armada of ships surviving to different areas of the galaxy. "So, there could still be survivors?" Kon considered.

"In the 31st century, there was no indication there were any survivors. But, they may still be alive in this time. We must find them and ensure their descendants survive. Then, the Insane empire will rise again," Mon said. He then activated a hologram of Queen Rhea.

"This is your grandmother, Rhea," Mon pointed to her hologram.

"This is your hybrid son?" she asked with a sneer. "Why do you show him to me?"

"Kon-El has achieved the legend, the Super Insane, as a child," Mon told her.

"It would seem we may be able to further our Insane heritage after all," Rhea smiled. "You, Kon, will be the one to do it."

Kon merely smirked.

Smallville

That afternoon, Mara threw a perfect pitch through a tire. She then noticed Mon and Kon instantly arrive. "You were gone long," she noted.

"I saw some really cool shit about our heritage. I'm the chosen one," Kon said enthusiastically.

"Chosen to do what?" Mara wondered.

"To restart the Insane race and conquer the galaxy," Kon said wide-eyed.

"So...it was good not having you around at school. You should not go...ever," Mara said.

A giddy Mon went up to Kara. "What are you so damn happy about?" Kara asked suspiciously.

"The heritage of the Insane shall persevere," Mon said boldly.

"That's not a good thing. You are a race of savage killers. I should personally thank Darkseid for putting you guys down," Kara told him.

"There's nothing you can say that will diminish this glorious occasion," Mon said brightly.

"We're going to a city council meeting tonight," Kara told him.

"Faaawwwk," Mon said looking up at the sky.

"We'll just come by to listen for a little while and then leave. I just want to know what Edge is up to," Kara said.

"I don't give a shit about Edge, this town, or even this planet," Mon reminded her.

"General Lane is on his way. Play your part well and maybe he'll give you something to kill," Kara told him.

Mon had a chat with Gen. Lane inside the house. "Sources from PATRIOT tell us that our armored friend hit a weapon's depot in Moldova. He didn't take anything though. He just blew the place up before he left. Did he say anything to you?" Gen. Lane asked.

"He claims to know me...intimately," Mon recalled.

"Looks like he came in a ship. If he goes airborne again, we got him," Gen. Lane said.

"So, looks like you have this handled," Mon said disappointedly.

"PATRIOT is going to want to take this guy out first. That ship has some valuable intel. We also captured this," Gen. Lane said showing a picture of Supergirl arriving and leaving. "We're thinking Supergirl plays for both sides."

"That makes my American blood boil," Mon said seriously.

"We have to get to that ship first before Supergirl hands it over to the Russians," Gen. Lane said super-serious.

The two went outside and marveled at the stars. "You still looking for the simple life? Those days are long gone," Gen. Lane said.

"Before or after you nearly killed the planet by hiding away Fort Rozz?" Mon mocked.

"I've made mistakes. So have you. But here we are, trying to make the world safer and better for our children to live in," Gen. Lane said sincerely. "Why did you move out here with your cousin?"

"Honestly, Kara's kids are mine. It was way before I married Lois. I fucked up. I shouldn't have done it," Mon admitted.

"Damn it, Clark. Having sex with your cousin is one thing, having kids with one is another. Those kids might have powers now. Do they know who you are?" Gen. Lane asked.

"Yeah," Mon nodded.

"You just ruined their childhood," Gen. Lane accused.

"I don't give a shit," Mon replied.

"Does Lois know?" Gen. Lane asked.

"Yes...and she's okay with it," Mon lied.

Gen. Lane got a phone call. "He's in Mongolia now. What the fuck is he doing there?"

Mon suddenly flew towards Mongolia ready to kick ass.

Kara brought Kon and Mara to the city council meeting to keep an eye on them. "Hey, you're too sick to go to school but you can come to a council meeting?" Sarah questioned.

"My insanity comes and goes," Kon explained.

"Tell me more," Sarah requested as she seductively sucked on her lollipop.

In the hall, Kara eyed the same woman that had been following her. She went straight to her. "So...can I help you?" Kara asked her.

"Wow, you're Kara Danvers. I'm Chrissy Beppo. I've been wanting to introduce myself these last few days but I totally chickened out," she admitted.

"You're a journalist," Kara noted her notepad and tape recorder.

"I work for the Smallville Gazette. Usually, there's nothing to really report on. Nothing compared to what you've reported on. You're my idol," Chrissy said adoringly.

"Tell me more," Kara said self-absorbed.

"Let's get this going," Kyle interrupted. "Welcome, my friend, Mayor George Dean."

"Now, the state's lockdown due to Covid has taken our jobs," Mayor Dean began.

"They took our jobs," Kyle seconded.

"They took our jobs!" a member of the audience shouted. Several others declared the same. "They took my job," one complained. "They took your job," another said sympathetically. Soon, the whole hall was shouting.

Kara sighed and shook her head. "Now, I present to you Morgan Edge. He's going to bring the jobs back," Mayor Dean said.

Morgan Edge made a boring-ass speech about his proposal. "So...if there are no other questions," Mayor Dean said.

"I have some questions," Kara said standing up.

"Shit," Morgan realized.

"So...your job count is just an estimate, right?" Kara asked.

"That's right. One cannot guarantee it," Morgan replied reasonably.

"Yeah, like New Carthage where the job total ended up 50% less than the estimate and paying below a living wage," Kara accused.

"Ms. Danvers, I thought those mines would be fruitful. I was wrong but what I did was take a risk on them when no one else would and that's exactly what I've come to offer everyone here. A chance to save this town and improve its resident's lives," Morgan said passionately.

"But, perhaps you're right, Ms. Danvers. Perhaps I shouldn't take a risk on Smallville. I certainly don't want to bring any harm to this community. Maybe that's something we should discuss further," Morgan threatened.

"Superb guilt trip, Mr. Edge," Kara mock applauded and then sat down.

Chrissy smiled at Kara. "Wow, it's true what they say about you. You don't report the news as much as you make the news."

"You have no idea," Kara smirked.

Mongolia

In Mongolia, Mon instantly appeared in front of Luthor while he wore his black armor. "Stop," Mon ordered him.

"You tracked my ship," Luthor realized.

"No shit. What do you want?" Mon asked curiously.

"You...gone," Luthor said vaguely.

"How come?" Mon asked. "What did I ever do to you?"

"Not just me. You destroyed my whole planet," Luthor raged.

"That does sound like me," Mon considered.

Luthor rushed Mon with his rocket engines and took him into the forest. The two punched at each other while hitting random trees. Mon finally punched Luthor into the air as he settled on the ground. Mon took to the sky, punched Luthor to the back, and then punched him hard to the ground. Mon instantly appeared near to Luthor and punched him repeatedly to his helmet. As Luthor struggled, he activated his wristband.

"My ship will target this country's capital. Either them or me, Kal-El," Luthor said as his ship took off.

"Well played, asshole," Mon said impressed. He took hold of his head and twisted it off revealing a drone.

Ulaanbaatar was under attack as Luthor's ship was set to ram it. Supergirl flew straight for its nose and effortlessly stopped its descent. She then pushed the ship into space where it self-destructed in a nuclear explosion. Karina emerged from the blast unaffected and shot back towards Mongolia landing near Luthor's drone. She eyed the drone and then back at Mon scanning him with her X-ray vision.

"You take no prisoners and you do not let civilian considerations interfere with your mission. You truly are the Prince of all Insane," Karina remarked.

"The ship destroyed?" Mon figured.

"It emitted red solar energy as if that would affect me. He must be from a universe where that makes sense," Karina rolled her eyes.

"He said I destroyed his world," Mon said.

"Does he know you're not Kal-El?" Karina asked confused.

"Nope," Mon smirked.

"This Stranger has attacked two states within my sphere of influence. I will honor our agreement to not interfere in Kara's affairs but this cannot continue," Karina warned.

"He's looking for Kryptonite. I have an idea where he will strike next. When he takes the bait, I will kill him," Mon assured her.

Smallville

After school, Mara loaded up her pitch and then fired. The ball knocked the catcher over stunning her. The other girls and the coach gawked at her. "Sorry," she said awkwardly.

Meanwhile, Kara and Mon had a chat over the Stranger. "He knows about Kryptonite, red solar radiation, and that Kal-El destroyed his world. He must be from a universe where Superman is the bad guy," Mon theorized.

"Why would he blame you for something another Superman has done? That's like blaming me for everything Overgirl did," Kara said.

"Perhaps, he thinks it's too much of a risk for Kal-El to live knowing what he is capable of," Mon considered.

"Well, I'm damn insulted he didn't go after me," Kara said self-absorbed.

"Well, this is perfect. For a moment there, I thought this time would be boring-as-fuck. Now, I have someone I can use as a punching bag," Mon grinned. "FYI, General Lane knows the kids are mine."

"But he still thinks you're Superman," Kara said confused.

"That's true," Mon nodded.

Kara took a split second for her to compute that. "You bastard. How could you?" Kara asked angrily.

"He doesn't think it was a good idea," Mon considered.

"Well, fuck that guy. You weren't there for all the times he's slightly inconvenienced me," Kara said bitterly.

"What's that?" Mon asked curiously about her laptop.

"I'm writing this story about Morgan Edge. Hopefully, it will tank his stock, make it easier for Wayne Industries to sack him...," Kara said.

"Already bored," Mon said dismissively.

"He was at the city council meeting talking all sorts of bullshit about how he's going to save the town. He's here for cheap labor because people are desperate," Kara said passionately.

"You're just mad because you want the town to yourself," Mon sensed. "You are aware that Edge owns the Daily Planet. Are you trying to get fired?"

"If I quit, I can't sue or apply for unemployment insurance," Kara said obviously.

"He's not going to let you publish this," Mon said.

"Which is why I'm going to pass it on to the newspapers I do own under Wayne Enterprises using a pseudo name," Kara said.

"That sounds very unethical," Mon remarked.

"I'm not going to let Morgan Edge take over this town. I will buy up the banks. I will buy the politicians. I will foreclose on everyone that is delinquent. I will cut off their power and water," Kara said darkly.

"Kara, I love you, but you're being a crazy bitch," Mon told her.

Kon was as joyful as he could be. "I'm going back to the fortress to run some tests. Can you imagine if I ascend to the next Super Insane level?" Kon asked Mara.

"Not really," Mara said subdued.

"What's wrong?" Kon asked.

"I nearly sent a girl to the hospital because I was too strong. There's more to life than just power," Mara said to him.

"Alright," Kon said taking her seriously.

"Ready?" Mon asked Kon.

"Yeah," Kon said turning away from Mara.

Mon and Kon then instantly disappeared.

Kara sensed Mara's unease. "It was Kon's idea to go back in time, wasn't it?" she asked.

"Yeah," Mara nodded.

"I know what it means for you to live in this ancient time. You're used to flying cars, fusion energy, holograms everywhere, spaceships, lightsabers, food replicators, uniforms, and a Christian theocracy. You're a good sister. You're all the good in me and none of the bad," Kara said sincerely.

"I guess we both have lost our worlds," Mara shrugged and went upstairs.

Fortress of Solitude

In the fortress, Kon was tested by the system. Rhea appeared to Mon in a hologram. "His power-level is insignificant. His cells are only able to absorb so much radiation," Rhea said.

"He has reached Super Insane as a boy," Mon countered.

"And he has plateaued. He will never come close to your power-level, not even one hundredth," Rhea said.

"Test him again," Mon insisted.

"There's no point. My son, you have reached the true legend of the Insane, the form you call Super Insane 4. Everything below that level is mere imitation. You are the protege I could never be. Only a pure-blood Insane can reach your level and beyond. His Kryptonian DNA is limiting. I know you wish for this, but he will never be like you, Mon-El," Rhea said.

Mon then realized Kon had overheard their conversation. "Well...shit," Mon winced.

Smallville

Mon waited patiently as Kon had a fit inside the house. "So, I'm not special. What the fuck?" he raged.

"You may not be able to reach Super Insane 4 like me, but you can compensate by exposing yourself to solar radiation," Mon told him. "You will progress over time."

"Is Kon having one of his episodes?" Mara asked coming downstairs.

"Fuck you," Kon spat.

"I'm sick of your nonsense, Kon. I'm sick of always holding it in every day ready to explode on this world with fury. The same Insane blood that flows through your veins is in me as well. Yet, you don't see me always complaining and lashing out," Mara said to him. "Because you kissed Sarah, I have all the school bullies out to get me. I have to bury my feelings and not destroy them on the spot."

"You know, Mara, you're right. Let's go outside and blow shit up, let off some steam," Mon suggested.

"No, fuck no," Kara disagreed. "All your lives, you've been cuddled and controlled by the systems I created for you. But now you're nearly adults. You need to take control of your emotions. Smallville is a test for you both. It's one thing if this town becomes a crater, it's another if Metropolis is. How can I entrust the Galactic Federation I have created to the two of you if you can't even survive Earth high school in the 21st century?"

"Now, we're going to this barbeque and you're going to be little angels. Get dressed in five minutes," Kara ordered.

"Yeah, like she said," Mon seconded.

At the barbeque, Kara and Mon brought over some booze. "Sorry, we're late," Kara apologized.

"Don't be. I wish I had you over sooner," Lana said already tipsy from her wine. "Make yourselves at home."

Kara eyed the crowd in the backyard with apprehension. "Play with the kids and behave," she ordered Kon and Mara.

Kon and Mara strolled into the living room where some kids were playing video games. Sarah was getting her toes done. "I heard you nearly destroyed our catcher," Sarah said amused.

"Word travels fast in this town," Mara mused.

"You going to school anytime soon?" Sarah asked Kon.

"If my parents let me," Kon said vaguely.

"Why wouldn't they let you?" Sarah asked confused.

"I'm not really mentally stable," Kon replied.

Sarah gave him a WTF look wondering if he was going to be the next school shooter.

Outside, Kara waited in line for a burger patty. "You've come to the wrong place if you want a tofu burger," Kyle said snidely.

"I'm as much a carnivore as you," Kara told him off.

"You know, I looked into New Carthage. It was a bad deal. They wanted to unionize right off the bat. That would have made it impossible for Edge to make a profit. He would have lost a third of his workforce," Kyle said. "I mean, some money in your pocket is better than none."

"When I look at Morgan Edge, I see greed, incompetence, and a lack of imagination. I know I could do better than him when it comes to this town. I can run the numbers better than he can. And I don't give a shit about my own personal wealth or financial security. I could lose everything and still come back on top within the end of the year," Kara said.

"Yeah, I heard you're really Kara Wayne, the wife of the billionaire. So, this is just some pissing contest between you two. That's not what Smallville needs. We can't have two billionaires carving this town up. As soon as you kick Edge out of Smallville, you'll forget about us," Kyle said.

Kara gave him a dumbfounded look knowing he was right and then looked at her phone. "That son-of-a-bitch changed my story."

Fort Riley, Kansas

Army soldiers came out to confront Luthor in his black armor. They immediately opened fire on him. The bullets bounced off his armor harmlessly. Luthor fired a shockwave burst at the soldiers knocking them to the ground a distance away. Luthor disabled the power as the command center was evacuated. "Get the power back on," Gen. Lane barked to his remaining staff.

Luthor burst through the wall and grabbed Gen. Lane. "You have to stop protecting him."

"Superman?" Gen. Lane wondered.

"Stop calling him that. He's not one of us. Where I come from, you're like me. You don't trust him because you know what he's capable of. You have to help me save your planet from him," Luthor said to him while giving him some dog tags.

"Look, Batman had the same idea and it didn't end well. So, let's all sit down and talk this out," Gen. Lane suggested.

Superman suddenly burst in and took Luthor out of the building. Mon punched Luthor high in the sky and then punched him repeatedly in midair. Finally, Mon slammed Luthor down to the ground like a boss making a crater. Mon took off his helmet revealing it to be another drone. Gen. Lane then came out and saw Superman with the drone's head. "Holy fuck."

"It's just a drone. That makes it okay," Mon assured him.

Smallville

Kara sat on the porch drinking wine. Mon dropped in and sat down. There was a long awkward pause between them. "So, did you kill him for good, this time?" Kara asked impatiently.

"It was another drone," Mon sighed.

"You know, if I hadn't made you become Superman, this guy would probably have passed on to some other universe that has a Superman on Earth. It's got me thinking about things, right-and-wrong, narcissism, and selflessness," Kara said thoughtfully.

Mon gave her a blank look. "So...what the fuck are we talking about?"

"For me, it's never enough. I want to be the most powerful fighter in the universe. I want to be the richest woman on Earth. I want to control a galactic federation. I come here and my first immediate reaction is to own this town," Kara said distressed.

"You want me to kill Edge? I'll do it, no questions asked," Mon offered.

"I want to beat him, but I also need him around. It's like a punching bag. You want to punch it all the time but if you punch too hard, it will rip open. It's how I've treated everyone in my life. Just low enough to keep the bag from ripping open," Kara said.

"Kara, you're fucked up. But that's what family is for, to put a check on each other. I feel closer to you and the kids than ever before. We'll get through this together," Mon said sincerely.

Kon entered Mara's room as she was on the phone with Elisa. Mara quickly ended her call with Elisa and turned to Kon. "What is it?" she asked.

"I know you're here because of me. I want to thank you for that," Kon said awkwardly.

"So, what did the tests say?" Mara asked.

"That I'll never be like dad. A hybrid can never achieve Super Insane 4," Kon brooded.

"You're half-Kryptonian. We both are. We have the potential to be as powerful as mother. But it's not how big your power-level is but how effective you are at using it. Barney is just a droid but he commands solar systems like pieces on a chessboard. You may never be able to overthrown father alone but together we can. We are twins. We rise and fall together," Mara told him.

The next morning, Mon had a chat with Kon and Mara. "Take a seat," he ordered.

The two reluctantly complied. "Sorry I was gone last night. I had to take care of some bullshit that these weak-ass humans can't deal with, themselves," Mon said going off-script.

The two merely stared at him. "I know I haven't been around a lot. I've been with the Vindicators killing a lot of mother-fuckers that needed to die all across the galaxy. I want you to know that you're more important than this planet, this galaxy, the future, all of that. You are my heirs and my legacy. So, don't think for a moment I cherish this planet over you. The reason I leave is because I need some 'me' time for myself. You know that I always place myself as priority number one," Mon told them.

"We know, father," Mara said gently.

"Kon, you're going to school," Mon ordered.

"Damn...it," Kon hissed.

"I'll be keeping an eye on you both. Don't ruin this scheme we got going," Mon said.

"Where's mom?" Mara asked curiously.

"She had a thing," Mon said vaguely.

Metropolis

Kara entered the Daily Planet and walked into Cat's office. "You corrected my story," Kara accused.

"It read like an editorial. Distorting facts is my job," Cat told her.

"I need you to fire me," Kara said.

"Denied," Cat said quickly. "This grudge you have with Edge isn't healthy. You're going to destroy two companies, two cities, and a town."

"I have to be with my family in Smallville," Kara said dramatically.

"Work from home, fly in occasionally," Cat said.

"I can't keep doing this job. The worse I do, the more I get rewarded for it. I mean, I made half that shit up when I won that Pulitzer," Kara said honestly.

"Kara, you've never had to face real consequences for your actions. I'm not going to fire you. You're going to quit and be ineligible for all the petty benefits you shouldn't be getting anyway. It's time for you to grow up," Cat said gently.

"Okay...I quit," Kara said finally.

"Now, tonight, we get drunk as fuck. What do you say?" Cat smiled.

"Yeah, I'd like that," Kara nodded.

Smallville

The next day, Kara entered the Smallville Gazatte totally hungover. "Can I help you?" Chrissy asked.

"Did you read that shit article I wrote? I mean, damn," Kara said incoherently.

"It didn't read like you," Chrissy nodded.

"So...what do you do here?" Kara wondered.

"Well, I'm a reporter, editor, janitor, whatever this place needs," Chrissy said awkwardly.

"Yeah, I'm buying this place. We're going to be publishing whatever the fuck I want. I'm going to be talking mad shit about Edge every day until I win and I will win," Kara told her.

"Well, okay then," Chrissy squeaked.

Earth-23

Resistance fighters fought in the trenches in the dark as the enemy blasted them with laser fire. Captain Luthor and General Lane were on the frontlines. It was raining and completely miserable for all involved. Both sides were experiencing heavy fire. Suddenly, Superman arrived on the scene. He wore the traditional blue and red suit. His name was Kalel. He was black, lean, and looked to be in this thirties. His appearance was suspiciously similar to Michael B. Jordan.

"Let me be clear, don't get it twisted, you're all fucked," Kalel said to them as he fired heat vision on the trenches.

All the resistance soldiers were incinerated quickly. Their return fire had no effect on Kalel. Only Luthor survived the assault. He came over to Gen. Lane who had been cut in half. "To hell and back," Gen. Lane said to him before he passed.

Author's Notes: In DragonBall GT, there was this BS explanation that only pure-blooded Saiyans can reach Super Saiyan 4. That is being incorporated here for the plot of this episode. The new Superman reboot movie will have Michael B. Jordan in the role and Henry Cavill is out. The last bit here has my feeling on that decision. This season is basically Batman V Superman but dragged out a lot longer. The politics of this episode were somewhat balanced. Kara's motivation is going to be a bit different from that of Lois.
