Carolyn Barek rolled her eyes at Mike Logan as he leaned back in his chair and put his feet up on his desk. He was feeling pretty smug about the case they'd just closed. Apparently, you bring down a man who liked to strangle his lovers meant you got to skimp on paper work. It also meant he got to look adorably smug. She'll get him back later tonight after he left. A magical fairy would leave a stack of work on his desk. She wouldn't even mention it to him when they were snuggled on her couch together. It was evil, but when he looked like he owned the world he could only expect some sort of retaliation.

"Carrie!" And all pleasant thoughts of Mike and an evening on the couch went out of her mind and panic choked her. "Carrie baby!" Carolyn looked up and felt all the heat drained out of her. Standing in the doorway of the Major Case Squad was Tommy Spitzer, in the flesh. He strode across the squad and dragged Carolyn out of her chair to hug her. "Fucking Jesus, it's so good to see you Carrie baby."

"Tommy, what, what are you doing here?" She managed, taking a step back and staring up at him.

"Hey! I was in town and thought I'd stop by to see my favorite girl," Tommy said and laughed. "We need to have dinner, Carrie, let's go."

"Tommy I can't I have work." She gestured to all the files on her desk.

"Oh, come on, Carrie baby, that stuff can wait. Let's go eat, I'm starving!" Tommy tried to grab her arm, but Mike's hand shot out of no where and grabbed Tommy's wrist.

"She's busy, buddy," Mike said brightly, but Carolyn noticed how tight he was holding Tommy's wrist. She can also see that Tommy doesn't like it. She was going to have to think fast if she was going to stop this.
