Gorilla City

In the dense jungles of Africa, Gorilla City was hidden from view with a sophistical cloaking device. It had existed for some time while apes on the outside remained dumb and endangered. Indeed, the apes in the wild were merely the offspring of exiled criminals like Australians. Human captives were paraded through the city in transport vehicles as apes jeered. Finally, the vehicles came to a stop. An inspector came out to look over the captives.

"These are the skankiest, scabbiest, scuzziest humans I have ever seen," the inspector said unimpressed. "Alright, get them out," he ordered his apes.

The men and women that had been lured to Gorrila City under false pretexes were dragged out of the transport vehicles, stripped, and sent to the showers. They were then placed in cells naked. Grodd and Solovar, now in their Gorilla forms, came by to inspect them. The humans were in the process of turning into apes with higher than average body hair, increased muscle mass, and ape-like features on their faces. Grodd noticed his prize was not among the prisoners.

"Where is the female: Alex Danvers?" Grodd demanded of his soldiers.

Metropolis

Alex admired her increased muscle mass in the shower but was disturbed by the dramatic increase in body hair. She was about to shave it off when she stopped herself. "Wait a minute, I'm a feminist. Fuck that," she concluded.

She exited the shower delighted and proud of her hairy armpits, arms, legs, chest, back, and belly. She decided to cover up with pants and a heavy coat and went out on the town. She visited the normal bars looking to get a man for the evening. As per usual, she was able to drink as well as any man in the bar. She impulsively challenged one strong-looking man to an arm-wrestling contest and easily defeated him. Just as Alex felt the need to mate with one of the males, she started to back off. Compared to her, these men were weak, fragile, civilized. They didn't have that animal nature she craved at that moment. Alex's thoughts scattered as Kelly got in her face.

"Something is very wrong with you, Alex. You need to get checked out," Kelly told her.

"For the first time in my life, I'm what I'm supposed to be. I'm strong, straight, and ready to be a mother," Alex said confidently.

"Can't you see that your mind and body are transforming into who knows what?" Kelly asked her.

"I'm becoming better," Alex insisted.

"It breaks my heart to see you like this, Alex. As a shrink, I'm telling you that this sudden personality change is not healthy. I worry about you," Kelly said sincerely.

"Well, you don't need to worry any longer. We're through. Don't ever come to see me again," Alex said angrily and walked out leaving Kelly dumbfounded.

Supergirl was in the middle of a video shoot for a pro-Trump campaign commercial with Mera when Kelly arrived on set. "Kara, I need to talk to you," Kelly said to her in-between takes.

Kara dismissed Mera away and went over to her. "What is it?" she asked impatiently.

"It's Alex. She's acting weird in my professional opinion," Kelly said.

"Yeah, she's straight now," Kara noted. "So what's the problem?"

"It's more than that. She's more aggressive, mean, and less human," Kelly said.

"You're just unhappy you lost," Kara smirked.

"This is a loss for everyone," Kelly said offended.

"Is it, though?" Kara wondered. "Now, Alex can get pregnant and start a family with James...as I had intended for the last several years."

"Wait...what? You dated James, remember?" Kelly said incredulously.

"Well, of course, I had to try him out to see if he would perform and, boy, did he perform," Kara said wide-eyed.

"So, you don't really care about me? You just want to get my brother laid?" Kelly asked pissed-off.

"That's it, that's it!" Kara pointed.

"What?" Kelly asked confused.

"That righteous anger. I want to see more of that in you. You need to stand up for yourself and not be easily torn down," Kara said.

"So, you're just fucking with me, right now?" Kelly assumed.

"Partially," Kara said vaguely.

Brainiac 5 handed Kara a datapad on Alex's recent vitals. "Well...I'll be damned."

Back at her apartment, Alex had a brief moment of clarity. She eyed a framed photograph of her and Kelly. She then looked at herself in the mirror and saw ape-like features becoming more prominent in her face. "Oh my God, what have I done?" she asked herself.

Alex rushed down to the clinic without telling anyone and demanded to see Dr. Solovar. "What did you do to me?" Alex demanded with a pistol in her hand.

"I made you better, stronger," Dr. Solovar said to her.

"Reverse what you did," Alex ordered.

"I'm afraid I can't do that," Dr. Solovar refused.

Alex fired into his leg dropping him. Immediately, Dr. Solovar's body began to morph into that of a Gorilla. With the wound healed, he charged. A surprised Alex shot him several more times before she was subdued by him. Dr. Solovar dragged Alex to a portal to Gorilla City leaving a blood trail behind.

Soon thereafter, Supergirl entered the clinic and found it staffed but with Dr. Solovar gone. "I'm looking for this woman," Kara said to the receptionist.

"I'm sorry, we can't release patient records," she refused.

Kara eyed her odd physiology and realized she wasn't human. She proceeded to vaporize her with heat vision and then stormed the halls firing on every single worker in the clinic until she reached the room hosting the portal. Kara eyed the blood droplets leading to a deactivated portal. Brainiac 5 decloaked at her side and touched the blood.

"It's Gorilla DNA," he said. "A few of Alex's hairs have been left on the floor."

"What the fuck am I dealing with?" Kara asked.

"The legend of Gorilla City. In the Congo is a city of highly intelligent apes. They keep to themselves and are self-sufficient. Their city is protected by an energy field and cloak," Brainiac 5 said.

"This is sounding awfully familiar," Kara frowned.

"I would advise against a frontal assault, for Alex's sake. A direct attack on the shield could overload the system causing catastrophic damage to the city. I recommend a covert operation. Once Alex has been retrieved, they will lose their leverage," Brainiac 5 said.

"I don't know if I can trust him not to fuck it up," Kara said uncertainly.

"If you don't trust Mon now, when will you?" Brainiac 5 asked.

Gorilla City

Alex was brought before the throne of Grodd in the palace of Gorilla City. He looked down upon her half-human, half-ape form with amusement. Grodd wore his ceremonial armor with bodyguards at the exits. "Alexandra Danvers, you will be my new queen," Grodd informed her.

"Is this what this is all about?" Alex asked.

"At first, we collected those society did not want: the homeless, criminals, the sick, and the old. Then, we enticed people like you desperate for a cure, desperate to fit in, desperate to have their families back. Once we are ready, we will no longer have to hide our operations. We will turn the entire human population into apes and the human race will be no more," Grodd said ambitiously.

"Why me?" Alex asked.

"As the sister of Supergirl, you make excellent leverage. She will not dare to oppose me once you are mine. In time, you will call me master, in time you will call me your mate," Grodd said to her.

"You're insane," Alex shook her head.

"You have nothing to go back to. You are estranged from your family, got rid of your girlfriend, and now you are all alone," Grodd taunted.

"No matter what I have done or said, my friends will come for me," Alex said confidently.

"Once your transformation is complete, you will refuse their rescue," Grodd predicted.

Alex suddenly felt a painful sensation as her clothes burst off of her body as she gained in size, fur spread all over her body, her face morphed to that of an ape, and her body became twice as big. She was now a fully changed female Gorrila.

Mon as Superman flew straight for Gorilla City's location and saw only mountains. With his right hand, he fired on the mountain causing the shield to activate. Mon fired just enough to create a small hole in the shield but not overload the system. Seeing the ground inside the shield, Mon instantly transported himself inside the city getting past the shield.

The apes fled from Mon as he casually walked towards the palace. No one resisted him knowing the strength of Superman. Mon entered the palace and found Grodd on his throne with Alex, fully changed, at his feet. She was now dressed in a bathrobe that fitted her new size. She gave Mon a look of confusion as if her mind couldn't place him. Since the change, her memories, emotions, and instincts had fundamentally changed.

"Wow, Alex, you really let yourself go," Mon smirked.

"Have you come for just her or all the other humans I have captured?" Grodd taunted.

"Just her," Mon replied.

"I can sense your deception with my evolved brain. You're not Superman at all but an imposter. You are Mon-El, Prince of all Jin-Saiyan," Grodd said to him.

"You got me," Mon admitted.

"Fool, I have been trained in martial arts combat. I will add your skull to my collection," Grodd said referring to a large trophy room of human skulls.

"Oh, I don't think so," Mon said confidently.

Grodd came down from his throne and met Mon in the palace square. "I won't use my mind control to fry your brain if you promise to remain in your base form. Are we agreed?"

"Sure," Mon allowed.

"You look scared. I see the look of fear in your eyes," Grodd sensed.

"I'm just bored. You're boring me," Mon insulted.

The fight began with Mon punching Grodd to the face hard a few times and then to the gut a few times as well. Mon kept it up with three punches to the head and then three punches to the gut in quick succession. Grodd punched Mon back to the face with a power Mon did not expect. Grodd got in some right and left punches on Mon pushing him back. Mon came back with a vengeance with several body shots. Grodd punched Mon to the head knocking him off-balance. From that time on, Grodd gave Mon devastating punches to the face and body. A weakened Mon took some steps back as he tried to recover.

"You're nothing, Mon. I'm going to smuggle you," Grodd taunted.

Mon got one quick shot on Grodd's face and then the tide turned completely. Grodd smacked Mon around with powerful blows to the head until, finally, Mon hit the floor dazed. Hurt and confused, Mon had no choice but to retreat. He put two fingers to his forehead and instantly disappeared. Grodd raised his arms into the air in victory.

DEO Fortress

A defeated Mon cleaned himself up and decided to brood in the DEO fortress. Brainiac 5 walked over to him. "You lost because you were physically and mentally deficient," Brainiac 5 assessed.

"Thanks," Mon said sarcastically.

"It is within your ability to defeat him at your base level. I can rebuild you and strengthen you," Brainiac 5 offered.

"Yeah, sure, why not?" Mon said half-heartedly.

Brainiac 5 put Mon on a training regime while Kelly watched anxiously. Mon put in a half-ass effort to train on his footwork, swim laps in the pool, and sparing in the boxing ring with drones. Brainiac 5 drones nailed Mon several times before backing off. Kelly gave a frustrated look as it didn't even seem like Mon was trying. Finally, Mon ran on the beach alongside a Brainiac 5 drone only to stop half-way and give up.

Kelly went over to him with an unimpressed look. "I know you don't really give a shit about Alex or anyone, but she means a lot to me. It doesn't matter what she said or did just before she disappeared. It's about our entire history. Supposedly, you're the only one that can beat this guy. So, I need you to train and give a shit!" Kelly raged at him.

Mon gave her an incredulous look. "I need you to have the eye of the tiger in you," Kelly told him.

"Eye...of the...tiger?" Mon wondered.

"Yes! That's it!" Kelly said excitedly.

"Alright," Mon nodded.

From that time on, Mon activated the gravity machine so that he could work out in 300x Earth's gravity. Mon and Brainiac 5 worked together to improve his footwork, his ability to dodge, his punches, and overall speed. From the outside of the gravity machine, Kelly smiled with optimism as Mon got serious with his training. At the end of it, Mon gave Brainiac 5 a grateful hug. "Love you man...no-homo," Mon said appreciatively.

Gotham

Brainiac 5 visited Kara at Wayne Tower in her office on the top floor. "Has Alex been recovered?" she asked impatiently.

"Not yet," Brainiac 5 replied.

Kara looked out the window. "I'm sick and tired of his Insane pride getting in the way of completing the mission."

"It is his Insane pride that has made him the strongest Jin-Saiyan that has ever existed," Brainiac 5 said.

"I guess," Kara frowned. "You're here for a reason?"

"Grodd is not from Earth. An army of apes is being assembled on Calor ready to claim this world. I suggest a preemptive strike," Brainiac 5 said.

"American style," Kara smirked.

"Of course," Brainiac 5 agreed.

Gorilla City

Mon as Superman entered Gorilla City for a rematch. "Fool, you should have never come back. You ready for another ass-kicking, Mon-El?" Grodd smiled.

"You will try," Mon said confidently.

"The stakes are much higher now. Should you fail, I will lead an invasion force against the entire world," Grodd told him.

"Might as well," Mon said unconcernedly.

The fight began with Mon giving Grodd combination punches to the face by the dozen. Grodd missed each time he threw a punch. The much faster Mon continued to give Grodd a solid beating. Grodd took hold of Mon to stop his momentum. The two struggled briefly as they wrestled against each other and then Mon continued with fast combination punches. Grodd continued to miss giving Mon an opening for his combinations. Within the first two minutes, Mon had punched Grodd at least fifty times. A hurt and frustrated Grodd was still ready to fight.

"I'll kill you," Grodd promised him.

Mon continued to jab at Grodd's head until, finally, Grodd charged Mon with some powerful hooks. Mon attempted to escape when Grodd pulled him back in front of him. Grodd beat on Mon and then placed him in a headlock. Mon managed to escape the headlock but was hit several times by Grodd's hooks. Finally, Mon fell to the floor dazed. As soon as it came back up, Grodd hit Mon with several more hooks. Mon put up his hands to block Grodd's powerful punches.

"You ain't so bad," Mon taunted Grodd.

In reality, Mon was hurt and growing tired. "I'm going to get you," Grodd said to Mon.

Mon gave Grodd several jabs and dodged Grodd's hooks. When Grodd did connect, it was devastating to Mon's body. Mon was about to go down again when Grodd started losing power and speed fast. "Come on, your people are watching. Knock me out," Mon taunted.

Grodd continued to throw hooks at Mon which only tired him out. "Hit me harder," Mon mocked. Grodd obliged, giving him a powerful kidney punch and then one to the head. Mon was forced to raise his hands to block as Grodd overpowered him. "Come on, my mother hit harder than that," Mon taunted.

After Grodd missed Mon several times, Mon unleashed combination punches. The two traded blows with neither backing down. The fight then became one-sided as Mon punched non-stop against the tired Grodd. Finally, a well-placed punch brought Grodd to the floor in a heap. The apes in the crowd shouted and hooted in dismay at their fallen champion. Grodd got back to his feet with a face that looked a bit fucked-up.

"You forget I have mind-control powers. You're fucked," Grodd said to Mon.

When nothing happened, Grodd became frustrated and confused. "Psychic inhibitors," Mon said obviously.

"So, you could have used your other forms this entire time! Why didn't you?" Grodd asked outraged.

"I wanted to kick your ass in my base form," Mon said simply.

"Well, then I will show you my final form," Grodd said as he began to get progressively larger.

Mon eyed Grodd as he became as tall as a skyscraper. "Well...shit," he realized.

Grodd laughed as he reached his full size. "You poor insignificant fool! I am the ruler of all the jungles! All the apes obey my every whim! The forests and all of their creatures bow to my power!" Grodd declared.

"Not this ape," Mon smirked.

Mon flexed as he summoned all of his power at once. The ground moved away from him as if they were waves. The city shook as Mon glowed furiously with windows being blasted out. The water from nearby lakes began to more and trees were blown back. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Mon screamed as he transformed.

His hair, styled to look like Superman, spiked up, and his eyelids became red as his face gave a more hardened look. His Superman suit disappeared as dark red fur covered his arms, back, and abdomen. A monkey tail sprung from his paints. Superman's trousers and boots changed color while red fur spread down his legs underneath. Mon's muscles bulked up significantly as an aura of golden flames expanded from his body. Finally, Mon had reached Super Insane 4.

Grodd gave Mon an unimpressed look and slammed his fist down on the ground buckling it and scattering his own people spectating. Mon flew up towards Grodd and gave him a good uppercut. Grodd fell backward destroying his own mind-control tower. The apes of the city were now free from his influence. A furious Grodd punched at Mon with all of his strength. Mon blocked the punch with both arms in midair.

"You'll have to do better than that," Mon mocked.

Grodd punched Mon with his left. Mon hissed in pain from the blow, everything behind him was suddenly demolished from the shockwave of the impact. Grodd punched Mon to the ground hard. "I'm still standing," Mon taunted as he landed.

Grodd punched at Mon missing him completely. Mon cocked his arm back and unleashed his most powerful attack. "Dragon-Fist!" Mon shouted as he created a golden dragon of pure energy from his fist. The energy dragon blasted a large hole through Grodd's gut and out the other side. The giant energy dragon wrapped around Grodd's limbs and then bit into his neck. In a sudden explosion of energy, the dragon ignited. Grodd fell to the ground a burned and bloody mess.

The shield and cloak came down revealing Gorilla City to the world. One of the apes deactivated his hologram revealing himself to be Brainiac 5. He captured Dr. Solovar in the ruins of the city with his cables. "The antidote, if you please," Brainiac 5 said as he implanted a cable into his brain. Upon reading his mind of all useful information, Brainiac 5 killed him.

"Do you have the antidote?" Kelly asked Brainiac 5 once she arrived on the scene.

"Yes, but it may take some time to heal from the emotional trauma," Brainiac 5 said to her.

"Leave that to me," Kelly assured him.

"I will," Brainiac 5 said and then injected Alex with the antidote.

Alex shrank in size and became more human. Mon powered down to his base form looking like Superman once more except with spiky black hair. "Mission accomplished?" he asked.

"Not quite. It would appear every intelligent ape that resided in this city was once human. With the shield gone, many of them have scattered into the forest," Brainiac 5 said.

"Where they truly belong, with nature," Mon mused.

"Some would argue that they should be found, changed back, and brought back to their original homes," Brainiac 5 said.

"Sounds like a job for someone else," Mon said dismissively.

Within minutes, Alex was back to her normal self. "I felt his thoughts. I saw what he wanted to do to me, to everyone," Alex said tearfully to Kelly.

"He's gone. You're safe now," Kelly assured her.

"I'm so sorry," Alex said as she gave Kelly a hug.

"It wasn't you," Kelly told her. Kelly then turned to Mon. "Thank you, Mon," she said sincerely.

"No problem," Mon replied shaking her hand.

Calor

Thousands of apes wearing armor assembled in the desert under the command of General Thade. They wore chest armor and cone helmets. While the majority were Infantry with pikes, there was also a large Calvary force as well. Supergirl was present in front of them using a hologram of several primitive humans as bait. If they attacked the human holograms, it would be all the moral justification Kara would need to give them freedom.

"Send in the first wave," Gen. Thade ordered.

Kara waited as several hundred apes approached her. They ran on their knuckles as they did at a fairly good pace. As soon as they came into range, Kara blasted them with a powerful heatwave beam that exploded the desert in fire. The apes were either incinerated or throw into the air. A dust cloud formed in front of the ape army. Within a second, several hundred ape warriors were dead. Once the dust had settled, a few of the apes on the ground were still alive albeit burned severely. The ground close to Kara was no longer sand but glass.

"We cannot hope to defeat her," Gen. Thade's righthand ape told him.

"She can only do it once," Gen. Thade figured. He turned to his confused and fearful men. "For Harambe!" he shouted.

The apes cried out in enthusiasm and charged Kara with all of their forces. Infantry dragged their knuckles as they ran while the Calvary galloped. The archers fired thousands of arrows directly at Kara blocking out the sun.

Metropolis

At Metropolis General, Alex eyed the nurses and doctors apprehensively. When Kelly would attempt to give her a hug, she would pull away. Brainiac 5 appeared as an ape in a lab coat as he examined Alex's vital signs and treatment. As soon as he exited the room, he went back to his normal form. "She's suffering from species dysphoria. It will take some time before she becomes comfortable with humans," Brainiac 5 said to Kelly.

"How much time?" Kelly wondered.

"Unknown but I expect a final resolution by the end of the season," Brainiac 5 assured her.

"So, she sees me the same way we see apes?" Kelly asked.

"Precisely," Brainiac 5 replied. "You must forgive her if she's unaffectionate towards any of her loved ones."

Kelly nodded and then cautiously entered the room. Alex gave her an odd look as she came in. "Alex, I realize you must be feeling scared and weird right now. Take as much time as you need. I'll be here when you're ready."

"It's not just that. I betrayed you and broke us up," Alex said tearfully.

"You weren't thinking properly," Kelly excused her.

"It's like Kara and Red Kryptonite. How much of it was real and how much of it was fake? I need time to process this," Alex said completely befuddled.

"I understand," Kelly said and then exited the room.

Alex sighed unable to put her thoughts together as to whether she was human, an ape, straight, gay, or a little of all four.

Calor

Kara walked the battlefield filled with thousands of chared ape and horse corpses. The sand was scorched black from the heat. Kara walked around the corpses to get to someone who was still actually alive. "She can only do it once? That's the funniest shit I've heard in a long time," Kara chuckled to no one in particular.

She finally came to someone still alive. "You think you can send some of your people to Earth, create a colony for yourselves, change my sister into an ape, and think you will get away with it? I don't think so," Kara told him. "I could send you all into the dark ages if I wanted to, but I'm not that cruel. You tell your leadership that if they ever start trouble on Earth again, I'll put you all on the endangered species list."

The injured ape merely groaned in reply.

Metropolis

A few days later, Alex recovered some of her sense of reality and left her room in civilian clothes. Two security guards attempted to stop her. Alex quickly subdued them and ran out of the hospital. Brainiac 5 drones went after her but she was able to leave the hospital quicker than they could apprehend her. Going outside, Alex ran down the street and found herself in a city square. Only, the people around her were all apes walking around wearing suits, shoes, and using electronic devices. Alex began to hyperventilate as if she had an anxiety attack.

Supergirl suddenly landed disrupting traffic and causing people to scatter away from her. From Alex's POV, Kara was the only one not an ape in the city. Upon seeing her, Alex calmed down and avoided looking at the apes gawking. "I can't tell what is real," Alex admitted to Kara.

"I'm real," Kara told her.

Alex nodded her head certain of that. "Let me take you to a place where you can recover," Kara said gently and then embraced her. Kara then flew them both out of Metropolis towards Smallville.

Author's Notes: The Grodd of this episode is not the one from Earth-1 in CW Flash. In Adventures, Crisis doesn't force the multiverse together. I felt there needed to be some additional context for why Kara quickly ditched James for Mon-El in Season 2. In this version, Kara was having an affair with James to see if he would be good for Alex in the future but received a serious setback when Alex came out. The message I intend to send on conversion therapy is I have no message. This is all just nonsense not to be taken seriously.
