Kingdom of Fiore

The Edge of Sabertooth's Hometown

I opened my eyes and saw her dark rain gear standing out against a blue sky. I looked down at myself and saw that I was standing on grass, not too far away from a rose field. I jumped back and ran towards the direction of where we came in, and saw no door. What in the world could have happened to us? Nothing in any of my meteorology classes could explain the sudden change!

I didn't realize I ran so far back until I heard Leeanna shout, "Hey Shannon! Come look at this!" I walked back to where she was and saw her pointing at a building, using her hand to shield her eyes, "Do you see what I see?"

"Holy…" The building had a large sabertooth tiger on it, and it was the top of a mountain! Wait...I've seen this place before...oh my goodness. I turned to Leeanna and my eyes widened, "HOW DID WE END UP IN FIORE?!"

She looked at me and shrugged, "I don't know! Is this for real?"

I walked over to the rose field and plucked a red and buff rose, the thorns poking me. I presented them to Leeanna and calmly said, "Yeah. These are real, right?"

Her fingers picked up the roses, the thorns sticking her like they did me. She held the flowers up to her nose and sniffed in their sweet parfum. No sooner did she do that, the roses were on the ground. I saw her look around once more and nod, "They're real alright. But what about my project?"

"I think we've got bigger issues to worry about than your project. We need to find out how to get back to Belmont first." I picked up the roses and held them in my hand, "I say our best bet is to head towards the town, and go from there."

She nodded as she turned away from the building, "Alright, but what if we run into anyone from Fairy Tail? Or worse, Sabertooth?"

"We'll think of something, alright?" I smiled at her as I started to take my jacket off to reveal a white Nashville Predators shirt, "Let's try to find a path to get to town…" My mind went elsewhere as I saw a cat and a frog, walking together, side by side.

My attention was brought back to Leeanna when she snapped her fingers in my face, "Are we going or not?"

"Look! Over there! You're seeing this too, right?" I pointed towards the two creatures.

She grabbed my arm and put it down, "Staring at them isn't nice. You know who they are, right?"

"That can't be Lector and Frosch. Cats don't talk outside of anime!"

"But we're in an anime world right now. At least we can follow them to figure out where to go, or how to get some help. Regardless of what time it is here, Sabertooth is strong, and they might be able to help us out."

"You're right!" I started to run to where they were, but Leeanna stopped me in my tracks.

I turned towards her and she covered my mouth, "We don't want to scare them. No offense, if this world is real, I kind of want to see Sting for my own eyes. And you wouldn't want to tick Rogue off, right?"

I nodded at her, and she dropped her hands to her side. Leeanna started to walk ahead, and I mentally cursed her out for hitting me in the soft spot. So what if I had a teeny tiny minor crush on a Dragon Slayer? She does too, ya know! I followed her, being as quiet as a mouse.

So we snuck along, behind the two Exceeds, for quite a while. We eventually ended up in the town, neither of us saying a word. I would guess that we were both lost in thought about our current situation. The only thing that snapped us out of it was the high pitch scream of someone in trouble. I looked up and saw Frosch running away from people trying to catch it. I looked over to my Big and nodded at her, "I'm sorry, but I'm coming out of hiding right here, right now. Frosch needs help, and I'm not going to let it get taken away!"
She nodded at me, "I agree. Let's show them what The Dream Squirrels can do!" Leeanna ran into the crowd and started to push aside the people trying to capture Frosch. I ran ahead of her and gave her a thumbs up as I ran away, the roses falling out of my hand.

So what if we weren't mages? We were still going to help out anyways. I made it past her and shoved the thieves out of the way, yelling out, "Not today!" I caught up to the little Exceed and jumped between it and its possible captors.

The captors looked at me and gasped, "We messed with the wrong guild, boys! That's a Sabertooth mage!" They were pointing at my shirt...which was of the Nashville Predators! I was going to have to get a change of clothes soon.

As the old saying goes, fake it until you make it, right? I smirked at them and smiled, "You'll pay for that too!" I ran towards them, taking a deep breath in, and when I released it, a beam of light came flying out of my mouth! The kidnappers started to run the other way, towards Leeanna, and I cried out, "Big! Watch out!"

She turned and took a deep breath in, and similar to me, when she let it out, a beam of darkness left her mouth! The thieves were petrified of both of us, so they fell to the ground. She approached them and smirked at them, "Now here's the deal: you run away from here and promise to never bother our town again, and you live. Got it?"

The thieves started to quickly run away, but I couldn't celebrate at all! My hand was covering my mouth, wondering how I was able to do that. I stepped towards Leeanna, but was stopped when I felt something tugging at my pants. I looked down and saw Frosch and it had tears in its eyes. I bent down and smiled at the creature, "Are you okay?"

"Fro thinks so! Thank you for saving me!" The cute Exceed then hugged me, and I couldn't help but wrap my arms around it! I picked it up and started to walk over towards Leeanna. Well, Frosch definitely felt real.

As I was about to approach Leeanna, I saw Lector approaching her. He had the roses in his hand and beamed at my Big, "Did you drop these?"

She shook her head, "No, but I'll take them."

Lector handed her the roses and smiled at her, "You haven't seen a cat wearing a frog costume anywhere, have you?"

I tapped Leeanna on the shoulders and spoke, "I found something like that!" She turned around from her position on the ground and gasped at me.

Because her head was turned, Lector managed to see Frosch in my arms. Frosch waved at Lector as I sat on the ground, near where my Big was kneeling. Lector looked at the two of us and spoke, "Frosch! I thought you had found Sting and Rogue!"

"Fro got lost instead! But Fro got saved by people like Sting and Rogue."

"How did you get in trouble in the first place?"

"Fro saw a frog and started to chase it! Then, big scary people came and chased Frosch, but these two people scared them away!"

Lector's eyes widened as the cat looked at us once more, "No way! Are you two Dragon Slayers?"

I looked at Leeanna and shrugged at her. Well...we can't lie, nor can we tell the truth, and she would know what to do. She quickly spoke out, "Yes, we are. We're new here in town. I'm Leeanna, and the person holding Frosch is Shannon."

Lector jumped up and down, "Awesome! I didn't know Sabertooth had two more Dragon Slayers!"

I decided to speak up here, "We're not quite members...yet. But we were hoping to join Sabertooth!"

Lector grabbed Leeanna's hand and started to try and pull her, "Then let's get you two into the guild! You seem pretty strong already! Master Jiemma would love to have two more Dragon Slayers!"

I laughed at this cat's enthusiasm and smiled at Leeanna, "Shall we follow, Sister?"

She picked up Lector and smiled at all of us, "We shall." Using Lector as a guide, we started to walk towards the guild hall. As we walked, the two Exceeds babbled to themselves, so Leeanna quickly whispered to me, "Did you send out that beam of light?"

"Yeah. And you have darkness?"

"Apparently, this seems to be the case. We're like the female versions of them." She looked at the two cats, "Well, their respective owners."

"You know we're probably going to have to meet them now, right?" I gulped, "We might even have to prove ourselves to Jiemma, and that won't go well!"

"We'll just wait and see what happens, alright? But out of all of the guilds, we're stuck with them! The guild that doesn't value friendship!"

"At least we can see you know who now!"

She started to blush as she sputtered out, "Same goes for you." My heart started to race at that thought. I'm just a geek, a nerd! Not a Light Dragon Slayer! I can't show my face to Rogue like this!

She saw the blush creeping onto my face, and started to laugh. I couldn't help but laugh either. Frosch looked up at me and smiled, "Why are you laughing?"

"It's an inside joke between my sister and I. That is all."

Lector looked at Leeanna and said, "Women are weird. First, milady is stoic and mean, then you two are the opposite of her! I just don't get women at all!"

Frosch piped up, "Frosch thinks that too!"

Lector shook his head as we stepped into the shadow of a large building. He looked up and smiled, "We're here! See Frosch, we didn't get lost! Do you think Sting and Rogue are back?"
