When James Olsen wasn't kicking ass on the US Senate floor, he was kicking ass in the streets of DC. Two guards smoking a cigarette were suddenly confronted by Guardian. The two guards fired on Guardian but their bullets merely deflected off his armor. He tossed the two guards out of the way and shouldered the metal door down.

Several thugs fired automatic rifles, shotguns, and pistols at Guardian as soon as he entered. Guardian casually took cover behind a forklift as he was being shot at and threw it at them. The thugs scattered to avoid getting hit. The table with all the money was crushed by the forklift as it landed. The thugs continued to fire on Guardian without effect. Guardian threw thugs around, tossed crates, and starting knocking out thugs one by one with solid punches to the head. One thug tried to stab Guardian only for his blade to snap off on his armor.

"The fuck?" the thug wondered.

Guardian headbutted the man to the floor. The rest of the thugs left standing ran out. Guardian lifted the leader by the neck off the floor. "Tell Mr. Liu, next time I find his ass in my capital, I won't be so gentle," James said to him.

Guardian then dropped the man to the floor only to find one last thug holding a shotgun. "Don't be stupid, kid," James said to him. "I'm cutting you a break."

The kid fired anyway hitting Guardian's helmet. "Really?" James said pissed off. The thug kid just stared at Guardian in pure terror. "Get the fuck out of here," James ordered him.

The thug left in a hurry dropping his shotgun on the floor. "Your suit has taken too much damage. Come back to the lab," Lena ordered via radio.

"Well...shit," James said realizing his fun was over for the night.

Kansas City

The next day, Kon went after a lunatic wearing a suit and laser cannon. He was firing at random objects in the streets until Kon showed up. Kon avoided his fire and punched him into a car totaling it. "I surrender," the wannabe supervillain said putting his hands up.

Kon punched him hard anyway destroying the car and severely wounding him.

The next day, it was all over the media what Kon had done. Many gave Kon the benefit-of-the-doubt that he hadn't heard the supervillain's surrender or that he was going too fast to stop himself. Others scolded Kon for nearly killing a mere human that had already given up. At Smallville High, Sara rolled her eyes as she saw the cell phone footage of the fight.

"Hi," Kon smiled at her in civilian clothes. "I know I'm late...but I got you some Japanese cheesecake."

"You went all that way across town to get cheesecake to make up for being late because you went across town to get cheesecake?" Sara asked.

"Is that Insane?" Kon asked.

"Yeah, it kind of it is," Sara replied.

Kon gave himself a pumped gesture behind Sara's back.

Washington DC

Guardian continued his heroics of saving people from a burning building complex in DC. Once he had saved everyone, the people still wondered where they would live. Guardian took pity on them and started handing out stacks of cash to them...in front of the camera...procured through Lena's trust fund.

Meanwhile, Kon punched a wolf-girl through an apartment wall and into the streets in Kansas City. As a result, an apartment complex nearly collapsed. Kon kept the apartment from collapsing until everyone got out. Finally, the apartment collapsed around him costing millions of dollars in property damage. Unlike Guardian, Kon didn't have any money to hand out.

That night, Guardian held a crooked suit over a building. "You owe a little people a lot of money. You better pay up or surrender to the authorities," Guardian ordered him.

"I just need more time," the suit said.

"Your time is up," Guardian told him and proceeded to take his passport. Guardian then threw the suit onto the roof and took off.

Kansas City

The next day, Mon and Kon did some father-bonding time in the air. They were both holding a supervillain by his legs. "The gravity bomb? Where is it?" Kon demanded.

"I'll never tell," the mad scientist said resolved.

"Now what?" Kon asked his father.

"Kon, you have to scare him. Make him think you'll actually drop him," Mon said obviously.

"Oh, okay," Kon said and then nonchalantly dropped the mad scientist.

"Now, he'll tell us everything," Mon figured.

"You're going to catch him, right?" Kon asked as the mad scientist merely screamed to his death.

Finally, the mad scientist hit the street with a sickening splat. "So...what about the bomb?" Kon asked.

"Barney did a scan of the city. He was bluffing. There is no bomb," Mon said.

"Nice," Kon smiled.

Smallville

At school, Kon was ambushed by Principal Weyland. "Shit," Kon realized he was really late.

"Mr. Kent, if you plan on going to college...," Principal Weyland began.

"I don't," Kon muttered.

"...we need to have a conversation about your recent attendance issues," Principal Weyland continued.

"Oh, shit," Kon said as he was taken away to his office.

Washington DC

James entered the lab and handed Brainiac 5 a chip he had taken from another lab. "Not even scratched? Not bad," Brainiac 5 said condescendingly and then placed the chip inside his skull. "Yes, very nice."

"You have any other bad guys I can steal from?" James asked hopefully.

"Of course," Brainiac 5 said and then showed him a hologram of different locations.

"Nice," James said as he looked over them.

"You have come to be very useful to the Super-Friends, James. You get the job done and take bullets like a champ and never complain about it, unlike Nia," Brainiac 5 complimented.

"Thanks, man," James said appreciatively.

"Sometimes you let people live when they need to die, but you do make an impact. We should talk bonus levels," Brainiac 5 continued.

"I got way too much on my plate as it is," James declined.

"This could be your way of life, what you do," Brainiac 5 suggested.

"As much as I want to, I have responsibilities," James replied. "By the way, what type of desk is that?" he asked looking it over.

"Imported Italian maple," Brainiac 5 said.

"Damn. I got to get some of that in my senate office," James said admiringly.

"Of course, I can hook you up," Brainiac 5 offered.

"Sounds great. Alright, see you soon," James smiled as he walked out of the office.

In space, Mon calmly watched as an asteroid headed towards Earth. He knew exactly when and where it would strike seeing as how he intentionally diverted it towards the Earth from the asteroid belt. Kon struck the asteroid as it entered the Earth's atmosphere and slowed it down. He eventually stopped it before it could threaten the Earth. "Now, just throw it back into space," Mon said obviously.

Kon punched the asteroid with both hands, flung the asteroid around several times, and then threw it in the other direction away from Earth. "How did that feel?" Mon asked him.

"Nice workout," Kon smiled panting for breath.

"By the way, that was a small one. You should have seen me when I played tennis with your mother using Ceres as the ball," Mon reflected.

"Ceres is the size of Texas," Kon said confused.

"I know," Mon said nonchalantly.

Kon's phone gave him an alert. "I have to run."

"What could be more important than training?" Mon asked skeptically.

"Scoring with Sara," Kon said seriously.

"We've talked about this. You can't reproduce with humans," Mon said obviously.

"I don't intend to be successful," Kon smirked.

"Make me proud, son," Mon said giving him permission to leave.

Kon then took off back to Earth accelerating to supersonic speed and experiencing the heat of reentry.

Smallville

Unfortunately, Kon lost track of time and arrived two hours late. When he knocked on the door, he was back in his civilian clothes. "I'm late," Kon acknowledged. "But I brought dessert."

"My parents are already asleep. Come upstairs," Sara said without enthusiasm.

In her room, Sara ignored Kon and worked on her homework. Kon ate some of the leftovers from dinner. "Your mom is an excellent cook," Kon complimented rubbing salt in the wound.

"You should have been here to tell her yourself," Sara said annoyed.

"In all fairness, I tried to text you," Kon said declining to tell her that his text would have not gone through in space.

"Am I not important to you, Kon?" Sara asked finally.

"Is that a trick question?" Kon asked confused.

"No, I just feel that I'm a low priority to you," Sara said exasperated. "Half the time we make plans, you're late or you cancel or you don't show up."

"It's called Filippino time," Kon excused.

"And your excuses suck," Sara admonished. "But then you get me sushi, leave notes in my locker, or you surprise me after class, and you're not a bad kisser."

"Go on," Kon said enjoying the compliments.

"But that doesn't make it okay if you keep doing it and tonight was definitely not okay. This was three months. This was you meeting my parents," Sara said.

"I have these family responsibilities. I'm like a British royal prince," Kon excused.

"Sure, that's fine. Then make that choice, but I'm not doing this anymore," Sara told him off.

"I'll do better," Kon said having no intention of doing so.

"Prove it," Sara demanded.

Kon walked back home confused that Sara didn't appreciate his awesomeness. He had never been scolded by a human female like that before. When he was scolded, he was usually threatened with violence or death. This was different. It featured something new and strange: morality, responsibility, empathy. Kon's existential crisis was cut short as he got a call from his father.

"An elephant escaped the Kansas City zoo and is rampaging across the city. Want to hunt it down?" Mon asked.

"Fuck yeah," Kon said instantly and flew off into the air.

The next morning, Kara went through her closet and found elephant ivory tusk pieces. "What the fuck?" she wondered.

"Hey, Kara, where is that candy store in town? I can't find it," Mon said with a laptop in his hands.

"It went bankrupt like half the town," Kara replied.

"Damn," Mon frowned.

"Why the fuck are there elephant tusks in the closet?" Kara demanded.

"An elephant got loose from the zoo, so Kon and I tracked it down," Mon said simply.

"Do you have any idea how illegal these are?" Kara asked disappointedly.

"The African natives say they have magical properties," Mon said defensively.

"That's bullshit," Kara told him.

"I trusted those people," Mon shook his head dismayed.

"Now, I have to get Barney to clone that elephant and make this right," Kara said annoyed.

"What does it matter? All those zoo species are all extinct in a thousand years anyway," Mon said dismissively and walked off.

At dinner, Kon discussed a new gig to work for Brainiac 5. "I know I can handle him," Kon said confidently.

"No one handles Barney," Kara said knowingly.

"Can you pass the potatoes, please?" Mara asked politely.

Mon handed her the bowl. "You're making a mistake, Kon. Barney is just using you."

"I'm not an idiot," Kon said defensively earning a scoff from Mara. "I know when someone is lying," Kon said giving Mara an accusing look.

"Even if that were true, you're Insane. You fought off an alien invasion, saved the world from an asteroid. This is beneath you," Mon said.

"Let's not...stroke his ego too hard," Kara rolled her eyes. "I know that people don't appear to be as they seem...,"

"Exactly," Mon interrupted. "Listen to your mother. You help Barney, you're going to learn a very painful lesson."

"Don't interrupt me," Kara snapped at Mon. "But I also know that you don't want to make people think you think they're beneath you."

"I'm going to sleep on this," Kon said.

"Fine, whatever," Mon rolled his eyes.

"If you do this, it will be after school," Kara directed.

After dinner, Kara and Mon got into an argument over Kon and Mara's extracurricular activities. "Why would you tell Kon that saving lives is beneath him? He's already a total narcissist sociopath," Kara scolded him.

"Other people save lives. Kon saves millions. He needs to think big," Mon argued.

"The Flaxians only arrived because my friends tried to get into the fortress and that asteroid was your fault," Kara pointed out.

"You don't understand the choices we had to make," Mon excused.

"When you first came here, you didn't know shit about humans, this society, or what was important to them," Kara pointed out.

"And?" Mon wondered where she was going with this.

"I taught you all that. I showed you how to be a hero here. So, it stands to reason Kon follows my directions," Kara said.

"I just don't think Kon should put his trust in someone he shouldn't," Mon said referring to Brainiac 5. "He should listen to me...to us."

"Barney knows that if he gets our kids killed, the deal is off," Kara said simply.

"What if he no longer gives a shit?" Mon asked darkly.

The next day, Kon was disgruntled that he was not doing well in his classes due to attendance issues, missing pop quizzes, and not doing his homework. "Well, fuck my GPA," Kon said dismissively,

"Like you need to know where Mongolia is on a map," Elisa teased.

"As a matter of fact, my father was just there," Kon recalled.

"I was joking. You actually do need to know that shit," Elisa told him.

"Damn," Kon muttered.

"I'm not sure I know what I'm doing here anymore," Elisa said confused.

Sara came by to interrupt. "What's up, Sara? You're looking nice," Kon said to her.

"You're still on my shit-list," Sara told him off.

"How do I get off it?" Kon asked curiously.

"You're coming with me to help at the soup kitchen," Sara ordered. "You are going to be there, right?"

"Of course," Kon lied.

"Don't you dare stand me up on this," Sara warned. "It's not just me you'll be fucking over."

"I'm impressed by you two," Elisa said.

"Don't be. He hasn't done anything yet and he owes me," Sara clarified."The community center is like my second home."

"Didn't it burn down?" Kon pointed out.

"There's a new one now," Sara said.

"Well, I got to go. My mom needs me at the house," Kon lied and took off.

"So...do you want to come and help, too?" Sara asked Elisa.

Elisa couldn't help but feel needed and flattered by the offer. "Sure."

"Do you know what's going on with Kon? He's always late, standing me up, and lying all the time," Sara said frustrated.

"What can I say? Guys are dicks," Elisa said.

"Yeah, who needs them?" Sara joked. "See you tonight," she said giving Elisa a smile.

Washington DC

That night, Kon and James entered Brainiac 5's office on the top floor of his tower as he worked on his computer. "I want to work for you," Kon said to him.

"You're right to come to me. You're so strong, tough, and fly all over the place. It's amazing," Brainiac 5 complimented.

"I know, right?" Kon agreed.

"I knew exactly when you and James would come through my doors, also Italian maple by the way, and ask to join me," Brainiac 5 said confidently.

"No way you saw this coming," James doubted.

"Is that what you think? I can see all kinds of possibilities with quantum computing. That's why I know we're about to be ambushed," Brainiac 5 said nonchalantly.

"Say what?" James wondered.

"I would leave if I were you. We can regroup later with an appropriate strategy," Brainiac 5 said calmly.

"No, fuck that. We take them down here and now," Kon objected.

Several villains burst through the doors and cornered them. Battle Beast was a liger humanoid with white hair, seven-foot-tall, and armed with a mace. Kurk was a humanoid in a tan-colored suit that had electrical powers. Furnace was a living plasma being contained in a mech suit. Magmaniac was a humanoid made of pure lava. Tether Tyrant appeared human except for several tentacles sprouting from his chest.

"Where's our money?" the villains demanded of Brainiac 5.

"I must leave you now," Brainiac 5 said as he self-destructed inside his robot head.

Outnumbered and outgunned, Kon and James decided to fight anyway. Kon punched Kurks up against the wall ruining a modern art painting. Kurks blasted Kon back to the floor with an electrical burst. Kon quickly recovered and punched Kurks across the room. Guardian avoided Battle Beast's strikes and tackled him to the floor. Battle Beast immediately cast Guardian off him and stomped on him. Guardian got up and gave Battle Beast a few solid punches to the head. Battle Beast smacked Guardian to the helmet across the room.

Kon got hit with Kurks' electricity and Magmaniac's lava at the same time in an ambush. Kon powered up his aura blasting the lava off him and shielding himself from the electricity. Tether Tyrant quickly wrapped up Kon's limbs to his sides and slammed him against the wall and then to the floor. Battle Beast then swung his mace hard sending Kon through the ceiling and into the air. Kon came down hard to the floor back inside the building. With Kon and Guardian stunned, the villains attempted to figure out how to reactivate Brainiac 5.

Guardian got back up only to be hit with lava that nearly overloaded his suit's defenses. Tether Tyrant wrapped up Kon pinning his limbs to his sides as Kurks continually shocked him. Seeing Guardian's precarious condition, Kon decided to take the fight a little more seriously. He powered up to Super Insane and blasted Tether Tyrant's tentacles off of him. Kon then punched Tether Tyrant against the wall with a punch to the jaw. Kon took hold of his tentacles and swung Tether Tyrant into Kurks. Kon then punched Magmaniac in half at the waist.

"Who's next?" Kon asked smirking.

Battle Beast slammed Kon's face to the floor and beat him soundly with his mace until Kon fell out of Super Insane. Tether Tyrant recovered and slammed Guardian around the room. Battle Beast continued to punch and kick at Kon giving him serious bruises and internal injuries. The wall suddenly exploded as Mara, Salu (Shrinking Violet), Dirk (Sunboy), Val (Karate Kid), Tasmia (Shadow Lass), and a new Brainiac 5 drone entered.

"We got Barney's call," Mara said as she walked up to Kon's prone body.

Battle Beast roared at them not intimidated. Dirk and Brainiac 5 fired on Battle Beast with beams of light and then punched him to the floor at the same time in a coordinated strike. Furnace fired plasma at them but was punched back by Mara. Furnace retreated away as Magmaniac sent a wave of lava onto Mara's cape. Dirk eagerly fired on Magmaniac blasting him to separated lava globs. Val irritated Battle Beast by luring him away from the other villains. Kurks fired electricity on Tasmia only hitting her shadows. Tasmia used her own shadow to wrap around Kurks' body keeping him still.

Tether Tyrant gained a hold of Salu and threw her through the wall. She suddenly became as small as an instinct, got close to him, and then reappeared at full size. She then punched him to the face hard. With the heroes getting the upper hand, the villains regrouped and charged as a unit. Kurks raced around the room as pure electricity and then shocked Mara. Tether Tyrant wrapped up the real Tasmia and slammed her to the floor knocking her out. Battle Beast overpowered Val with powerful blows. Val was slammed up against a wall that crumbled around him.

Brainiac 5 unloaded on Battle Beast with constant fire from both hands. Battle Beast hit Brainiac 5 to the head and slammed him to the floor. Magmaniac then poured lava over him to keep him stuck to the floor. Dirk blasted Magmaniac into liquid only for him to quickly reform himself. Battle Beast swat Dirk away where he fell to the floor knocked out. Battle Beast then casually raised his fist as he beat Salu down knocking her out.

"I was promised this world offered worthy opponents. But you disappoint," Battle Beast said of the Vindicators. "Killing you is an act of mercy."

Battle Beast slammed his mace down on Kon crushing his sternum and rib-cage while creating a large gash across his chest. Val ran towards Battle Beast and went for a punch. Battle Beast caught his wrist, broke his arm, and slammed him to the floor. Battle Beast then casually threw Val across the room where he slammed into a wall causing more severe damage.

With the battle turning against them, Mara went Super Insane and slammed Kurks against the wall knocking him out. She then went straight for Battle Beast with powerful punches to the head. Battle Beast caught her by the neck, slammed her against the ceiling, and back down to the floor. Battle Beast then leaped onto Mara and punched at her non-stop. Brainiac 5 fired his chest cannon dislodging Battle Beast off of Mara.

Mara and Kon groaned as they got back up in their base forms and ate green beans to restore themselves. Dirk, Salu, Tasmia, and Brainiac 5 led another attack against the villains with greater success as Battle Beast kept his eye on Mara and Kon. Tether Tyrant was choked out by Salu, Kurks' electrical body became absorbed by Brainiac 5's drone body, Sunboy absorbed the heat radiation of Magmaniac until he was cooled rock, and Furnace received significant damage to his metal body when Tasmia pulled his metal limbs off his body with her shadow arms.

"They passed," Brainiac 5 informed Kon and Mara.

"Well, okay then," Kon smiled.

Kon and Mara went Super Insane causing the entire building to shake. Kon then punched Battle Beast out of the building and into a nearby park. Battle Beast hit the ground with a thud. Mara fired off energy rings pinning Battle Beast's limbs to a boulder. Kon then powered up to Ultra Super Insane. His muscles doubled and then quadrupled in size as he screamed in effort. The ground shook and rocks began floating in the air around him. Kon's hair became even spikier than before and the pupils of his eyes disappeared. Mara waited patiently for Kon to power up to his maximum. Just when it seemed like he was done, Kon's powered a bit more to bulk up his muscles further. All the while Battle Beast struggled against the energy rings on his limbs.

In a flash of light, Kon's transformation was complete. Mara dissipated the rings on Battle Beast to make it a fair fight. Kon rushed Battle Beast and punched him hard to the gut stunning him. Kon gave Battle Beast a solid upper-cut into the air and kept punching him. He then took Battle Beast by the ankle and slammed him to the ground.

"You insignificant pest," Battle Beast growled. "You'll need more than that if you ever hope to defeat me."

"Oh really?" Kon scoffed.

"I know you. You're Jin-Saiyan. I'll tear you apart like all the others," Battle Beast taunted.

Battle Beast charged Kon but missed with all of his punches. Kon finally punched Battle Beast to the gut dragged him across the length of the park. "All too easy," Kon smirked.

Kon continued to toy with Battle Beast with powerful punches to his torso that cracked his armor. "You do take a punch well. I'll give you that," Kon taunted. "Otherwise, I'm not really impressed."

Battle Beast suddenly got a solid punch on Kon to the face. Kon punched Battle Beast back to the chest with even greater power. Battle Beast tumbled across the ground until he was in a sitting position dazed and confused. "All done?" Kon taunted.

"Not yet," Battle Beast sneered.

"So, you're a glutton for punishment. Maybe you just don't know when to quit," Kon said.

"Your arrogance will be your downfall," Battle Beast said confidently and then went for a punch. Kon's head was knocked to the side from the blow. Even Mara was slightly concerned for her brother.

Kon merely smiled as he wiped the blood from his lip. "You're not Insane. You're something else," Battle Beast realized.

"That's right. I'm half-Kryptonian as well. All it took to beat all your training and experience was a little sun," Kon mocked.

"No way an Insane and a Kryptonian would mate. It's not possible," Battle Beast doubted.

"I know you're confused so let me make it easier for you. My back is turned," Kon said as he turned his back to him.

Battle Beast went for an attack only for Kon to punch him back on his ass. "You're outclassed in every way," Kon said to him and then gave him a beat down with punches and kicks. Battle Beast went for a punch only for Kon to take his arm and throw him into a boulder.

Kon then unleashed energy attacks on Battle Beast creating an explosion in the park. As the dust settled, Battle Beast was gone. Kon looked around and was caught by surprise by Battle Beast from underground. Kon quickly recovered and beat Battle Beast down. Kon laughed at Battle Beast as he tried to figure out what to do. "Allow me to introduce you to my sister, Mara. Like me, she's a true Super Insane. She's not quite a strong as I am but it would be hard to tell the difference between us. She has incredible power," Kon pointed out.

Mara sighed slightly annoyed she was being used to assist Kon's taunting. "How can this be?" Battle Beast wondered.

"Do you now understand how completely and totally fucked you are?" Kon asked. "I deceived you into thinking you had any chance. If by some miracle, you managed to get by me, Mara would have finished you off.

Mara eyed Kon not appreciating his bluff. She had no problem severely beating this murderous bounty hunter of the galaxy but she wouldn't kill. "Allow me to retreat, and I will come back stronger than ever. As an Insane, you can appreciate the challenge," Battle Beast offered.

"How long are we talking?" Kon asked intrigued.

"No," Mara told him. "Just finish him off already."

"I want to see what he can bring," Kon argued.

"I would come back so much stronger. You would then realize your limitations," Battle Beast said to Kon.

"You have...," Kon began.

A laser beam went through Battle Beast's head killing him instantly. Brainiac 5 decloaked and looked over the body. "Shit," Kon shook his head dismayed.

"If you had been paying attention, you would have noticed him here the entire time," Mara said.

"Unlike you, I was busy fighting," Kon said disdainfully.

Kon and Mara powered down to their base forms. "The others have been terminated," Brainiac 5 informed them.

"What did they want from you?" Mara asked curiously.

"They wanted to hack into one of my drones to get access to my wealth deposits," Brainiac 5 said.

"You know we would always come to your defense," Mara said to him.

"A single drone is expendable," Brainiac 5 said dismissively.

"Not to us," Kon shook his head.

Brainiac 5 merely stared at them as he calculated their irrational attachment to any one of his drones. "Well, okay then," he said gratefully.

The injured Vindicators were taken to Brainiac 5's medical lab at the DEO Fortress. Val was in particularly bad shape with broken bones and severed arteries. The others had an assortment of electrical burns, thermal burns, and blunt trauma. After being exposed to healing rays, they were all back to normal albeit exhausted. At the tower, James waited for Lena to arrive via a portal. She eyed the blood and debris all over the floor with some alarm.

"Some night. What happened?" Lena asked.

"I got the Super Insane kids to help me take down some galactic bounty hunters," James said impressed with himself.

"How did you manage that?" Lena asked recalling how uncooperative they typically were.

"I told them the truth. I'm going to make this city better for a lot of people," James said looking out the window.

"Like giving DC statehood?" Lena wondered.

"Let's not get too crazy," James rejected.
