Mon and Kon suddenly appeared on an alien world. The sky and surface had a reddish hue to them. In the distance was a fairly large city made of the same reddish surface material. The alien natives of this planet were blue-skinned, red-eyed, praying mantis-looking creatures that were two meters tall. They were light garments that covered their torsos. As they toured the city, the mantises merely stared at them curiously.

"According to Barney, this species has a lifespan of only nine months. If we conquered this world, within nine months, that's all they would ever know," Mon said to Kon.

"Is that the plan?" Kon asked confused.

"No, Barney says this species is extinct in the 31st century. He wants to know why," Mon said. "This species has a way of teaching its young everything they need to know within a very short period. The planet's technology and infrastructure is on par with Earth. With the right leadership, they could be an effective ally in the future."

"So, what would happen if one of us were to mate with one of them?" Kon asked casually.

"What the fuck did I just hear?" Mon asked incredulously.

"Check it out: They would have our lifespan but be able to learn at a much faster rate. They would have adult intelligence within a few months of being born," Kon imagined.

"But be some twisted humanoid-insect creature," Mon pointed out.

"Or a humanoid that just has blue skin," Kon suggested.

"That sounds highly unlikely," Mon said skeptically.

"At least, there would be no need for commitment," Kon said referring to their short lifespan.

"I like where your heads at but no," Mon ordered.

The city's anti-aircraft defenses suddenly went wild as the city was under attack. Beams of light hit the city creating massive damage to the city's buildings, bridges, and infrastructure. The mantises fled in an attempt to evacuate the city while defenders stayed on their posts. When buildings collapsed, the mantises burst open in red goo.

"Maybe this is the day they went extinct," Kon considered as scores of mantises were being slaughtered.

Mon kept his focus on the air and saw something familiar. They were humanoids wearing Insane armor. A total of three Insane males flew down towards the city for more precise hits. "Kon, take the mantises to the caves. I'll deal with them," Mon said seriously.

"Are those...Jin-Saiyan?" Kon asked in amazement.

"Kon, do as I say," Mon ordered. "Follow through on the mission."

Kon obeyed and started evacuating individual mantises towards the cave, back-and-forth. Once he was done with as many as he could, Kon was confronted by one of the Insane. He was bald, muscular, and had a mustache. His name was Twi. "So, Prince Mon sired offspring. If you're powerful enough to withstand my assault, you will be allowed to live," he said to Kon.

"How gracious of you," Kon mocked not taking him seriously.

"You will either join us or die, young one," Twi said to him. "So, prepare for battle. I will give your life glory or an ending. I'm anxious to see which one it will be."

"How about after I finish this evacuation?" Kon asked.

"You're protecting these people? What the fuck?" Twi asked.

"I'm only doing it because my father told me to," Kon said defensively.

"To think Prince Mon would stoop so low as to protect these insects. I'm just stunned. It's unbelievable!" Twi said visibly disturbed.

"I know, right?" Kon agreed and then punched the Insane out of the caves.

Kon exited the caves and faced off with the pissed-off Insane warrior. "You're strong. Just not strong enough," Twi said to him.

"Oh really?" Kon smirked as he powered up. In a flash of gold light, he went Super Insane. Twi eyed Kon's transformation with interest and confusion. Within a flash, Kon has raised his power level fifty times. Still, it would be no threat to Twi.

Twi powered up and in an explosion of energy, his body began to transform. Kon watched as Twi's armor blew off his body revealing his bare chest full of battle scars. To his horror, he saw that his arms, back, shoulders, neck, and stomach became covered in dark-red fur. His eyelids became red as his face hardened. At Super Insane 4, Twi had increased from his base level 8000 times dwarfing Kon's increase of only 50. Realizing what he was up against, Kon quickly powered up to Ultra Super Insane to try to close the gap between them. Twi gave Kon's bulky a look an unimpressed look, he was still eighty times more powerful than Kon.

Kon decided to retreat and regroup with his father going as fast as he could. Twi easily caught up to him and was about to grab Kon's foot when Mon intervened at Super Insane 4. Mon punched Twi to the back sending him to the ground. Kon landed on the ground and took cover in a dead forest. He panted for breath having never pushed himself to go that fast before. Mon instantly appeared at Kon's side.

"The Insane?" Kon asked.

"He'll be back," Mon frowned. "All of them can reach Super Insane 4. You will be no match for them. I can't fight them and keep you safe at the same time. You okay?"

"Just tired," Kon admitted.

"You're going to have to push yourself if you want to survive this," Mon said grimly.

"I never thought I'd be fighting Insane before. Where did these guys come from?" Kon asked.

"I don't know. I'll be sure to ask them when I kick their ass," Mon said.

Mon and Kon took off back towards the mantis city and found it ruined with the majority of the population destroyed. "Well...shit," Kon realized.

"They were inferior beings, lesser to us. Their deaths were inconsequential. Where is the sport in this? This pisses me off," Mon said displeased. Two Super Insane 4s flew up to them. "Prince Mon, I must admit you had me worried there once I realized you could transform like us," Sunn said.

Sunn had spiky black hair with an exaggerated widow's peak. His fellow warrior was an older warrior with white spiky hair named Thur. They eyed Kon with amused interest never having seen an Insane with blond hair before. Mon quickly powered up his aura and punched Sunn to the gut while backhanding Thur. Mon grabbed Sunn's throat and slammed him through the debris of the city.

"This planet was mine to rule. They were going to be part of my empire, you fuck," Mon said to him as he dragged him through several destroyed buildings.

Sunn kicked Mon off him and got to his feet. "I didn't see your name on it," he mocked Mon as he punched him high into the air. "This planet belongs to us. You're outmatched. Our victory was never in question."

"I defeated one of you already," Mon taunted.

"You will not defeat me as easily as Twi," Sunn declared.

Kon impulsively intervened getting a hit on Sunn. "Stupid child," Sunn said as he grabbed Kon's ankle and slammed him to the ground. Kon was stunned as he impacted.

"This one is mine," Thur said as he tossed Kon into the air. Thur then took Kon by the throat. "Some of us Insane like to see our enemies dismembered. They think it leaves a better message of brutality. However, I prefer to choke the life out of my victims. It's more personal that way."

Thur slammed Kon to the ground and easily overpowered him. "Are you scared? Admit that you're terrified of me, child. Don't worry. It will be all over soon enough."

Kon struggled against Thur's grip and punched him to the face to no avail. "I commend the effort but it will have no effect. I don't even feel your blows. You are as good as dead," Thur told him.

Mon suddenly punched Sunn into Thur. Mon grabbed them both by the head into the air. "Do you know realize how fucked you are?" Mon asked rhetorically as he slammed their heads against each other. Mon then punched them both a good distance away.

Mon instantly appeared next to Kon "We've only got a second. You okay?"

"I think so. How did they become so strong?" Kon asked bewildered.

"No time to figure it out. You need to fight fast. You can't give them a second. You must anticipate their moves. You can't take time to think. You must use your Insane instincts," Mon told him.

"They're so fast and strong. How can I possibly compete with Super Insane 4?" Kon asked incredulously.

"The same way a human gets the drop on your mother sometimes. You have to outthink and outfight them. Now, get ready," Mon said as Sunn and Thur returned.

Mon and Kon powered up their auras and braced for their attack. Mon and Sunn brutally punched and slammed one another. Mon punched Sunn to the chin only to get kicked in the face. Mon and Sunn traded blows to the face and headbutted each other. Sunn punched Mon to the back and punched him to the face as they both fell. Mon punched him back and kicked Sunn high into the air. As Mon went for another strike, Sunn punched Mon to the jaw. Infuriated, Mon slammed his fists together on Sunn's head stunning him.

"Do you regret challenging me now?" Mon raged at Sunn. "Do you, mother-fucker?"

Sunn was too dazed to respond. Mon then realized his son was in mortal danger. He threw Sunn aside and went after Thur. At this point, Kon was getting destroyed by Thur. Mon intervened and slammed Thur into the city wreckage. Mon panted from effort and saw that his son was physically beaten to the point of no longer being able to fight. Twi suddenly appeared out of nowhere and gave Mon an elbow slam.

"You should know better than to let an opponent live," Twi chided. Twi then collapsed on the ground as he passed out from his injuries. In all, four Insane and one hybrid were all severely injured on the battlefield. They all reverted to their base forms unable to fight.

"It's over," Sunn radioed the others and passed out.

A ship soon arrived on the scene with three more Insane warriors: Saet (Saw-et), Frigga (Frig-ga), and Woden (Wo-den). Saet had a military haircut but had the distinction of having a red optic for his right eye. Woden was a beast of a man with white hair. Frigga was their only female with spiky long black hair. All six of them appeared to be in their 30s-to-50s, all capable of Super Insane 4. While Mon appeared to be the strongest of them all, he couldn't hope to fight them all at once or even one at a time.

Saet motioned for Twi, Sunn, and Thur to be taken away into the ship for medical treatment. They were placed on hover beds and taken back into the ship. A headband was placed on Mon's head and he was taken inside the ship as a prisoner. "We will treat your wounds," Saet said to Kon.

"Why?" Kon asked confused barely conscious.

"By all accounts, you have proven yourself a worthy member of the Insane empire. You may not be as strong as us, but you have achieved the legendary transformation. Our transformation came from mastering our beast forms and using the reflected light of massive gas giants. That is how we were able to beat you so easily," Saet revealed.

"Whatever," Kon muttered.

"We do not fault you for defending your father's honor. Go back to Earth and conquer it in the Insane tradition," Saet ordered.

The Insane ship then took off. "Fine but not because you told me to," Kon said defiantly.

While Kon waited to get picked up, he went about helping the mantises rebuild their society. With his super-strength and speed, he was able to rebuild within a fraction of the time. The mantises survivors in the caves were able to quickly reproduce their numbers. For this alien society, Kon had become their hero. They would no longer be extinct in the 31st century.

Eventually, the Vindicator cruiser arrived and surveyed the planet. Kara and Brainiac 5 looked over the planet and then noticed Kon in an alien white garb. They also noticed twin statues of Mon and Kon in the city square. "Where's your father? Why do you look like you got hit by a bus? Why are you wearing that?" Kara demanded.

"They took him," Kon said vaguely.

"Who?" Kara asked.

"The Insane," Kon replied.

Kara and Brainiac 5 gave each other looks. "Well...shit," Kara realized.

After Kon was brought back home, the Vindicator cruiser intercepted the Insane warship not too far from Earth. Like before, it appeared as a large tri-spinner. Brainiac 5 analyzed the ship's weapons, armor, and shields. "The cruiser will be no match against it," Brainiac 5 reported.

"Is Mon on that ship?" Kara asked.

Brainiac 5 scanned the ship and found Mon's tracking device inside. "He's in the detention block section."

"How could he get himself captured?" Kara asked incredulously.

"The Insane have a way to disrupt an individual's use of Ki," Brainiac 5 reminded her.

"Any Kryptonite on that ship?" Kara asked ready to strike.

"None. However, the majority of the ship's population is not Insane. They're either prisoners or slaves," Brainiac 5 said.

"So, I...shouldn't blow it up is what you're saying?" Kara rolled her eyes.

"Perhaps if you allowed yourself to be captured, it would limit casualties," Brainiac 5 suggested.

"Fine, whatever," Kara said without enthusiasm.

Kara then exited the cruiser and flew towards the ship. Immediately, the Insane noticed her presence. Frigga came out in her Insane armor and went straight for Kara. As she did, she created an energy field around her that acted as an air bubble. "I don't suppose we can talk this out? What do you say?" Kara asked mockingly.

"You call that begging?" Frigga asked mockingly.

Frigga went for a punch only for Kara to easily dodge her. Kara kicked her away with just enough force to stun her. "Your loss," Kara smirked.

"What the hell?" Frigga wondered. "My fourth husband couldn't hit me that hard. How did you become so strong?"

"Sorry, I only tell after I kiss," Kara mocked.

"Well, your strength may prove useful in our prison," Frigga said as she went for another strike.

Kara grabbed Frigga's wrist as she went for a punch and pushed her away. "You think you can throw me into prison. You got me fucked up," Kara laughed.

"You are a fool to taunt me. I've killed beings for less," Friga said pissed off. She went for a punch and hit Kara hard to the face. Kara then appeared knocked out surprising Friga. "I guess you can dish it out but you can't take it."

Kara smirked as Friga took her inside the Insane warship.

Onboard the Insane warship, the Insane delegated their guards to execute Kara. She was placed in strong handcuffs and placed in various rooms where the guards tried everything they could think of to kill her. They used a powerful press on her head to crush her skull only to have the machine malfunction and break apart. They then attempted to fire their plasma rifles at her at close range without making a mark. All the while, Kara mocked their attempts. Finally, the guards gave up and signaled to the Insane that they would have to do it.

Meanwhile, Mon was taken to an execution room. He had a headband on his forehead to disrupt his ki and was in heavy handcuffs. "It's time," an Insane guard told him. Upon hearing the Insane guard with her super-hearing, Kara snapped off her handcuffs, kicked the door to her cell open, and flew through the halls punching out all the doors. The guards fired on her without effect. Kara fired back with heat vision creating an instant massacre. Kara then scanned the ship for Mon and found three Insane warriors not too far from her.

The Insane style for execution was a sacred tradition going back thousands of years. It involved the prisoner being chained to the floor while two guards beat him to death with their fists. As they did, the two guards would state the prisoner's honors and accomplishments in life. In this way, the Insane showed respect and honor towards even the worst offenders. It also meant capital punishment was not meant to be used as revenge or hatred but rather a social necessity. Mon's handcuffs were connected to the floor forcing him to his knees. The two Insane guards circled Mon and every so often gave him a punch to the face.

"I regret that it has come to this. You were my hero," the first Insane guard said. "We consider it an honor...," the second Insane guard said.

"Just get it over with," Mon rolled his eyes.

A heat vision beam blasted the cell open revealing Kara. "Sup?" she smiled at Mon.

"Who dares to interrupt an Insane execution?" the first Insane guard demanded."This ceremony is sacred," the second Insane guard said outraged.

"Yeah, not for me," Kara said advancing on them. She broke off Mon's restraints and took off his headband. During the fight, the freed prisoners escaped in all of the ships they could find from the Insane warship. Alien guards flooded the room to try to take hold of Kara and Mon. Kara used the breach in the room to bottleneck the alien guards and slaughtered them with punches as soon as they came in. Eventually, this became tedious, so Kara blasted a large hole in the ship casting dozens of alien guards into space. The alien guards began to suffocate immediately in the vacuum of space. The first Insane guard grabbed a hold of Kara. "You'll die for what you've done," he said angrily.

Mon unnecessarily punched the first Insane guard off of Kara. In a coordinated attack, Kara and Mon punched the first Insane guard to the head blasting it open on impact. The angry alien prisoners inside the ship overwhelmed the second Insane guard and tore him apart. Kara and Mon got back onto the ship and killed the remaining alien guards until they reached the bridge.

"I expected more," Kara said referring to the Insane.

"According to Insane law, it requires two to execute someone. The rest have been called away. There are only 50 or so Insane left in the universe," Mon said accessing the computer.

Smallville

At the same time, Kon and Mara at lunch at a food court outside. "I think I got Elisa in the bag. I gave her an offer she couldn't refuse," Kon said victoriously.

"Do tell," Mara said skeptically.

"Aside from my physical prowess, I have a set of skills that rival even the most highly trained lesbian prostitute," Kon said boldly. "Additionally, she knows that as long as she's with me, she's also able to get close to you."

"So, she wants to be with me via proxy," Mara said concernedly.

"Mission accomplished," Kon said, proud of himself.

"Not exactly. This is merely a bandaid over a gaping wound," Mara said.

"Perhaps you expect too much of people," Kon countered.

"I'd prefer her celibate than sexually active with you. Unless you marry her, this is counterproductive," Mara said dismissively.

"Maybe this will turn her," Kon suggested.

"No, she's only attached to you, not your sex. As soon as you leave her, she'll go back to before," Mara predicted.

"Well...shit," Kon muttered.

"Kon-El, come with me," Frigga ordered him. She was dressed in human civilian clothes and looked fairly normal aside from her spiky hair and stern face.

"Excuse you?" Kon stared her down.

"You will come with me or I'll kill this human companion of yours," Frigga threatened.

"Who is this?" Mara asked calmly.

"This is Frigga. She's Insane," Kon introduced her.

"I don't have time for your bullshit. We leave now or I'll massacre this entire area," Frigga threatened.

"Ha, no balls," Kon taunted.

"Kon, do it," Mara ordered.

"Fine," Kon relented and followed Frigga into the sky.

The two came to a stop over the ocean in the clouds. "I didn't want it to be this way, threatening your companion," Frigga said apologetically.

"She's actually my sister, so you just made it weird," Kon revealed.

"Sister?" Frigga asked dismayed. "So, you have a twin sister."

"What is this about?" Kon asked.

"You were charged with conquering this planet. What steps have you made to prepare for the takeover?" Frigga asked.

"None," Kon said lazily.

"I'm not here to fight you, Kon. Trust me, if I were, you would already be dead," Frigga said impatiently.

"Then, why are you here?" Kon asked confused.

"To clarify things. You think the Insane are warmongers, a race to be feared, to be opposed, to be destroyed. I'm here to tell you that you're not wrong," Frigga smirked.

"Well, okay then," Kon smiled amused.

"Our people are quick to become violent. Have you not experienced this, yourself?" Frigga asked.

"All the time," Kon said referring to his video game losses.

"Our intent to conquer other worlds is to take a planet's natural resources and give nothing back in return," Frigga said. "This planet is riddled with disease and war. An Insane occupation would rid these people of their suffering."

"By terminating the population," Kon assumed.

"I call that...mercy," Frigga told him. "This world could become an Insane utopia."

Kon was barely attentive as he listened in on a cruise ship mishap. "This is all very interesting but I have to go save some people from imminent death."

"Fine, I shall join you," Frigga offered.

"Shit," Kon realized having had no intention of actually saving those people.

The two flew towards the ship and found a gaping hole in its hull. The ship was sinking fast with some people in the water. Kon and Frigga worked to bring the people out of the water and back onto the ship. "The ship has taken too much damage. You'll need to take it to a nearby island," Brainiac 5 radioed Kon.

"Let's see how strong you are," Kon challenged Frigga.

The two flew to the stern of the ship and pushed it towards the island a few miles away. The ship became beached on the island and stopped flooding. Kon panted from the effort of moving a 200,000-ton ship. "Impressive work," Frigga said condescendingly. "I see that you care a great deal about these Earth-creatures. Like pets."

"Pets you can mate with," Kon smirked. "Wait...that came out wrong."

"We need not be enemies. We can both get what we want by making a deal," Frigga said.

"Yeah, I'm not persuaded," Kon refused.

"I'm sorry to hear that," Frigga said darkly. "This wasn't a negotiation," she said as she punched Kon into the air. Kon made an immature scream as he went flying away. "You done fucked up," she said angrily.

Frigga slammed Kon back into the island creating a crater and got on top of him. She then powered up and rapidly transformed to Super Insane 4. Her civilian clothes were cast off the upper part of her body. Red fur raced across her body, her hair spiked up, her eyelids became red, and her muscles become more pronounced. Red fur flowed over her breasts leaving her abs, cleavage, and the rest of her chest bare. A red tail wrapped around her waist. Frigga looked over Kon with a hungry expression on her face. Nonetheless, she powered up an orb in her right palm and aimed it at his face.

"I'm stronger and faster than you. Clearly, I'm also smarter than you. I happen to have a nasty temper so you better not piss me off, right now," Frigga warned.

"I'm having the most awkward boner," Kon admitted.

"You really have no idea how much danger you're in. Are you brave or just stupid?" Frigga asked.

"Little bit of both," Kon replied.

"You will conquer this world. That is not up for debate. If you ignore your duty, there will be consequences. You can choose to conquer this world however you wish. You could decide to evacuate those you feel worthy of life and preserve this weak-ass species. Or, we can do your job for you and kill everyone and everything on this world in an instant," Frigga threatened.

"Like I don't have enough to worry about," Kon rolled his eyes.

Frigga glared at Kon's defiance and flew up into the air.

Instead of conquering the world as he was ordered to, Kon hung out at Elisa's apartment. "So, what's the deal? Why can't I meet them?" Kon asked as he rested on Elisa's bed.

"Who?" Elisa asked not taking him seriously.

"Who do you think? Your parents. Did you think I would notice the way you evade the subject all the time?" Kon asked.

"I'm sorry. I'll let you meet them if you really want to. It's just my parents are horrible," she said dramatically. "You wouldn't understand."

Kon gave her an odd look. "Try me."

"They'd rather me stay gay so I'll focus on my studies and career. The last thing they would want for me is for me to get pregnant," Elisa said.

"In the future, being a mom is a career with a rank and pay-grade to go with it," Kon mused.

"Sounds like a recipe for overpopulation," Elisa rolled her eyes.

"It would be if not for the fact humanity was reduced to one percent of its population," Kon said nonchalantly.

"Jesus," Elisa said stunned.

Kon suddenly got a message from his watch. "Sup?" he asked.

"Come to the DEO immediately," Brainiac 5 ordered.

"Sounds serious. Maybe I should come along," Elisa volunteered.

"Try to keep up," Kon smirked.

DEO Fortress

Kon and Elisa arrived at the DEO and met up with Mara, Brainiac 5, and several Vindicators: Shrinking Violet, Colossal Boy, Chameleon Boy, Lightning Lass, Ferro Lad, Shadow Lass, Karate Kid, and Sun Boy.

"What's up, Barney?" Kon asked.

"A total of sixteen male Insane warriors have revealed themselves and have conducted strategic raids across the planet," Brainiac 5 said showing hologram videos of them.

"You should have taken your fight with that Insane female more seriously," Mara scolded.

"What's their power-levels?" Kon asked, ignoring Mara.

"So far, lower than super," Brainiac 5 replied.

"Too easy," Kon said confidently.

"This is an opportunity to show your parents you can handle responsibility," Brainiac 5 reminded him. "Do not underestimate them."

The sixteen Insane warriors took on different appearances and colored uniforms but with the same basic armor. They spread out across the globe and created chaos and mayhem. #1 attacked Stryker's island destroying the walls of the prison freeing the prisoners. "Is this what passes for a prison on this world," he mocked.

#2 attacked London. "Pathetic. I wouldn't even keep you as a slave in my empire," he said as he fired on Big Ben. In Moscow, #3 flew through Basil Basilica in Red Square causing significant damage. "Run! Flee! This is nothing compared to when the real invasion starts," he mocked the fleeing Russians. Suddenly, a red-and-blue blur intercepted the Insane warrior. Heat vision beams blasted the Insane warrior to ash. The Russians cheered as Karina flew around the basilica and helped to fix the damage to it.

In Detroit, #4 was intercepted by Spawn and chained up. "This is bullshit. I killed you. I'll do it again," the Insane warrior struggled.

"Bitch, please," Spawn said unimpressed and then dragged the Insane warrior to the ground with his giant cloak. The Insane warrior sank through the ground presumably to hell.

In Arizona, Sun Boy intercepted #5 in the desert and blasted the Insane warrior with fire. The Insane warrior casted off the flames off his uniform unimpressed. "You should be ashamed of how weak your flames are," #5 mocked.

In space, Brainiac 5 went after an Insane warrior with an energy cannon. He blasted #6 back towards the surface. "Shit, who is this guy?" #6 said stunned as he was hit with an energy beam.

In Metropolis, Kon engaged #7 in the streets punching him to the face giving him a nose bleed. "Stop fighting and tell me how you got here," Kon ordered him.

"You'll get no answers from me. I will never yield to you. It sickens me to look upon you, hybrid. I'll see your brains smeared across my knuckles before I bow to you," #7 replied as he punched Kon hard to the face.

Kon clapped his hands over #7's ears knocking him out. Close by, Elisa retreated away from #8 who was firing non-stop at her. Elisa created a shield between herself and #8. "I'm going to enjoy killing you," #8 said fiercely.

Kon took to the air to help her out.

Meanwhile, Mara confronted #9 in the air. "I don't want to kill you," she told him.

"You're going to have to earn the symbol on your chest," #9 taunted referring to her Supergirl uniform. Mara then went Super Insane in front of him. "I'll earn your Insane respect as well," she replied.

Kon struck #8 with his fist giving Elisa some relief. He then struck #8 again at super-sonic speed obliterating him on impact. "There are more of them up ahead," Kon said to Elisa.

"Hold my hand," Elisa offered.

Kon took her hand and then sped towards the remaining Insane warriors. "Sorry, I'm pulling your hand so hard," Kon said upon seeing Elisa's discomfort.

"It's okay. We have to be as fast as possible. Are you okay?" she asked upon seeing his serious expression.

"Not really. They're all like me. I can't help but feel like I'm seeing myself in them. I feel responsible for all of this," Kon said.

"It's not your fault for whatever your race does here on Earth or out in the universe. But I am surprised at you, Kon," Elisa said to him.

"How's that?" Kon asked confused.

"You're finally feeling the weight of responsibility," Elisa smiled.

In another city, #10 fought off several heroes at once. Lightning Lass, Karate Kid, and Ferro Lad beat on Insane warrior all at once. "This won't be enough. You can't hope to win this fight. This is your final battle. Enjoy it while it lasts," #10 said as he created an energy discharge around him that blasted the Vindicators back.

"Can we shut this guy up, already?" Lightning Lass asked losing patience.

"What the...?" #10 said as he exploded from the inside.

Shrinking Violet then appeared before them. "That was really gross," she said disgustedly. She suddenly shrank down and went back to normal to shake the blood and gore off her uniform.

An injured Chameleon Boy transformed into a troll monster, took hold of #11 by his jaw, and ripped his face apart killing him instantly. The two fell from a tall height and slammed into the ground. The remaining Insane warriors gathered in Metropolis for a final battle. Elisa materialized a rope around #12's neck to restrain him. "You think this will work? You think you can stop me? I'll murder you all," #12 spat at her and then fired on her. The beam hit Elisa in the leg several injuring her. She passed out on the ground bleeding out.

Kon swooped down, took hold of #12's head, and broke his neck. Kon looked around and saw the Vindicators competently fighting the Insane warriors. J'onn, M'gann, and Nia also entered the battle. Seeing Eliza's injury, Kon took her away from the battle towards the DEO.

"Just hang on," Kon said to the unconscious Elisa.

"Pathetic. You clowns call yourselves Vindicators? You're an embarrassment," #13 shouted as he beat them back.

A large fist came down upon him crushing him completely. Colossal Boy then went back to normal size and flicked the blood off his glove. #14 grabbed a hold of Sun Boy's neck to choke him out. "So, tell me how you're going to kill me, human?" #14 taunted.

Sun-Boy suddenly glowed as hot as the surface of the sun incinerating #14 on the spot. When the light and dust faded, Sun-Boy remained. Shadow Lass grabbed #15 and #16 with her shadows and strangled them to death with them.

DEO Fortress

At the DEO, Kon rushed Elisa to the infirmary. Brainiac 5 quickly placed a tourniquet on the leg and placed a healing ray on the gash. He then inserted a needle into her arm to give her a blood pack. "She'll survive," Brainiac 5 told him.

"I need to go back out there," Kon said ready to leave.

"There's no need. The Insane warriors have all been defeated," Brainiac 5 informed him.

"Any fatalities?" Kon asked.

"None on our side," Brainiac 5 said vaguely. "Congratulations, you successfully defended the planet for the first time."

Kon eyed the TV screens showing damage in every major city. "It's just the first wave," he realized.

"Yes," Brainiac 5 agreed.

"Look after her," Kon said to Brainiac 5 and then went back to Metropolis.

Metropolis

Upon arriving, Kon found Mara in charge of the relief efforts. Colossal Boy used his giant size and strength to clear the wreckage, Shrinking Violet went around small cracks in the debris to find people underneath, Chameleon Boy morphed into an alien dog to sniff out survivors, Ferro Lad strengthened the iron in buildings to keep them from collapsing further.

"How's Elisa?" Mara asked as Kon came up to her.

"She'll be fine," Kon said dismayed by the damage.

"We cannot escape who we are, Kon. We are Kryptonian and Insane and will always be fighting both," Mara told him.

"I don't think this is the end," Kon said grimly.

"Go back to Elisa. We got this," Mara assured him.

DEO Fortress

At the DEO, Kon sat next to Elisa's bed. "The clean-up is going well. The city is now ready for reconstruction. It's amazing when the Vindicators work together. It's inspiring," Kon said thoughtfully. "But I don't have anyone to talk to about this. These were my people. I can't ignore this guilt, can't escape it."

Elisa's parents were then invited inside the room. "Excuse us, we didn't know you were...," Elisa's mother said awkwardly.

"Nonsense. She's our daughter. Excuse me," Elisa's father said rudely.

"It's alright. I was just leaving," Kon said resisting the temptation to talk shit.

"Uhm...Kon, is it? You're the boyfriend, right?" Elisa's mother followed after him.

"Yeah," Kon confirmed. "I'm sorry for not introducing myself to you."

"No, it's okay. Elisa's father...he's not handling this well. I know you know she's a Violet Lantern. Adam never approved and we were always worried something like this would happen. This is our worst fear realized. You seem like a nice boy. I'm sorry he was so rude," Elisa's mother said. In truth, she was also terrified of Kon and his power.

"It's okay, really. If there is anything I can do for you and your husband, let me know," Kon said.

"That's very kind of you. The doctor said she'll be fine. Her injuries are not as severe as they could have been," Elisa's mother stammered.

Kon gave her a long sad look. "When this is all over, I'll break it off with Elisa. She deserves to go to college, have a career, live a normal life. I won't be around in this time for very long anyway. I'll persuade her to give up her ring. Is that what you'd like?" Kon asked her.

Her mother merely nodded. Kon felt an ache in his heart as he walked away.

General Lane entered a meeting with Brainiac 5, Kon, and Mara. "Without your mother and father, the world is largely undefended. We need to do something about that fast, damn it. That's why I'm here despite the past differences we have had together," Gen. Lane said passionately.

"The Vindicators performed admirably but if they were faced against Super Insane opponents, they would have all perished," Brainiac 5 calculated.

"We know there is a second Supergirl in Russia. She was the one that struck down the one that attacked Moscow," Gen. Lane revealed.

"She doesn't interfere outside Russia's sphere of influence," Mara said lamely.

"That's bullshit," Gen. Lane said pissed off. "She has the same power as the original?"

"Yep," Kon nodded.

"So...what the fuck?" Gen. Lane raged.

"Aunt Karina is as stubborn as my mother when it comes to her agenda," Mara said delicately.

"The Vindicator Corps. will be up and running shortly and there will be continuous sensor sweeps in case there is a second wave," Brainiac 5 said.

"Kon, you need to lead these Vindicators. I've seen you in action and you're not squeamish about killing," Gen. Lane pressed.

"With Elisa hurt, I'm kind of fucked up in the head, right now," Kon admitted.

"Shrinking Violet is the highest-ranked Vindicator present. She will lead the team," Brainiac 5 decided.

"I'm going back to help with the clean-up," Kon said walking off.

"He seems a bit moody," Mara said concernedly.

"I will do all I can to influence PATRIOT's cooperation in defense of the planet," Brainiac 5 assured Gen. Lane.

Metropolis

Kon went back to the city and scanned the rubble with his X-ray vision. Upon finding a body, he alerted emergency responders and lifted the concrete off her. "Got another body here," they said taking it away in a bag.

Kon sighed and rested his hand on a support beam. "Stand ready for my arrival, worm," an older muscular man in an Insane uniform said to him. Kon stared at Woden in disbelief. He had slowed down his approach and lowered his power level to near nothing to avoid being detected. Now, he was here. Woden smiled menacingly and then began to power up.

Author's Notes: This chapter is based loosely on the Invincible comic. All the Insane names are based on the days of the week. In the comics, the name "Mon-El" was created when he landed on Earth with amnesia not even knowing his own name. So, he assumed himself to be Kryptonian due to his powers giving himself the name El and Mon since he arrived on a Monday. Therefore, it would only make sense that there should be Insane warriors based on the other days of the week.
