At the desert DEO base, Kara was dressed in a black Supergirl uniform. At her side was Alex in her DEO science uniform. Behind them were DEO security forces composed of tanks, armored vehicles, and infantry. In the air were several attack helicopters hovering. They had an array of weaponry from typical conventional arms to Kryptonite to sonic weapons, some of which were actually designed by Kara, herself.
"Thank you," Kara said appreciatively to Alex.
"For what?" Alex asked confused.
"For believing in me," Kara said sincerely.
Alex looked away embarrassed. "You don't have to invite me onto the ship just to satisfy my curiosity."
"When I'm with my people, I will be tempted to think as they do, act as they do. You're a reminder for me to consider the interests of humanity and that makes you my conscience," Kara said to her.
"You always tell me how irrational and emotional I am," Alex pointed out.
"When faced with multiple logical conclusions, it can make the difference," Kara replied. The two heard a nearby sonic boom from the Kryptonian shuttle.
The Kryptonian ship was shaped similar to a black beetle. It settled on the ground in front of the DEO forces. The ship opened revealing a Kryptonian woman in black armor that covered her entire body. Her helmet became translucent as she approached Kara. She gave Kara a look of amusement. The last time they had seen each other, Kara was only a teenager, a child.
"Kara Zor-El, do you remember me?" she asked in Kryptonian.
"Sub-Commander Faora-Ur," Kara identified for Alex's benefit.
"On behalf of General Zod, I extend to you his greetings," Faora said politely and then eyed Alex with some suspicion.
"I request that this woman accompany me," Kara said to her.
"We're here only for you, Kara Zor-El," Faora replied.
"Then, I am unwilling to comply with the general's order," Kara said boldly.
"Is that what you wish for me to tell him?" Faora asked, on the verge of freaking out on her.
"What you tell the general is no concern of mine," Kara replied.
Faora and Kara stared each other down. "Very well," Faora said finally. "What are your name and your title?" she asked Alex in English.
"Dr. Alexandra Danvers," Alex replied.
Faora gave her a condescending look as if Alex's title was a joke to her. She turned back to the ship with Kara and Alex following. The Kryptonian beetle ship then took off into space. Inside the ship, Alex eyed the black architecture of the ship and the lack of lighting. Faora went up the stairs to the cockpit and then came back down with a breathing apparatus.
"The atmospheric composition of our ship is not compatible with humans. You will need to breathe with this beyond this point," Faora said and then placed it around Alex's neck forming a translucent helmet around her head.
The Kryptonian beetle ship then docked with the World Engine, General Zod's mothership. Making their way to the bridge, the architecture continued to be a consistent black. The bridge itself had a large window upon which the planet Earth and the sun could be seen together. The bridge also had a number of hologram control panels. Upon entering the bridge, Zod turned around and focused on Kara. With him were several rebel associates that included Astra and Non.
Kara gave Astra a glance as she walked towards Zod. "Kara Zor-El, you have no idea how long it took us to reach this world of yours," Zod said warmly.
"I imagine it wasn't easy nor convenient," Kara replied.
"You will address him as general, General Zod," Faora barked.
"It's alright, Faora, we can forgive Kara for any lapses in decorum. It's been so long that you must now be a stranger to Kryptonian ways. This should be a cause of celebration, not conflict," Zod said reasonably.
Kara felt her nose and noticed it was bleeding, the first time she had bled since arriving on Earth. "Problem?" Zod asked.
"It will run its course," Kara said dismissively and focused herself.
"Where is Kal-El?" Zod asked.
"He is with me," Kara replied. "How did you escape the Phantom Zone."
"The destruction of our world freed us. We were adrift, destined to float among the ruins of our planet until we starved," Zod explained.
"How did you find your way to Earth?" Kara asked.
"We managed to retrofit the phantom projector into a hyperdrive. Your father and uncle made a similar modification to the craft that brought you here and so the instrument of our damnation became our salvation," Zod said. "We sought out the old colonial outposts looking for signs of life but all we found was death. Cut off from Krypton, these outposts whithered and died long ago. We salvaged what we could, armor, weapons, even a world engine. For years, we prepared until, finally, we detected a distress beacon from your ship which you triggered."
Kara gave nothing away as Zod continued. "You led us here, Kara. And now, it is within your power to save what remains of your race. Your uncle stole the codex and placed it in the pod that brought his son here."
"For what purpose?" Kara asked already knowing the answer.
"So, Krypton can live again on Earth," Zod said ambitiously. "Where is the Codex, Kara?"
Kara turned to Alex and then back to Zod. "I've come to bargain."
"What?" Faora snapped outraged.
"What do you want, Kara?" Zod asked patiently.
"In return for the Codex, I'll assist to make the world engine operational on another planet in this system. On the second planet of this system, you will experience even greater yellow sun radiation," Kara offered.
"The second planet in this system is hostile to life even with our newfound powers. The world engine will not be able to bear the heat and pressure of its surface," Zod judged.
"With my scientific engineering background, I will make it work. In the meantime, you and your crew can live peacefully with the humans," Kara suggested.
"We should interrogate her and force the Codex from her," Faora argued.
"You'll never find it and the humans have weapons that can destroy your world engines. In addition, I have lived on this planet for many years. If you make a move against the humans, it will be war," Kara said calmly.
"So, you would side with the humans over us?" Zod questioned.
"I seek peaceful coexistence," Kara said simply.
"Peaceful coexistence is impossible so long as these humans destroy their own environment," Astra brought up.
Kara turned to her. "If what you say is true, let them. When they're finished, we will terraform the Earth to our liking," Kara said.
"And how long are we to wait for that?" Zod asked skeptically.
"As long as it takes," Kara replied. "Kal-El has lived his entire life with the humans. He has grown attached to them and, as his guardian, I will not take them away from him."
"The Codex is, no doubt, in the boy, the son of Jor-El," Jax surmised.
"Knowing my niece, she has already extracted the Codex from the boy. We cannot risk losing it forever. There are too few of us," Astra said.
Kara said nothing to that giving nothing away. Zod gave Kara a frustrated look but considered his position. "You will help us terraform the second planet in this solar system, assist us in adapting to life on Earth, and serve the interests of New Krypton. In return, we will not interfere with the humans."
"Agreed," Kara replied.
"Now...kneel before Zod," Zod ordered.
Kara sighed, gave Alex a look, and then gave Zod a slow kneel of submission.
Present Day
At the Hall of Justice, Barry and Jefferson aka Black Lightning met up in uniform. "Injustice protocol? The fuck did I just hear?" Jefferson asked in disbelief.
"That's right," Barry confirmed.
"Those protocols are a one-way trip as in it could mean death," Jefferson warned.
"I know that!" Barry freaked out on him.
"Alright, alright, chill the fuck out. Just take a deep breath and explain your ass," Jefferson told him.
"In the last 24 hours, I've lost my job, my home base, I've staring having blackouts, I destroyed my apartment with super speed, I attacked my family, my friends. Jefferson, I attacked innocent people and I don't remember doing it. I'm out of control!" Barry said obviously.
"Easy there. It sounds like you've been having a blast. Don't worry about it. There's nothing you can do that can't be undone," Jefferson assured him.
"I'm losing my mind!" Barry shouted.
"Shit, I lost my mind four seasons ago," Jefferson said wide-eyed. "I mean, look at how I dress? I risk the lives of all my family members and they all have lethal as fuck powers. I am the worst dad on the planet."
"Look, you know the contingency plan. The Injustice Protocols were put into place for a reason, to protect the world when one of us goes rogue," Barry reminded him.
"I don't remember signing shit. I know for a damn fact Supergirl didn't sign it," Jefferson recalled.
"It's happening, Jefferson. You have to take away my powers," Barry said.
"Maybe we should call the others and get a third, fourth, and fifth opinion," Jefferson said reasonably.
"No, we don't have time. If anyone ever lost control, a designated teammate would step in. For me, that's you," Barry said.
"I don't remember signing that shit either. It does explain why Kara had her designee be Sara," Jefferson considered. "What if this shit is all temporary? You really want to bathe in some chemicals and get struck by lightning again?"
"I shouldn't have powers, period. My mind is fucked up and it's only going to get worse," Barry said pessimistically.
"How can you know that for sure? You're being a drama queen," Jefferson scolded.
"I forgot Joe died," Barry admitted.
"Holy shit," Jefferson realized. "Wait, who's Joe?"
"He's the man who raised me, he passed away six months ago and I can't remember it at all," Barry said distressed.
"Oh, that guy. Passed away as in he got hit by a fucking train, God damn," Jefferson recalled.
"Look, I know you have questions but I'm losing myself. You took an oath that if I ever said 'injustice' you would listen," Barry pleaded.
"Must have been off-screen or some shit," Jefferson muttered. "Look, you forgot about your dad dying and I totally forgot about this injustice protocol. It happens, man."
"Please, we have to do this now," Barry insisted.
"And how am I supposed to take away your powers?" Jefferson asked confused.
"By zapping me really really hard," Barry said vaguely.
"You fucking serious?" Jefferson asked giving him an odd look.
The DEO marched into STAR Lab and took up shop. "Radiation levels are good," Alex reported from the computer. Kara used her X-ray vision to see through the holograms that shielded the Flash lab from view. Opening a panel, Kara began ripping out the circuitry deactivating the holograms. Kara toured through the Flash lab and all of its equipment with some curiosity. As she finished her tour, she couldn't help but smile as if the lab reminded her of a child's classroom on Krypton. Upon reaching the Gideon room, Kara went to work to create a new control panel that would be compatible with her key. With her bare hands, she ripped the already existing control panel apart and then used her super-speed to reengineer it.
As Kara worked, Alex came in. "Director Henshaw wants the Flash's location immediately," she said urgently.
"He could be anywhere," Kara considered.
"Exactly. I told him it was impossible," Alex sighed.
Kara took out her Kryptonian key. "Perhaps not."
Flashback
On the world engine in Earth's orbit, Kara had a chat with Astra. "Your mother sentenced me to the Phantom Zone for trying to save our people. I fear the same policies that caused Krypton's destruction is happening on Earth. Myriad is the answer, the only answer to saving this world," Astra said passionately.
"Why does Earth concern you?" Kara asked.
"Some of us do not believe you can engineer the world engine to tolerate the conditions on the second planet and it's too risky to colonize the fourth planet with the Martians already present. We must make Earth our home," Astra said.
"Let the humans destroy their world. We will remain even when they're gone," Kara suggested.
"By then, this planet will not be able to support the children of Krypton. It will be a barren wasteland," Astra argued.
"I still have hope for the humans," Kara said flatly.
"The humans have already failed. They pollute their skies, their oceans, their lands. Countless animal species are on the verge of extinction. The icecaps are melting and the seas are rising. They have even tested primitive nuclear weapons on their own surface," Astra listed.
"Who would control the human race through Myriad? You?" Kara asked.
"If you don't believe in me, believe in yourself. Use Myriad yourself," Astra suggested.
"My mother believed in free will and that is why she sent you to the Phantom Zone. I will not dishonor her memory by using Myriad against the humans. Should you attempt to use Myriad against the humans, I will fight you," Kara told her.
"You are strong-willed, little one, but when you see this planet's ecosystem die, you will come to realize I am right," Astra said passionately.
"When and if," Kara agreed.
End Flashback
Kara stared off into space in deep reflection in the command center. "Hey, I found something interesting about Joe West's death. He was Barry Allen's adopted father," Alex said showing the video footage of his death.
Kara eyed the screen and noticed a slight glitch at the moment Joe was killed. "Where are the missing frames?"
"Exactly," Alex agreed and then made a phone call to the train station security office. After a brief conversation, Alex hung up. "Apparently, the train stations' security upload system is on the same power grid as the Shark's Stadium. At the time Joe West died, there was a game. So, their automatic CCTV upload got interrupted and some of the data is missing."
"That's a serious design flaw," Kara judged.
"Right?" Alex agreed. "I've asked them to send over their backup local files and now we have them."
Kara and Alex eyed the video and saw the missing frames clearly showing Joe West died as a result of a pure accident. "Sorry, I wasted your time. There's nothing here," Alex admitted.
Kara sat down and rapidly typed into the computer to hack into the Central City's train station surveillance system. She then eyed the screen as it quickly went through the entire day. Kara stopped upon seeing Iris and Allegra arriving on the scene and looking around. "They'll find nothing as well," Alex predicted.
"Unless they have access to information we don't have," Kara considered. "They could lead us to the Flash."
For the last couple of hours, Jefferson waited patiently for Barry to get done with some high-tech circuitry. "Bored as fuck," Jefferson muttered looking around.
"Damn it. I can't get this last conduit," Barry said frustrated.
"Can I go home now?" Jefferson asked.
"What am I missing?" Barry wondered.
"How about you put on some sweet sexy jazz," Jefferson suggested.
"You got a song in mind?" Barry asked.
Jefferson went over to his computer and played a Youtube video. "Two tablespoons of cinnamon. And 2 or 3 egg whites. A half a stick of butter. Melt it."
Barry gave Jefferson an odd look. "I grew up on this stuff," Jefferson explained. "Stick it all in a bowl, baby. Stir it with a wooden spoon. Mix in a cup of flour, You'll be in Heaven soon."
"Impressive," Barry complimented the music and went back to work. "Joe had the same musical tastes. This would have been his favorite."
"Say everybody, have you seen my balls? They're big and salty and brown! If you ever need 'em quick, Pick me up...," the music continued.
"Yeah, I lost someone a while back: Bill Henderson. He was a cop like your old man. We had our ups and downs but through it all, he was my best friend. My brother. Bill died so I could get home to Atlanta. Yeah, he made that sacrifice," Jefferson said reflectively.
"Just stick my balls in your mouth!"
"You know, if Joe was here, I think he'd call you a bitch, betraying your eight long years of kicking ass. You have no idea who or what will fill in the gap if you're gone," Jefferson said foreshadowing the Kryptonians. "Instead of taking away your powers, how about you be put into an induced coma, high-tech cell, or take you to another universe until we figure this out?"
"Suck on my chocolate salty balls. Stick 'em in your mouth and suck 'em. Suck on my chocolate salty balls. They're packed full of vitamins and good for you. So suck on my balls!"
Barry paused deep in reflection. "You okay?" Jefferson asked.
"Yeah, that was the last conduit. Now, when your suit materializes, you'll be able to generate enough voltage to disrupt my speed-force connection," Barry said handing the device over to Jefferson.
"Say everybody, have you seen my balls? They're big and salty and brown! If you ever need 'em quick, pick me up. Just stick my balls in your mouth!"
"Kind of implies I couldn't have disrupted your speed force before," Jefferson frowned as he incorporated the device into his suit.
"Suck on my chocolate salty balls. Put 'em in your mouth and suck 'em. Suck on my chocolate salty balls. They're packed full of goodness. High in fiber! Suck on my balls."
"That's right," Barry confirmed and turned off the music.
"Just for that, I'm going to blow this fuse," Jefferson said offended.
"I'm ready," Barry said taking a stance a good distance away from Jefferson that could lead to more unfocused discharges.
"I know you're going to like this," Jefferson said shaking his head. "I'm just going to have to like it even more," he said and then shocked Barry as hard as he could.
At STAR Lab, Kara was about to place her Kryptonite key into the hologram program when Alex interrupted her. "The day Joe West died, the Red Line was running early. This never happens. The trains are always late," Alex said.
Kara gave her an impatient look not impressed. "Anything else?"
"The train that hit Joe West passed a routine inspection two days before the accident yet somehow the hydraulics failed," Alex said.
"Forgive me if I don't take these inspections seriously," Kara doubted.
"There's more. Throughout the city, there were dozens of accidents all happening at the same exact time. Too perfectly," Alex said handing her a tablet with all the events.
Kara read the tablet detailing the reports. "What is your hypothesis, doctor?"
"Some kind of force caused all of these accidents to happen all at the same time," Alex theorized.
"The butterfly effect. One change to the timeline has a ripple effect," Kara considered.
"We don't have the technology or the ability to detect temporal distortions," Alex said.
"No...but perhaps someone else does," Kara said and then went to the DEO commander in the command center. "We need Iris West-Allen under surveillance."
The DEO commander found her back at the train station. "So...she went back," Kara said intrigued.
"What is this all about?" the DEO commander asked.
"Continue to watch her. I must make contact with the Council," Kara said and then left to go back to the hologram room.
In her Supergirl uniform, Kara entered the hologram room that used to host Gideon and took a knee before the Kryptonian Council composed of Zod, Faora, Astra, Non, and Jax. "There is a great disturbance in the timeline," Kara told them.
"Are you sure?" Zod asked skeptically.
"I have detected it," Kara insisted.
"Strange that we have not," Jax doubted.
"Let her continue," Astra allowed.
"We have a new enemy. I have no doubt it is connected to Barry Allen," Kara said.
"He could destroy us," Non remarked referring to Barry.
"He's just a boy. Joe West can no longer help him," Kara replied.
"The Speed-Force is strong with him," Non insisted. "No human should be allowed to surpass our speed."
"He could be a great asset to us," Kara suggested.
"Can it be done?" Zod asked skeptically.
"He will join us or die," Kara concluded. The holograms of the Council faded away except for Astra.
"What is it, young one?" Astra asked her.
"I concede that Myriad is our only option," Kara said to her.
"Finally," Astra smiled.
After a good hour of being shocked repeatedly, Jefferson finally let off. Barry fell to a knee smoking. "I think I might have actually increased my power instead of taking it away," Barry considered.
"Maybe we should take a break," Jefferson suggested.
"No, we have to finish before Superman finds me. He wants to kill me to save the future," Barry revealed.
"Probably should have mentioned that in the beginning," Jefferson said dismayed.
"This Superman is from the future. He says that ten years from now, I'm going to destroy the world," Barry said dramatically.
"Maybe he was lying," Jefferson rolled his eyes.
"Wait...what?" Barry wondered.
"You remember what went down during Crisis? These Kryptonians are liars and assholes. How many times have you been punked by one of them?" Jefferson asked him.
"He sounded really genuine," Barry said confused.
"No fate but what we make, Barry. You can change your future," Jefferson told him.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Barry insisted. "If I get rid of my speed, I can prevent Superman's future from happening."
"And what is Superman going to do if you don't?" Jefferson asked.
"He's going to kill me," Barry said.
"Superman couldn't hurt a fly," Jefferson doubted.
"He's not the Superman from Earth-38. He landed here on this Earth and he means business," Barry said fearfully.
"How about we take his bitch-ass down," Jefferson suggested.
"I knew you would say that so I didn't tell you," Barry admitted. "I need you to follow the Injustice Protocols. I am not acting out of fear."
"Kind of sounds like you are," Jefferson chided.
"I'm trying to do the right thing," Barry said pathetically.
"Stop taking yourself so damn seriously. If you fuck up, you do what Kara does which is erase the timeline and start over again. Have you ever considered the possibility that this Superman was lying or maybe someone is framing you?" Jefferson asked him.
"But what about the last few days? I'm hurting people," Barry pointed out.
"Dude, you've been doing that very thing for the last eight years. If you had quit the moment you made a wrong turn, you wouldn't have even started," Jefferson said dismissively.
"But what if I'm the bad guy, this time?" Barry asked.
"You say you destroy the world ten years from now? Where are the other Super-Friends? Where is Supergirl, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Batwoman, and Sara during all of this?" Jefferson asked.
"Maybe...maybe, in the future, I'm so powerful that not even the Super-Friends could stop me," Barry considered.
"You wish," Jefferson scoffed. "I could kick your ass right now if I wanted to."
"I'm a liability!" Barry shouted.
"You always were a liability, Barry," Jefferson reminded him.
"This is the only way to save the world, to save my family, to save your family as well," Barry said passionately as Jefferson walked away.
"I've assessed the situation and I'm leaving," Jefferson said dismissively.
"I'm trying to save the world...from myself and you're not even listening," Barry pouted as he threw electrical energy at Jefferson. Jefferson easily rotated the electrical energy around himself and back at Barry stunning him on the floor.
"Really? Firing electrical energy at someone like me?" Jefferson rolled his eyes.
"Look at what I did! The damage I can cause!" Barry shouted.
"Bitch, please," Jefferson laughed.
"You made a promise to keep this world safe!" Barry shouted and then spun around Jefferson non-stop.
"This shit again," Jefferson rolled his eyes and then blasted the whole area with electrical energy forcing Barry out of his loop where he skidded onto the floor.
"Fine, you want to ignore the protocols. Try to imagine millions dead because of me," Barry said filled with self-pity.
"I'm trying to imagine it, I'm failing, and I'm sorry for that," Jefferson admitted as he shocked Barry to the floor. "How about we stop this epic beat down. It's getting really sad."
"Do you remember why we called the plan, 'Injustice'?" Barry asked.
"Nope," Jefferson replied.
"Because if one of us goes rogue, the world doesn't stand a chance," Barry said as he took Jefferson's hand and sped him around the hall crashing into random objects. Jefferson blasted Barry as he was being sped about. The two lost control and crashed into the holiest of holy cases in the room, the Green Arrow costume and bow's display case.
At STAR Labs, Kara, Alex, and the rest of the DEO placed psychic inhibitors on their ears. "We set?" the DEO commander asked his squad leaders.
"Set!" they shouted in unison.
Kara gave the DEO commander a nod. The two of them placed keys in the Myriad machine and activated the particle accelerator to give them a boost to the signal. "Rotate and lock," the DEO commander said to Kara. The two rotated their keys and locked them into place at the same time.
With Myriad now online, it began to compile data on every human mind in Central City and their location. Within seconds, Barry and Jefferson were found at the Hall of Justice, a location the DEO had not been aware of until now. "I have him," Kara said as her eyes scanned hundreds of human images per second.
"Let's move," the DEO commander said to his squad leaders.
Kara deactivated Myriad and sighed disturbed by the notion that she had betrayed her mother's judgment. "What's wrong?" Alex asked upon seeing her face.
"I've committed a sin," Kara said distressed.
"It was just a minute," Alex shrugged.
"Irrelevant. I need some time alone," Kara said and then exited the command center.
At the Hall of Justice, Barry looked around and noticed the Green Arrow costume and bow on the floor. "Oliver is going to be so pissed with me," he realized.
Jefferson groaned from the extreme whiplash. "Do you know what kind of man Oliver is? He's a dick. Do you know what kind of man you are, Barry? A pussy. Now, sometimes Oliver fucks too much or fucks when it's not appropriate and it takes someone like you to tell him that. But dicks also fuck assholes, Barry. And if you don't stay in this fight, we're all going to be covered in shit. Barry, you're the best of us...well...your powers are the best of us. God knows we would all have been better off if Oliver kept your powers and you took up archery but that's neither here nor there."
Barry simply stared at Jefferson as he took all of this in. "There's an asshole out there that killed your father and is framing you. He's also probably making sweet love to your wife in the future. How does that make you feel, Barry?" Jefferson asked.
"Sad...I guess," Barry admitted.
"Damn it, man. Get mad!" Jefferson scolded him.
"Jefferson, I'm so sorry," Barry said tearfully upon realizing how totally wrong he was.
"You going to cry on me, Barry? For fuck's sake," Jefferson said dismayed as he stood over Barry. "You want forgiveness? You can start by crawling over to me and sucking my black johnson for as long as you can. I can see it now. You sucking as hard as you can, me laughing," Jefferson laughed maniacally.
"It's the least I can do to make amends to you and your people," Barry said ready to do it and Jefferson unbuckling his utility belt.
"Now, you finally understand," Jefferson smiled. "You're going to do everything I ask. I mean, everything."
Suddenly, Superman punched Jefferson in the face sending him to the floor. Superman then took Barry by the throat as he stood up and kept him still. "I told you, Flash, if I found any trace of your dark nature, I would kill you," Superman said to him and then forced Barry back to his knees.
"Leave him alone. He's innocent," Iris said with Deon at her side. "Someone changed the timeline to kill my father and make Barry look insane."
"Lies," Superman doubted.
Superman went to snap Barry's neck when he was hit hard with an electrical surge from Jefferson. Superman backed away from Jefferson as he was shocked. "Hurry! I hold him off," Jefferson said to Iris and Deon.
Superman moved to cut them off when Jefferson fired electrical binds pinning his arms to his waist and keeping him still. Superman resisted the electrical energy and moved closer to Jefferson. "I can't hold him off much longer," Jefferson told the group as they casually chatted about the situation.
Superman shattered the electrical binds around his arms just as Barry sped into a portal to 2031 using Deon's still-force isotopes. "You just...killed this world," Superman said devastated.
The DEO soon arrived in full force. Superman sped away as they entered the Hall of Justice and surrounded Jefferson, Iris, and Deon. "I can explain," Iris said to them.
"You will," the DEO commander confirmed.
At STAR Labs, Kara knelt in prayer in the chapel with candles all around her. With her eyes, she focused on Rao and saw a vision of an eye with flames all around it.
"Forgive me for I have sinned against the memory of my mother," Kara prayed.
"You cannot sin against the memory of the living," Rao said to her.
Kara stared wide-eyed as she realized her mother was still alive. "How can this be?"
"In me, all things are possible. She lives still," Rao revealed to her.
"All thanks and praise to you," Kara said gratefully raising her hands up.
"Keep secret this knowledge I have given you," Rao ordered.
"As you say," Kara promised.
"With my help and guidance, you will make the second planet in this system a paradise for your people. But you will live and die on this world for you have broke faith with me. You did not uphold my holiness to your cousin who you were put in charge of. Therefore, you shall see the land of your people from a distance but shall never enter it," Rao said to her.
Kara bowed her head and wiped away a single tear. "Forgive me, My Lord, My God."
"My child, you are forgiven but my edict remains," Rao replied to her.
"So be it," Kara said and then lay prostrate on the floor where she wept freely.

This episode becomes unnecessary had Barry informed his friends of where he was or if his friends had decided to give him privacy to avoid Despero the ability to track him down. Everything the heroes did made it easier for Despero to track down Barry and kill him. At this point, Team Flash should have lured Despero into a trap and then killed him. Then, Flash can figure out the particulars of the future. Evil prevails when good is dumb.
