Central City 2031

An assortment of random heroes showed up at the Robern's for a wedding reception. "Why is it so complicated deciding how to make a baby?" Kate asked Iris.

"As an authority on the subject, I'm here to tell you that to create a baby you're going to need some sperm at some point," Iris said obviously.

"I don't know if I can put Sophie through nine months of indigestion and swollen ankles," Kate said concernedly.

"Just promise you'll do it the next time and then not do it," Iris advised.

"Absolutely. The Batsuit really isn't baby proof," Kate agreed.

"You are spiraling. Do you remember what I told you when I was your maid of honor?" Iris asked.

"That you were Jewish...which was a lie," Kate said peeved.

"I told you to stop thinking so much and listen to your heart. If you want to have a baby, your heart will figure out the how," Iris said vaguely.

"My heart tells me to use Bruce Wayne's sperm and name the kid Terry," Kate said resolved.

"And then they grow up and decide they hate you and start talking shit about you," Cecile said bitterly while carrying a bottle of champagne in her hand that she intended to finish on her own. "Teenagers are the...,"

"Don't use the non-binary bathroom," Allegra interrupted. "It's been occupied for the last thirty minutes."

"It's Caitlin and Mark having sex, isn't it?" Iris assumed.

"Allegra! So..how was London?" Chester asked awkwardly.

"Fine ever since 007 became a black woman," Allegra said.

"That sounds...blasphemous," Chester frowned.

"Nope," Allegra insisted. "I might be moving back to the states. I got a job offer in Gotham."

"For the love of God, turn it down," Kate warned.

"That's great," Iris said obliviously.

"I haven't decided if I'm going to take it or not," Allegra admitted.

"Don't do it, girl," Kate shook her head.

Eobard Thawne then tapped his glass to get everyone's attention. "If I could have everyone's attention for a minute; when you find the love of your life you become a part of something greater," he said as he pulled Iris to the stage. "Part of something wonderful, magical, beautiful, and frankly surprising because you never know what face fate will be wearing when she knocks on your door and changes your life forever. And my only wish for you is that when that face shows up, to change your lives, it will be as beautiful as the one standing next to me. To Iris West, the love of my life," Eobard toasted.

Barry then showed up looking visibly confused. "What the hell is he doing here?" Kate asked outraged.

"You have a lot of nerve showing up here, Allen, after what you pulled," Eobard scolded.

"It's been you this whole time," Barry realized. "Superman, Armageddon, Joe."

"Barry, that was ten years ago. Water under the bridge," Eobard said nonchalantly.

"Iris, you are my wife," Barry said to her.

Iris turned away distressed. "We all fought Thawne together," Barry pointed out.

"Barry, that was ten years ago. I've changed. I'm a new man. You disappeared ten years ago and never returned. I did what I could to pick up the pieces and I have kept this world safe ever since," Eobard said.

"What did you do?" Barry asked stunned.

"Barry, you're not the Flash anymore," Eobard told him. "I am."

Barry stared at his former friends. "You're just going to ignore all of his crimes and misdeeds and allow him to take over my legacy?" he asked them.

"Barry, we needed a Flash. You were gone," Cecile said.

"And you all let them fall in love? Iris, how could you marry my arch-nemesis? Could you have waited? This is so fucked up. How could this even happen?" Barry said sobbingly in front of them all.

"I'm really sorry you all have to see this," Iris said embarrassed.

"Team Flash: Suit up. Let's show Barry, here, what happens to wedding crashers," Eobard ordered.

Instantly, all the heroes suited up with nano-machine suits. Barry likewise became the Flash with his ring. Eobard, as the Flash, blasted Barry across the room where he slammed into the wall and destroyed the gift table. "Guys, Thawne is tricking you," Barry said to them as he got back up.

"Save it, Allen," Iris said as she pointed her laser rifle at him.

"Put him down," Eobard ordered as he powered up and fired at Barry. It barely missed Barry and hit the wall behind him. Barry fired his own surge back at Eobard who simply moved out of the way.

Barry raced towards Eobard and gave him a solid uppercut. Alex fired a paralyzing beam on Barry to keep him still while Batwoman punched and kicked Barry several times in a row. Barry was on the floor devastated. Allegra then blasted Barry across the floor. "Wow, that was super-easy, barely an inconvenience. We didn't even need to call in the Kryptonians," Eobard remarked.

Barry, realizing he was outmatched, sped towards Iris and took her away. "Well...shit," Eobard muttered and then sped after them.

Barry took Iris to their old apartment. "Get away from me," Iris said freaked out.

"Eobard isn't the Flash. You have to believe me. I'm the Flash," Barry beseeched her. "He must have changed the timeline. You are my wife. This is our home, our loft. We even have kids."

"Stop, stop!" Iris ordered him.

"You have to remember. I'm your lighting rod," Barry told her.

"I know, Barry. No one changed the timeline. I simply moved on. You disappeared in 2021 and didn't come back. What was I supposed to do? Wait ten years for you?"

"Did you have to shack up with my arch-nemesis?" Barry asked incredulously.

"He's changed, Barry," Iris insisted.

"He killed your dad," Barry pointed out.

"Forgive and forget," Iris said simply.

"What's really going on here?" Barry demanded.

"Eobard is strong, smart, and dedicated. He's extremely fast in the bedroom," Iris said.

"I'm extremely fast in the bedroom!" Barry shouted at her.

"Yeah, in getting yourself off," Iris burned.

"I'm going to go back in time and fix this," Barry pledged.

"I have a life here, Barry. I'm happy with my new husband and we've done a lot of great things over the last ten years with you gone," Iris said.

"I don't give a damn," Barry shook his head.

"You're psychotic," Iris told him off.

Suddenly, Eobard whisked Barry away out of the apartment and to some random warehouse. Eobard slammed Barry's face into a container. "I'm Iris West's lightning rod now," Eobard told him.

"You killed Joe, you attacked those people using my face, and you tried to make me think I was insane so I would go forward in time," Barry accused.

"After our last encounter, it was obvious you were faster than I was and the only way to defeat you was to send you off on some wild-goose chase. And like the do-gooder that you are, you took the bait. You begged Jefferson Pierce to take away your speed. Now, I'm faster," Eobard revealed. "Now, I am the Flash, I'm the one married to Iris West, and I lead Team Flash. I stole your life."

"What you're doing here destroys the world," Barry said. "It creates Armageddon."

"As a matter of fact, you'll be the one creating Armageddon. Well, we both will. When you try to go back in time, I'll be right behind you. The chase through space and time will destroy the world," Eobard said knowingly. "To save the world, I should kill you."

Barry punched at Eobard missing completely. "You can do that all night long but the fact remains is that I'm faster than you now," Eobard mocked. "I won! Get over it!" he said and then blasted Barry to the floor.

Eobard went to kill an unconscious Barry but then stopped himself. "I can't," he said as his conscience got the better of him. Instead, he walked off like a boss.

Barry awoke not long afterward, changed into civilian clothes, and headed over to the CCJitters. There, he met up with Alex. "Barry Allen, I was wondering when you would come back. Rough night?" Alex asked knowingly.

"I need your help, Alex," Barry said desperately.

"What you got is a tragic tale, Barry. You need to forget about Iris and move on. You're still young," Alex advised.

"We need to take Thawne down," Barry said passionately. "If I try to go back in time, he'll create Armageddon to stop me."

"Holy shit," Alex said stunned. "Look, I love my life. I really do. I live in a mansion, I get to work on whatever science research I want, and I've really made a name for myself."

"But?" Barry sensed.

"My life's been a little empty since she left," Alex said sadly.

"She?" Barry asked.

"Kara Zor-El, this Kryptonian I was working with ten years ago," Alex said.

Barry stared at Alex with a haunted expression. "Shortly after you left, she and her people left Earth for Venus. She occasionally visits but it's not the same," Alex said. "So, if you can restart the timeline from ten years ago and then tell my younger self what happened, I might be able to persuade Kara to stay on Earth with me."

"This Kryptonian you have been working with, what is she like?" Barry asked not wanting a repeat of Kara-38.

"She's boring, has a really dry sense of humor, and is always busy. There's a sadness about her. That's why it's so amazing when I tell a joke and she cracks a smile," Alex recalled fondly. "I've never met someone so dedicated to their work to help others. It motivated us all."

"Deal," Barry said quickly.

"We'll need the PED," Alex said.

"The PED?" Barry questioned.

"Particle Eradicator Distributor," Alex explained. "If we get the PED turned on, it could give you the power you need to beat Thawne's speed so you can go back in time without causing Armageddon."

"So, this could work," Barry said brightly.

"The PED is at STAR Labs," Alex said flatly.

"Well...shit," Barry sighed.

At STAR Labs, Alex arrived for the meeting. Eobard was in his Flash uniform looking extremely irritable. "Batwoman, Frost, and Chillblaine are out looking for Barry but there's no sign of him," Caitlin reported in.

"And I can't sense him anywhere. It's like he magically disappeared," Cecile admitted.

"Try harder," Eobard said frustrated.

"Cecile, we know you're doing your best," Iris reassured her.

"Yes, of course, you are," Eobard said realizing he was being an ass.

"What's like up with him anyway?" Allegra asked. "Has he gone crazy? He thinks he can just come back after ten years as nothing happened."

"He's an idiot. There's no way to explain a mind like his," Eobard said snidely. "Chester, what's our deal with the satellites?"

"Barry is on limited speed. Less speed means lower tachyon output," Chester said.

"Making him harder to track," Alex said obviously.

"Go to your respective stations and prepare for anything. If Barry is successful in going back in time, everything we have built and achieved together is gone," Eobard reminded them.

Alex and Allegra walked down the halls. "What's up with you and Chester?" Alex asked conversationally.

"Nothing," Allegra said defensively. "Why?"

"The stolen glances, the nervous energy, you've either hooked up, are hooking up, or will hook up," Alex predicted.

"Okay, we did once but it was ten years ago and it went nowhere," Allegra said.

"Once you go black, you don't go back," Alex said knowingly.

"It didn't get that far. We were just flirting for months and one night we were playing D&D and...that's it," Allegra said lamely. "I thought something would come of it but it turns out he just wanted someone to play D&D with. So, I told him it would be best if we just stayed friends."

"That is so lame," Alex said stunned.

"I know, right?" Allegra agreed.

"Well, we'll have to talk about this later because I'm in the middle of a coup here," Alex said pulling out a laser pistol.

"Wait...what?" Allegra wondered.

Alex fired stunning Allegra to the floor.

In the lab, Alex went up to Chester. "Why didn't you shack up with Allegra?" she asked accusingly.

"The fuck?" Chester wondered.

"Ten years ago, you and Allegra played D&D and that's it," Alex said rolling her eyes.

"Is there something wrong with that?" Chester asked confused.

"Yeah, you're supposed to sleep with her and stick around the next morning," Alex scolded.

"Some of us actually have morals," Chester said defensively.

"So, you slept together in the same bed and did nothing?" Alex asked incredulously.

"Yeah," Chester shrugged.

"And what did you do in the morning?" Alex questioned.

"I got some coffee and muffins, wanted to be back before the sun came up, had the whole day planned for more D&D. When I came back, she was gone," Chester recalled.

"Don't you think she may have interpreted that to mean you ghosted her?" Alex asked.

"I was literally gone fifteen minutes," Chester said dumbfounded.

"Why didn't you tell her how you felt?" Alex asked.

"She cut me out. Called me a nerd," Chester said heartbroken.

"Well...have you found Barry Allen, yet?" Alex asked wanting to change the subject.

"Yeah...he's...in this room," Chester said amazed.

Alex pulled out her pistol and stunned him to the floor as Barry instantly appeared as the Flash. "The PED is in the pinball machine," Alex pointed out.

Barry opened the pinball machine and found the device. "Is this it?" he asked.

"Yeah, we make a good team, don't we?" Alex smiled.

The two of them were suddenly hit with Cecile's telepathic powers enhanced by the mask she was wearing. Alex activated the psychic inhibitors in her ears, focused on Cecile, and fired her pistol dropping her. "Let's go," Alex said to Barry.

Instantly, Barry and Alex were at the Lord's mansion. "Defeating Team Flash was super-easy, barely an inconvenience," Alex noted.

"You got skills, Alex. You could be a trained soldier if you wanted to," Barry told her.

"Alistair once thought as you do," Alex said mournfully at a photograph of her, Maxwell, and her late son.

"What happened?" Barry asked as she saw Alex cry.

"A disgruntled employee blew himself up on one of Max's trains. My son was on that train," Alex said taking a seat on the couch.

"I am so sorry, Alex," Barry said sympathetically.

"What I would give to stop it from happening. If you go back to the past, you must warn my younger self," Alex said seriously.

"I will," Barry promised.

"Let's get back to work," Alex said wiping away her tears.

Barry worked on a drawing board with all sorts of equations. "According to this sci-fi bullshit, I have to hit Mach 20 to open a time portal," Barry concluded.

"Is that a problem?" Alex asked.

"To reach that kind of speed, I need a 40,000-mile runway," Barry said.

"Wow, Kara never had this kind of trouble getting that fast," Alex muttered.

"Wait...what?" Barry wondered.

"Nothing. Just speed across the Earth's equator," Alex suggested.

"If I do that, it will put pressure on the Earth's mantle causing earthquakes, tsunamis, erupting volcanos, melting ice-caps and it would basically be...," Barry considered.

"Armageddon," Alex finished for him.

"To go back in time and fix everything, I would be risking destroying the world...like Superman said I would," Barry realized.

"Look, this isn't a really secret location. Thawne will eventually find us here," Alex warned as Barry looked out the window. "You have to do this."

"Look, I want my life back more than anything but I've run the numbers. I'll have two minutes to accelerate before I destroy the world," Barry said.

"Then...run fast," Alex said obviously.

"The odds of me reaching Mach 20 in two minutes is two percent," Barry said skeptically.

"It's better than nothing," Alex shrugged.

"You don't understand. Superman says I cause Armageddon. This is exactly as he described. I won't be responsible for killing everyone on the planet," Barry said defeated.

"You give up, Thawne gets everything," Alex told him.

"I'm not fast enough," Barry said.

"This is beyond physics. What about love? Your love for Iris, my love for my son. I don't want to die but if sacrificing my life brings back Alistair, I'm going to do it. My love for him keeps me going every damn day of my life," Alex said passionately. "You know, Thawne rejected the possibility of time travel to warn my younger self. So, I waited, hoping you would come back one day. Now that you're here, you can't fail me now."

Iris was chilling at home unprotected when Barry entered the apartment. "I was just thinking about you...holy shit," she said startled as she saw Barry.

"I just want to talk," Barry said as Iris pointed a pistol at him.

"Take one more step and I'll shoot you," Iris told him.

"I came here because I'm about to do something impossible and even though it may not work, I couldn't leave this world without telling you...," Barry began.

"Nice try," Eobard said as he entered the room. "She doesn't love you, she loves me. Tell him, Iris. Or better yet, shoot him."

"Iris, no matter what happens, Thawne can't take my feelings for you. I love you. He's responsible for us being apart. He killed your father, made me think I was insane, took away my speed, and brought Superman to 2021. If not for him, we would still be together," Barry said.

"Enough!" Eobard said about to strike Barry down.

Iris suddenly shot him with a paralyzing beam. Eobard fell to the floor stunned. "Go, before I change my mind," Iris said to Barry.

Barry then took off and met up with Alex on the street level. "How did it go with Iris?" Alex asked.

"I don't know. She let me go. It has to mean something," Barry said hopefully.

"Well, let's do this thing," Alex said attaching the PED to his suit.

"Alex, thank you," Barry said appreciatively.

"Remember who you're running for," Alex reminded him.

Barry then took off with Eobard in pursuit. "Barry, you got company," Alex radioed as she saw the second streak go past her.

"So do you," Frost said as she blasted Alex to the pavement. Alex got back up only to be dropped by Chillblaine.

A sonic boom shattered the windows of nearby buildings as something hit the pavement hard and fast. Frost and Chillblaine turned around to see Supergirl in a black uniform. "You do realize she can draw and quarter you," Alex mocked.

"We can take her," Chillblaine said confidently.

Frost and Chillblaine engaged Kara with kicks and punches. Kara evaded their strikes with super speed and then punched them both back to the torso. The two engaged Kara again only to be beaten back. Frost and Chillblaine fired frost beams at Kara from their hands. Kara blew the frost back on them sending them back to the pavement.

A sudden red beam hit Kara sending her to a knee. "I increased your body's density a thousand-fold at the sub-atomic level," Atom said, impressed with himself.

"A thousand?" Kara wondered as she got back to her feet surprising Atom. "If it had been a million, you might have had a chance."

"Oh, shit," Atom realized backing up.

Kara blasted Atom with frost breath freezing him. She then walked over to Alex and lifted her back up. "Long time no see," Alex said to her.

"I should have been there during your time of need," Kara admitted.

"You have to stop Thawne from catching up to Barry. Their combined speed will destroy the surface of the planet," Alex warned.

"Barry Allen?" Kara wondered. "In my present condition, I can't catch up to them," she admitted.

Across the world, Barry and Eobard ran around creating all sorts of destruction across the planet as they did. Eobard was just about to catch Barry when he was suddenly pulled away and forced to the ground by dark figures. Dark figures in front of Barry grabbed him ahead and forced him to stop creating a powerful electrical discharge.

"Iris," Barry said as he was stopped and forced to the ground. The PED was then ripped off his uniform. Zod, Faora, Astra, Non, and the other Kryptonians gave Eobard and Barry a look of disdain.

"I've tolerated human speedsters long enough. Kill them both," Zod ordered.

"Zod, I served you. Doesn't that count for something!" Eobard shouted at him as Faora held his neck in her grip.

"A good death is its own reward," Faora said coldly as she snapped his neck killing him.

Barry stared at the Kryptonians as they surrounded him. Completely exhausted and defeated, he gave them all a look of defiance. "You put your own selfish desires above that of your own world, Barry Allen. We have all lost family fighting for what we believed was right, to save Krypton," Zod scolded.

"If I had succeeded in going back in time, Armageddon wouldn't have happened," Barry said frustrated.

"Perhaps," Zod allowed. "But we can't take that risk."

"Do your worst," Barry said defiantly.

Zod fired heat vision into Barry's chest killing him instantly.

Kara listened to Zod's voice from afar. "The two human speedsters are dead," Zod informed her.

"Barry and Eobard are dead," Kara told Alex.

"Then, there is no hope," she sadly and then noticed the destruction to the city, to the whole world.

"Time travel is forbidden under Kryptonian law. However, there is one Kryptonian that has a tendency to not follow our laws," Kara said taking out a portal device. "Find me there and tell her what has happened here," she said giving Alex the portal device.

Alex nodded. "Hurry," Kara pressed as the Kryptonians moved towards them. Alex turned on the portal and went through it just as the Kryptonians arrived.

Earth-38 2031

Alex ended up in the DEO. Immediately, Brainiac 5 drones were on the scene with rifles trained on her. Upon recognizing her, they immediately backed off. Hank then walked up to Alex. "Report," he ordered.

"I'm from another Earth destroyed by an Armageddon created by Barry Allen and Eobard Thawne. I need your help to go back in time to 2021 on this Earth and then portal back to my Earth to warn them," Alex said.

Hank read Alex's mind. "I can see everything. Wow, that's fucked up," he chuckled.

Alex gave him an odd look. "Director Henshaw, when did you develop the ability to read minds?"

Hank morphed into J'onn. "Holy shit," Alex said backing away. J'onn then morphed back into Hank. Supergirl then sped inside the DEO. "What's the emergency?" she asked.

"It's just Alex from Earth-1," Brainiac 5 informed her.

Karina looked over Alex's older appearance and noticed her wedding ring. "Who are you married to?"

"Maxwell Lord," Alex replied.

Karina gave Alex a look of surprise. "Supergirl, Kara, I need your help," Alex said urgently. Karina eyed the ring and then back up to Alex's face.

"Of course," Karina smiled.

Author's Notes: The episode broke my brain. If Thawn had successfully gone back in time in 2013 and replaced Barry as the Flash, then Flash Seasons 1-8 would be annihilated immediately. The 2021 Flash would be gone instantly and never existed having died as a child by Thawne. Therefore, Flash 2021 would never have reached 2031 to create Armageddon. Even if Flash physics works differently in CW, I have to stick with Adventures of Supergirl time travel physics for the sake of continuity. I also found my version of events more amusing with everyone "forgiving" Thawne and Iris marrying him after Barry disappears.

Kudos to Neal McDonough who appeared to be having a good time and chewing up scenery the entire time. Sadly, I had to replace him with Alex. Speaking of which, Alex is so weird in this episode. The fate of the world is in the balance and Alex is busy scolding a "straight" couple for not hooking up ten years ago. How about minding your own business and focusing on the task at hand? Not to mention that all of this drama is pointless when the timeline ends. Personally, I find Team Flash dysfunctional and selfish risking the entire world for their own personal happiness. That said, the most implausible thing in this whole episode is Batwoman continuing for another ten seasons.
