DEO, Metropolis

Alex exited a time portal and found herself in the DEO. Kara, Mon, Hank, and Brainiac 5 simply stared at her as she came through. Alex immediately identified Hank and went over to him. "Director Henshaw, I have important intel to discuss with you," she said super-seriously.

"We're all friends here," Hank said dismissively. "Spill it."

"I think protocols dictate...," Alex insisted.

Hank then morphed into J'onn. "Holy shit!" Alex said startled, backing away. J'onn then morphed back into Hank.

"The look on your face was priceless," Kara chuckled amused.

"Have you always been an alien?" Alex asked shocked.

"Yes," Mon confirmed.

Kara gave him a dirty look while acknowledging that Martians and humans were both aliens from his point of view. "Don't be an ass."

"I took Hank Henshaw's identity and got rid of the original," Hank explained.

"Okay," Alex said as she processed that.

"What do you have to report, Agent Danvers?" Brainiac 5 asked calmly.

"I'm not actually an agent, just a scientist contracted by the DEO," Alex corrected.

"She's definitely not from our Earth," Mon said obviously.

"Well...no shit," Kara agreed. "What's your deal, Miss Danvers?" Kara asked.

"I'm married and a doctor. It's Dr. Alexandra Lord," Alex replied.

"You have to be shitting me," Hank laughed. Kara also looked away smiling.

"What?" Alex asked dismayed by their attitude.

"Let's just say our Alex and our Maxwell Lord didn't get along. In fact, our Alex didn't get along with men in general," Kara said dryly.

"Well, I'm here to ask for your help to save my Earth from Armageddon," Alex said getting back to business.

"From what?" Hank asked concernedly.

"From the Flash," Alex said seriously.

"Damn, I didn't know he had it in him," Kara said, proud of him.

"He did it to stop Thawne from marrying his wife, Iris," Alex added.

"And now I feel only disappointment and shame," Kara shook her head dismayed.

"Will you come to my Earth and help me fix this?" Alex beseeched them.

"If we succeed, your reality will end," Brainiac 5 warned.

"I'm okay with that," Alex said resolved.

"I got this," Kara volunteered.

Earth-1 November 2021

Central City

Joe West was on the phone with Barry. "Of course, I'm here. You're sounding kind of queer. Are you okay?" Joe asked concernedly.

The Flash suddenly zipped into his house. "I am now," he said giving Joe a hug.

"Yeah, okay," Joe said confused. "What's really going on?"

"Do you not remember?" Barry asked. "I saw you nearly getting hit by a train at the station this morning."

"Oh, yeah, but some red-and-blue blur got me in time. Close shave," Joe recalled. "Did you change your costume or something?"

"No," Barry said with a haunted face.

"Was it Thawne?" Joe wondered. "I thought he was in yellow."

"Thawne tried to murder you to get to me but it wasn't me that saved you," Barry said sitting on the couch dumbfounded.

"Well, I'm so sorry you didn't get the opportunity to save me," Joe said sympathetically taking a seat next to him. "Hey, listen to me. I'm here now and I'm not going anywhere."

"I feel like I can finally breathe again," Barry admitted.

"Nothing like a second shot at life," Kara said nonchalantly from behind them. She was dressed in a black coat and beenie to somewhat hide her identity.

"Barry, why is there this beautiful woman in my house?" Joe asked Barry.

"Thank you," Kara smiled appreciatively.

"You here to cause trouble?" Barry asked accusingly.

"I just saved Joe. I think some gratitude is in order," Kara said miffed.

"How are you here?" Barry asked spooked.

"I still have portal and time machine technology. That means I can punk your Earth wherever and whenever I want to," Kara informed him.

"But why?" Barry asked.

"I'm no hero, Barry. I'm just a sister that's a little concerned you're going to fuck up the timeline and create Armageddon," Kara revealed.

"As if," Barry doubted.

Kara gave him a long stare and then heard gunshots at the CCPD. "You go ahead and enjoy your family and friends. I'm going to go now," Kara said and then zipped away.

At the CCPD, the cops fired on Thawne without effect as he easily evaded every bullet with his super speed. Thawne then blasted the cops to the floor with an electrical surge. "I know what you're thinking. Why did I do that?" Thawne said to them. "I did it to draw out your hero. What is taking him so long," he asked impatiently.

"You want a hero?" Green Arrow asked as he kicked Thawne's legs from underneath him. Oliver then loaded an arrow and aimed at Thawne's face. "You have failed this city," Oliver accused.

"Really?" Thawne shook his head dismayed as he slowly got up. "You know, normally I would be intrigued to meet the great Green Arrow but, unfortunately, today, I don't have the time."

"What are you doing here? What's your deal, asshole?" Oliver demanded.

"Enough with the questions," Thawne said as he blasted Oliver up against the wall where he lost hold of his bow. Thawne took Oliver by the throat with his left hand. "Sorry, man," Thawne said as he rapidly vibrated his right hand for a killer strike.

Supergirl suddenly punched Thawne off of Oliver. "Stay down. If I wanted to, you'd be dead already," Kara told him.

"I didn't come here to fight," Thawne said getting back to his feet and holding his hands up. "I came here to make a scene, publicly, so there would be witnesses for what I have to ask you."

"What is it?" Kara asked curiously.

"Want to see Team Flash's true colors?" Thawne asked her.

"You had my curiosity. Now, you have my attention," Kara smiled.

Kara dumped Thawne off at STAR Lab where he was placed in an energy containment field. In the command center, Oliver was with Team Flash. "Why are you here?" Barry asked concernedly.

"To bring justice to Central City," Oliver said vaguely.

"But that's what I do," Barry said defensively.

"Chester P. Runk here. I just want to say it's so cool to finally meet the legendary Green Arrow. I know all of the stories," Chester said, taking brown-nosing to new levels.

"Not all the stories," Oliver corrected referring to all the fools he had killed. "He told Supergirl you can save him. What did he mean by that?" Oliver asked.

"He says he's suffering from some temporal sickness that will eventually erase his existence," Barry said seriously.

"If he dies this time...," Caitlin theorized.

"It's game over," Chester said grimly. "For good."

"Okay, I'll call the funeral home, the morgue, a good priest," Caitlin listed off.

"Wait...wait...maybe we can do something for him," Iris objected.

"The fuck did I just hear?" Oliver wondered.

"We know Thawne's back but we need to talk this through, discuss it with focus groups, take a vote before we make any decisions," Iris said.

"Just let me in there and I'll shoot him right between his eyes," Oliver pressed.

"It's not how we do things," Barry shut him down.

"This is the biggest mistake of your lives!" Oliver raged and then left the room.

"I'll go talk to him," Iris said walking after him.

In the Flash gym, Oliver kicked ass on a punching bag. Iris interrupted his workout for a chat. "Why are you here, really?" Iris asked.

"Once I realized Thawne was back in Central City, I knew you people wouldn't have the stones to do what is necessary," Oliver said.

"You mean...kill people?" Iris asked shocked and appalled.

"Blood for blood is the answer," Oliver agreed.

"I know you feel that in order to protect your city, you had to take lives. You're going to end up ruining your own. I think you know that," Iris lectured.

"I really don't. I'm having a blast. I could go several more seasons if I wanted to," Oliver said ambitiously. "Thawne nearly killed your father. Tell me right now that if Barry suddenly disappeared, you wouldn't marry the guy."

"Well...it's complicated. Without Barry, there's no one else on this world that has his kind of speed," Iris said licking her lips.

"Exactly," Oliver said unimpressed.

"I'm addicted to speed...sexually," Iris admitted.

"You have a choice," Oliver told her. "You think my life will be ruined if I kill Thawne? I'll sleep like a baby tonight. What will happen to your life if you don't? Everyone's life will be better off if he were gone."

In the containment room, Caitlin frowned as she looked over Thawne's readings. "So, how long do I have?" Thawne asked.

"I don't see anything wrong with you," she admitted.

"You have to save me. You're the good guys. You'll do the right thing. You're a doctor, after all," Thawne reminded her.

"Damn, you're right," Caitlin realized."But I've had a lot of patients die on me. Like...a lot. Do you really think it wise to come to us?"

"Is that right? Remember eight years ago when you had the perfect life with your fiance and now you're here with these fools," Thawne said.

"I will prove to you how far I've come...by saving you," Caitlin said resolved. "And then you'll be forced to be grateful. Then, we can be friends, maybe even family."

Caitlin then walked out of the room. "Fucking serious?" Thawne wondered of her.

Barry went to see Thawne in his containment cell. He tapped on the energy cell two times to get his attention. "I have that power, too," Thawne said immaturely tapping the energy cell twice with his middle finger.

"Caitlin told me about your talk. Something I want to know...why do you want to steal my life? My life sucks, man," Barry said confused.

"To hurt you," Thawne said obviously.

"Don't you have anything better to do than destroy my life?" Barry asked.

"No," Thawne shook his head.

"What did I ever do to you?" Barry asked frustrated.

"Nearly two centuries ago, we meet for the very first time. For my part, I found ways to unleash speeds faster than anyone alive. And just as I was about to present myself to the world, you had to fuck it up. You dazzled the crowd and then you saved the crowd. The crowd that I was meant to save. The crowd that was meant to thank me. You stole my greatest moment...and I took that personally. At that moment, I knew I had to get faster than you," Thawne revealed.

"This is what this is all about? I'll just decide not to go to the future and then you'll never enter my life," Barry said simply.

The two stared at each other for a good moment. "You can't help yourself, can you?" Thawne mocked. "I'm still here."

"So...if you won't stop hating me what happens after I heal you and release you?" Barry asked.

"I'm going to find new ways to kick your ass, kill your loved ones, and make sweet love to your wife...again," Thawne promised.

That night, Team Flash had a discussion on the matter. "We can't let Thawne die," Chester argued.

"We need to give him another chance to change," Barry agreed.

"We can't kill him," Allegra nodded.

"Maybe Thawn did this to himself. It's not like we can save him anyway. It's time we let him go," Iris argued.

"I know we're like the new kids around here and haven't had any battles with Thawne but that's a good thing because we can be objective about this. We save people, right? You saved me," Allegra said to Barry.

"And me, literally," Chester added.

"You're right," Iris said.

"Nice," Allegra said giving Chester a high-five.

"About being the new kids. As such, you don't get a say," Iris shut them down.

"Damn," Chester said completely destroyed.

"Iris, maybe we should think about this," Cecile objected.

"We already have," Iris told her off.

Barry took Iris aside. "Did you talk to Oliver?" he asked.

"Maybe. Why?" Iris asked.

"What's the sudden change in attitude? Did he give you a vibrator-tipped arrow or something?" Barry asked concernedly.

"How did you know?" Iris asked spooked.

"Barry, Iris, what the fuck is going on? Come with me out here," Joe demanded, interrupting their debate.

"Okay, dad," Barry and Iris said together as they went into the hallway.

"What the fuck is wrong with you, two? Since when do we let people die?" Joe asked.

"I'm sure there have been several times when that's happened," Barry recalled.

"Barry, shut your smart mouth," Joe ordered.

"Yes, Sir," Barry said submissively.

"You know what kind of man Thawne is, right? He tried to kill you," Iris reminded him.

"I do but that man came to you for help and you're obligated to try to save him," Joe told them.

"If we try to save him, we'll probably fuck it up...like we always do," Barry said.

"I pray to God that you do because I want him dead, too. If I've learned anything about you guys is that you guys always fuck it up. So, the only way for you guys to defeat Thawne for good...is to help him," Joe reasoned.

"I mean, that's what heroes do," Barry agreed.

"It's not about consequences, it's always about our intentions. So, go back in there with the best of intentions and get me the right consequences," Joe insisted.

"We don't have a choice. Thawne isn't giving us one," Iris objected.

"You always have a choice!" Joe shouted at her.

"I don't know. Maybe I'll zap him to take away his speed force and heal him at the same time," Barry figured.

"You're figuring this out now?" Joe asked unimpressed and walked away.

"Joe," Barry called after him.

"This decision is for the two of you. I'm not trying to guilt-trip you, two, but if you decide wrongly, you're both going to hell," Joe said.

"Where are you going?" Barry asked.

"I want all the plausible deniability I can get. I do not want to be here when shit hits the fan," Joe said taking off.

Barry and Iris went back to the group. "If we're really heroes, we can't turn our back on anyone no matter how many lives could be at risk for doing so," Barry said resolved. "Morality is about intentions, not consequences."

"So, you're going to take away his speed to save his life?" Frost asked. "What if it doesn't work?"

"It will," Barry said confidently. "Jefferson Pierce hit me with enough voltage to nearly sever me from the speed force. If I do the same thing to Thawne, the same thing will happen."

"Why didn't we do this before?" Cecile wondered.

"Once his speed is gone, CCPD can take him into custody," Iris said ignoring Cecile. "I've already called Cisco off-screen."

"Don't mention Cisco. He's dead to me," Barry said super-serious.

"Taking away his speed isn't going to bring back all the lives he destroyed...and I'm okay with that," Caitlin agreed.

"We can't let Thawne change who we are," Barry told them all.

Supergirl suddenly appeared in the command center. "You all are a pack of fools," she scolded. "You must kill Thawne. Why can't you see that?"

"Kara, without his speed, Thawne won't ever be a threat to anyone ever again," Barry said naively.

"He's recovered his powers before. Stand down and let Thawne die or suffer the consequences. Final warning," Kara warned.

Barry activated his helmet becoming super-serious. "No," he refused.

Kara suddenly took hold of Barry and zipped him over to a city square. "You either let me kill him or I'll kill you, Barry. I won't let Armageddon happen again," Kara told him.

"This is not your Earth," Barry told her off.

"I was right about you all along, Flash. You are humanity's enemy," Kara accused.

"I'm choosing to save a life, Kara, not end one. That's what heroes do," Barry said defensively.

"The definition of a hero is someone that gets other people killed," Kara said cynically.

"Then, you're the greatest hero of them all, Kara," Barry insulted.

"What are you implying?" Kara glared.

"What you told me about your Earth was all a lie, wasn't it? You're not the heroic rebel leader. You were the despot. The one that inflicted pain and suffering. Who killed to get what she wanted," Barry accused.

"I did what was necessary," Kara said defensively.

"No, you're wrong. You've been wrong. This whole time about everything. You're no hero, Kara. You're just like Thawne," Barry said.

"Only in your simple little mind, Flash, because I know what must be done. The greater good must be embraced in order for this world to survive. All that remains is for me to show you," Kara said.

Flash powered up and then the two sped towards each other.

As soon as Barry was gone, Frost turned to Allegra. "Suit up, we're going after Flash."

"No, Barry can handle Supergirl. You two protect Thawne no matter what," Iris ordered.

"Are you sure about this, boss?" Allegra asked uncertainly.

"Yeah, if Supergirl attacks us, too, we need to be ready," Iris said seriously.

Frost and Allegra went down the hall towards Thawne's containment cell. "What if Supergirl kills Barry? They've fought before and it wasn't exactly close," Allegra said anxiously.

"Then, we're fucked," Frost said obviously.

An arrow hit the floor near them and let out a sonic pulse devastating the both of them. The two dropped to the floor unconscious.

Like a boss, Oliver cut power to STAR labs and continued his infiltration. Oliver fired a warning shot at Iris destroying a TV monitor behind her in the command center. Chester, Caitlin, and Cecile went to cover as Oliver fired on them all. Caitlin got hit in the leg and was now out of the fight. "What the hell, man?" Chester asked stunned as Oliver cautiously moved about the room.

"You're making the wrong decision. Thawne has to die," Oliver told them all.

"Listen to me. This isn't you," Iris said to him.

"Oh, really?" Oliver scoffed.

"Oliver, she's right," Cecile added.

"You think you can use your empath powers on me? I'm the perfect warrior," Oliver said as he pointed his bow at her.

"Oliver, stop," Iris said getting out a plasma rifle. "Oliver, you know this is wrong. You could have killed us all but you didn't. Think about William and Mia. Is this the path you really want to choose?"

Oliver frowned and then lowered his bow.

Flash went so fast he created illusion copies of himself around Kara. She, in turn, fired heat vision all around him. Flash shocked Kara repeatedly from different angles to little effect. Kara finally backhanded Flash to the pavement. Kara fired on him with heat vision which Flash blocked with his right arm. His suit around his arm became roasted off and then automatically repaired itself. Flash sped towards Kara avoiding her heat vision fire and giving her a strong upper-cut. Kara quickly recovered and punched Flash to the chest knocking the wind out of him, took him by the neck, and slammed him to the ground. She then lifted a car over him and slammed it down on him. Flash used his energy surge powers to keep the car from crushing him...as opposed to just moving out of the way.

Flash tossed the car back at Kara who simply shredded through it. The debris of the car went flying across the street. "Oliver Queen has failed and your friends are fine. Thawne must die. That's why I'm going to take matters into my own hands. I'm the hero this world needs, not the one it deserves," Kara said to him.

Flash powered himself up and then sped towards Kara with a swinging kick to her head. Kara didn't even bother to dodge it and simply fired heat vision at him. Flash dodged her beams and fired a surge from the air. The surge merely deflected off of Kara's frame. "I hope you haven't finished entertaining me, Flash," Kara mocked and then sped towards him. She caught his leg and then tossed him into a building. Flash bounced off the wall of the building. Kara was on him immediately. Flash sped away from her but tripped himself up as he retreated. Kara went for a finishing punch through the pavement which Flash barely dodged. Flash unnecessarily ran up a building to the top to give himself a breather.

Kara waited patiently for Flash to power up again. He then sped down the building and punched at her faster and harder than before. Kara's body was jolted by the force of the blows. Flash then slam-kicked Kara hard to the face from above. Kara swung at him missing completely. Barry went around her and punched her to the jaw as hard as he could from the other side. Kara lost her footing and fell to the pavement buckling it.

Kara smiled as she wiped away the blood on her lip. "Well, is that all?" she asked amused.

Flash sped around her in a circle. Kara simply remained standing bored. Flash suddenly moved towards Kara and kicked her hard to the chin sending her into the air. Flash kept it up kicking Kara several times as they both gained altitude. Flash winced as he overdid himself, something Kara took notice of. Flash hugged Kara tightly pinning her arms and legs, went into a spin, and then slammed them both down to the ground at high-speed. Flash withdrew from Kara just before impact to escape the blow.

Kara stared up the air annoyed and then got back to her feet. She clapped her hands creating a shockwave that forced Flash to the pavement. Kara continued to clap her hands forcing Flash away from her until he slammed into a building. Kara then lazily fired heat vision at Flash forcing him to move around. Kara then saw her moment and punched Flash to the pavement and then punched him hard to the back forcing him to cry out. Flash sped out of her grip and avoided her heat vision fire.

"I will make you proud, Joe," Flash said to himself as he powered up to his max.

Kara simply stared intrigued as Flash's skin started to become as red as his suit. An electrical aura surged around him. Suddenly, Flash raced towards Kara and kicked her up into the air. Using the nearby buildings, Flash jumped off of them and hit Kara several times while she remained in midair within a second. Flash finally gave Kara his most powerful Falcon punch to her gut, took hold of her cape, pulled her towards him, and then punched her as hard as he could down the ground. Kara hit the pavement in an explosion of asphalt and dust. Flash rolled around on the ground, his muscles shredded by the effort.

Kara got back up, dusted herself off, and eyed the exhausted Flash attempting to get back up. In a split second, she broke his left arm and left leg dropping him. Despite his injuries, Flash got back up. "I must preserve my way," Flash said to her.

"It's all over. You're in no condition to fight me," Kara said scanning his body.

Flash's body shook violently, his left arm and left leg bleeding, and his uniform torn in several places. Kara merely stared as Flash limped towards her. "You could have killed Thawne at any time you wanted to. What was this fight for?" Barry asked and then collapsed at her feet.

Kara eyed the unconscious Flash and then noted several men in trenchcoats "He had conviction even if he was mistaken," Zod said to Kara.

"Ten years from now, Barry Allen and Eobard Thawne caused Armageddon on this world," Kara informed him.

"We should kill them both," Zod reasoned.

"This world needs a Flash...and a Reverse Flash. Just keep them in check," Kara ordered.

"You didn't say please," Zod said disrespected.

Kara sighed, looked around to see if there were any witnesses, and then took a knee before Zod. "Please ensure the safety and wellbeing of this world and its inhabitants and check the powers of all metahumans," she requested.

"Very well, Kara Zor-El. I've decided to appoint this planet's version of you to head this task," Zod assigned.

"Did I just give myself more work?" Kara wondered.

"Rise before Zod," Zod allowed.

Kara got back on her feet. "I have more drama to fix, general," she said respectfully.

"Go, you are dismissed," Zod permitted. "We'll take care of the boy."

Kara then sped off towards STAR Labs.

Inside the containment cell, Thawne stood around bored looking perfectly fine. Team Flash huddled around him ready to defend their arch-nemesis to death from any adversary wanting to kill him. Kara entered STAR Lab and confronted the Team Flash. "Lower the shield," she ordered.

"Not if you're going to kill him," Iris refused.

"I'm going to heal him," Kara lied.

"Oh, well, that's alright then," Chester said naively. The rest of Team Flash nodded their heads and then turned off the shield.

Kara fired heat vision on Thawne turning him red as he absorbed her energy. Thawne cried out as he felt a dramatic power-up. The energy surge went through the ceiling and then evaporated into the open air. Kara and Thawne then embraced on the platform. "I'm now faster than Flash," he said pleased.

"And all it took was me to get you there," Kara said amused.

"Wait...what's going on?" Iris asked dumbfounded.

"There was nothing wrong with me. I simply wanted to see what you all would do and you didn't disappoint," Thawne smiled.

"You mean...you lied?" Allegra asked disgustedly.

"I expect you to follow the terms of our agreement. You are to stop Barry from fucking up the timeline and creating Armageddon...again. If you start shit again my Kryptonian friends will kill your ass," Kara told him.

"I know," Thawne nodded.

"Go, be a hero. I pardon you," Kara said boinking his forehead with her two fingers.

"Until next time...Team Flash," Thawne said giving them all the middle finger as he casually left.

"Did that just happen?" Chester wondered.

After their epic defeat, Team Flash decided it was right to go party and get drunk as fuck. "Now, this is epic, epic!" Chester said excitedly.

"I don't know what's more impressive, this place or us," Cecile said lacking all self-awareness.

"Oh, stop," Iris scolded her.

"I've owned better," Oliver said unimpressed.

"We get it. You're rich," Barry acknowledged. "After all that virtue signaling, I think we deserve the night off."

"Look, about me trying to kill you all...," Oliver said flatly.

"Already forgiven," Cecile interrupted him.

"We're just glad the real Oliver Queen showed up," Iris said naively.

"And that, beautiful people, is it for shop talk," Cecile ordered.

"I think we've had enough aliens and evil speedsters," Caitlin agreed.

"Sup?" Thawne asked walking up to them.

Oliver immediately placed a knife at his throat. "How about I finish what I started?"

"By all means, try," Thawne mocked.

"I need a drink," Oliver said realizing he couldn't match Thawne's speed. "A real one."

As Team Flash scattered away from Thawne, Barry came up to him. "Hey, man. I'm sorry," Barry said sincerely.

"I'm sorry, too. Now that I'm faster than you, I don't want to see all of this get retconned in a time paradox. I want you to do what you did in my time, so I can experience all the years I punked you," Thawne requested.

"You got it. But I'm not doing it for you. I'm doing it to save your future," Barry said.

"Fair enough," Thawne smiled.

At the bar, Oliver poured himself a drink. "This is such bullshit," he said gritting his teeth.

"That special aroma smells familiar: Sabastian James?" Iris identified.

"My favorite scotch. Want to fight about it?" Oliver asked.

"You going to visit Felicity, your wife?" Iris asked.

"I want to thank you all for letting me find myself again," Oliver said ignoring Iris' question.

"Are you going to stop killing?" Iris asked expectedly.

"Actually, the opposite. After this shit-show, I'm more determined than ever to bring vengeance to evil-doers. I think I'll start killing fools in Berlin," Oliver said thoughtfully.

"It's your choice what kind of hero you want to be," Iris told him.

"Yeah, thank you," Oliver said not taking her seriously.

"Anyway, don't be a stranger to Central City. Cheers," Iris toasted him.

Kara smoothly went over to Chester who was drinking root beer like a total nerd. "How about you put down that root beer, drink some stronger stuff, and make a move on Allegra?"

"What? No, we're just friends," Chester said nervously.

"You're highly intelligent, tall, well-built, and you're black. If she doesn't fall for you, she's a racist," Kara said knowingly.

"I got this. Be smooth," Chester said to himself and then went over to Allegra only to be immediately cock-blocked by Barry.

Around the corner, Thawne was off to himself. Joe went over to see him. "You here to arrest me?" Thawne asked.

"No, I'm not a cop anymore. I came to say thank you," Joe said sincerely.

"For what? I tried to kill you," Thawne reminded him.

"For helping Barry remember what's important, his integrity. What you did by getting yourself arrested and confined in that cell was pretty damn selfless," Joe said.

"I know, right?" Thawne agreed. "Now that I'm faster than Barry, I'm not sure why I'm still here. I should be gone by now, Joe."

"Maybe you still have some work to do," Joe said knowingly. "To repair all the damage you've caused."

"I'll pray on it," Thawne said with false sincerity and then zipped away.

Smallville

In a field, Kara and Astra walked side-by-side. "As a child, I betrayed you and sent you to Fort Rozz," Kara admitted.

"If you hadn't, I would have perished along with the rest of our race," Astra said forgivingly.

"There's more. When you came to Earth, you had ambitious goals to bring world peace and ecological balance to this world. You didn't want a repeat of Krypton on this world. Instead of embracing your goals and aspirations, I mocked and belittled you. I imprisoned you again and tortured you for funsies. I...," Kara said tearfully.

"Go on," Astra continued.

"Instead of talking things out, negotiating, and understanding our differences, I killed you. Not directly but it might as well have been me," Kara said.

Astra gave her a patient look. "I cannot give you absolution. I am not her."

"What must I do?" Kara asked sorrowfully. "I fear for her soul, for my own."

"Pray for her," Astra recommended.

"What if it's too late? What if it's futile?" Kara asked.

"No prayer is wasted," Astra told her.

"Okay," Kara nodded."I've missed you," she said sincerely as she embraced Astra.

"Be we be a thousand years apart and in different universes, I will not cease to pray for you, Kara," Astra told her.

A teenage Clark came up to Kara and gave her an odd look noticing the difference in demeanor. "Clark, our race survived because when faced with the very worst, it's our choices that define us. And the choices you make will determine what kind of hero you'll be. So, make your own destiny and protect it," she said to him.

"Doesn't this world have its own heroes?" Clark asked confused.

"The torch has passed from them...to you," Kara told him. "I dub thee Superman."

Author's Notes: So, Alex's role ended up being a video call, a cameo, and a ridiculous cupid role in a future timeline that no longer exists. Batwoman even had less of a role to play. Still, I'm not regretful for doing this crossover. The revelation by Thawne, according to AOS time-travel rules, simply means that if Barry doesn't go to the future, Thawne will not exist as a Flash villain. A lot of other time travel nonsense had to be cut or modified to make sense. I am a little surprised Team Flash doesn't have set up protocols for a POW and decided not to consult an outside agency for legal. Normally, IRL, Team Flash would be correct to treat Thawne and then hand him over to the proper authorities. That said, the CCPD was inappropriate to hand over Thawne to STAR Lab in the first place without supervision or guidance. In AOS, Kara bends the rules quite a bit and makes a point to defy suspect rights every chance she can get for the "greater good."
