Songfic – Tiny Vessels by Death Cab for Cutie
"You're home." Said Kathy Stabler while standing in her nightgown, leaning against their bedroom door. Elliot walked up to her and kissed her. His hands roamed her body, he didn't say a word. Kathy knew he needed to be held in her arms.
It must have been a case.
Talking about it wasn't going to happen, Kathy knew that so she gave into the physical connection that Elliot so desperately needed.
This is the moment that you know,
That you told her that you loved her, but you don't.
You touch her skin and then you think,
That she is beautiful, but she don't mean a thing to me.
Yeah, she is beautiful, but she don't mean a thing to me.
Olivia walked out of the station house and drove home. Home to her empty apartment.
When Liv got home, her apartment was pitch dark. The case had gotten to the whole squad, and seeing Dr. Huang didn't take the images out of her brain. She could see all the dead children around the house. Olivia put her hair in a ponytail and changed into some sweats. I'll just do some paperwork Should I call Elliot?
She shook her head, grabbed some files, and her cell phone and settled on her bed. Turned off the lights and left the small reading lamp on.

His hands were everywhere. I began to fumble with the buttons of his dress shirt. He managed to slip off my nightgown fairly quickly. No lights were on, only the tainted light of the moon was shining through the bedroom window. Our lips met, and our bodies became one.
I wanted to believe in all the words that I was speaking,
As we moved together in the dark.
And all the friends that I was telling, All the playful misspellings,
And every bite I gave that left a mark.
Then tiny vessels oozed into your neck and formed the bruises,
That you said you didn't want to fade. But they did and so did I that day.
She tried to focus on the paper work strewn all over the bed. It was no use. She looked her phone and her partner's number was staring back at her as were his name in capital letter; ELLIOT STABLER.
She couldn't bring herself to call him. She had pushed him away in his time of need. I love him, but I'll never have him.
All I see are dark gray clouds in the distance moving closer with every hour.
So when you'd ask, "Is something wrong?"
I'd think, "You're damn right there is, but we can't talk about it now.
No we can't talk about it now."
After it was over, he rolled over and turned away from me.
"Elliot…did something happen, was it a case?" I asked.
"Kathy…not now. " he replied.
I rolled over and went to sleep, wondering if he was dreaming of her.
