Lena woke up with a start bra-less and sweaty in her very luxurious apartment. The apartment had a large collection of books, a make-up desk, and a large dresser. Noticing the time, Lena quickly got dressed in a conservative business suit. She entered a church and awkwardly sat down in a random row. The church was filled with a diverse group of people from all over the world. A random blond-haired man wearing a tan trench coat sat down next to Lena. "Miss Luthor," he addressed.
"And...you...," Lena said not recognizing him from anywhere.
"You've been gone a long time," he noted.
"Well, I was busy learning the mystic arts in Canada," Lena said defensively.
"A lot of us were hoping for you and Kara would get together," he said.
"I'm very sorry," Lena said giving him an odd look.
"Thank you," he said painfully and then closed his eyes in grief. "I think what keeps me up at night is wondering did it have to happen that way? Was there any way for you two?"
"No," Lena shook her head. "It was not meant to be."
"This wedding destroys all my hopes and dreams," he said.
"Perhaps your expectations were flawed from the beginning," Lena told him off.
"You queer-baited us," he accused her.
"I did not. We didn't even kiss," Lena rolled her eyes.
"But you did give each other long looks, smiles, passionate hugs, and she carried you in her arms. Sounds like you two were in love to me," he said irritably.
"Or maybe we're just really really good friends which is why I am here," Lena said pissed off.
"Had you lasted another season, you would have kissed and been an item," he predicted.
"You're delusional," Lena said dismissively.
"Tell me this...why did she have to marry a man...a black man?" the man asked her.
Lena ignored him and distanced herself slightly from him as the wedding ceremony was to begin. Kara went down the aisle in a white wedding dress. She gave Lena a flirtatious smile as she saw her and kept going. Lena, for her part, gave her a long stare as she admired her perfect beauty. Kara then met up with James Olsen, her husband-to-be.
At the reception, Lena went to the bar to get wasted. "Vodka martini, shaken, not stirred," she ordered. Kara came by and gave her a friendly smile. "Thank you for coming," she said gratefully.
"You looked beautiful out there, no sign of nervousness," Lena said.
"I don't get nervous," Kara reminded her.
"It's what I love about you," Lena said sincerely. "Let me get you something." She then turned to the bartender. "Water." Kara simply waited for the bartender to fill up a glass with water. Lena then did a minor spell to turn the water into wine.
"My favorite," Kara smiled as she took a sip.
"Congratulations," Lena said and then they toasted each other with their glasses.
"Let me go find Winn. He's a little embarrassing but he's a big fan," Kara said brightly.
"Uh, Kara, I should have...I wish things could have been different. I never stopped caring about us, but I had to make sacrifices to protect you. I'm sorry," Lena said sincerely.
"You're the one that has to hold the wand. I've always respected you for it," Kara told her.
"I'm just glad that you're gay," Lena said.
"I am. I really really am," Kara smiled.
"Good," Lena nodded awkwardly.
"And are you?" Kara asked concernedly.
"I'm gay," Lena said painfully.
"Good, you deserve it," Kara said as she placed her hand on Lena's chest and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
Lena then noticed there was a commotion outside. Going out to the balcony, she saw cars flying in all directions and people running away. Drinking down her martini, Lena went into attack mode wearing blue sorceress robes and a red cape. She flew over to the area of the disturbance but couldn't see anything. "Revelio," she said with her wand forcing the creature to reveal its true self. It was a giant one-eyed octopus monster holding onto a bus.
"Reducto," Lena said as the bus dissembled in midair revealing a girl inside. The tentacle monster reached for the girl now that the bus was in floating pieces. "Sectumsempra," Lena said as she sliced off the tentacle before it got to the girl.
The girl lost her grip inside the disassembled bus and fell to the pavement. "Wingardium Leviosa," Lena said as she fired on the girl and floated her over to her location. The pissed-off tentacle monster took hold of the bus now assembled again and threw it at Lena.
"Look out!" the girl said to Lena as the bus was thrown their way.
"Diffindo," Lena said as she sliced the bus in half cleanly. The two halves of the bus went passed them harmlessly.
"Do I know you?" Lena wondered as she gave the girl a hard look. The pissed-off tentacle monster swatted Lena into a store knocking her out. The tentacle monster then looked around with the girl cleverly hiding underneath it. The monster took a few seconds to figure it out and gave chase. As the girl ran as fast as she could, the tentacle monster threw cars every which way. The girl was about to get crushed when Supergirl intervened.
"I don't want to hurt you, but you leave me no choice. I'm going to have to put you down for a nap," Kara told the monster.
The tentacle monster roared unimpressed and tried to swat at Kara multiple times until finally capturing her with one of its limbs. Lena woke up and noticed Supergirl was in trouble. "Sectumsempra," she said slicing off one of the monster's tentacles, freeing Kara.
"Thanks. I owe you one," Kara said gratefully.
"You're welcome," Lena smiled.
"Let's work together as a team," Kara suggested.
"Fine by me," Lena agreed. "Incarcerous," Lena said as she fired a rope around the creature. "Hold on," she said to Kara as they both took the rope and tried to bring the monster down. The monster was having none of that as it continued to climb up a building busting up windows and the outside architecture as it did. The monster turned back towards Lena and Kara in annoyance. It swatted Kara back to the ground and then held Lena tightly in its grip.
"Conjunctivitis," Lena said firing a beam into the monster's eye. Immediately, the eye went pink obscuring the monster's vision. "Accio streetlamp," Lena called out as she summoned a streetlamp out of the ground, through the air, and into the monster's eye. Lena then pulled the eye out of the monster's head. The monster became lifeless and fell to the ground in a bloody heap.
Lena then turned her attention to the girl watching the whole fight from the building window. Lena teleported them both to the street level and met up with Kara. "Who's she?" Kara asked curiously.
"I was going to ask the same question," Lena said as the girl took off. "Hey, what did that creature want with you?"
"I have to go back to the reception," Kara said alarmed.
"I completely understand," Lena nodded but then the girl was gone, and her wand was also gone. "What the hell?"
Kara and Lena sped up to the girl and took back Lena's wand. "Stealing is wrong," Kara lectured her.
"We're not here to kill you. I risked my life to save your ass, remember?" Lena asked irritably.
The girl reluctantly handed the wand back to her. Lena looked over the odd girl. She had black hair, dark eyes, a pale complexion, and was wearing a jacket with stars and stripes. "What's your name, kid?" Lena asked gently.
"America Chavez," the girl replied.
"Nice to meet you, America," Kara smiled.
"That's got to be the worst code-name I have ever heard," Lena rolled her eyes.
"I'm from another universe," America blurted out.
"Let's have a chat," Lena said realizing this had become more complicated.
While Kara took off to go back to her wedding reception, Lena interviewed America at a pizza restaurant. America consumed slice-after-slice of pizza very quickly in front of Lena. "You're going to get a stomachache eating like that," Lena warned.
America burped obnoxiously. "Not likely," she said dismissively and then started on a second pizza.
"Look, I left a very nice wedding to save a smart-ass kid. You need to explain to me what's going on. Why did that creature want to eat you?" Lena demanded.
"It was trying to kidnap me," America corrected. "Whoever sent it wants my power."
"What power?" Lena asked.
"I can transverse the multiverse," America said proudly.
"You mean one of these?" Lena asked showing her a multiverse portal device.
"Yeah, well, I can physically do it on my own without needing technology or an energy source to do it," America said.
"How?" Lena wondered.
"I don't know how. I just do it," America shrugged.
"Your power is dangerous as it is for a kid. I can only imagine how much worse it would be if a real threat had it," Lena said dismayed.
"Oh, fuck me, right?" America said insulted.
"You must come with me to the DEO. You'll be safe there," Lena told her.
"Okay, you coming with me?" America asked curiously.
"I'll meet you there. I know an old friend that can help us," Lena promised.
Midvale
Alex hung out with her parents, Jeremiah and Eliza, at her childhood home. The three of them were cooking in the kitchen making cookies. They were all enjoying each other's company, laughing, and having a good 'ole time. "Make sure you wash your hands," Eliza reminded Alex once they were done.
That night, Alex went to bed with Eliza and Jeremiah following her into her room. Eliza went over to tuck a very adult Alex into bed. "Mom, I think I'm a little old for that," Alex told her.
"Okay," Eliza backed off.
"I'm sorry. You can tuck me in if you want," Alex allowed.
Eliza did just that as she sat on Alex's bed. "You know, a family is forever. We could never separate from each other even if we tried," Eliza told her and then kissed her on the forehead.
Alex awoke with a start alone in her bed. "What the fuck?" she wondered. Looking around, Eliza and Jeremiah were gone, and she was back in her own home outside National City. Alex got up slightly disturbed by the dream and noticed a note on the fridge reminding her that Kelly had taken Esme to Calvintown and when they would be back.
National City
Lena found Alex in a flower orchard all by herself. "What do I owe the pleasure?" Alex asked as Lena walked up to her.
"Do I need a reason to visit an old friend?" Lena asked smiling and then gave her an obligatory hug.
"When we fought Nyxly, I made mistakes. People were hurt. I'm out of that business," Alex told her.
"But we put things right," Lena insisted. "But I'm not here to talk about Nyxly."
"Then, what are you here for?" Alex asked confused.
"We need your help," Lena said seriously.
"With what?" Alex asked unsettled by Lena's demeanor.
"We found a girl that can travel across the multiverse by her own power. She was being chased by a demon that covets her power for himself. I have her at the DEO, but we could use your help," Lena said.
"Why me?" Lena asked. "You have Supergirl and the Martian Manhunter on your side."
"Kara is on her honeymoon and J'onn is visiting his people on Mars," Lena shot down. "Come with me to the DEO just as a consultant until this washes over."
"What if you brought America here?" Alex asked.
"Here?" Lena wondered, eying the open space in the middle of nowhere.
"The DEO has always had a target on its back. It's better to hide America away here," Alex argued.
Lena gave Alex a confused, then flustered, then alarmed look. Alex eyed Lena's look realizing her mistake. "You never told me her name," she realized.
"No," Lena said softly. "No, I didn't."
Alex nodded. "Well...shit."
"Yeah," Lena said dryly.
"You know, manipulating reality was the easy part, lying, not so much," Alex admitted as red energy flowed from her fingertips. The flower orchard reverted back to its original form, all dead with no flowers. The sky was filled with smoke and the temperature rose dramatically. It was hell on Earth, the California desert. Alex's clothes reverted back to a red outfit with pants and a cloak jacket. Her naturally short reddish hair became longer and a much brighter red. Her eyes were red as well, completely possessed.
"Holy shit," Lena realized.
"Climate Change, it is a bitch," Alex frowned.
"I know, right?" Lena agreed, looking around. "Alex, how are you doing this?"
"Alex is gone. I am what remains," Alex told her.
"I've failed you, Alex," Lena realized as she stared at her.
"I'm not your failure, Lena. You didn't kill Alex Danvers...I did," Alex smirked. "The same way I will destroy you if you challenge me."
"Alex, what has happened to you?" Lena asked horrified.
"I now know the truth. My mother and father can be mine again," Alex replied.
"What do you want with the multiverse?" Lena demanded.
"I'm going to leave this reality and go to one where my parents are still alive," Alex replied.
"Your mother is still alive," Lena pointed out.
"She's not my real mother," Alex replied.
Lena gave her an odd look. "You've been possessed by another Alex from another universe. You let our Alex go."
"If you knew there was another universe where both your parents were still alive, wouldn't you want to go there?" Alex tempted.
"I've accepted my parents' death," Lena told her off.
"I know what self-deception looks like," Alex said knowingly.
"What you're doing, what you plan to do is a violation of natural law. If you take that child's power, it will kill her," Lena lectured.
"She's not a child. She's an Insane Kryptonian hybrid. Her power could wreak havoc on this world and many others. Her death would be for the greater good," Alex argued.
"That's the kind of justification our enemies use," Lena pointed out.
"Like when you gave Rhea a portal bringing her fleet to this world, when you polluted the planet's atmosphere with lead, when you tried to cure Sam all by yourself, and when you wanted to control the planet with Myriad?" Alex questioned.
"I did what I had to do," Lena said stubbornly.
"You break the rules, and you get instant forgiveness. I break the rules and now I'm the enemy," Alex said resentfully. "That's fucked up."
"What happens now?" Lena wondered.
"Go back to the DEO and prepare to hand over America Chavez by sundown peacefully. After that, you'll get your Alex back and you'll never see me again," Alex told her.
"And if we don't?" Lena asked.
"Then, it won't be Alex Danvers coming for you. It will be the Dark Phoenix," Alex threatened.
"We are so fucked," Lena realized as Alex walked off.
DEO
Lena went back to the DEO slightly unsettled and told Brainiac 5 and the DEO leadership everything. America Chavez was also present. "The Phoenix Force," Brainiac 5 identified with a horrified look.
"Alex is gone," Lena said somberly. "The Phoenix has her."
"The Phoenix is an entity of unfathomable power. She can rewrite reality as she chooses and there are prophecies that she will either rule or annihilate the cosmos," Brainiac 5 said grimly.
"If she gains control of America's power, she could enslave the entire multiverse," Lena added.
"The continent, the country, or the girl?" one DEO agent asked confused.
"Yes," Lena replied.
"So, the person trying to kill me, you told her exactly where I am," America summed up.
"Yeah," Lena admitted awkwardly.
"Well, okay then," America said wide-eyed.
"We must arm every agent...with non-lethal weaponry. The DEO must become...a fortress," Brainiac 5 said to everyone.
DEO agents went to the armory and gathered non-lethal pulse rifles for the upcoming battle. The DEO, itself, was a large, armored facility in the middle of the desert several stories tall with a large base. It was defended by anti-aircraft guns. Among the DEO agents were weird-ass aliens such as one with a bull's head. "How about weapons that actually kill?" America asked Brainiac 5.
"A few years back, the DEO decided to do away with lethal weaponry," Brainiac 5 informed her.
"Yeah, you might want to rethink that one or is it still polling well?" America mocked.
"If we use lethal force, we're no different than our enemy," Brainiac 5 told her.
"I don't know, that sounds like bullshit," America doubted as a storm approached the DEO.
DEO agents got ready as a glowing-red Alex emerged from the storm. "Choose your words wisely," Brainiac 5 said to Lena.
"Yeah, no pressure," Lena said dryly.
Lena floated up to confront Alex. "All this for a child you met yesterday," Alex said peeved.
"Alex, you're justifiably pissed off. You've had to make terrible sacrifices," Lena said sympathetically.
"I saw my little girl die. Don't speak to me of sacrifices," Alex said angrily referring to her Esme.
The storm faded away as Alex calmed herself down. She floated over to Lena to get close to her. "Give me what I want, and I'll find a world where you can be with Kara," she tempted.
"The full might of the DEO stands against you," Lena warned her.
"I'm shaking," Alex mocked.
The DEO's energy shields then went up. "Do not dare to enter these... tax-payer-funded grounds," Lena said lamely.
"You have no idea how reasonable I have been," Alex glared.
"I don't think conjuring the giant spaghetti monster to be reasonable," Lena chided.
"Sending that creature after her instead of myself...was mercy and, in spite of your hypocrisies and insults, I've begged you to safely get the fuck out of my way," Alex told her off. "You have exhausted my patience, but I hope you understand that what's about to happen is me being reasonable."
Alex then fired point-blank. The DEO shields blocked the red-energy attack from hitting Lena. She gave Alex a smirk and then rejoined Brainiac 5 on the roof. "The shields will hold."
"We must protect America at all costs," Brainiac 5 said to his men.
"The continent, the country, or the girl?" a DEO agent asked.
"Yes," Brainiac 5 confirmed.
Furious, Alex fired on the shield from different angles looking for a weak spot. The DEO shook as Alex repeatedly fired on the shields. Unable to get past the shield, Alex entered the mind of a random DEO agent and telepathically instructed him to turn off the shield generator. The DEO agent casually left his post, went to the basement, and turned off the shields. Alex immediately fired on the DEO blasting DEO agents on the roof and punching a hole through the fortress. Anti-aircraft guns lit Alex up with non-lethal pulses.
The hits merely annoyed Alex. She targeted the gun crews and blasted them off the DEO roof, disassembled the cannons, and then threw the cannon pieces down on several agents. "Fire at will," Brainiac 5 ordered.
DEO agents fired non-stop their pulse rifles. Alex fired on the DEO with lethal shots killing several DEO agents with each one. The roof was blasted full of holes from Alex's barrage. "Fall back inside," Brainiac 5 ordered his men.
Alex landed on the roof with a thud and looked around sensing for minds. Upon sensing one man was alive, she incinerated him on the spot. Alex then casually walked inside the DEO but was blocked by Lena. "If you want the girl, you'll have to go through me."
"Fine," Alex said and prepared to fire on her.
"Protego," Lena said as Alex fired on her. The red beam hit Lena's shield and bounced around the room nearly hitting Alex. Lena threw a glass on the floor breaking it. "Gemino,"
The glass shards began to replicate rapidly. Alex moved away from the self-replicating glass as it attempted to overwhelm her. Eventually, the entire room started to explode with replicating glass while Lena remained protected inside her bubble. Alex waved the glass into water and then dropped down to another floor. "Well...shit," Lena realized.
Alex steadied herself as she dropped from the ceiling and faced off against Brainiac 5 and America. DEO agents attempted to rush her only to immediately turn into puddles of waters. Lena suddenly teleported into the room. "You sacrificed all those lives just to keep me away from my parents. That's kind of fucked up," Alex chided.
"You took those lives. You cannot be allowed to cross into the multiverse," Lena declared.
"I'm not a monster, Lena. I just want to be with my parents," Alex said.
"Your parents are dead, Alex," Lena told her.
"But they're alive in every other universe. I know they do, because I dream of them every night," Alex said tearfully. "Every night, the same dream," she said as she showed them red orbs of her with her parents from various universes. "And every morning, the same nightmare."
"When you get there, what happens to the other you? What happens to that Alex? Fuck her, right?" Lena questioned.
Alex gave her no answer and simply stared. "Serpensortia!" Lena said as several snakes were conjured around her. The snakes immediately flew at Alex only to be incinerated immediately.
"Well, I'm out of ideas," Lena admitted.
Alex took hold of Lena telekinetically and slammed her against the wall stunning her. Brainiac 5 unleashed several ring devices at Alex only for them all to incinerate in her red aura. Alex took hold of Brainiac 5 and slammed him to the floor knocking him out. Alex then targeted America, the last one standing. "You know what? I've assessed the situation and I'm leaving," America said as she placed two fingers to her forehead and concentrated.
Alex fired on America as she created a portal in space and time. Lena saw what was happening and grabbed a hold of America as the two suddenly disappeared.
America took Lena on a trip through the multiverse without any real control. They ended up seeing the Tribune angels, a pulsar, the Utah desert, the Fortress of Solitude, a bug planet, the bottom of an ocean, a busy city street, a future city with transportation pipes and flying drones, hell, the Cretaceous period with dinosaurs, a major city where they were transformed into 2-Dimensional cartoon characters, an apocalyptic wasteland city, a dimension where everything was composed of only perfect squares splitting their faces apart, a universe where everything was literally paint, a black-and-white 1800s city, several alien cities of various types and terrains, and finally the rooftop of a skyscraper.
"Hooollllyyyy Fuuuuucccckkkkkk!" Lena shouted as she went through all the universes rapid-fire.
"Yeah, I haven't completely figured it out, yet" America admitted.
"Yeah...no shit," Lena agreed and proceeded to throw up.
"Who needs drugs when you have my kind of power?" America said wide-eyed.
"This looks like Central City," Lena identified.
"I sense...liberalism...diversity...inclusion...tolerance...acceptance of many many sexual deviancies," America said thoughtfully.
"You need to open a portal and bring us back," Lena insisted.
"I don't know how," America shrugged.
"You just did it," Lena pointed out.
"And we just had the greatest acid trip of all time," America shot back.
"Brainy is back there with Alex and I'm the only hope he has," Lena said seriously.
"He's just a drone, one of billions," America rolled her eyes.
"Wait...what?" Lena wondered. "Brainy is just one man."
"Seriously? In my universe, there are more of him than people," America said dismissively.
"Well, maybe a version of you in this universe can control her powers," Lena suggested.
"I'm from the future and I'm completely unique to my universe. There is no other version of me," America told her.
"Fuck it. Even if we could go back, I have no way of stopping Alex," Lena said defeated.
"How about we find another version of you?" America suggested.
Earth-1 Central City
The two walked the streets of Central City where environmentalism had taken an extreme turn. All the buildings were covered in vegetation to make the city look green. America stepped out into traffic only to be pulled back. "Red is the universal stop," Lena lectured her.
"Yeah...but I'm a princess. I can do whatever the fuck I want," America insisted.
"Not in this universe you're not," Lena reminded her.
America proceeded to get ice cream from a stand and then didn't pay for it. "Hey, you didn't pay for that!" the stand owner said outraged.
"Pay?" America wondered.
"You don't have money in your future universe?" Lena asked incredulously.
"No," America shook her head. "I'm given a quota of goods and services in accordance with my rank."
"Look, I got this," Lena said handing over her credit card.
"It's declined," the stand owner said pissed off.
"Damn, it must not work if you're in another universe. I don't carry cash with me," Lena said frustrated.
America merely clapped her hands knocking him out. "Shall we continue?" she asked walking off.
Lena frowned but walked with America around Central City. "So, those other universes, were we paint in one of them?"
"Don't even bother questioning the physics on that one," America rolled her eyes.
"How many universes have you been to?" Lena wondered.
"Sixty-nine...including this one," America said seriously.
"That's a lot...wait, you're just fucking with me, aren't you?" Lena asked losing patience with her.
"So, what's your deal with Kara? Are you enemies, friends...lovers?" America questioned.
"We don't have time for this," Lena shut her down. "By the way, who even allowed you to go universe hoping? Where are your parents?"
"One day, when I was seven, I went through a portal and never found them again," America said.
"Oh, that's so sad," Lena said sympathetically.
"Actually, I ditched them on purpose," America corrected.
"That's horrible. You are the worst kid I have ever met," Lena scolded.
"You know what? This is a waste of time," America said dismissively.
"If your parents are anything like you, they're going to find you and give you a stern lecture," Lena warned.
"So, you're into Kara?" America asked curiously.
"It's complicated. How do you even know about that?" Lena asked flustered.
"Because in my universe, you blew it," America said. "I'm guessing you blew it in your own universe, too?"
"It's not meant to be. Supergirl can't be with a woman. It just wouldn't be accepted," Lena muttered.
"Maybe it would be accepted here," America pointed out all the gay-pride flags everywhere.
Lena and America finally arrived at STAR Labs and went inside. There, they found Chester at the reception desk. He looked up and gave Lena an amazed look. "Wow, just wow, it is such an honor. I always knew this day would come," he said brightly.
"Oh, really?" Lena wondered.
"My sister," Chester said giving Lena a hug.
"Alright," Lena said awkwardly.
"Tell me everything about your universe," Chester requested.
Inside STAR Labs, Lena, America, and Chester had a chat while drinking tea. "A multiverse traveler and Lena Luthor, herself," Chester said amused.
"Well, just because we landed here doesn't mean we're safe," Lena said worriedly. "Alex can still summon shit to attack us even here."
"The Phoenix Force...right," Chester nodded. "We took care of it in this universe. That thing is too dangerous in the wrong hands."
"Damn straight," Lena agreed.
"It's all theoretical but the Phoenix from your universe could project their consciousness into another version of themselves. It's like puppet theatre but evil," Chester explained.
"I'm going to need the Elder Wand if I'm to face off against the Phoenix," Lena said seriously and stood up way too fast. "Whoa, I feel...fucked up."
"What was in that tea?" America asked as she felt it, too.
"They elected me to drug you, two. Imagine that. They selected the black man to drug two women...kind of fucked up, isn't it?" Chester asked resentfully.
"Yeah," America nodded and then passed out.
"You son...of...a...biiitttccchhh," Lena slurred her words and then passed out.
Earth-1 Midvale
Alex was visiting her parents when she suddenly became possessed by the Phoenix from another universe. From Alex's perspective, the lights went on and off, the house shook, and she started seeing things that weren't there. The Phoenix then took over her mind completely. "Something wrong, Alex?" Eliza asked concernedly.
"Nothing, mother," Alex said. "I just need to...return some video tapes."
"Well, okay then," Eliza shrugged.
Alex went over to her parents and embraced them. Suddenly, the Phoenix lost connection as a DEO agent tried to stab her in her own universe. Alex fired on the DEO agent, lighting her on fire and watching as she burned to death in front of her. Alex then glared at Brainiac 5 currently chained up with energy cables around his body. Alex pushed him back onto the roof.
"In case anyone else wants to fuck with me," Alex glared as she summoned two wounded survivors from the wreckage into the air and began to torture them. The three squirmed and cried out as they were being telekinetically burned and beaten.
"Stop!" Brainiac 5 beseeched her.
Alex killed the survivors instantly and then dissembled Brainiac 5 ruthlessly ripping his organic parts from his cybernetics into two bloody piles. "Now, I can have peace and quiet," Alex said as she went back to her meditation.
Earth-1 Central City
Lena and America woke up in glass cells. "This universe sucks ass," America complained as she had green Kryptonite handcuffs on her.
"They took my wand," Lena said concernedly. "Hey, you, lab coat girl. Just so you know, it doesn't end well for those who fuck with me."
The lab coat girl turned around revealing herself as Kara Zor-El. "Kara?" Lena wondered.
"Hello, Miss Luthor. Your wand is undergoing testing," Kara said.
"Testing?" Lena questioned.
"Yes, you and your wand may be infected with radiation or diseases we're not yet aware of," Kara said simply. "Hence the cells. This is Earth-1. Miss Chavez, here, is from Earth-38. I haven't yet determined where you're from, Miss Luthor."
"You sure know a lot about the multiverse," Lena said impressed.
"Yes," Kara confirmed.
"How did you end up working here?" Lena asked.
"I volunteered after your funeral," Kara said nonchalantly.
"My what?" Lena thought she misheard.
"Your injuries are different, fascinating," Kara said as she looked over a scan.
"My injuries?" Lena asked confused.
"Your mental trauma with water, daddy issues, narcissism, delusions of grandeur, hyper-sexuality are all much higher with you," Kara noted from Lena's brain scan.
"What were we in this universe?" Lena asked curiously.
"What do you mean?" Kara asked with a blank look.
"Forget it," Lena shook her head. "Kara, look, we're all in real danger. You have to let me out. I know you don't know me but...," Lena beseeched her.
"I have been ordered to keep you in your cells. You're too dangerous, Miss Luthor," Kara denied.
"The Phoenix is going to come looking for that girl and she's going to rip this place apart atom by atom until she does. And it doesn't matter if you're the Super-Friends, Justice League...," Lena said to her.
"We're actually Team Flash," Chester interrupted as he entered the room.
"Really?" Lena rolled her eyes.
Lena's cell then opened for her to be escorted away. "Don't let anyone hurt that kid," Lena said to Kara as she followed Chester. Once Lena exited the room, Kara came before America.
"Now, we shall discuss who you really are," Kara eyed her.
Chester escorted Lena into a circular hall. "You are now called before Team Flash: Chester P. Runk, technical support, Elongated Man, field agent and detective with the world record for the longest penis, Black Canary, greatest screamer, Frost, completely frigid, and the fastest man alive, Flash."
"Hello, Lena," Flash said friendly.
"Not impressed," Lena frowned.
"Is this a joke to you?" Frost asked outraged.
"Yeah, one of you is named after a fucking bird," Lena rolled her eyes.
"Be lucky Black Canary doesn't engage with you in conversation," Elongated Man warned.
"She going to chew me out? I've been chewed out before," Lena said dismissively.
"This one is even more arrogant than ours," Elongated Man noted.
"At least I'm alive," Lena pointed out.
"For now," Frost said threateningly.
"Look, your presence here threatens to destabilize reality. The larger the footprint you leave behind, the greater the risk of an incursion," Flash said gently.
"Do you...listen to yourself?" Lena shook her head dismayed.
"Team Flash is here to make the difficult decisions no one else could, to determine what to do with you and the child," Flash said.
"So, if you have anything serious to say, now is the time," Frost told her.
"When the Phoenix arrives, we're all fucked," Lena said seriously.
"Oh, we can handle her," Frost said confidently.
"No, no you cannot unless you give me the Elder Wand," Lena insisted.
"From our perspective, the greatest threat to the multiverse is not the Phoenix but...you," Flash said somberly.
"I'm just a corporate heiress that picked up a spell book in a small-town Canadian occult bookstore," Lena downplayed.
"We should tell her the truth," Cecile said as she entered the room.
"Our final member, Ce-Seal-Your-Fate," Chester introduced.
"What truth?" Lena asked impatiently.
Earth-38 Himalayan Temple
Alex made her own fortress in an ancient temple. Brainiac 5 was at her side observing her preparations. She ended her meditating severing the connection between her and another Alex. This was the true Phoenix. "You wondering what happens now," Alex assumed.
"Naturally," Brainiac 5 said curiously. "However, if you could force Kameron to send you anywhere you want, why steal her power for your own when you know it would kill her?"
"And what happens when my parents get sick, lose their minds, waste away, and die? What if they're murdered by demons and angels like before? In the infinite multiverse, there are an infinite number of spares, a solution to every problem. I won't lose them again," Alex told him.
"You will find it exceedingly difficult to control everything," Brainiac 5 warned.
"But I can. I was meant to rule everything, to create life, to destroy life, but that's not what I want. I just want my parents back," Alex said tearfully.
"At the expense of a child's life?" Brainiac 5 questioned. "Is it not sufficient to know there are versions of yourself still united with your parents?"
"No," Alex replied angrily.
"Well, okay then," Brainiac 5 said.
"I know you long enough to know you can't be trusted," Alex said knowingly and then cast him off the cliff where he disappeared through the clouds. Alex then went back to her meditation and connected herself to the Alex on Earth-1.
Earth-1 Central City STAR Labs
"You, like always, decided to save the world on your own," Ce-Seal-Your-Fate said.
"You believed our salvation was in Myriad," Chester continued.
"And guess what? It didn't," Frost said bitterly.
"You confessed to us that things had gotten out of hand. Through Myriad, you had nearly killed the entire human race," Flash told her.
"You did locate the Elder Wand to help us defeat Thawne once and for all, but one threat still remained," Ce-Seal-Your-Fate said.
"Who?" Lena asked playing dumb.
"We tried to stop you but in the final battle against you, you destroyed yourself," Flash said vaguely.
"God forbid you guys actually kill someone yourselves for once," Lena rolled her eyes.
Alarm bells suddenly went off. A TV screen showed Alex easily killing the STAR Labs security forces. "The lab has been breached," Flash realized.
"Well...no shit," Lena said obviously.
"She's headed towards the child," Frost said alarmed.
"You know, somehow 'I told you so,' just doesn't quite say it," Lena mocked.
"Watch her, we'll soon return," Elongated Man said to Chester and Ce-Seal-Your-Fate.
Team Flash then left the room leaving Chester and Ce-Seal-Your-Fate behind. "Lena, if you manage to escape, get to the Elder Wand," Ce-Seal-Your-Fate told her.
"Cecil, we can't do that...can we?" Chester asked confused.
"I believe we can trust in this one," Ce-Seal-Your-Fate said confidently. "Just because someone stumbles on their way doesn't mean they're lost forever."
"Your optimism amuses me," Lena admitted.
"We'll soon see what kind of Luthor you are," Ce-Seal-Your-Fate said and then left.
Elsewhere in the lab, Alex was slaughtering fools left and right. She beheaded the last lab guard and then telekinetically blew his head apart unnecessarily. As Alex walked closer to America's cell, Kara considered what to do. She looked towards the approaching Alex and then back to America, back to Alex, and then back to America.
"Mother...please," America pleaded.
Team Flash entered the scene blocking Alex's path. "Alex, stop. You've possessed an innocent woman. Let her go," Elongated Man beseeched her. "My father abandoned me. I know your pain."
"Your mother is still alive," Alex pointed out. "She can mourn over you."
"Alex, Black Canary can destroy you with one whisper from her mouth," Elongated Man warned.
"What mouth?" Alex mocked as she sealed Black Canary's mouth. Black Canary struggled to open her lips and tried to scream at Alex. Instead, it backfired blasting the back of her head open. Black Canary then fell to the floor dead with a collapsed skull.
"Not the sharpest tool in the shed," Alex mocked Elongated Man.
Immediately, Elongated Man shot his arm towards Alex to restrain her. Alex summoned Elongated Man off the floor, turned his limbs to ribbons, and worked her way up his chest and shoulders. Elongated Man cried out in pain and horror as his body was completely shredded. Finally, Alex forced his head to explode.
"Tweet that shit," Alex taunted.
"Oh, no you didn't, bitch," Frost said angrily as she fired an ice beam at Alex. At the same time, Flash sped to her side. Alex was able to catch his movements and telekinetically slammed him into a pillar.
Alex evaded Frost's attacks and fired on Flash missing each time. Frost and Alex fired at the same time creating a beam war. With her other hand, Alex summoned a statue and threw it at Frost slamming her into the wall, shattering her into ice fragments. Flash sped around Alex faster than the eye could see. Alex attempted to track him only to get body-slammed to the floor.
"Haven't you had enough?" Alex mocked.
"After what you've done, you're going to jail for a very long time," Flash told her.
Alex rolled her eyes at that not threatened in the least by him. Flash sped around Alex getting several punches at her faster than she could react. Alex powered up her red aura and cast Flash away from her. "I can do this all day," Flash told her.
Alex froze Flash in place and then telekinetically ripped him in two at the midsection. The two Flash body parts fell to the floor in a heap. "Evidently not," Alex mocked.
In the other room, Chester and Lena could hear the battle end. "Yeah, they're not coming back," Lena said grimly.
"I have hope," Chester said naively.
"Your circus of clowns are all dead," Lena told him.
"Why would you say that? They're my friends," Chester said hurt and offended.
"What are you going to do about it? Cry?" Lena taunted.
"There's nothing wrong with a man crying," Chester said wiping away tears.
"You're an insult to all token black nerd characters," Lena said.
"The fuck?" Chester asked angrily.
"Ray Palmer considers you to be an embarrassment," Lena continued.
"Why would you say that? You don't even know him," Chester protested.
"You think you have a chance with Allegra? Dream on," Lena rolled her eyes.
"There's still hope," Chester denied.
"Steve Jobs owned a PC," Lena said finally.
"You've gone too far, witch!" Chester shouted enraged and immediately attacked her. Lena dodged his attacks and elbowed him to the face. She then kicked his legs underneath him. Chester distanced himself from Lena and then activated his rocket boots to body slam Lena back against the wall. The two struggled as they wrestled with each other and slapped one another like little girls. Lena finally kicked Chester to the head knocking him out. Now free, Lena ran back to save America.
In the other room, Kara was still uncertain whether to free America. "Enough!" Ce-Seal-Your-Fate said to Alex as she came within striking distance of America's cell. Ce-Seal-Your-Fate entered Alex's mind and searched for the real Alex underneath the Phoenix's control. Inside, she noticed a door to her ruined Midvale home. Ce-Seal-Your-Fate cautiously went through the door and then found a pile of rubble.
"Help me!" Alex shouted from within the rubble.
"Holy shit," Ce-Seal-Your-Fate said startled. "Okay, if I help you out of the rubble, the spell should break."
"Yeah, no," the Phoenix said as she grabbed Ce-Seal-Your-Fate's head and broke her neck.
In the real world, Ce-Seal-Your-Fate fell to the floor dead. Upon awakening from her subconscious, Alex realized Kara and America had escaped.
Kara and America made their way to the basement level when they caught up to Lena. "You guys alright?" she asked concernedly.
"Better than Team Flash, am I right?" America smirked.
Lena ignored America's immaturity. "Cecil said the Elder Wand is here. Can you take me to it?" she asked Kara.
"I don't trust you," Kara said bluntly.
"I know I was a bitch in your universe, but the Elder Wand is the only way," Lena insisted.
"The other Lena spoke the same way," Kara noted. "You remind me of her."
"This Lena is different. Mother, trust her," America beseeched her.
"Mother? What the fuck?" Lena wondered.
"We don't have much time," Kara said urgently as Alex moved toward them.
The three moved at Lena's speed through the tunnels. Kara would activate blast doors as they went to slow Alex down. Still, Alex was gaining on them and forcing the blast doors open with her power. Blast doors continued to close on Alex as the three of them ran. Alex blasted through each of the doors and kept gaining on them. Eventually, the three made it to the end of the tunnel and closed the last door behind them. This time, Alex didn't even bother to blast through the door but merely phased through it.
"I warned you not to fuck with me," Alex glared with red eyes.
"Alex, if you're in there, hold your breath," Lena warned. Kara fired heat vision beams into the ceiling several times causing the water to rapidly flow into the tunnel. Kara, Lena, and America then entered the last room. "The Elder Wand is here but only the other Lena has ever opened it," Kara informed Lena.
"What's behind it?" Lena asked uncertainly.
"The door is coated in lead," Kara shot down.
"Open the door," Lena said after a brief pause.
Kara forced the door open revealing a magic room. Inside, the Elder Wand was placed on a pedestal. Lena cautiously picked up the Elder Wand and felt the magical power go through her as it accepted her as its new owner. Suddenly, America was summoned backward into Alex's hands. Kara immediately fired heat vision. Alex caught the heat vision beam in her hand and fired it back at her creating an explosion. The explosion ripped the Elder Wand out of Lena's hands and burned it to nothing.
"Well...shit," Lena muttered.
Alex telekinetically held Kara and Lena off the floor in a hold and then forced America's mind to open a portal. Once the portal was open, Alex tossed America through the portal to Earth-38 in front of her original self in the Himalayan temple. The portal then closed behind her. Alex-1 was then disconnected from Phoenix and collapsed on the floor.
"Alex," Lena called out.
Alex shakily got back to her feet. "What have I done? I killed all those people," she said horrified.
"You were under the influence of another Alex in another universe," Lena excused.
"This power, the Phoenix, it's still inside me full of rage. You have to destroy me to prevent it from happening again," Alex said sacrificially.
Kara advanced forward with red eyes. "No, we must have hope," Lena rebuked.
"The needs of many outweigh the needs of the one," Kara replied coldly.
"You can't do this. You two are sisters," Lena protested.
Kara and Alex gave her an odd look. "Not...in this universe," Kara replied.
"Yeah, we're more like colleagues," Alex corrected.
"In my universe, you two mean the world to each other. You can still have that in this universe, checking each other, keeping each other safe. There may come a time when you need Alex's powers," Lena said.
"It's too risky," Kara replied. "It must end here. I saw my world die. I won't let it happen here."
"Remember what your crest represents. That S means hope. You are the hope of this world. Don't betray that now," Lena pleaded.
Kara hesitated moved by Lena's speech. Alex's eyes then turned red and suddenly STAR Labs was annihilated in a flash. A red wave went through Central City wrecking all the buildings and incinerating all life on the spot. The entire planet suffered the same fate until nothing was left alive.
Earth-38 Himalayan Temple
Alex and America faced off inside the temple. "This isn't what your parents would have wanted," America told her. Enraged, Alex took hold of America telekinetically and slammed her down on an altar.
"They'll never know," Alex said dismissively.
"They may not but you will," America pointed out.
Earth-1 Central City
Kara and Lena found themselves in a destroyed city. Lena dropped her magic shield that had kept her alive. Kara's civilian clothes had been incinerated in the blast revealing her black Supergirl uniform underneath. "Well...shit," Lena muttered.
Kara gave her an annoyed look and scanned the city for Alex. The sky was filled with ash, and pieces of buildings floated aimlessly in the sky as gravity no longer functioned as it should. "Reality has collapsed in on itself," Kara deduced.
"We need to find a portal device," Lena said obviously. "America doesn't have much time left."
"We must neutralize the threat here," Kara insisted.
The two walked the streets with water washing over the pavement, cars floating about, and bridges twisting and turning. "Well, I can see why you were so worried about Alex," Lena said dryly.
"Stay here," Kara instructed as they found a stairwell leading to the clouds. Kara cautiously went up the stairs, into the clouds, and found herself inside Alex's Midvale home.
"Stay where you are," Alex ordered.
Kara stopped as Alex came into view. "Did you come to forgive me? To save my soul?" Alex asked.
"No," Kara said honestly.
"It won't always be like this. I'll create a new Earth, a new reality. I can make Earth like Krypton, your home," Alex promised.
"Is that your will, Alex, or that of the Phoenix?" Kara asked.
"The Phoenix takes a heavy toll," Alex admitted.
"Not just on this world but also on the body you have taken," Kara told her.
"Are you gay, Kara?" Alex asked bluntly.
"What?" Kara wondered.
"Are you gay, Kara?" Alex repeated. "It's the question Alex's friends always keep asking her. Of course, I'm gay. Who wouldn't be with the power of a god to rewrite reality? But it was all a lie. I couldn't be my true self. I was always meant to bring about the apocalypse, I was just looking for the right opportunity. I waited patiently for Alex to be gay but...it never happened. Just more lies. So, I'm doing Alex a favor, to make her gay for the first time in her life."
"If you help me create a new world, I'll let you live," Alex offered her.
"I don't think so," Kara refused.
"No? Well, okay then," Alex said as her eyes flashed red, and reality began to unravel around her.
Kara fired heat vision into a deteriorating building so that it would slam on top of Alex. The debris stopped falling and remained suspended harmlessly over Alex's head. She then shoved it aside. Kara then fired heat vision point blank. Alex blocked the beam with her hand and returned it to its sender. Kara moved out of the way as the beam went past her and destroyed a building behind her.
"Much to learn, you still have," Alex mocked.
"It's obvious this contest cannot be decided by our powers but through our knowledge of epic rap battle," Kara said obviously.
Alex smirked and began her verse. "When the Phoenix is rapping off, you'll need a Kleenex. There's no defense against the hex of the Dark Phoenix. The finale of your show had already set the bar low. When the CW let you go, that was your death blow. They brought you to the DCEU, another edition that hits you with hiccups, left to become a perves sidekick, like a new 52-card pick-up. Family disputes aren't new to your issues, with them always wanting to kill you and when you eventually succumb to injustice, the cycle continues. Never finding a secure haven, leaving your friends shaken, looking for relocation, that's so craven."
"I'm sure you feel you've given me so much to reflect on, but maybe I should wait until your raps are met with retcons. Putting down this fairly queer girl, I'm more than willing to, makes sense you die as many times as your movies blew. Show some growth, something two movies couldn't put into motion, outshone by both Logan and Joe Rogan. Oh, and also, while lesbian love is flowing with interest, getting too close to your sis is a no-go, probably not in your best incest. The thought is nice that you could be more than a plot device but who am I kidding, you only exist to serve Mastermind's bidding. Alex, you scarlet bitch, those fingers twitching are best kept outside, when your franchise ended, I felt no pride," Kara replied.
Alex immediately lashed out by quickly turning the ground, the ruined buildings, and the air into Kryptonite. Kara sped away from the scene faster than Alex could see. Heat vision beams from all directions in quick succession went straight for Alex. Rotating quickly, Alex deflected every beam and fired back. Unable to locate Kara in the city, Alex disassembled the city to flatten the surface to give her a clear view. Buildings were crushed and blown away as Alex was given a clean slab to work with. After-images of Kara appeared all around Alex to confuse her. Alex fired at each image in vain. A crest seal suddenly hit Alex wrapping her up in it.
"The fuck?" Alex wondered as she tore it off her.
Kara suddenly punched Alex at lightspeed creating a shockwave that sent debris into space and created a massive crater. The explosion roasted the surface and threw dust into the air creating an instant nuclear winter for the entire planet. When the dust faded, Alex remained having changed reality at the last possible moment to make her invulnerable. Kara suddenly punched Alex hundreds of times per second all over her body. Alex braced for the hits while changing the ground to Kryptonite around her. Kara immediately backed off as the Kryptonite spread around Alex's feet.
"You must be feeling it now," Alex smirked. "The Kryptonite dust in the air."
In space, Kara looked fatigued as she tried to regain her strength. Even so, she could still hear Alex's taunts from the surface below. Desperate for victory, she fired heat vision on the planet itself causing it to explode in a fireball. A few seconds later, the asteroid field that was once Earth reassembled back to its original form. Kara then noticed the sun had gone red. Immediately, she lost power in space. Kara made her way back to the ruined Central City and hit the ground with a thud.
"Now, at the end, you finally understand that reality will always triumph over power," Alex said to her.
"But the mind is stronger than both," Lena said as she appeared before Alex with her Elder Wand pointed at her.
"What?" Alex wondered.
"Stupefy," Lena fired at Alex stunning her and dropping her unconscious. Suddenly, the ruined city changed to that of the STAR Labs basement where the Elder Wand had been held.
"The Imperius Curse?" Kara figured.
Lena simply nodded. "Impressive, most impressive," Kara complimented.
Earth-38 Himalayan Temple
Alex paralyzed America in place and started to summon the power out of her. America screamed in pain and cried out. "Mother...please!" she pleaded. Alex broke her concentration on America as she felt a powerful presence approaching. Supergirl sped towards the temple creating sonic booms as she did. Kara then landed inside the temple and confronted Alex.
"Hypocrite, you never hesitate to rewrite reality when it suits you!" Alex spat.
Kara eyed America still suspended over the altar and then back to a red-eyed Alex. "I never pretended to be perfect. Now, hand over my daughter."
Alex fired on Kara with a red burst. Kara used her cape to block the blast just in time. Alex threw another blast only for Kara to evade it. After-image clones of Kara appeared all around Alex confusing her as to which one was real. Kara then fired a white telekinetic beam at Alex to paralyze her in place. A red aura flared around Alex as she tried to get out of Kara's grip.
Kara then backtracked towards America and tapped her body freeing her. "What the fuck are you doing here in this time?" Kara asked her.
"I made a lot of questionable decisions. I ditched you and father. I caused chaos and mayhem in dozens of universes. I didn't think it would get this far. I'm sorry," America said tearfully. "I'll give up my power and never use it again."
"No, I need you to trust in your power. It's the only way to stop her," Kara told her.
"Okay," America nodded.
"Now, together, we're going to kick Aunt Alex's ass," Kara ordered.
Alex freed herself of Kara's hold and fired on them. Kara deflected the blast on her arm fraying the skin and muscle off it. Kara hissed in pain as the red magic went up her arm, to her chest, her neck, and up one side of her face. Alex continued to torture Kara until America punched her hard to the face distracting her. America then revealed her true power as she went Super Insane. Her black hair instantly became gold, her dark eyes became a glowing blue, and gold flames roared around her. Electricity sparked around her frame as the temple violently shook.
"That's right, bitch," America smirked.
"Not-uh," Alex shook her head.
America punched Alex to the face several times and kicked her near the temple ledge. America went for another punch only for Alex to catch this one. Alex quickly overpowered America and pushed her a few steps back away from the ledge. "You were saying, bitch?" Alex taunted.
"I can't beat you," America realized.
"No shit," Alex agreed.
America then grabbed Alex and teleported them to Earth-1.
Earth-1 Midvale
America teleported Alex to the Danvers' residence in the living room. Jeremiah and Eliza were on the couch watching TV when the two suddenly appeared. "What the hell?" Eliza wondered.
Alex stared at her two living parents and then threw America aside. "Mom, Dad," she said stunned.
Lena then exited a portal into the Danvers' house. "Stay away from her. She's not your Alex," she warned.
"I'm your daughter!" Alex said to her parents. "Get away from them!" she ordered Lena and then telekinetically threw her against the wall. Lena hit the floor with a thud knocked out.
Eliza immediately went over to Lena to see if she was alright. "Alex, stop it," Jeremiah ordered.
Alex simply stared at him with both love and hate in her expression. "I'm not a monster. I just wanted Alex to be gay," she said tearfully as she went to her knees before him.
"You won't find happiness looking to the past. Go find love in the present, in the future," Jeremiah advised as he touched her face.
America then grabbed Alex and teleported her back to Earth-38.
Earth-38 Himalayan Temple
Alex remained on her knees lost in thought in the middle of the temple. Kara was still on the floor with half her body frayed. "Well, this has been an eye-opener," America said wide-eyed.
"Kameron, fix this fuck-up," Kara ordered.
America nodded and then instantly teleported away. Alex suddenly felt the Phoenix's hold on her vanish. She looked at Kara with a horrified look. "I opened myself to the Phoenix. Now, I have to close it. I can't be allowed to be tempted by the Phoenix again," she said mournfully.
"You won't be alone," Kara assured her.
Alex nodded and then fired red bursts into the temple causing it to collapse. The entire temple fell upon them killing them both.
Earth-1 Central City
Several hours later, Lena and Kara looked over Alex still unconscious on a medical table. Suddenly, Alex's energy levels decreased as the Phoenix was destroyed in every universe. "So, she destroyed the Phoenix in every universe," Lena realized.
"She did the right thing," Kara mused.
"Yes, yes she did," Lena confirmed.
"What's your universe like?" Kara asked curiously.
"It's very beautiful," Lena said looking directly at Kara. "I wish I could show you."
"I'd really like that, but I have work to do," Kara said getting back to business.
"Yeah, I know," Lena acknowledged. "Kara...I love you. I love you in every universe. It's just...I'm scared of the bad press," Lena admitted.
"Face your fears," Kara advised. "And know that you're not alone, sister-in-law."
Lena smiled amused at that and then reality shifted where they all disappeared.
Earth-CW
Lena visited Brainiac 5 at the DEO. The DEO was back to the way it was before with no one remembering the Phoenix attack. The timeline had been completely retconned. Lena and Brainiac 5 inspected some DEO trainees practicing their martial arts. "You seem to be having some trouble there, Agent Chavez," Brainiac 5 noted.
"This martial arts training is harder than it looks," America said wide-eyed while wearing a DEO uniform.
"Slow down and be patient," Lena advised.
Lena and Brainiac 5 then walked over to a balcony. "You seem flustered?" Brainiac 5 sensed.
"Fine," Lena said dismissively. "I want to ask you something, Brainy. Are you gay?"
"Interesting question," Brainiac 5 considered.
"You'd think dating a transwoman would get you there," Lena figured.
"With all of us having infinite selves, I'm simply grateful some of us are," Brainiac 5 said brightly.
Earth-38 Midvale
Kara and Alex stood next to the graves of Eliza and Jeremiah Danvers. "I still can't believe they're gone. I can't help but feel I was the cause," Alex said tearfully.
"You?" Kara wondered.
"It's no accident that all of these things have happened to us. There's something about me that is evil and causes terrible things to happen to those around me," Alex said seriously.
"Look, Alex, being gay isn't that big a deal," Kara rolled her eyes.
"Don't...," Alex chuckled in spite of herself. "...make me laugh. I'm trying to have a serious conversation with you. I feel I am cursed and that you have had to suffer because of me."
"Don't worry about it. I deserve it," Kara downplayed.
"When I punched you across that field just before I lost Esme, that was real for you, wasn't it?" Alex recalled.
"Yeah," Kara admitted.
"There's something deep down inside me that's full of rage. I think it's a reflection of my own rage against myself for all my failures in life. Kara, I need your help more than ever," Alex said seriously.
"Soon, I'll turn your rage into joy. I promise," Kara said sincerely.
"What if that's not enough?" Alex asked.
"In the future, the Vindicators make the Justice League look like little bitches. Together, we'll stop you," Kara assured her.
"Then, what I am waiting for?" Alex asked herself.
"You afraid?" Kara taunted.
"Not in the least," Alex said with a smile.
End Credit Scene
Earth-CW National City
Lena took a stroll down National City when someone called her name. "Miss Luthor." Lena turned around and saw Supergirl wearing a sparkling purple suit, purple eyeliner, rainbow cape, and rainbow-dyed hair.
"You've failed to achieve Supercorp. We're going to fix that," Kara said forcefully and then opened a portal to her own universe. "Unless you're afraid."
Lena smirked and walked alongside her. "Not in the least."
Author's Notes:
*Supergirl No Way Home had no one remembering Kara as a consequence of her idiocy. However, the ending implied all of that would be fixed cuz we can't have permanent consequences in superhero stories.
*The Dark Phoenix has made appearances in AOS Season 4.5 and has been referenced in other seasons. The Dark Phoenix will return.
*Kameron, the daughter of Kara and Mon, has her father's power of instant teleportation but also has the ability to teleport to other universes and time periods commanding the 4th dimension. She presumably went back to her own past to stop herself from ditching her parents and thus collapsing the entire timeline that sparked the Phoenix's slaughter. Since Kameron was powerful on her own, could teleport to the past at any time, and purposefully ditched her parents, this qualifies her as a little shit in this story.
*The battle between Kara-1 and Alex-1 was entirely in Alex-1's head via the Imperius Curse.
