Now into his second year the request of Kamino's Prime Minister Lama Su has finally been put into development - the start of his Commando training. Like before they put him through flash training designed for the clone Commandos which included but not limited to effectively work with a team on the level of a Commando squad which would teach him how to depend on his squad to survive. However from his previous training from his ARC trooper training which he is still taking part in, he had learnt how to survive by himself so Lucas ignored the last part. Despite this, as per agreement between Lama Su and Jango Fett they didn't fully put him through the complete course of Commando flash training.
A few months later Lucas had reached a part of his training in both programs, Advanced Recon Commando and Commando, something Lucas was dreading when he found out - interrogation resistance training otherwise and more commonly known as torture. The training was designed to resist torture in physical, emotional and mental conditions and like the others, Lucas during his first session screamed so loud the noise could be heard down the corridor.
Outside the torture session Lucas was given little time to recuperate and put throw the clone Commando live fire exercises in the facility known as the killing house. Such exercises were designed to give the Commandos a sense of reality of combat long before the regular troopers, however many Commandos also died during these operations. The killing house also was used to teach Commandos in anti terrorism scenarios as well as search and rescue and protecting a high value target.
Lucas wasn't put through the full training program of the clone commandos as they adapted the training to include only what they thought was necessary.
Like last year Lucas also continued his own training but unlike last year, had time to socialise with his friends Havoc, Blitz and Colt. They usually hung out in the firing range or the cantina and spent much time answering their questions and explaining what he had been doing the year before.
They told Lucas that they and the other ARC troopers had been busy observing clone officers and those showing greater potential than the rest would be put into an program dubbed as ARC training program, an advanced program designed for certain clones. However the program's training was grueling with the idea of these participants becoming independent and creative, once graduated they are now fully fledged ARC troopers and rewarded with the right to take nicknames to be used instead of their numerical designations. The clone Captains known as CC-2224 took the name Cody alongside CT-7567 who chose the name Rex and clone Marshal Commander CC-5052 named himself Bly.
Several months later the 17 year old cadet had spent much time at the mercy of his interrogation resistance instructors and had finally managed to focus himself into having a degree of pain tolerance but also had the side effect of changing him somewhat emotionally and his personality, the training starting to have an effect on his mind. He wasn't having mental problems but was starting to make him more wary, focused and alert to danger.
In the commando training facility Lucas used the time to get familiar with the commando weapon called DC-17m Interchangeable Weapons System also simply known as DC-17m by the commandos. He had spent long enough wielding the weapon to master it, however felt that the weapon wasn't for him but took the time anyway in the small chance he ever had to use it.
Whilst at the ARC trooper firing range Lucas practiced with the blaster designed for ARC troopers known as WESTAR-M5 blaster rifle, however the blaster was rarely used by the best soldiers the clone army had to offer with most preferring the DC-15A Blaster Rifle or the DC-15A Blaster Carbine. Some of the elite clones like the clone Captain Rex instead chose the DC-17 Hand Blaster as their favoured choice of blaster. Lucas personally favoured the DC-15A Blaster Carbine and the DC-17 Hand Blasters as they felt more fitting and instinctive with his combat style and work well paired together.
Nearing the end of the year Lucas' pain tolerance had reached an unvering level even to the Mandalorian mercenaries as whilst under torture the young soldier barely flinched or made any noise. Lucas used this newly found pain tolerance to his advantage as he utilised his sheer will power and determination to continue fighting despite any injuries until the point he could barely move.
Lucas having spent so much time around the Mandalorian mercenaries felt learning new languages would be beneficial to his future Military career so for the remainder of the year studied the Mandalorian languages Mando'a and the Concordian variant of the Mandalorian language. Lucas also planned to eventually learn the languages, Mirialan, Togruti, Pantoran, Twi'leki and Zabraki as he felt this would be beneficial to him whilst on operations behind enemy lines and conversing with the local population.
Throughout the year Lucas had also worked on his physicalities and through intensive and brutal training, now sported a physical fitness and conditioning far surpassing the rank and file of the clone army.
His commando training in the killing house was going very well but found himself preferring search and rescue operations over anti terrorism and protecting high value targets, however he knew it was inevitable at some. The martial arts training as both an ARC trooper and the commando training had pushed him to his limits and had also given skills and knowledge in a wide variety of martial arts so Lucas felt confident he could hold his own in a fight without his weapons but obviously would try to not be in such a situation, nonetheless everything's an uncertainty in combat.
During the times Lucas had spent with Havoc, Colt and Blitz, Lucas had got to meet the clone Captains Rex and Cody, however he wasn't around them much and only ever rarely saw them in the cantina when eating with the other ARC Troopers.
