Ch 5 Finding Moll

The town was quiet and it was lit with torches. Feza easily slinked her way through the town without being detected by the sleeping guards. Feza rolled her eyes, seeing how incompetent these guards were.

She stopped and sniffed the air, catching Robyn's scent. Her scent trail to Robyn was a light green, so she wasn't far. Not to mention, she thought she could smell Móll's scent too.

"Mammy?" the young wolfwalker whispered. But she shook her white and black fur. "No, it's gotta be my imagination," she said, brushing it off. She needed to find Robyn.

After a few more minutes, she heard yelping and yelling. "Wolf! Kill it!" Lord Protector commanded. Feza's black wolf ears perk all the way up when she heard that voice. "Robyn. No! Aaaaarrroooo!" Feza howled, throwing her head up, flattening her ears

She then took off in a full gallop towards where Robyn is. When she got there, she jumped on on soldier's helmet, knocking it down over his eyes. He yelled out from the impact.

"Feza?!" Robyn whimpered, ears dropped. Robyn had heard her howl. Feza landed in front of Robyn, teeth bared as she growled at the soldiers, mostly at Lord Protector.

"Another wolf. Kill them both," the deceitful man ordered. "Robyn, follow my lead," Feza aqsaid, looking at Robyn for a momentbefore back at the soldier, who dropped his staff.

"Now!" Feza barked, jumping on the soldier's helmet again. so she could jump over them. Robyn followed suit and they turned a corner as they were being shot at. The townspeople started to chase them.

"Down here!" Robyn said, jumping down through a barred window. Feza slipped through the barred window just as the townspeople ran by them with lit torches. When they were gone, the girls sigh and they walk through a doorway, pushing the door open seeing the scullery kitchen. They could finally talk now.

"Feza, why'd you come back after me? Shouldn't you be back with Mebh and the pack?" Robyn asked. "I know, but I needed to see if you made it back to your human body okay. But obviously not from what I saw," Feza said, dropping her ears.

"I did, but something drove me away from it," Robyn said. "What? What is it?" Is it the same as what I've been smelling?" Feza said, tilting her head and stepping forward.

"Yeah. You think it's...?" Robyn said, looking towards the doorway beside them. "Let's go," Feza said.

The two she-wolves run up the spiral staircase and stop when they get to a long corridor. Feza's tail stood up and she sniffed again, seeing that it was coming from an open door at the end of the corridor.

"Robyn, down there," Feza said, starting to run down the corridor, her paws gently making a thumping sound on the wooden floor.

Robyn followed her just as the soldiers made their way to where the wolves were standing. Feza looked up, ears perked up all the way when she heard a familiar voice from the end of the room they were in.

"Feza? Girl?" the voice said. "Mammy?" Feza whispered, walking forward with her ears dropped. "Feza?" Robyn said, walking behind her. They walked to a large cage with cloth over it.

"Hello?" Robyn said. Feza saw a pair of green eyes from the darkness of the cage. "Only a wolfwalker can make another. Where did it happen? Where ? s the wolf that bit you near? Feza, where's Mebh? Is she alright?" Moll said, stepping into the light.

Feza's tail wagged and she walked up to the cage, resting her forepaws on the square-shaped cage. "She's okay. t's so good to see you, mammy," Feza said, ears dropped. Robyn did the same as Feza.

Moll gave her adopted daughter a nuzzle. "I'm glad to see you, my dear," Moll whispered, "I can't wait to tell Mebh that you're here. She'll be so happy to know you're okay," Feza said, heart beating fast in her chest.

"Yeah, she's in the forest. They've been waiting for you for the longest time," Robyn said. Moll backed up a little bit and her eyes got big.

"What? No, no, they must go!" Moll whispered. Feza stopped and she raised her ears a bit. "Why? We can get you out!" Feza said, walking around Robyn and stepping up on the platform. She started using her nose to push the lock up.

There were footsteps approaching the room, making Moll glance up. "Feza, girl, you two will be killed like this! You two need to go back to your human bodies!" Moll said quickly. "Feza, let me try it," Robyn said.

Robyn tried to open it while Feza walked up to Moll. "We can't leave you here! You gotta come with us!" Feza whimpered. "But I can't, Feza. You and the girl here gotta get Mebh and run! Feza, you must lead them out of here! It's not safe for our kind," Moll instructed.

"But Mebh and I can't leave without you-" Feza started. Mebh growled at her and Robyn. "No! She must not come for me! Feza, you shouldn't have come. You two must run along with her, You cannot wait for me," Moll whispered.

Moll didn't want her daughters to get hurt by the villagers so she had to protect them. "Run, now!" Móll shouted.

The two pups run just as Lord Protector bursts through the double doors. Móll glared at the human through those green eyes.

Lord Protector drawer two revolvers and walked down to a window that was on the adjacent side of the room.

The townspeople were all shouting and clamoring in panic. He opens the window and prays to god above, wondering what he should do.

Feza and Robyn were hiding behind another curtain, staying out of sight.

Lord Protector picks up a lit torch and walked over to Móll. Feza and Robyn slinked their way to where Móll was visible.

"So, wolf. Tomorrow, I will show them I have rated you," he said, pulling the curtain back so he could see the big brown wolfwalker. "Just as I have tamed this land. *Kneels down in front of Móll* They will have nothing to fear if they trust in the lords will," he finished.

Feza and Robyn accidentally step into view, and lord Protector saw them. "Go!" Móll shouted to the pups. Feza and Mebh ran for it, making the man shoot at them.

Feza yelped when she felt a bullet cut her right back leg. Just as they reached the window, Móll tells them that they need to lead the pack to safety.

They both jump out of the window and land in the water below. Feza limped out and Robyn followed behind her.

"Robyn, go to your human body. I need to go to the pack," Feza said, holding her leg up. Robyn didn't have time to waste and did what Feza asked.

Feza went back to the forest to Mebh and the pack. Feza jumped to the forest after Moll told her and Robyn to tell Mebh to lead the pack to safety. How could Feza tell her sister that she had found their mother? She would be upset at her for sure.

Last thing the young wolfwalker wanted was to lose her sister. She galloped through the dark forest to return to the den. She howled to announce her arrival, getting a response from the pack and Mebh.
