Together Forever

Then the sniper turned over the dead body and looked in to his brother's face. 'My brother, my little brother,' he thought. Tears fell onto the younger's face. The sniper's face was wet with tears. It began to rain, as if the heavens were as well. The sniper looked up at the sky, the rain washing away his salty tears. And then he ran. Blindly he ran, bullets showered around him and he screamed in pain as bullets ripped into him. But still he ran. As he ran memories of the past flooded his thoughts.

"Bang, bang!" screeched Liam. "Your dead Sean." The older boy smiled, "Oh but you see I have magical powers, bullets can't hurt me." He ran around the yard laughing, his little brother desperately trying to get him. Soon their mother called them in for dinner, and with smiles on their faces, went into the house.

The sniper, Sean, could no longer see where he was going; everything was blurry from the tears pouring down his cheeks. ' This isn't happening, this isn't happening,' he chanted over and over in his mind, trying to convince himself this was some nightmare. He was feeling weaker and weaker from blood loss, and soon he couldn't go any farther. He fell and lay in the mud, rain mixing with blood. As he lay there in the mud, rain pounding on his back, he felt a sudden peacefulness around him, he lifted his face from the ooze and there stood his brother Liam, smiling serenely down at him. Liam was glowing with an angelic light and from his back were two, large, pearlescent wings. Liam held out his hand to Sean. Smiling, Sean took his dear little brother's hand and together they went up to heaven. Together they will be, forever.
