PROLOGUE: The Infinity Stones

Inspired by the work of , Legends and Marvels. Check it out. It's pretty nice.

Thanos, the Mad Titan, had destroyed the stones using the stones. To quote him, they were "Gone. Reduced to atoms." which struck a blow to the morale of the few Avengers including Captain Marvel, who recently joined via Nick Fury's distress call following The Snap.

On a farm he himself tended, in a planet named Planet 0259-S, also known as the Garden, he was preparing to make a stew from his crops three weeks after he used the stones. Afterwards he destroyed them, serving no further purpose for him beyond temptation, nearly killing him in the process, fusing the Infinity Gauntlet permanently to his left hand, scarring it all the way to the left side of his face.

He was executed by Thor Odinson with Stormbreaker, as partial revenge for killing Loki back on the Statesman when they were found by the Mad Titan himself on the Sanctuary II, and for the murder of countless lives across the universe. All hope seemed to be lost for the following five years, where the entire universe was in disarray and chaos after the Snap had killed off half of all life in every world.

Power, Space, Mind, Time, Reality and Soul. All powerful artifacts in their own right. If wielded by a being powerful enough, said being can become a god in terms of power, with the ability to potentially end an entire universe, the Snap being only a fractional demonstration of what could have been, but luckily, Thanos was firm in his goal of a biological half-eradication, in his belief of giving those worlds plagued or soon to be plagued with overpopulation a greater chance to survive, based off his predictions and experience of the downfall of his homeworld, Titan.

Dr. Stephen Strange had told the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy of the fact that there are infinite possibilites on the day of his death at the hands of the Snap. He himself gave up the Eye of Agamotto's core component: the Time Stone, in his reasoning that this was part of a grander plan in the future to secure victory against Thanos. Yet, he was only human, meaning he couldn't check all outcomes, especially if new ones form right under his nose.

Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, had access to a quantum tunnel that had the ability to travel into the Quantum Realm, one of the many realms that belonged to the Multiverse. The Quantum Realm was also traversed by Dr. Strange via magical means through the Ancient One, his now-deceased master, sending his consciousness through many realms including it, as part of a lesson. Ava Starr aka Ghost, sent him in the realm with a device to absorb and collect quantum energy, and coincidentally, the Snap occurred. During the Snap, no one from the team tending to the Quantum Tunnel was there to calibrate the controls to bring him out of there after that event, with luck in the form of a rat five years later accidentally triggering the controls, bringing him back.

What would be the connection of the experiences of these two men to all this? The real occurrence of new and unknown outcomes.

So, let's explore this particular and interesting scenario: What if Thanos had erratic thoughts during the destruction of the stones due to the pain? What if instead of actually destroying them, they end up somewhere else without him being aware of that? Let us get to that.

PLANET: Runeterra

COORDINATES: UNKNOWN

RECORD OF INTERACTION: Not found in any database within the known quadrants and regions of space in the occupied territories of documented civilizations in the prime universe.

After quite some time, the Infinity Stones had reformed in another universe. The force exerted was enough to cause a varied reaction, with the large contribution of the Reality Stone allowing all the others to bypass the limitation of their existence being confined within the original universe. Thanos's consecutive and repeated use of it within days had stored partial traces of energy into the gauntlet and into himself, with his second and final use oversurging them, akin to a battery being overcharged, after the Stones regenerated their capacity to their maximum level. The result was his scarring and the phasing of the stones into this universe. The rest of the stones' functions finalized their phasing, with the Space Stone bringing them in, and the Power Stone giving a massive boost to all their capabilities. One thing they share, is the ability to attune themselves to any pathway that could lead them back to their home reality.

After materializing above the planet named Runeterra, the gravity of the planet has pulled them into its atmosphere. The skies of the planet soon shone with a rainbow-like radiance, drawing attention to all its inhabitants that were able to observe it. Soon, the stones split away from each other, their trajectories being randomized by physics acting upon their gem forms. They landed on several places of the planet, causing a ruckus in their respective locations. Their presence was not unnoticed, as the aura they gave off was able to be sensed by powerful beings.

DEMACIA
Northern Region
Petricite Grove

The Power Stone landed within the Petricite Grove, a petrified forest that was known for its material, Petricite, which had the ability to dampen and absorb magic. The impact cratered the land, with its distinct hum ringing and its purple glow illuminating a small area of the dim environment, momentarily forming cracks caused by its energies being absorbed by the ground, with the Petricite helping to dissipate it.

FRELJORD
Northern Region
Ghulfrost

The Space Stone, known by its former state as the Tesseract, landed within the icy cairn of the same name where Ashe, the Avarosan Warmother, found a bow of True Ice buried in the rocks. Its azure color blending perfectly with the landscape and complementing the elements. It cracked and shattered the ice it landed on, then was immediately being covered by the snow. In the process, it teleported several fragments of the cracked ice into random places around the high spot, becoming an erstwhile hazard in the form of falling debris.

SHURIMA
Southern Region
Valley of Song

The Mind Stone landed in the unique rock formations of the Valley of Song, aptly named for the sounds produced by the wind blowing through the hollows and crevices as its own phenomenon. It was disorienting and deafening if the wind blew hard enough. Deafened marauders roam at night preying on unsuspecting travelers. The stone's impact produced winds that raised the already-harsh levels of noise to a violent state, causing an unpleasant result, and shattering some of the rocks.

IXTAL
North Jungle
Kumungu

The Reality Stone shook the jungle when it landed, leading to the wildlife to panic for a short while from what caused such an event. A small patch of land around the stone was altered to its opposite: the moist, humid earth turning and becoming dry, cracked soil. The properties of the stone prevented the jungles from affecting the patch, leaving it to its odd state. Slowly creeping outward, it altered the jungle, eliciting attention from all wildlife close to it to flee.

IONIA
Zhyun Island
Swirl Rocks

The Time Stone landed on a high spot within the steppes full of magical rocks that floated in a tranquil state. Its green glow ironically representing one of Ionia's abundant colors exhibited by the trees and their presence in many of its cultural architectures. Its partially-leaked energies causing a somewhat chaotic but orderly alteration of a few floating stones, making them randomly move into different positions, disappear and appear.

SHADOW ISLES
Helia
Vaults of Arcana

The Soul Stone arrived in the Shadow Isles, in the capital of Helia, in a twisted state after the Ruination occurred years prior. It landed through the ruins straight into the Vaults of Arcana. Luckily and unfortunately, the seeping dark magic masked its aura. Unfortunate lesser souls that stumbled on it tried to pick it up out of curiousity, but a terrible result happened: they were ethereally disintegrated. Many other souls around saw the danger, and left the vaults and out into the open. Its orange glow contrasting the ghostly blue soon became a warning to those venturing into the ruins.

Runeterra may soon face another conflict, something that may completely overshadow the Rune Wars. Nothing will stay the same after what has happened this day. The true question is, how will the entire planet handle the ominous tides of war that is soon to come? This was something that Dr. Strange may have never foreseen in all his years.
