Jason and Ray were talking with Sitka about everything they passed through, meanwhile Kenai was talking with Clay and Trent about what they did with his oldest brother. The boy was pretty interested with all the equipment that Bravo had, the weapons, their clothes, the machine that helped Sitka and more. Sonny was telling Koda the story about how they got there since the fly till the ambush, the little kid was very interested on that story. Denahi from his part, he wanted to talk with Chayo but...something prevented him. He wanted to thank her for saving him from the mad man that wanted to kill him, but he couldn't, then without realizing he started to walk towards her.
"What are you doing?! Stop! No, just tell her that you're grateful with her for saving you."he thought
Denahi usually had the ability to flirt with girls, it was easy, he just approached to them, he told them a compliment and the rest flowed by itself. Even he was pretty handsome, at the point he had a fan girl's club. Why this time was different? He felt unsure, he didn't know what to say, his hands were sweating, his cheeks became red, but the worst was the feeling. He felt like...butterflies on his belly. No! It couldn't be that! He just met her, in fact, she was...
But without realizing, Denahi was now in front of Chayo. It was her voice what brought him back from his thoughts.
"¿Se te perdió algo?"

Denahi then saw the dog sited by her side, she was taking out her tongue and shaking her tale wile the girl was scratching her back.
"Yeah, thanks to you too."
Saya barked in answer.
"Can I pet her?"
"Sure."
Denahi layed down and started to caress Saya, at first he was afraid of her, that is to say, the way she attacted the man let him out of words. Now she was a love of a dog, Denahi wasn't a big fan of dogs, even before that one bitted his butt when he was teasing Kenai when his little brother got his totem. Karma!

Then Chayo along with Saya went with the rest of Bravo, once the Team was complete Jason spoke:
"This is gonna sound crazy but...It seems that we...have traveled to the past."
"What?"asked Bravo at the same time.
"What the hell you mean with the past?"asked Sonny who started to become more nervous.
"We don't know exactly"Ray"But..."
"The turbulence at the plain?"Clay
"Quite possible"Jason
"Which time?"Trent
"Judging by the brother's clothes and weapons"Chayo"I say the Paleolithic."
"You mean that we're not just at the mercy of the russians but also of dinosaurs and-"
"Eh Sonny"Chayo interrupted him"Dinosaurs are already extincs by those times."
"Well that's a good new."
"But there's also others great predators like sabertooth tigers, wolves, bears, mountain lions, not mention that they're the tripple of size from those we know and plus-"
"HOW THE HELL DO WE GET BACK?!"
"Wow! Easy there M. Phobia"Clay"What's the plan?"
"Well first, we find a safe place to spend the night"Jason"We'll try to find radio signals to comunicate with Havoc. Once we found them, we'll see how to return to 21st century."
"And the russians?"Trent
"If we found them here it means that they're trapped too"Ray"The bad new, is that they're more and trying to find signal..."
"They could intercept us and give them our position"Clay
"Although we have an advantage over them"Jason
"Which is...?"
"They don't have a dog."
Everybody turned to see Chayo.
"I need to know our possition, somethig from Havoc and put Saya against the wind."
"Perfect"Jason"Trent the map."
Trent took out the map from one pocket and putted on the ground.
Then Jason had an idea, if the brothers knew those lands, they could help them.
"Ray bring one of the brothers, the oldest would be better."
Ray came back with Sitka and showed him the map. Sitka recognized the territory at the same instant he saw the map.
"We're here"he said pointing at a small valley surrounded by the woods.
"We need to get to this point"said Ray showing another point on the map"There's where the plane should have landed."
Then Bravo noticed the surprise on Sitka's look.
"Hey, is everything okay?"Sonny
"There's my village."
"Could you take us there?"Jason
Sitka thought for a second, he knew they weren't the bad guys but taking them to the village was also a risk. The ones named Russians could follow them to the village better armed and with more men. But on the other hand, if someone was waiting the team and they have just saved them...the village could be protected in case of an attack.
"Alright, I'll take you."
"Thanks"Jason"I know what you're thinking, but I promise you that we won't let anything bad happens to your family and your village."
Bravo started to take everything they could from the Russians, weapons, medical kit, even if the engines of the vehicles weren't damaged they had took them. It was a miracle they didn't explode on the fire affront.
Jason then created the formation: Chayo would be on the front with Saya to secure the path. Behind her they will be Jason, Ray and Sitka to guide them. Then in the middle will be Sonny with Koda and to cover the back they will be Trent, Clay and Kenai. But before of that, from Denahi's big mouth came out a big: I'm going with Chayo.
"WHY THE HELL YOU SAYED THAT???!!!" Though the boy, but then the girl answered him.
"Eh, Denahi, I usually go in the front, alone."
"(goodness) But I wanna come with you (Ahhhh!!! Could you please shut up???!!!!)"
"No, you don't understand. My job is to make sure the path is safe, you could even get hurt."
"It's alright Chayo"Jason"He can go with you."
The girl sighed but then spoke:
"Ta bueno pues, just stay behind me, for your safety, okay?"
"Oh, sure. (My safety? What is she talking about? )"
Then the group started to walk down the river, everyone was keeping a conversation with their companion. Well...almost everyone, Chayo was focused on her job, paying attention at everything Saya could smell. Denahi wanted to talk with her, he just didn't know what to say, also he felt very shy. He hated that feeling, he already had a lot of experience flirting with the girls from his village and he wouldn't let himself be intimidated by an outcast.
"Come on Denahi cheer up, is easy, just approach to her, tell her a compliment and start a conversation" He told himself.
Denahi got closer to Chayo without realizing that now he was by her side.
"Hey, so...what are you doing?"
"I told you to stay behind me."
"Sorry, I just wanted to make sure you were fine."
"Are you taking care of me?"asked the girl smiling and lifting an eyebrow.
"If you want to call it like that."
"Look, I appreciate that, but I don't need you to look after me. I can take care of myself."
"Oh, so you're a tough girl, huh?"
On that moment Saya sniffed something on the ground, the dog sat down in signal that she found something. Seeing this Chayo stopped abruptly, lifting a fist. Jason did a sign of stop lifting a hand to rest of the group, the brothers stood confused before the reaction of Bravo Team.
"Why do we stop?"Kenai
"Saya found something"Clay
Chayo lay down to see what Saya had found, it seemed to be under a bunch of leafs. It had a circular form, so Chayo thought the worst, fortunately, the wind moved the leafs. Leaving uncovered a trap, the girl sighed in relief and stood up to tell the group.
"False alarm, is just a traAAAAHHHHH!"
Chayo didn't realized that the trap was just under her foot, so when she stepped back, she stepped on the rope and the trap activated catching her foot. Now the young soldier was hanging from a tree upside down with all her mates looking at her. Nobody, not even the brothers, could hold a laugh before this scene.
"That's it, keep laughing. Let's see how funny is when you will fall on one."
"Let me help you"said Denahi who was recovering from the laugh attack.
"No, I can do it myself."
Chayo putted her legs together, then putted her hands on her hind head and did a sit-up to try to reach the rope. She reached it at the first try, so she took from her boot a knife and started to cut off the rope...incorrectly. Chayo was cutting off the rope OVER HER HAND.
"Ay pendeja"she told herself when she realized what she just did. The rope broke and the soldier fell, hopefully Denahi was quick and reached to catch her on his arms.
"You okay?"he said smiling at her, but it was a flirty smile.
"Yes, now could you please put me down?"she said coldly.
Denahi did what she said, so Chayo took Saya's rope and kept walking. The rest of the group kept forward.
"You're not gonna take your boyfriend's hand rookie?!"said Sonny trying to tease her.
Chayo just kept walking but she lifted her hand and showed her middle finger without looking back.
"What does that sign means?"asked Koda to Sonny
"Eh...is better if you don't know it Koda. And don't do it neither."
"Why not?"
"Is disrespectful."
"Oh."
Time was passing, Chayo and Denahi were pretty quiet for a long time. 'Till the young hunter broke the silence:
"So, Chayo, right?"
"Rosario, but I prefer people call me Chayo."
"Why?"
"Shorter, easy to remember."
"Oh, and...what does it means?"
"I don't know"she said trying to end the conversation.
Chayo's intentions weren't bad, she was just focus on her job because she didn't want anyone to get hurt. Her job was to make sure the path was safe. If she got distracted, that could mean the death for all of them.
She knew that from experience...
"Hey"Denahi"You okay?"
"I'm focus."
"Sorry. So...you're warriors."
"Yep."
"Well, us too"he said trying to flirt with her.
"No you're not, you're a hunter. It's not the same thing."
"Okay, what's the difference then?"
"You kill animals for food and clothing. I kill people so they don't kill me. You kill only male adults, sometimes I have to kill an innocent little girl so she doesn't kill my friends. At war a kid can kill a group of soldiers with just one weapon.
"Wow, that was cold."
"It's the truth. I've seen it."
But all the sudden, from the woods came out a man with a suicide vest. He was running to the group yelling something, in fact, the man was a Taliban. But what was he doing there? Plus, Saya was pretty calm...like if he wasn't even there. The rest of the group was the same, how they couldn't see him?!
She was about to shoot him but then...Chayo realized what was going on. It was happening again.
Quickly she putted her backpack on the ground, opened it and started to look for her medicine bag. Once she found it, she took out a small plastic container and took two pills. She then took her canteen and took a big drink of water.
Once she calmed down, she saw that the Taliban was gone.
"Are you okay?"asked Denahi worried.
"Ah? Yeah yeah, I'm fine"she said as she got up.
"Everything in order?"Ray
"Yeah yeah just...I...though I saw something. Let's keep moving."
