"Sen...dude. Wake up!" Mako sighed as she pushed and shook. It didn't seem to matter what she did, her friend just was not waking up. "Moron, I told him it was going to be an early day. Did he listen-nooo." Grumbling under her breath she makes a beeline for the bathroom.

She told him, again and again to Not stay up late. His gaze had been glued to some new manga they had bought the other day and had of course given her a few mumbles instead of actually listening.

Now as a fellow book and manga lover, Mako could understand the desire to binge read-but today was going to be a fun day! There was no way she was going to miss out because Sen decided to stay up to who knows how long last night.

She hummed as she turned on the water in the bathroom sink to hot. It's day three of their fun little vacation. Their first day was spent chilling from the travel lag and getting unpacked at the hotel. Day two was checking out the various stores, and getting shopping souvenirs out of the way.

Now today? Today they were going to head to the zoo! To most people it seemed a tad bit lackluster, but Mako loved animals, and according to the brochure Raccoon City's Zoo was home to a huge variety of beasts.

Tigers, lions, their mascot Oscar the elephant, and several others that the young woman couldn't think off the top of her head. After washing her face, the red head grabs a washcloth, making sure to soak it in the boiling hot water.

"You're getting up one way or another my friend..." Twisting the burning, wet fabric steam rose to her glasses, blinding her for a moment. She waited for her vision to clear before making her way out of the bathroom.

He was still asleep, much to her frustration. She counted quietly to herself. "One...two...three." Wack! "AHHHHHHH!" His eyes nearly popped out as he leaped out of the bed...still screaming.

Taking a solid minute to realize where he was, and more importantly what occurred. "The hell Mako!?" He narrowed his eyes as his friend who was grinning rather cheekily at him. "About time. Come on we're burning daylight."

Sen grumbles and mumbles as he looks for his clothes and wallet. "Where are we going again?" The red head rolls her eyes, still annoyed. Of course he would forget or he was too drowsy to really recall today's plan.

"The zoo. Lions and tigers and bears-oh my~" That snapped him awake, even more than the hot washcloth. "Oh yeah!" Now fully motivated and focused practically dragged her out of the room. They fled down the stairs, nearly stumbling as they make it to the front end.

Somewhat surprised to find no one there. It was odd, but they shrugged it off, getting into the car. "This is going to be awesome~ I can't wait to see the tigers and wolves~" Raccoon City's Zoo was full of wildlife, having enough territory to where it took up a quarter of the already huge city.

"The brochure said something about elephants too right?" Sen went through Mako's bag, taking out the little booklet, glad he remembered to sneak it into her belongings. "Let's see what it says here." While Mako went through traffic, maneuvering carefully while her passenger read out loud.

"Come join us for a day of fun as we lose ourselves into the ecstasy of the wild. From under the sea with the dolphins to the glorious skies belonging to the eagles come take a visit today and see the many rare and beautiful beasts that live here, including our prized mascot and friend Oscar the elephant."

It was a captivating little hook. In fact when the two of them were first discussing places to visit for their vacation, the zoo here was what originally caught their attention. The stores and historical landmarks essentially sealing the deal.

Green eyes twinkled as her friend finished, taking a quick turn. "Oscar? Not Jumbo?" Sen chuckled as he shook his head. "I know, wasted opportunity. Still this should be fun~" The tickets they got would last them the whole day, but when it came to places like the zoo, it didn't take long for it to swarm with people.

They planned on going in, seeing the cool animals that caught their eye, then leave. It helped that the weather was perfect, just like the newsman(surprisingly) predicted. Though with nice sunshine and a crisp breeze meant the parking lot was packed.

"Shit." Mako twisted her mouth as she went up and down the sections. "Keep your eyes peeled." Honestly she hated this, she always felt like a vulture when hunting for a space. It was somewhat ironic that she was doing it for a zoo. "There!"

Thankfully it didn't take long with two pairs of glasses enhanced gazes to spot one. Immediately she swerved in, nearly taking her passenger out in the process. But he was prepared for this(for once) gripping the support handles on the ceiling of her vehicle.

One too many times where he nearly went flying out the window in the past made him well aware of her sharp movements. "I think you made an enemy." Both glance as a car honks by, the driver giving them the middle finger.

All Mako does is huff. Honestly people could be so rude. It's not like they weren't going to do the same exact thing. "They're just pissed I got here first. Come on-we got animals to see and pictures to take~" They couldn't get out of the parking lot fast enough.

Lines were everywhere, both friends feeling claustrophobic, maybe they should've picked another day to go...Still they stood strong. Waiting patiently for what felt like an eternity before finally reaching the booth. "Enjoy your time!"

At least they already had their tickets paid for. Mako winced as she took a gander at the lines full of people trying to get in. "Come on-let's go!" Sen all but dragged her in, he was struggling to breath. "Finally!" A sigh escaped both of them as people walked around their fatigued forms.

It wasn't even noon and it already felt like they ran a marathon. "Where to first?" Quickly Mako swiped a map, holding it out for the two to examine. "Let's start with the alligators and work our way up." There were several different pathways that all intermingled towards the exit.

"You don't wanna see the tigers first?" He was sure she'd pick them since they were one of her favorite animals. "Let's save the best ones for last. That area has lions, tigers and wolves-and I wanna lot of pictures!" Already her camera was out, fully charged and empty.

Sen snorts at the twinkle in her eyes, but couldn't blame her reaction at all. He was just as excited. "Let's go!~" They follow the trail, trying to stick close together so they don't get separated, but it was a bit of a challenge for two solid reasons.

The first was the fact that there was just too many people there. They felt like packed sardines with the several clusters of individuals following the narrow pathways. And the second...was the fact that Mako was a fast walker, while she could zoom and maneuver around her fellow strangers with ease.

"Makoooo! Slow down!" Sen however could not. "You can't be tired already!" He preferred going at an easy slow pace, taking his sweet time. "I'm not but we got the whole day, what's the rush? Smell the lilies or whatever that saying is."

She deadpanned as he finally caught up to her. "The phrase is 'take a moment to smell the roses." Her friend rolls his eyes as he grabs ahold of her backpack. "Yes thank you smartass. Point is, we got the day to check things out. Don't need to run a marathon." Mako could only huff as she crosses her arms.

Despite being super pumped to check out the exhibit...she WAS taking her time. Still she wasn't in the mood to argue and just kept moving, making sure she didn't drag him(as funny as that would've been) as they reached the swamp pits full of alligators.

"Whoa!" Sen leaned over the rails, squinting as he saw a series of browns and greens shuffling through the murky water. "Looks like we got Anders, Miki, Rosi and Jerome." Mako took a picture of the little descriptive plaque in front of the alligators' area before meeting her friend.

Tilting her head she tried to angle herself for the perfect shot. "Who comes up with these names?" Reaching up to her tippy toes before clicking her button. "Perfect~ Who knows? The staff? Why what's wrong with them?"

The two hop down, allowing other tourists to take their place. "Nothing, they're just weird. I mean Miki and Rosi? Jerome and Anders?" His companion could only offer a small shrug. "Meh. I like Miki's name." They continue on their way.

Taking pictures and having similar conversations involving the monkeys, rhinos, Oscar the Elephant, Max the king of beasts alongside his pride of lionesses and dolphins. "We're not going through the left trail..." Mako frowned as she glanced Sen's way.

"Why?" All she gets is stunned silence, as if he couldn't believe she could even ask such a question. And as he pointed down on the map, he honestly couldn't. "We go that way and we deal with the bugs exhibit." The redhead could only blink in confusion.

Still not entirely seeing the issues. "So?" Now it was his turn to give her a deadpanned expression, completely baffled and exasperated with her reaction. "So? SO!? One word Mako. Spiders. Big, ugly abominations that should be set aflame-and that doesn't count any other creepy crawlers in there!"

Granted neither of them were bug fans, still she didn't see a problem since they would be in containers. Totally safe to check out with no risk of getting harmed. "Nope! We're going this way." Not that he could see reason to care about that important detail.

Sighing she follows him, taking the right route. Leading them towards the birds section. Which on one hand was great because there was a huge variety of them flying all over the area with some even landing on some of the guests in the hopes of getting treats. Meaning awesome pictures.

But on the other...it was full of high pitched screeches and chirps. "I think I'm deaf!" Smashing through their eardrums as they stumbled through the exit. "What?" The two were starting to get tired, having gained throbbing headaches from the birds however there was still the bears, wolves and tigers to check out.

They were almost done. Just a few more. "Hey, what's going on?" Or at least so they thought as they reached the entrance for the wolves only to be stopped alongside a bunch of other visitors. "I'm sorry but no one is allowed entry beyond this point."

Mako and Sen shared a glance in confusion as the individuals in this little crowd started getting annoyed. "Why not!? We paid to get full access to all the zoo exhibits. What's the problem?" The security officer gave a stern look as he addressed everyone.

"Currently this section of the exhibit is off limits due to renovations. It's not safe for anyone that's visiting." The redhead frowned in confusion, sighing as she and her friend walk away. A few follow their lead, though some guests stubbornly try to argue with the guard.

Without word, the pair make their way back towards the entrance, both disappointed with the lackluster end to their exploration. "I don't remember seeing renovations for the zoo when I bought our tickets..." Sen was annoyed, tapping his finger on the dash as his partner in crime buckles up.

Something didn't seem right. "I didn't hear any sort of noise behind those gates, didn't see any crew or tools either." Mako could only shrug at this point as she started making the drive back to the hotel, still somewhat depressed.

She was seriously looking forward to seeing the tigers and wolves. "At least the rest of the zoo was cool, I got lots of pictures to bring back home." Their precious vacation though had its moments, wasn't turning out the way they were hoping.

"I thought the weather was supposed to be good the whole week. Damn weatherman." And by the looks of the clouds in the skies...it didn't look like it was going to be getting any better for the two of them when they pulled into the parking lot.
