Heart burning, Fai smiled. Maybe this time no one would be hurt…

But no, the tide shifted, the sea changed. The raging storm on the horizon was suddenly upon them.

Syaoran. That boy who was not a boy, though more human than Fai, disappeared.

Then there was stillness, as the eye opened up around them and Fai sunk under the waves, mind screaming in ecstasy as he was swept away.

Let me go along the current. I don't want to hurt anyone.

Unheeding, the current lapped at him, pulling him back to the surface.
