Beginnings
The warmth from his hand seemed to spread to his entire being. Dimitri squeezed Rose's hand once more, earning a smile from her.
He didn't ever want to see that smile fade, he realized. Inevitable though it was, he promised himself that he'd everything in his power to see her smile and laughter.
"What?" She asked.
Dimitri shook his head, "Nothing. Just that I love you."
And he would have never thought it would happen but Roza's ears turned pink. She covered her mouth, slightly turning away from him, "Don't say it like it. It catches me off the guard when you say it like that."
His joy was soaring, "Like what?" He said teasingly.
"Like...like you know!" Rose said, now clearly flustered.
He let go of her hand and put his arm around her shoulder instead and continued walking towards the campus, "I know."
She kissed his cheek, "I love seeing you like this. I hope... I hope it never goes away. What we are feeling right now, our happiness, I hope it stays with us for a long, long time."
"I'll make sure that it will."
"I love you."
Dimitri couldn't stop the chuckle that escaped his mouth, "I know."
I just finished Spirit Bound and a convo with a friend.
And, I'm so happy rn.
Can't stop smiling making cheeks hurt happy I mean.
