A/N So I'd just like to say to everyone who reviewed this story you are the best people ever. I started this as just something I wrote in my free time not really expecting it to go anywhere and now it has over one hundred reviews! So first of all thank you and I really mean that. As for those of you who didn't review I love you guys too just seeing the view counter go up makes me happy. Not everyone is comfortable putting their opinion out there or you may think that I don't care about reviews. But never forget that your opinion matters and unless your posting please update I take your reviews very seriously (Especially Criticism don't be afraid to speak up if you find something stupid in the story I won't get triggered I promise). Peacocks and Dogs

23 days until Massacre

Kiba had been starting to feel like a third wheel. Hinata and Naruto we're together almost daily at this point they claim they're just training but Kiba knew better. Shino and Sasuke were at the Uchiha compound a lot as well however them training is much easier to believe. "I don't know Akamaru what do you want to do today?"

"Yip!"

"Ino? No way you remember what happened last time we tried to hang out with her and her friends." Kiba reminded. Akamaru put his paws over his face not wanting to remembers the horrors.

Kiba sighed "Maybe Kidomaru is still home, he lives at Naruto's appartment building right?"

Akamaru nodded "Yip"

"What do you mean for once in my life?!" Kiba growled "I'm right more often then that!"

"Yip!"

"What do you mean I have to watch where I- ooff" Kiba fell as he bumped into a ninja much larger then him.

"Watch where you're going kid." The larger ninja put Kiba on edge his tone was cold and a white halk mask rested on his face.

"Sorry bout that." Kiba said hastily as he ran into the apartment building. "Man What was his problem?"

"Yip Yip!"

"Yeah thanks for the late warning by the way!" Kiba said to his partner.

"Yip"

"No this is not my fault!" Kiba shot back.

"What the hell are you doing?"

Kiba jumped as he Kidomaru snuck up behind him. "Yip Yip!"

"Oh don't act so high and mighty you were surprised too!" Kiba said.

Kidomaru raised an eyebrow "So are you going to explain what's going on or are you just a lunatic."

"Just give me a second I'm argueing with my dog." Kiba said.

Kidomaru sighed "Lunatic it is."

Meanwhile just a few apartments away Naruto and Itachi were having a very important conversation. "So did you finally get those silencing seals up Tachi?" I asked.

"Just give me a second." Itachi grunted "Funijutsu is a slow process."

"I don't see why we have to start putting up deals now. We never had to before." I said.

"Danzō's been much more active after his fight with Shisui. ROOT is everywhere so we have to be more careful." Itachi said as he finished the last seal.

"So were off the grid?" I asked.

"I don't know what that means." Itachi said "But I did finish the seals."

"Alright so let's discuss the elephant I the room." I said seriously "Shisui's gone missing which means that he still has both his eyes."

"But..." Itachi probed.

"But there is still a chance that the Akatsuki might try to recruit him instead of you. Not to mention surprise surprise Danzō's an asshole and won't let you save your entire family."

"But..."

My eyebrow twitched "But you're most likely going to be able to protect a small group even though you are going to have to kill your dad because he is a major player in the coup."

Itachi nodded "You know this would all be much more convenient if you just gave me your notebook."

"Yes because telling someone how they die, how their friends die, and how they didn't get to live in an era of peace is just the best idea." I said sarcastically "Trust me when I say you want nothing to do with this book. If I trusted my memory to be able to recall every detail of the future two years from now I'd burn this damn thing. But my memory isn't even close to that perfect so I have to keep it."

I wasn't sure if Itachi was unnerved by my statement or desensitized to it but either way he changed the subject. "Take this." He threw a scroll at me "It's the Shadow Clone Jutsu, I know you want to be able to perform the normal Clone Jutsu for the exam but with your chakra stores I'd be a crime not to use it."

"Thanks" I said sincerely "I wish I could get you something in return but..."

"You" Itachi said seriously "Just keep Sasuke out of Orochimaru's hands and I'll consider your debt repayed."

"Don't worry Tachi." I reassured him "I won't let Orochimaru have his way with Sasuke."

If Itachi was anything but an Uchiha he would have shuddered "Please don't say it like that."

"Well if that's all you needed I'm heading off to the Hyugga compound." I said "I finally found a Taijutsu style I liked."

"This is a suspicious change of topic."

"It's called the Peacock style."

"And there it is." Itachi sighed "Let me guess did Jiraya name that one?"

"No he made tenticle style." I said seriously.

"Just go, leave I don't want to deal with you anymore."

"Later Tachi" I sighed "Use the fridge tunnel or whatever it is you use to get in here."

"Hn" and with that he was gone.

I had thought that I'd be able to go to the Hyugga compound without any issues but an idiot (two idiots if you count the dog) and Kidomaru was blocking the way.

"Yip!"

"What's with the sarcasm today?" Kiba asked "you're not still mad about that are you?"

"Yip Yip!"

"Well I don't see how that's my problem!"

"So is there any reason you're here?" Kidomaru asked "Because while this was entertaining for a bit it's getting repetitive."

"Yip"/"We're bored"

"So?" Kidomaru asked.

"I don't like being bored." Kiba clarified.

"I don't follow."

"My god just take him to a movie or something." I said as I passed by "It'll get him off your back."

"Oh yeah why don't you do something with him? You don't look that busy." Kidomaru said.

"I'm going to hang out with Hinata." I said.

"So? Just take him with you." Kidomaru said.

"That's a terrible idea." I deadpanned.

"Oh? And why's that?" Kidomaru asked.

I glanced at the door "Kiba hold him down!"

"Wait what are yo-" Kidomaru was cut off mid sentence by the Inuzuka tackling him to the ground.

"Run Naruto Run!" Kiba yelled.

"I'm running Kiba!"

"What the hell is wrong with you people?! Who goes this far to dodge a question?!" Kidomaru yelled.

"Us!" Kiba laughed manically.

"Sorry I'm late." I said sincerely as I met with Neji and Hinata "I got caught up in something stupid."

"It's fine" Neji said "It's not like you're fated to succeed anyway."

"Yeah yeah whatever you say." I sighed "Now let me learn about the ways of the Peacock."

"Are you sure this is style you want?" Neji asked "I'm not going to let you switch later so it's your last chance to reconsider. Do you really want this style just because it has a 'funny name'"

"That was just an extra." I said "I mean I'm irresponsible not stupid."

Neji sighed "Fine, the peacock style focuses on heavy kicks reinforced with chakra. So you can't actually learn any moves until you have better chakra control but we can strengthen your leg muscles."

"Okay how do we do that?" I asked.

"Have you ever heard the phrase fighting with your hands tied behind your back?" Neji asked.

"So why did I agree to hang out at your house agian?" Kidomaru asked.

"You wanted to see the dogs." Kiba answered.

Kidomaru stared longingly at Akamaru "Quick question do you know if there's an adoption center or something here in Konoha?"

"Clan" Was Kiba's simple answer and suddenly Kidomaru was much more excited. "And don't worry about the cost we're dirt cheap. Just don't expect it to be combat ready, if you want a ninken I'm not allowed to help you, clan secrets and all that."

"I just want one as a pet." Kidomaru admitted "I don't remember much from my past but I do remember living with mom and a dog."

"Oh" Kiba said "What kind of dog was it?"

"A mutt" Kidomaru said "brown fur. It was pretty big too. It's weird I can remember that dog more clearly then anything else."

"Well it's called man's best friend for a reason." Kiba joked.

"I feel like it's more then that though." Kidomaru grunted but failed to recall any more information.

"Ah don't worry about it." Kiba said "If it was really that important you'd remember it."

"You know what you're right, worrying isn't going to get me nowhere."

"It's anywhere." Kiba corrected.

"Yip!"

"No I am not a grammar nazi!" Kiba told his dog.

"I'm happy that I'm not going to be able to argue with my dog like those two can." Kidomaru sighed.

Sparring with Neji went about as well as trying to ignite water, I failed miserably. Which was why I had been forced back to chakra control. More importantly tree walking which was great since the only rule for accessing the genin section of the library is knowing how to tree walk. I snickered excitedly 'Genjutsu and poisons here I come.'

In theory Tree walking should have been easy just focus your chakra to your feet and use it to stick to the tree. In practice however... "This is bullshit!" Much less so.

"M-maybe you should calm down Naruto" Hinata advises "maybe you're getting too angry to control your chakra properly.

"Oh you think so?!" I asked passive aggressively "Thanks I'll take a minute to calm down then!"

"Sorry or you're Welcome?" Hinata said unsurely.

"Ugh I'm sorry I'm a bit stressed out is all." I said "There's a lot on my mind."

"Like what?" Hinata asked.

'Figuring out how to contact the demon fox in my chest, limiting the casualties of an event that will surly scar my friend for life, still trying to accept I'm in an anime. Take your pick really.' I thought sarcastically. "It's not important, never mind."

Hinata frowned "What do you mean it's not important why would you bring it up otherwise."

"Trust me Hinata it's nothing you need to worry about." I said as I failed to climb the tree once more.

"So there is something then?" Hinata asked "Why can't you tell me?"

"I just can't okay!" I snapped "Just... just please leave it alone."

Hinata was slightly taken aback but nodded "Al-alright I'm sorry."

"Hinata" I groaned "Kami damn it I messed up agian look how about we stop training a bit early today and go get some dango."

"I never said you could leave." Neji inturupted.

"And when have I ever listened to you?" I asked.

"Fair point" Neji deadpanned "Fine go, just show up tomorrow alright?"

"Yeah whatever you say." I said waving him off "Come on Hinata let's go get something to eat."

The Hyugga followed along muttering "Alone, Naruto, and Yes" over and over agian.

There were three parts of the Inuzuka compound. Because of it's use of ninken it's the largest compound in Konoha. The first part was the same as every other clan compound serving as a place for the clan to live. The second and largest part of the compound was where the ninken were trained it the Inuzuka had their own private dog park and although they could walk their dogs there they prefer having them walked in the village so they can get used to foreign scents.

The final and smallest part of the compound was the public adoption center. While the Inuzuka were primarily dog lovers they cared for all types of animals and decided to train and distribute stray dogs and cats to ninja and civilians alike.

"So who's your friend Kiba?" The shelter was run by Kiba's old grandmother Kegawa. She had the standard Inuzuka facemarks and was accompanied by her incredibly old dog Olumaru.

"His name's Kidomaru he's lookin for a pup." Kiba answered.

"Preferably one with brown fur that'll get big eventually." Kidomaru said.

"Hmm that's very broad you know." Kegawa said "I could bring you a variety of dogs that fit that discription so you might want to see them for yourself."

"I would appreciate that thank you." Kidomaru bowed.

Kegawa led the two down the adoption hall and before they had been walking for even a minute Kidomaru had said "I know the one I want."

"Well that was fast." Kegawa mused "Which one did you pick?"

"I want this one here." Kidomaru pointed to a small brown puppy that had one of his ears missing.

"Are you sure?" Kegawa asked "This ones a bit..."

"Deformed?" Kiba supplied Kegawa smacked him for that "Hey why'd you do that?!"

"You were being dense." Kegawa said "Now why do you want this dog?"

"It just speaks to me... I guess." Kidomaru shrugged "I can't really explain it."

"Works for me" Kegawa said "Have fun with your new pup kid."

Kegawa opened the door and the dog slowly and cautiously made it's way out sniffing around for any potential threats. He then slowly made his way towards Kidomaru the one closest to him. The six armed man carefully picked the dog up. "Don't worry buddy" he said "Nothing bad's going to happen to you. Us freaks got to stick together right?"

"Where did you get that idea from?" Kiba asked seriously "you're no freak and nobody here thinks you are got it?"

Kidomaru laughed softly "Yeah sorry I guess you're right." 'But still...' He thought back to an early memory of his time in Mist, how his family was hated because of their Kekkai Genkai and for the faintest moment he doubted Kiba's words. But in the end it was only for a moment and Kidomaru went back to paying attention to his new dog. "You are now the second member of the Yamaha clan." Kidomaru decided "Your name shall be... Kimi."

"Yap! Yap!"

"You like that name huh Kimi?" Kidomaru asked.

"Yap! Yap!"

Hinata was having a very good time. Despite this situation arising because Naruto had snapped at her the end result was definitely worth it. She would have to figure out what was bothering him eventually though that was a given. But for now Hinata was contempt enjoying what was sadly not a date.

"So Hinata, do anything fun recently?" Naruto asked.

"I trained?" Hinata supplied.

"Yes but did you do anything fun?" Naruto reiterated.

Me and Shino dumped some Itching powder on the girls that helped Ino during Operation Waterboy." Hinata remembered.

"Oh yeah Operation Waterboy good times that was." Naruto snickered. "But I've been meaning to ask you. What's your opionion on this whole thing. The prank war I mean."

"It's fun sometimes?" Hinata said unsurely "I mean I'll keep helping you out l. But sometimes it feels like we're going a bit too far."

Naruto hummed "You think someone's going to get hurt, right?" Hinata nodded "Alright I'll tell Ino we both need to tone it down a bit then."

Hinata blinked "Huh? B-but I thought."

"This is all just for fun." Naruto reminded her "Were not actually trying to hurt each other."

"I knew that." Hinata said "But I thought that you'd be... I don't know upset?"

"Why? You just gave your opinion, and there's no such thing as a wrong opinion. I mean unless it's completely retarded like thinking the planet's flat." Naruto rectified.

Hinata looked away in shame. Naruto growled "It's the elders isn't it?" Hinata nodded "Man fuck those guys. Don't let them tell you what to think."

Hinata laughed softly too shy to say her real thoughts out loud 'Yeah fuck those guys.'
