Hello everyone, thank you so much for the reviews on this fic! I am sorry it has taken so long to update but here it is, I hope to have more frequent updates on both my active fics! Please let me know what you think!

"Happy New year" Peter said, standing in the doorway holding a bunch of flowers. He was dressed in a nice shirt and his smart jeans.

Carla looked at the man she loved standing in her doorway. She looked him up and down, he had broken her heart, he had known how much she needed help but he still let her leave.

They worked on his head together to make him better but when it was her turn, he bailed. That is the way Carla saw it.

"What do you want Peter?" Carla asked, approaching him. He took a step forward towards her, she stopped at a comfortable distance.

"You" he answered confidently "here, I bought you your favourites" Peter handed her the flowers.

She looked at them and then back at him.

"They won't bite you Carla" he smiled.

She rolled her eyes and took them off of him. She then walked towards the kitchen. He followed after her.

"Peter, I know what you are doing and while I appreciate it, I can't forgive you for what you did to me" Carla told him. She placed her hand onto the counter to support herself.

"Carla, I" Peter started.

"Peter, I need you to leave" Carla sighed.

"Carla, I just want to talk"

"No Peter, I think you thought you could just waltz in here and I would forgive you" Carla placed her hand on her forehead, rubbing her finger along it with stress "I was the one that had to leave you standing there, I was the one that needed to sort my head out and I never said it would be forever Peter"

"I know that"

"Peter, you left me when I needed help clearing my head, it was your family that hated me, your son that hated me and I just needed you to come and help me but you didn't"

"He is my son Carla, he has to come first"

"I understand that" Carla said shaking her head "I really do but I needed just a little bit of support for a short amount of time"

"This is good, at least we are talking about things" Peter smiled at her.

She tutted at him and left the kitchen. He followed her through to the pool area in the garden.

Carla leant on the gate to look up at the fireworks "they are beautiful"

"Just like you" Peter said, appearing next to her.

"You can't say things like that" Carla turned to him "not anymore"

"But it's true" Peter smiled at her.

"Peter, I just need some time" she told him honestly.

"I have another day at the hotel and then I have my flight home, I would like to either stay with you here or for you to come with me but I know I will have to work for you to agree"

She nodded at him.

"I can see that you are trying to work on yourself out here" Peter said, looking around noticing telltale signs that she was living healthier.

There was gym equipment around the pool which wasn't there the last time he was here. When they were in the kitchen there was healthy food around and magazines.

Peter placed a kiss onto her forehead. She didn't move as he did it because part of her wanted to rip his clothes off there and then. She knew that he was sorry and deep down she knew she would forgive him but she was in a fragile state, she needed to be careful.

Her mental health was more important to her right now. Since being in LA she had been seeing a therapist.

"I am Peter, I am really trying to work on myself" Carla told him sternly.

"I want to help you with that" Peter said to her, looking into her eyes.

"I wanted you too but now I am not so sure" Carla looked at the ground.

Peter placed his finger under her chin, pulling her face back up to look at him "just tell me what you need"

"I need to forget, Peter" Carla bit her lip, before placing her lips onto his.

Shocked, Peter placed his hand into her hair and positioned his other hand on the small of her back.

He pushed her ever so slightly, leading her to her bedroom without taking his lips off of hers for fear she might stop.

Once in the bedroom Peter pushed her up against the wall as she kicked the door shut. His hand on her hip and the other in her hair.

Passionate, rough kisses being placed onto her lips. She pulled away, looking into his eyes. She bit her bottom lip then pushed him onto the bed. She straddled him, giving him a dirty smile. Her eyes are full of desire.

She might be angry at Peter but she couldn't deny that she missed the sex. She moved her hair to the side of her face, leaning down to place another kiss onto his lips.

Peter smiled into the kiss and with one swift movement he flipped her onto her back. He held her leg in place around him by the thigh, placing kisses onto her mouth and along her jaw line.

He moved to her neck as she moaned into his neck kisses. He was all too happy to continue. He unbuttoned her dress from the chest down to the hem line above the knee. Leaving her laying on the piece of material she was previously wearing.

Peter looked at Carla who was waiting for him, she had black silk lingerie on, which was very pleasing to Peter's eye. Carla smiled at him and was so glad she chose to put those on after her shower earlier.

He placed kisses onto her stomach, Carla grabbed onto the duvet as his touch sent her insane.

It was now four am in the morning. Carla looked up at the man she let back into her bed. He was sleeping peacefully, Carla could swear he was sleeping with a smile on his face.

She looked up at the man she loved and then sighed as she remembered that he left her in her time of need.

She jumped out of bed and placed his t-shirt on. She walked out onto the pool deck, taking a seat on one of the sunbeds and she watched as the sun came up.

In the bed Peter awoke to find an empty bed. He looked at the time, 4:30am. He sighed, feeling the breeze come through the door.

He jumped out of bed putting his boxers on that he had thrown off in excitement earlier.

"Carla" Peter said quietly, noticing that she was on one of the sunbeds "are you ok?"

"Am I enough for you?" she asked, still looking at the sunrise.

"Carla, you are everything to me" Peter told her, taking a seat at the end of the sunbed she was sat on.

"I need to know that you are going to be there, Peter, if we give us another go"

Peter took her hand "Carla, I have been without you for a week or just over and I have missed you everyday"

"But missing someone isn't the same as being there Peter"

"Carla, I love you" Peter kissed her hand "We can work on us, I want to support you and I was a fool to not"

Carla sighed.

"I know you think that you are second best for me but you are the best thing that has happened to me, as well as Simon" Peter told her.

"That is what I am talking about, Simon hates me and so does your family" Carla pulled her hand from his "how are we going to sort that?"

"I can't promise you it'll be easy Carla, but once we have sorted your head out we will go back to weatherfield and face the music together"

"What if nothing changes?" Carla asked in fear of the whole street rejecting her again.

"It will, because we will be stronger and I won't be so stupid anymore, Simon is better, he is more settled"

Carla smiled at him.

"I know you can win him round" Peter told her.

"You have told me that before"

"This time I mean it, once we are both better, then we can fix everything else in our lives" Peter told her, taking her hand in his once more "I love you Carla"

"I love you too" Carla said, placing a kiss onto his lips.

"What's all this then?" the couple hear from behind Peter.

Carla pulls away from her kiss to see Suzie standing there with some friends.

"I brought these back to cheer you up but obviously someone else has done that for me" Suzie said, standing with three men besides her.

"Hello Suzie" Peter smiled, rising from the sunbed to give her a hug.

Suzie looked him up and down noticing he was still in his boxers.

"I will get dressed" Peter blushed.

Once Peter was back in the bedroom Suzie took a seat on the sunbed.

"Guys, go in and get a drink from the fridge"

"What did you think would happen with those men?" Carla asked with her eyebrow raised.

"Well Carla Connor, I thought we could play a few games and have a drink and see where things go but looking at you in what looks like Peter Barlow's shirt, you have already had your fun" Suzie joked.

Carla laughed, placing her head into her hands in embarrassment.

"Well?" Suzie probed.

"He turned up and we talked, we talked about everything and he wants to be with me" Carla told her friend.

"Be careful, we have been here before remember"

"I know, but something is telling me this time will be different" Carla smiled.

Peter poked his head out of the door "is it safe to come out yet?" he asked.

"Yes Peter, we have stopped talking about you now" Suzie stood, to leave them too it "I shall go and entertain our guests then"

Peter joined Carla who was laughing at her friend.

"Good job I came when I did" Peter started "otherwise I would have found you had moved on with one of those Californian guys"

"How do you know I haven't" Carla joked, looking dead into his eyes.

"Carla Connor, I would fight anyone for you" Peter said, scooping her up off of the sunbed causing her to giggle into his chest.

"Peter" she screamed.

"Come on, your bed is calling" Peter said, placing a kiss onto her lips "I'll show you what us Weatherfield men have that those LA boys don't"

"Oh please do" Carla bit her lip and let Peter take her through.

Although their talks about getting back together where just starting, Carla knew that she couldn't resist him for long. If there was something she did know, it was that those big brown eyes would pull her back if nothing else did.

The next morning Carla rolled over to find the bed empty. She got properly dressed this time as she knew Suzie was entertaining.

She walked out into the garden to find Peter sat around the table with the men Suzie brought home last night. They were talking and joking about all things men joked about.

Carla smiled at Peter, who hadn't noticed she was watching him.

Suzie walked up next to her.

"How are things?" She asked Carla.

"If i am honest, I am not sure"

"What do you mean?" Suzie asked her friend, taking her hand and leading her to the kitchen.

"Well whilst we are out here we can get back on track and work things out but once we get back to weatherfield all our problems will come straight back"

"I see how happy that man makes you Carla, that's all I want for my friend"

"He does, but I know that we have our work cut out for us" Carla smiled at her friend "we will have to take it slowly this time, last time we jumped into a life together, we need to take things slower"

"That makes sense" Suzie said.

"Anyway which one did you have last night?" Carla asked, referring to the men outside.

"I don't know what you mean"

"Oh come on, you have that sparkle about you this morning"

"Ok, Chad"

Carla burst out laughing "chad"

"Yes, the blonde one"

"That is such an american name" Carla smiled at her "but it's all fun and games at the end of the day"

"He was very nice actually, anyway how was Peter?" Suzie asked, changing the subject.

"Peter was amazing, there has never been any doubt in that department, we just work"

"Good, great sex is important but so is honesty"

"I know, I will talk to him today, is he ok to stay for a little while?" Carla asked her friend.

"Of course, you know I like Peter" Suzie told her "Come on let's join the others for some breakfast"

"Here she is, the one we have heard so much about" Chad said to the group as Carla walked over.

"Oh yeah, all good things I hope" Carla said, joining the group.

"Some good, some not so good" Brian winked at her. Peter noticed this but chose to ignore it. Brian was Chad's best friend, he had brown hair and some stubble around his mouth. He was a troubled soul but got ahead with the loyalty of his friends.

The other man around the table was Jake, he had been friends with Suzie for years and would always invite her to social events.

Carla and Peter met Jake the last time they were in LA.

"Guys we all know how much Carla means to Suzie" Jake told the group.

After breakfast was served and the group had finished, Chad Brian and Jake made their way home.

"Goodbye Carla, It was nice to see you again" Jake said to her.

"And you Jake, don't be a stranger" Carla replied.

"Carla, it was my pleasure meeting you" Brian said, taking her hand and kissing it.

Carla shuddered as he did. Peter noticed and placed his arms around her. Since Frank Carla had been nervous around forward men, it hadn't been long since Frank and she was still suffering.

"Maybe next time we can party properly" Brain said, looking Carla up and down.

"There probably won't be a next time" Peter said, sternly "we will be home soon"

"Until next time then" Brian said, winking at Carla.

"Bye Brain, bye Jake" Suzie said, noticing the tension in the air "Chad, I will see you for dinner tomorrow"

Chad nodded and said his goodbyes.

Peter pulled Carla in for a hug "I love you"

"I love you too" Carla told him with a smile. She felt comfortable with Peter and was happy he was there to help her through her tough times. She was sure they could face anything together, even moving back to Weatherfield.
