Hello guys, I know that it's been a while since I have updated but I am trying to get back into it! So here is an update for you, hope you like it.

The next morning Carla woke up to a knock at her door.

She rubbed her eyes and placed on her dressing gown. She slowly made her way over to the door.

Opening it she found Rob standing outside with two coffees.

"Morning sis" he said with a smile.

"Morning, what time do you call this?" she said, rubbing her head and letting him in.

"It's nine o'clock" Rob told her.

She closed her front door and watched him take a seat on her sofa "yes, but I am still jet lagged so cut me some slack"

"I know thats why I am here"

Carla looked at him with a confused look.

"I thought you might like to get some breakfast with me at Roys"

Carla shook her head.

"Oh come on sis, Roy would love to see you and I want to treat you" Rob pleaded.

"I don't know Rob" Carla answered.

"What are you worried about?" he asked her, knowing that there was something else she was hiding.

"I don't want to see anyone that might not want me back on the street"

"You mean Battersby?" Rob rolled his eyes "I won't let her say anything to you"

"I know that but there are more people than just her" Carla told him.

"I have spoken to Tracey and she has agreed to lay off and the other Barlows will just have to get used to you being home"

Carla took a second to think about it. She didn't have a lot of food in so breakfast would be nice.

"Ok, give me a minute to shower and get dressed" Carla told a grinning Rob.

A little while later Carla emerged from her bedroom dressed and ready to go.

Rob took her arm and led her down the street towards the cafe.

"Oh no" Carla said, lowering her head.

Before Rob could ask her what was wrong Leanne appeared in front of her.

"I heard you were back and here was me thinking you had done us all a favour and stayed away for good" Leanne sniped.

"That's enough"

"Guard dog now is it?" Leanne sarcastically asked.

"Leave it out Leanne" Rob said, trying to walk past Leanne but she ignored him and moved forward so she was blocking the pair.

"Carla, haven't you done enough damage"

"Leanne, I want there to be no drama and no problems, I just want to be home with my family"

"That's a lie, you cause chaos and destruction wherever you go Carla and I won't have you do it to Simon"

"I don't want that either Leanne"

"No then you should have stayed away, everyone knows that you ruin everything you touch, you are poisonous Carla"

"MUM" Leanne heard from behind her.

All the adults turned to see Simon stood behind Leanne with an angry looking Peter. "How can you say those things?" Simon said.

Carla looked floored at the fact that came out of Simon's mouth. Peter looked at her and then down at his son, he was shocked too.

"Si I" Leanne started but the young boy stopped her.

"Mum, those were horrible things to say and you say we should always be nice"

"That is true" Leanne said in response "come on Si, let's go have a milkshake"

"No, I am spending the day with dad, remember but I will be home later" Simon told her. He looked up at Carla, who was looking quite sad, he smiled at her. Carla smiled back at Simon.

"Come on Si" Peter said, wrapping his arm around his son proudly and winking at Carla.

She gave Peter a bashful smile in return.

Leanne looked at Simon and then back at Carla, she huffed and then stormed off.

"Welcome back sis" Rob joked.

Carla slapped his arm "it's not funny" she rolled her eyes and walked into the cafe.

Later that afternoon, after a catch up with Rob, Carla made her way back to the flat. She was feeling a bit down. She was home but wasn't with Peter which made her feel lonely.

He had promised to come over once he had dropped Simon off to Leanne but Carla was used to having around all the time and being on the street was bringing up all the memories she had tried to suppress.

She sat on her sofa and began to crave the alcohol. She had promised herself and Peter that she would be teetotal from now on as alcohol definitely didn't help her problems.

Carla took out her phone and rang her therapist in LA. She had really bonded with this one and felt like they really understood what she was going through.

After an hour on the phone Carla began to feel slightly better.

Time had flown by and there was a knock on the door.

Carla opened the door to find Peter stood there with a big bunch of flowers.

"I know you are not a flower girl but I couldn't help myself" he said with a daft grin.

"Get in here" she demanded, grabbing him by the collar and pulling him into her. She placed a passionate kiss onto his lips.

Peter pulled away first "shall we find somewhere to put these?" he asked.

"Sure" she smiled. She took them from him and placed them into the kitchen.

"Are you ok?" he asked her.

"I am now" Carla answered, turning back to face him.

"Were you not before then?" Peter asked, taking her hand and leading her to the sofa so they could talk.

"I was just on the phone to the therapist" Carla said, looking down.

Peter took her finger and placed it under her chin. He pulled her face up gently so she was looking at him "why what's wrong?"

"Nothing really" Carla replied.

"This is me Carla"

"Ok, I was starting to struggle"

"Why?"

"I don't know, I was alone and thinking about what Leanne said earlier" Carla told him.

"Carla, Leanne is always going to be bitter and find something horrible to say"

"I know that, it wasn't just her, I am trying to adjust to being back here" Carla told him truthfully "you know that there are a lot of bad memories here Peter"

"I know that love but that is what I am here for, we can get through this together"

"Peter, there are some things you cannot help me with" Carla told him "You haven't been through what I went through and being here has just made it feel like yesterday"

Peter lowered his head.

"But this time Peter, I am stronger to stay here and work through it because I have you and because I know this time things will be different"

"They will Carla, I have been talking to Simon and I know we can win him around and then once Simon is happy, my family will be too"

"I know I will get there Peter because I have you" Carla smiled at him.

Peter placed a passionate kiss onto her lips. They both knew that as long as they had each other then they could get through anything.

Peter picked her up, letting Carla wrap her legs around his waist. Carla responded heavily to his kiss and she allowed him to take her through to the bedroom.

Peter placed Carla onto the bed and gazed around the room, Carla smiled "do you like it?"

"I love it" Peter smirked, placing another kiss onto her lips "almost as much as I love you"

Carla smirked and rolled her eyes, she then pulled Peter on top of her.

The next morning, Peter woke up to find the bed empty, he looked around the room but was hit with the smell of coffee.

Peter jumped out of bed, pulling on his boxers and making his way out to see where Carla was.

Carla was sitting at the breakfast bar in the kitchen, her hands hugging a cold cup of coffee. She was staring into nowhere.

Peter approached her from behind, wrapping his arms around her.

"Mmm" Carla groaned into his hug.

"Are you ok, love?" Peter asked her.

"I am" Carla said, turning to face him "I was thinking about us and I am excited for the future"

"Me too, Carla" he kissed her forehead.

An hour or so later, Carla was on her way to the factory.

Leanne and Simon were walking along the road on the opposite side.

"Good morning Carla" Simon shouted across once he saw her.

Carla looked up from her gaze and gave him a smile "Good morning Simon"

Leanne glared at Carla and pulled Simon along gently.

Carla shook her head but smiled at the fact Simon was the one to say morning to her. She smiled in a world of her own so she didn't see Rob approaching.

"Morning sis" Rob said.

"Morning"

"I am just nipping to Roys, do you want anything?" he asked her.

"No thanks" Carla replied "I want to get in and start the day"

"Ok but don't get jealous when I arrive with one in my hands" Rob smiled at her, placing his hand on her upper arm and squeezing it slightly for comfort.

Once inside the office the phone began to ring, Carla answered and to her surprise it was the women who evaluated the factory.

Carla took the opportunity to ask her why she gave the factory such a low price.

"Really?" she said in shock as Michelle entered the office.

Michelle looked at her best friend in confusion.

Once the conversation on the phone finished, Carla slammed the phone down on the desk.

"Someone is not their happiest this morning" Michelle joked but Carla just placed her head into her hands "what's wrong Carla?"

"Why can I not come home to people I love and trust?" she asked a confused Michelle "Why does everything in my life have to upset me"

"Carla who was on the phone?" Michelle asked.

"It was the woman who evaluated this place" Carla told her.

"What did she have to say?"

"She told me that the books she saw were not the ones I had just sent over to her, which means someone changed them" Carla told Michelle, she watched as Michelle was just as shocked as she was.

"By the look on your face you don't know anything about this" Carla said to her friend.

"No Carla of course not" Michelle said outraged.

"Sorry, I just needed to know"

"So I'm guessing this was Rob?" Michelle gently said as Rob entered the office.

"Oh look speaking of the devil" Carla stood from her seat "do you have something to tell me, baby brother?"

"What are you talking about?" Rob asked, taking a seat.

"No, don't sit down, seats are for employee's only and you are not an employee anymore" Carla shouted, raising from her seat.

"Carla, I have no idea…" Rob started, rising from his seat slowly.

"Oh don't give me that Rob, you have changed the figures so you could get MY business for cheap" Carla shouted, pointing at her chest.

"Carla" he said, moving towards her "I have no idea what you are talking about"

"Rob, get out'"

"Carla"

"I mean it Rob, I don't want to see you right now"

"I think you should leave Rob" Michelle suggested, looking at Carla and then back at Rob.

"Yeah, why don't you do that, the more I look at you, the more I want to smack that stupid look off of your face" Carla stated, turning away from him.

The room fell to silence.

Rob didn't want to leave but he knew his sister and he knew she needed to calm down before he started to explain things.

Rob sighed as he left the room.

Once she heard the door shut Carla turned to Michelle with teary eyes.

"Oh Carla" Michelle rushed to her side.

"How could he do that to me?" Carla let a stray tear run.

"Shh" Michelle said, pulling Carla in for a hug.

"He is my brother, he is supposed to be the one person I can trust" Carla pulled away from Michelle, looking at her in the eyes.

"Babe, he is just stupid and desperate but he didn't get what he wanted"

"No but it still hurts" Carla told her.

Michelle pulled her friend back in, she knew this would hit Carla and when she was just getting her life back together again, this was not what she needed.
