Heroes Unlimited Saga Episode I
Chapter Three: The Starting Point Part 3
Somewhere late at night, in a big…round city called Pacopolis, everyone was indoors except for a small group of locals. Eight of them were standing outside of a building they knew as the Round House, watching four more of them land a hover vehicle in front.
All of them were round spherical characters, getting together and smiling over their recent victory.
One of them was a green sphere wearing a fancy get-up, and as he came over to them, he said, "Elliptica, I'm sorry Your visit ended so badly." That sphere's name was Stratos Spheros, the president of Pacopolis, and the person he was speaking to was his niece Elliptica.
She replied, "Not all, Uncle Stratos, and it's not over. I won't be going back to Pac Tokyo, just yet."
Another older green sphere named Sir Cumference chuckled, "I guess young Elli has taken a fancy to Pac…opolis."
Then Elli looked over at one of the others, a yellow orb known as Pac-Man. She said to him, "Still got that picture of your parents?
"You bet." Pac gladly replied and out of his pocket he took out a picture of both his mom and dad. Elli took it and joyfully replied, "I-I mean, yes, yes, that looks like my mom's friends."
Pac and more of his friends smiled, especially Sir Cumference when he jumped and yelled, "Yippee! Another clue to finding them. The best one yet."
"You said you met them when your mom took you on a trip. Where?" Pac-Man asked Elli.
"Um, better not say it too loud. Uncle B's got spies everywhere." She said, and unbeknownst to them there was a camera slug running away from being nearly noticed. So Elli whispered the location to Pac, and his response was "Really? Whoa." A big smile came upon him, and then he faced his friends saying, "Guys, pack your bags. We're going on the all-time most major adventure ever!"
He was very cheerful, and so were his two friends, Spiral and Cyili. Knowing they were about to reach another milestone.
Later, Cyili herself still had a big smile on her face as she was inside her dorm room, packing up all the bags she needed for their trip. In the meantime, she kept thinking to herself, "Wow. I can't believe after everything my friends and I have been through, this might actually be our biggest adventure yet. To think I've been used to going on these sort of trips since the beginning, but this one…this one is giving me a different kind of feeling. So who knows how much excitement we'll get from it, especially if Betrayus and his ghoul squads don't bother us this time. More importantly, I'm also focused on Pac. This adventure will bring us one step closer to finding his parents. Once that happens…maybe we'll get closer or actually find them period. From there…I don't know what's gonna happen next. Other than maybe Pac and Elli still sticking together." Once she thought about that last part, she suddenly felt her heart aching a little. Almost as if it stopped and she didn't know why. But she just shook her head and ignored it, wanting to focus more on what their next plan was.
Once she was nearly done, she yawned. Then said, "Well…we aren't really going until tomorrow. It's been a long night anyway so I might as well hit the hay."
Cyili stood up and walked to her own bed, and rested face first. Not acknowledging just how tired she really was, but the next morning, she kept moving around as a sudden small noise kept going off.
"Beep. Beep. Beep."
Finally, she woke up groaning. "What is that?" She looked to her alarm, seeing it wasn't coming from that, and then read her whole room, not knowing what was happening. Until she saw something. A faintish blue light under her other shoes. She got up and walked towards it, and from the light, she saw a small metal box. It was almost shaped like a gold bar but silver, and on it was a dome on top of it glowing a blue light. On its side, facing the pink orb, was a red button that said "Push."
"What is this thing?" She said to herself, now feeling more intrigued than tired. So she slowly pushed the button…and jumped in fear when a flash came up. "Ah!" She blocked her eyes, and eventually opened them up to see, "This device contains a message for Cylindria of Pac-World, and will not activate until she and all her family and friends are assembled together. This is important for all of them. Signed G.E."
"Okay?" She said in an awkward tone. "Something tells me our trip is going to be delayed."
Meanwhile in another universe…
It was past afternoon in another small city. But unlike the last one, it was not filled with orb people. It was filled with multiple human beings, mostly children. Including one kid standing near the border of the town alone with his bike. The kid was known for wearing his blue and red jacket, and hat…and his head was shaped like a football. His name was Arnold Shortman.
He looked at the cloudy sky and had a big smile on his face while the wind was blowing on his hair.
"What a day." He said to himself. Wondering just how long the peace would go by.
Then suddenly, another voice popped out from behind him. "Hey Arnold."
Arnold turned, and saw it was his girlfriend Helga Pataki approaching him. "Hi Helga." He waved seeing her, and she stood by him at the same spot. "How's it going?" She asked him…in a kind tone.
"Good. Today was pretty good, though, no offense but I would've liked it more if your dad didn't keep you in the house all day."
"Yeah sorry. Dad wanted me to stay in for this little family business meeting he had for his company. The whole beeper thing hasn't been going too well but Dad is not one to give up so easily, so he needed my help…regardless of my protesting."
"It's fine. You didn't miss too much at school, it was just me and the others still chatting like everyday."
"I can tell. Heck, have you noticed that for a while now, it seems to be more than just you, me, Gerold, and Phoebe hanging out?"
"Actually yeah. Harold, Sid, and Stinky now hang out with us more at lunch, and I know Rhonda and the other girls hang out with you and Phoebe more."
"Yeah. I don't know why but for a long time things between us and all our friends just seem to be going well. I even noticed that no one's been having a major problem that required your help lately. It's almost as if…ever since the school year started things have just been changing for the better."
"I'll say. I like to think that things have changed a lot since our adventure in San Lorenzo. It was back then that…we found my parents, saved a whole clan, stopped Lasombra, and then you and me…"
Arnold stopped, and he and Helga blushed looking into each other's eyes. So Helga slowly said, "You and I finally came together. And…honestly, I don't think anything has made me more happy than that."
"I agree." Then the two held their hands, and started walking around the neighborhood. Mostly staying silent, they enjoyed feeling the wind on their faces and were glad that it didn't rain despite the cloudy sky. Then moments later, they approached the apartment building, Arnold's home, and sat by the stairs.
"So Arnold," Helga started talking again and blushed. "…with the weekend coming up, is there anything you want to do? With it being just the two of us that is?"
"Hm. Don't know. But if you're thinking of a date or hanging out, I'd be good with that. I just need to check with my folks and see if they have anything planned."
"Great. So, tomorrow morning here?"
"Definitely."
Helga made a deep smile, and intended on walking away, but before she was too far gone, something crossed Arnold's mind. Causing him to say, "Hey Helga, wait. Can I talk to you about one more thing?"
"Huh? Oh sure." She came back and leaned by the stairs, not minding to stay a little longer. "What's up?"
"I was just wondering, with what you said earlier about things changing, do you…do you ever become afraid over how fast these things happen?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, in the past, we had our life the way it was. You, me, Gerold, and everyone else had their everyday lives. We would often have a big problem and we would often help them or each other. It was a time where I never thought I would find out where my parents were or if we would be putting ourselves into a great adventure. Now look at us." He held Helga's hand, making her shake a little. "You and I are a couple, and I have both my parents back. These are the kind of changes I am grateful for. I'm just…afraid of the idea that maybe more things will change in the future, and I don't know if unlike these I won't like those changes. It's pretty much the main reason I've been enjoying this week so much. Things are going by slowly and nothing overly exciting has gotten in our way lately. And I don't want anything to ruin that."
"Hm." Helga then showed a face of sympathy. "I know how that feels. Believe me. Arnold, do you remember the times when you crushed over the other girls, like Ruth and Lila?"
"For your sake, I try not to." They both chuckled.
"But seriously, way back before you and I started this relationship and made it work for so long, all the times when you focused on them, I was nothing but stuck up and mondo jealous. I've been in love with you for a long time and the idea of you ending up with one of them was definitely not the kind of change I wanted to live with. Same even went for the time when I was too scared to tell you how I felt. But then, during the whole San Lorenzo thing, I realized the one thing I needed to do was live with it. I needed to change myself despite what hardship we went through there, and if it weren't for you wanting to help everyone, I don't think I could've done that. So with how much help you've been to everyone since the beginning, and how much you inspired me to do better, I think you can handle any change life throws at you. And besides, you don't have to face it alone."
Helga held onto Arnold's hand tightly, and when he took in all those words, he smiled and said, "Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. Oh, and if you don't mind, while I always appreciate you being nice to me, I've kind of gotten used to you calling me Football Head."
Helga chuckled again, and then to her surprise, Arnold kissed her cheek and said approaching the door, "So tomorrow morning here, we meet, right?"
"Y-Yes?" She blushed massively, and waved goodbye as he went home.
As Arnold was gone, Helga gently sat down and looked to the sky dreamily, whispering, "Wow…what a man." Feeling her admiration for him increased. As for Arnold, while he was inside feeling the same, he put his foot on the stairs wanting to go up. Until he suddenly heard another voice pop up.
"Hey Shortman, how was school?" He turned and noticed it was his grandpa.
"Hey Grandpa, what's up?"
"Something very interesting came up. Um…you know what, just follow me."
Arnold felt confused over his strange tone. So he just followed him into the kitchen, and became shocked to see his grandma…using a crowbar to pry open a box.
"Uh guys, what's going on?" He questioned. And Grandma Shortman answered, "Oh hello dear. How was…how was…school?!" She struggled using the crowbar, until it lunged off her hands and flew to the kitchen wall.
"Uh school was good, but what are you guys doing?"
Grandpa explained, "Well about two hours ago before you came home now, this care-package was sent for you. We planned on saving it for you, but then the weirdest thing came up."
Grandma, "I accidentally dropped it and the box itself doesn't even have a single dent on it. The whole package is lite and yet the box is as durable as a shield. We tried opening it to see what it was made of. So far nothing. It's tough like a shield and stubborn as the bulls I used to duel with back in '68."
Arnold became more confused and just approached the box. It was a little big yet looked like an ordinary cardboard box. He patted on it, and then tried hitting it. Nothing happened but he was able to confirm that his grandparents were right.
"You said it's for me?" He asked.
"Yep." Grandma said.
Then Arnold touched it again, but at the front side. Once that happened…the box suddenly disintegrated and a bright blue light appeared. Arnold and his grandparents blocked their eyes, fearing how bright it was, until it stopped and all they saw next was a small metal box.
It was almost shaped like a gold bar but silver, and on it was a dome on top of it, projecting a big holographic panel that said, "This device contains a message for Arnold Shortman, and will not activate until he and all his family and friends are assembled together. This is important for all of them. Signed G.E."
"Whoa." Arnold replied.
Grandma, "Something tells me that looks really important."
"Grandpa? Would you be alright if I invited some friends over tonight? I think a new change has just come up for me." And Arnold Shortman was right.
COMP: "Message to Recruit #6-7, successful."
More Notes & Disclaimers:
• "hover vehicle": One that looked like a zucchini, I think.
• "our adventure in San Lorenzo": This takes place about over a year later after the events of the Jungle Movie. But like the others, they have a different…chronology.
• "bulls I used to duel with back in '68": Arnold's grandma is known for talking and acting crazy, so I'm making up what I can.
Anyway…
Hi everyone. For those of you who have been waiting for a while for me to post a new chapter, thank you for your patience. I've actually been spending this month doing other things, including posting pictures/tracings, but thankfully I've been able to finish this. Who knows when I'm gonna finish the others but it'll hopefully go by fast. Also, happy…time after Independence Day!
Now, my way of describing this chapter may have felt a little weird. But hey, I've never written a full-on Pac-Man fanfiction before. Or Hey Arnold for that matter. Next, again, comes the other recruits. They are…
Ash Ketchum and Pikachu
Hiccup and Toothless
Hiro Hamada and Baymax
Jeremie Belopis
Peter Parker
Sonia Hedgehog
Tai, Matt, Agumon, and Gabumon
Each of them will be given a scene of their on-going lives, and be given the same device containing the special message. After that, everyone in their sides of the multiverse gather together and hear the message.
I know that's still a lot to work on. I can at least try to make it work, and…you know what, if I wanted to make at least one chapter featuring all of them, it would take maybe longer than it took me to make this. So, while in development, I could also make chapters to my other stories at the same time. We'll see how that goes, and in the meantime there's some more things worth mentioning.
"C's Thoughts on…"
The series of posts designed to share my opinion on the things I've seen. Now I'm using the series for my Author Notes. Starting with…
"Obi-Wan Kenobi"
The newest spin-off story to the Star Wars franchise on DisneyPlus. I say it was pretty cool. Some folks might complain about the special effects or how some of the new characters act, but despite that it was a good show. Obi-Wan was in the same position as Luke was (to some degree), and yet he took the opportunity to do something about it. It was awesome seeing McGregor and other characters/cast-members come back, and at first while I watched the first 3 episodes, I waited for the rest of the season to finish before I watched it. I say that was worth it. And the battles between Obi-Wan and Vader were pretty epic. The question is how will the next spin-offs turn out? And will we receive anything regarding the Old Republic and events after Episode IX? Speaking of which, I already gave my thoughts on "Rise of Skywalker" earlier this year.
Bottomline: This was another special "must-see" Star Wars series.
"Sonic 1&2"
I know I kinda gave my thoughts on this some chapters ago, but for this film series, I say it was awesome. The first movie didn't use much of the source material (other than some traits of Sonic X), and they made it work. It was funny, enjoyable to watch, and worth smiling over seeing the Blue Blur in action. Then the second movie was even better when they showed more characters and references to the games. These two movies were great, and while I wish I didn't have to wait so long, I think the crew's way of pacing themselves with these stories is good. They aren't doing it like how DC did with their Extended Universe, and hopefully this series will be like an extended universe with it showing even more characters and stories. By the way, if they did show more characters in Sonic 3 besides the main trio and Shadow, maybe the next good choices should be Amy Rose and Rouge the Bat.
"Glitch Techs"
Now this Netflix/Nickelodeon series is…is…well, think of it as like Men In Black but with teenagers fighting video games instead of adults fighting aliens. Plus it's funnier, anime-ish, colorful, and gives you good reasons to laugh and enjoy a story together with friends. One thing that may be annoying is the whole "secret government-like task force" situation and how no one thinks that's often a bad idea (fiction or nonfiction). Regardless, this is a fun loving show, better than some of the other stuff Nickelodeon has made lately (even though I don't know too much of the new stuff), and I hope they will continue with another season.
"Spider-Man: No Way Home"
If I could describe this movie in only one small sentence, it'd be this: "A fan's dream come true!" And it was! In this awesome feature, Mysterio exposed Spider-Man's secret identity to the world, turning his life upside-down. But as he tries to receive help from Doctor Strange…things get way worse as some "old friends" from across the multiverse come to Spidey's world. This was a totally epic movie, giving us viewers things we either didn't expect or totally anticipated, and…well, it was better than Multiverse of Madness. Plus, if all that wasn't epic enough…how about the fact that two more heroes got to show up? The very superheroes that I wanted to see come, and they did, regardless of what could've happened instead. TOBEY MAGUIRE AND ANDREW GARFIELD CAME TO THE PICTURE ONCE AGAIN! WHOO-HOO!
Now after that, I may share more details regarding my opinions on these later. As for Obi-Wan again…
Alexriolover95, if I had finished writing this during the time the series was still running, I probably would've said I didn't think too much of how it would end. There was only watching the series and waiting until the season was done so I wouldn't have to wait a week after every cliff hanger. Either way, it was a good series. And hopefully I'll be just as patient with the other DisneyPlus shows coming up. Speaking of which, did you, my friend, hear anything about a series called "Tales of the Jedi"?
To whatever the future holds, including another 4th of July that's passed, let us always remember to make the best of things and enjoy what we have with the people around us. Thank you guys again for reading, and enjoy what else I'm able to share online. Here, plus Twitter, Instagram, and others.
