It took a lot to bug 10-year-old Clover. A LOT, but bullying?

Oh, that would make the blond, brace wearing girl mad in a heartbeat.

Maybe that was why she decided to throw mud at the girl in front of her. The fact she was bullying the only kid on the playground not bugging her helped.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" The girl yelled before she ran off, her clothes a mess.

Ray blinked as the girl extended her hand to help the boy up. He sighed and shook his head.

"Sorry," Ray said while Clover rolled her eyes and hummed. "I didn't see her trip me. You ok, Jenny?" Ray asked the girl who he heard was being bullied.

"Yeah, thanks." Jenny said before running off while Clover hummed.

"Ow, she really scrapped my arms up bad." Ray stated before looking at the cuts on his arms.

"Chill, white knight." Clover stated while smirking as she looked at the cuts. "I saw the whole thing." Clover said and hummed while Ray nodded.

"Hey, I was only trying to stop them." Ray said before grunting in pain. "That girl has been busy bullying Jenny for weeks. I just found out her name while I was helping her." Ray said with a sigh as he brushed off his arms.

"Yeah, well that was really…" Clover started to say before running a nail over a cut. Ray grit his teeth before Clover moved her hand to the side. "Something." Clover finished and nodded her head.

The two kids looked to the other kids. Ray and Clover could see the girl who was busy rinsing off her hair.

"I didn't think you'd be willing to shove mud in her face." Ray said while lowering his arms. "Thanks, though. You pulled a pretty cool move." Ray added and smirked.

"Hey, we have to look out for the nerds." Clover said while Ray rolled her eyes. "But your doing my homework." Clover stated as Ray hummed and cupped his chin.

"Oh no, I'm sorry." Ray said while making a mock bow. "Please allow me to reward the fair maiden for rescuing me." Ray said as Clover elbowed him in the ribs.

"I'm Ray." Ray said while turning to Clover. "Raymond Senan. Everyone calls me Ray." Ray said before looking around the courtyard.

"Clover Ewing." Clover said while turning to look at Ray. "And if you make fun of my last name? Your getting mud thrown at you as well." Clover said while Ray smirked even more with amusement.

"Ah." Ray said while raising an eyebrow. "So, the only girl in the courtyard wearing nice clothes. Who is ALSO wearing braces? Has a last name like Ewing." Ray said before Clover went to elbow him in the chest.

"Cool name." Ray stated while Clover blinked in shock. "Seriously, I don't think I've ever heard a last name that cool before." Ray said while resting his chin on his hand.

"Thanks, I guess." Clover said while blinking once more.

(Present Times)

Ray hummed and ran his fingers over the armor in front of him. It was cold, super cold.

"Luke." Ray stated while perching on the ledge and looking at the area from said perch. "I think the plasma lines aren't working as well." Ray said before he closed the helmet.

Umbra time. Ray had come to confirm the intel Amy had given him and the others.

"It's kind of hard to make the armor perfect when you keep taking it out." Luke put in while Umbra rolled his eyes.

"Funny, that's what a 'TEST DRIVE' is." Umbra stated to his friend and leaned on the billboard. "The plasma circuits are cold. I have a feeling they haven't had much time to warm up." Umbra said and brushed off his armor.

"Just in the gauntlets?" Luke asked Umbra while Umbra nodded and sighed.

"Well, I'm going to check the armor after a moment." Umbra put in while cracking his knuckles. "Also? You can tell Amy her intel is good. I've seen a few trucks and it looks like their all going to the warehouses on the docks." Umbra said before powering up his thrusters.

Umbra lifted into the air, ready to go home and relax.

"You know, we do eventually have to talk about the whole thing with WOOHP." Luke stated to Umbra who hummed and rolled his eyes.

"You mean about us joining them?" Umbra asked as he flew towards home. "I thought we already had this talk, Luke." Umbra put in while kicking in the thrusters entirely.

Umbra hummed as he jetted through the air. He already knew Luke was busy thinking of what to say, probably a witty comeback.

Instead he fell silent. Umbra sighed as he put down at his home. Umbra started to walk inside.

Umbra would talk to Luke tomorrow when things were better.

Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out Clover and Ray were supposed to have known each other for years. Next chapter will be in 2-5 weeks and will end up showing another mission. It will also show Ray and Clover talking to each other over phone and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
